Admission to the Academy is actually really simple considering that the entrance exam seems to be open to any and all who wish to apply, resulting in a wide range of individuals of all ages and social classes of the applicants range from nobles and residents of the more hospitable districts of Rukongai to its more barbaric outer regions. The results of the entrance exam are used to divide up the successful applicants into different classes, with those who obtain the highest grades being placed in the first class. And even if you fail the exam you are allowed to apply again the next year an example of this is in an upperclassman called Hisagi Shuhei who had failed the entrance exam twice, only passing on his third attempt.
Overall, you will need to demonstrate that you have some Reiatsu by using the Reishukaku and a simple writing test just to test out their literate and level of knowledge.
Aizawa has a feeling that the kid could pass both easily from the first try considering the immense Spiritual Power that he has and he has no doubt that the lieutenant also taught the kid a bit more about general knowledge on their way to the Academy.
Of course, just as what Aizawa predicted the white-haired young boy managed to pass the test with high grade - more than enough for him to be put into Class #1: the special accelerated class that Onabana - sensei in charge of.
Having other people there to act as witnesses the principal has no other reason to refuse the boy's entrance to Shin'O Academy unless he wishes to anger Onabana - sensei. The child was handling the smallest uniform they have available and Onabana has told Aizawa to be his guide.
Before she leaves lieutenant Matsumoto almost kill the kid viva her boobs when hugging him. The white hair boy shake her off and ran to hide behind Aizawa with his tongue stuck out.
Turning to check to time, Aizawa was surprised to see the sky have already started to turn red.
"That test seems to have taken a bit longer than I expected. Classes have already finished for the day but do you want to take a look at the school ground just to know where everything is?" His face although still carrying his characteristic sternness seem softer when facing the tiny white hair child.
The said child only give a small hum and nods.
As they slowly walk through the school ground, Aizawa makes sure to keep the same pace as the white hair boy while pointing out what each building is for and which classes would be held there, he also goes as far as explaining a bit more deeply about the classes when he notices how the child pay close attention to his explanation.
As they slowly approached the dormitories, Aizawa could see how much more relaxed the kid have become with him so he decide to start trying to get to know more of the kid.
"Since you don't seem to be that tense anymore. You won't mind me asking for your name right? Mine is Aizawa. Aizawa Kusho"
The white hair boy suddenly stops walking as Aizawa also make sure to stop as well to listen to his answer. Teal and Icy blue meet as both young men hold eye contact.
"Hitsugaya Toshiro"
"Nice to meet you then, Hitsugaya - kun"

A problem soon arises as they reach the dormitory.
"I'm sorry to say this but since you have been admitted into the Academy late mean that there is no more room in the dormitory for you. Usually, one dorm room is shared by two to three students of the same year however this year we actually have quite a lot of students enrolling so most room already reach their full capacity."
The one who said that was the Male Dorm manager, Aizawa would have believed his word too if only if the manager didn't try to look at everything BUT Hitsugaya.
What makes Aizawa even more annoying is how Hitsugaya seem to resign to this kind of treatment.
Aizawa's stern face turns into a scowl toward the manager but he still tries to act calm and level headed else it would bring bad results for Hitsugaya and he did not want that since he figure the boy had already suffered enough in his life.
"I see. Then is there another way for him to stay in the dorm, Maieno-san?" His voice is void of emotion and full of coldness that Maieno - the manager start shaking in fear.
"W- well…. I guess he could say with an upperclassman but I would not want to disturb them like that considering everyone is already comfortable with their own group dynamic….. Hiiiii" Maieno step back away from Aizawa's sharp glare and hide away behind his file board as if it would protect him from the other.
"Hum, In that case, It would not be a problem if he was to room with me then?"
"Hee?"
'Pathetic' huffed Aizawa "I said since you worry that it would 'disturb the group dynamic' of other people then It would not be a problem if he stay with me, correct?"
He did not even wait for Maieno's reply as he lead Hitsugaya away to his room.
"Haiz, I'm sorry you would have to suffer through such idiotic again just after what the principal had tried to do, Hitsugaya - Kun" Aizawa signed as he rub his face to clear away his scowl.
"...No, thank you. I think it is the second time you have helped me today. Usually, people would be too afraid of me. It is my silver hair or my blue-green eyes? Or my cold personality? Back in Junrinan, the only two people who aren't afraid of me are gramma and Hinamori. But the past 5 years since Hinamori enter the Shinigami school she start to visit less and spend fewer days at home. I …. Start to have dreams of a voice."
I dream about an ice field.
I can feel the ice.
I can hear a voice.
Like thunder, it resounds far away.
Like a flower, it brushes against my hand.
It calls out to me, and never stops calling.
It is the last thing I think about before falling asleep, and the first thing I think about when I awaken.
I have decided to look for it and to press on
Even if I die on this icy field.
Aizawa could now see the bigger picture of why the lieutenant was so insisting on letting the kid join the Academy as soon as possible. A kid as powerful as him, powerful enough to get called by his Zanpakuto at such young age mean he has near to no control over his spiritual pressure.
Although, humans are not creatures that run on instinct they could still instinctively feel fear toward those who are more powerful than them. Hitsugaya no doubt is a higher being than them, but since he is still so young he is still too soft-hearted. From his story, Aizawa guesses that the boy has been accidentally hurting his grams with his spiritual energy and spiritual pressure in his sleep, lieutenant Matsumoto meets him by chance, point out his ability for him and have him enrol to the Academy as quickly as possible not only to help him control his power but also to protect him from becoming a beacon for Hollow to attack.
However. Aizawa knows that Hitsugaya's road is just beginning and there is still much more hardships that he needs to overcome.
Taking a deep breath, he lowers himself to be at the same eye-level as the white-haired boy and gently put a hand on his shoulder.
"Hitsugaya" Icy blue and blue-green eye level with each other "I will not lie to you by saying that everything would be different now that you're in the Academy. No, I will not disrespect you like that. It is human nature to fear those who are different and envy those who are better, people like your grams, Hinamori, lieutenant Matsumoto and I are simply the minority. Tomorrow, once you set foot on the school ground you will have to face a lot of talk behind your back and if some people are bold enough they would even insult you right to your face. At best, you're the untamed hero or at worst, you offend people wherever you go just because of your success in something that they can't. It will feel that the world had no place for you, despite how large it was."
Aizawa stopped to close his eyes while taking in a choking breath, everything was just too close to what he's been through up till his own death and it was hard to keep himself from getting panic.
No. Panic and breakdown come later after Aizawa tells Hitsugaya those words that he had wished someone had told him instead of having to figure out on his own while choking and begging…
'Stop!' Aizawa take another deep breath to calm himself.
As he opens his eyes once more he realises that he has been gripping onto Hitsugaya's shoulder a bit too hard and quickly let go of his grip then gently rubbing it to help smooth the pain.
Aizawa leans back onto his heels from where he's kneeling on the ground as he once again looks into Hitsugaya Toshiro's eyes once more.
"Do not let other judges you for what is right and what is wrong care not for their praise nor their blame. Continue on the path that you have chosen, in the future it may change or it may not, but whatever it is that is your that you manage to pick up on your journey, you should protect it with all your might, guard is with your very soul and if anyone tries to rip it from you you bite their hand off to stop them from even touch your prize." Aizawa's word was hard and gory and not that all suitable to tell to a child but it is filled with sincerity and honesty of a lonely soul who has experienced a lifetime full of pain and betrayal.
"Yeah" Hitsugaya also seems to understand what is it that Aizawa wanted to tell him.
"Yeah"

That night once they both settle in and rest for the day. Aizawa once again dream.
It has always been the same all these years.
It was a dimly lit large cave, the ground is rumbling as the voice echoed around him.
Aizawa has been walking deeper inside the cave all these years since he first awoke under Soul Society's sky, not once have he had reach the end.
Today as always he continues to walk down the stony road but this time unlike any other time before he has reached the end of the never-ending tunnel.
Including his past life, Aizawa had never seen such a magnificent sight.
The cave at the end of the tunnel looks as if the ceiling collapsed creating an opening to the outside letting natural light shine into the dark cave as if it was the light of heaven while the steep hill is a staircase that would lead to heaven. The cave itself hold crystals of different sizes and shape scattered around.
Suddenly, a large wind picks up as Aizawa have to hold on to the side of the cave so he would not be blown away.
"So you have finally started accepting your past" A voice, deep and rumbling sounded from above. Aizawa does not remember hearing it before but somehow it is familiar and smoothing as if he has heard it his entire life.
Soon the wind stop. He looks up to see a gigantic brown and green Chinese dragon.
His Zanpakuto spirit.
"To remember the past and accept it and to use it as a stepping stone to drive yourself. Do not forget, ********."
Aizawa chokes when he hears the dragon call him with the name that he has thrown away.
The name that he was called before becoming Aizawa Kusho.
"It was you, wasn't it? You were the one that send me to Soul Society" He breathed out a breathless laugh.

Outside the window of Aizawa and Hitsugaya's room, the Cresent Moon was bright as a small Hell Butterfly fluttering through the sky.
The Wheel of Fate shipped from its gear.
