It was now 3 days before Christmas and Steven was contemplating on telling his mom that he was gay and had a boyfriend. He didn't think his mom would throw him out of the house or something, but he wasn't sure he could handle his mom feeling uncomfortable around him. But no matter what happened, his dad was on his side, so he was grateful for that.

Now, Steven was in his underwear, watching TV in the living room, when he saw his mom walking into the kitchen. Deciding to just get it over with, Steven got off the couch and entered the kitchen with his nerves going haywire.

"Mom, can I talk to you?" asked Steven.

"Of course, sweetie. What do you need?" asked Steven's mom.

"I've been meaning to tell you something. It's…a secret I've been keeping from you, and I thought you had a right to know," said Steven.

"A secret? What secret would that be?" asked Steven's mom.

Shaking uncontrollably, Steven said, "That I like boys."

Steven's mom gasped in response and after taking a few seconds to process Steven's comment, she responded with, "You like boys?"

"Yeah, I like looking at boys more than girls. And I have a boyfriend," said Steven.

"A boyfriend? Wow, this is…a lot you're throwing at me. How long has this been going on?" asked Steven's mom.

"Since summer," said Steven.

"Who is this boyfriend of yours?" asked Steven's mom.

"Jake," Steven said honestly, feeling bad for outing him.

"And how do you even know you're gay?" asked Steven's mom.

"Because when girls look at me, I don't feel anything. But when Jake looks at me, I can feel my heart going crazy," said Steven. He thought about mentioning how much he liked looking at guys in tighty whities but he chose not to.

Steven's mom tried to come up with the words to describe her thoughts, but they just refused to come out of her mouth.

"Mom, I know you might be mad at me but…please don't hate me," said Steven, who was on the verge of crying.

Not wanting to destroy her relationship with her son, Steven's mom put her beliefs aside and gave her son a hug.

"Sweetie, I would never hate you. No matter what, you're my son and I'll always love you," said Steven's mom.

"Thanks, Mom," said Steven.

"So, does your father know anything about this?" asked Steven's mom.

"Yeah. He knew shortly after I got home from Camp Maverick," said Steven.

Steven's mom was about to ask why Steven told his father first about his sexual orientation before her until she quickly realized why. Her husband was far more open-minded than she ever was, and so Steven felt more comfortable talking to him rather than her.

"Sweetie, did I ever make you uncomfortable when it came to how I felt about homosexuality?" asked Steven's mom.

"Yeah. Several times. Especially when you said you wouldn't want your son to be gay. I felt like a huge disappointment to you because of that," said Steven.

"Sweetie, I am so sorry I made you feel this way. I never knew how much my words were hurting you. I promise I will make sure you're comfortable talking about your orientation and I'll give you all my support." said Steven's mom.

"Mom, that's all I wanted to hear," Steven said before crying and falling into his mother's arms.

He embraced his mom for a long period of time, feeling truly happy for the first time in a long time.

Hope you enjoyed the chapter. So, Steven no longer has to worry about his mom feeling weird about him being gay and can now enjoy Christmas without any serious issues. The next chapter will deal with Lucas and Kyle hanging out and having some 'interesting' moments. Also, I'm working on a ton of stories (one-shots and multi-chapter stories) so stay tuned. Other than that, I hope you all have a wonderful day. Bye for now and stay safe.
