-Arron's POV-

"I can help." I said as Glinda tended to my wounds.

"You're still weak. You need to rest."

"I'll rest when Filía is safe."

Glinda finished in silence then left the room. I rested my head against the wall. Thinking of a way to free her, then Zedekiah stood in the doorway interrupting my thought.

"Glinda and I are leaving in a few hours. Don't do anything I wouldn't do."

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"Exactly what you think it means." He said leaving.

So he does want my help… Or is this just another way of saying stay put? I asked myself.

-Filía's POV-

"Tomorrow's the big day." Quillam said tightening the rope that bound my hands, "One more morning of suffering and then it's to the grave."

"They'll stop you… You won't… You won't get away with this." I said trying to catch my breath.

"No, I don't think they will." He said walking to the door, "Enjoy your last night alive." He walked out.

This is not how I planned on spending my last day alive. I was hoping to be free not tied to a post trapped behind a locked door. I was also hoping that there would be laughter or fun not silence. Not everyone gets what they want I guess. It's not over yet, I have not given up. I will take Quillam down even if it means that I have to go down with him.

-Next Day-

Thousands upon thousands of people showed up. It's the burning of a wicked witch, who wouldn't show up? They did what every other person would have done, threw tomatoes, rocks, whatever they could. They tried to get my death to come faster. Someone actually made it to the platform and nicked my face with a small carving knife as the guards pulled him away. They started to settle when Quillam came out.

"People of Oz," He started, "The daughter of the Wicked Witch, the daughter who was going to burn Oz to the ground for the death of her mother, but I was able to stop that. I was able to bring her forth to you all, so we could all witness the death that she has brought upon herself."

"How do you know she's the Wicked Witch's daughter? How do we not know you just pulled her from the streets?" I know that voice. I thought to myself, "How do we know that you're playing us yourself?"

"Yes," Another familiar voice said, "How do we know?"

"Now, now-" He tried to calm the crowd only to be interrupted.

"She's not even green!" The invisible person said.

Now, that caused a riot. And I was happy, so happy that the people of Oz had a mind that wasn't easily controlled. Yes, they thought I was here to hurt them, but what proof is there really that I am the daughter of Elphaba? There isn't, except the eyes of three people: One who is supposedly dead, one who could be deemed crazy, and one who would never turn her back on me.

"Last I checked she's the daughter of Glinda the Good. Are you trying to make her the enemy?"

Everyone stood in silence and stared at Quillam.

"Don't listen to that man… Er, woman… Those are lies. She- She truly is the Wicked Witches daughter." He said inching closer to me as the crowd jumped on to the platform.

"I'd start running if I were you." I whispered loud enough that he could hear me.

"Witch." He cursed under his breath, "You did this."

"How? I was in your dungeon enjoying my last night."

"Enough!" He yelled creating a big bubble, "I am your Wizard!"

"No you're not." I said as my arms were released, "You're just someone who's craving some power."

"You!? You should be dead."

"Magic is a wonderful thing." Arron said stepping out from behind me, "It also helps not to be completely dead."

"You haven't seen that last of me Witch." Quillam said disappearing.

-The Castle-

"Filía," Zedekiah said giving me a hug, "I've missed you." He kissed me.

"So have I." I said, "Where's my mother?"

"We don't know." Glinda said as I slipped out of Zedekiah's grasp, "Last time we saw her was three days ago."

"Where is Yackle? I have to see her."

"The room next to the library." Glinda replied.

I nodded my head and made my way towards the stairs as Zedekiah followed.

"Filía-"

"Zed, I have to see her alone." I said not stopping.

"I need to talk to you." He said following my up the stairs.

"As soon as I've talk with my grandmother."

He managed to grab my arm and have me face him, "It can't wait."

"I'm sure it can."

"Not with the way our life is right now."

"Zed-"

"Please." He begged.

"What is it?" I asked as he got on his knee, "You're not..."

"But I am." He said pulling a silver ring out of his pocket, "Will you marry me?"

-Arron's POV-

I can't believe what I'm hearing… Don't say yes, not yet. Please…
