I walked into the room finding Nessa looking through my stuff.

"What are you doing?" I asked not really caring.

"Letting my anger out." She said tossing my journal over her shoulder.

"Going through my stuff helps how?" She didn't answer me, just continued to do what she was doing. I rolled my eyes, and laid on my bed. Thinking about what happened between Zedekiah and I a few moments ago. However, my thoughts were interrupted by Nessa's whining.

"How could you do this to me?"

"Do what?"

"You're dress, that picture; I know you're the girl he was with. Why would you do that to me?" She asked.

"I didn't do anything; you're the one who had the bright idea to look alike! I wasn't even planning on going to that stupid ball! And if you didn't make me go, in the first place, you would be off in lala land with your perfect Doctor. So, don't blame this on me!" I yelled when I realized that there was a picture involved, "Wait... What picture?"

Nessa just got up and stomped her way to the door and walked out.

"Nessa?" I called chasing after her, "What picture?" I peered out the door to see that she was nowhere in the hall.

I don't think Nessa came back last night. Her bed was still perfectly made, her books were still here, and the mess she made was still on the floor. I got ready for school, grabbed my books and left Nessa's on her desk, assuming that she slept in a friend's room and would come back for stuff.

I went to Sorcery and she wasn't there. I skipped lunch to went look for her, she wasn't anywhere in the school. No one has seen her and I started to worry. Maybe she'll show up for history. I told myself. Maybe Zedekiah has seen her…

"Filía? Filía, the animal and Animal laws." Zedekiah said turning from the blackboard.

"What? Oh, um… Honestly I didn't finish reading the assignment." It got so quiet that you could hear a fly land on the ground; I think people forgot to breathe.

"Okay… What about the dragon clock. People believe that the clock put on a show for people." He said.

"What?" I asked not really paying attention.

"I'd like to see you after class." He said then going back to his lesson.

I decided to empty my mind, go back into my black hole, once again, and relax a bit. Perhaps I could find Nessa this way…

"So," Zedekiah said getting my attention, "My prize student isn't paying attention in class, she didn't have an opinion today, and she only read part of the assignment." He leaned on his desk with a concerned look, "What's going on Filía?"

"Nessa didn't come back to the room last night, and she didn't show up for her classes. Sorry for worrying."

"I'll keep an eye out for her, and if I hear anything you'll be-"

"There you are!" Arron interrupted Zedekiah, running into the class, "I've been looking everywhere for you."

"I'm a little-"

"Your sister's in the infirmary."

"What?" I asked leaving my books on the desk and followed him out, leaving Zedekiah behind.

I walked into the room Nessa was in and saw Quillam by her side. He stood up to look at me as I walked in.

"She's going to be-" Quillam started to say.

"I didn't ask you." I snapped, pushing him out of the way, "What were you doing?" I asked knowing she wouldn't answer.

"She was-"

"Was I talking to you?!" I yelled.

"I saved her life, she could have been dead if I-"

"For all I know you could have hurt her. Get out!"

"Do as she says Quillam." Arron said.

Quillam stood there for a moment, and then stormed out of the room mumbling something.

"You should be really grateful. If Quillam didn't save your sister when he did, who knows what would have happened." Arron said.

"You told me he found her lying in an alley to die, Arron. He would be a hero if he caught the person who did this to her."

I took time walking around the campus. Thinking about Zedekiah… Stop, I don't have time to think about that, I have to be there for Ness… And this Quillam boy he... He's sketchy. I mean, just showing up out of nowhere and knowing information that no one should know, and supposedly saving my sisters life AFTER curfew. I just don't like it.

"Hi beautiful."

I snapped back to reality and saw that Arron was walking beside me. What did he just call me?

"You okay?" He asked.

"Just got a lot on my mind right now."

"You'll get through this, you aren't alone. You have people who can help."

"Arron, about Sunday… Um… I'm sorry about what I said. It just wasn't a good day for me." I said, avoiding the topic.

"No worries, I know what it's like, not being cared about. Your other sibling is always more popular than you. I get it."

"Thanks, for understanding. If you'll excuse me, I have to get my books before curfew."

"Of course, I'll see you around, Filía."

I prayed that Zedekiah was still in his classroom grading or getting his class ready for tomorrow. When I came up to the door, he was walking back to the front of the class room.

"Knock, knock." I said opening the door.

"Filía," He looked relieved to see me, "Please come in. What do you need?"

"I came to-" I saw Alethea was in the back of the class, buttoning up her shirt.

"To?" He asked averting my attention back to him.

"I came to get my books."

"Of course." He said pointing at my desk, "They're right where you left them."

"I'll see you tomorrow Zed-Dr. Slye." Alethea said walking out the door, although Zedekiah paid no attention to her.

"What was that about?" I asked reaching my desk.

"Filía it's not what you think."

"Then what?"

"She's my ex-girlfriend, we dated last year, and it wasn't the best relationship, so I ended it. I made a stupid mistake of letting her in and now she thinks she owns me. She thinks that I'll go back to her. "

"Still doesn't explain what just happened."

"She's trying to make her wrong right. She has a problem of letting go. All she cared about was being with me, alone. I wasn't allowed to be with anyone else but her."

"So you settled for me?" I said lifting my books and faced him.

He chuckled, "Last I checked, you kiss me back and you had every right to pull away." He leaned against his desk, "How's Nessarose?"

"She isn't awake but they said that she'll be fine."

"How are you doing?"

"I'll be okay. I'd feel even better if the person who did this to her were behind bars." I started to walk towards the door only for Zedekiah to meet me half way.

"Maybe she'll remember a face when she wakes up."

"Maybe…" I said staring at the ground.

"You're quite stunning and a really good dancer." He said trying to change my mood.

"Don't sweet talk me." I said looking him in the eyes.

He stood up straight, "I'm not one to hold the truth."

"That makes two of us, but I should go. It's almost curfew."

He gave me a gentle kiss, "You're a good sister, even if Nessa doesn't agree."

"Goodnight." I said walking out the door.

"Goodnight Filía." I heard as I turned the corner.

How was you Thanksgiving?! Mine was relaxing. So... Leave a review let me know what you think of the chapter, or anything really. :)
