Hey, I'm back again with some more Poke-slop hope you all had a good Halloween. Anyways now that I'm more or less catching up with the original story is there anything you'd like to see? My biggest issue is trying to come up with side plots that don't feel forced or take away from the stories pacing which leads to the story feeling kinda just like point A to B with no substance, like i WANTED to do something on the road to Lumiose but i didn't know what COULD happen... damn it i could've had a Pokemon battle oh well hindsight am i right?

Chapter 6 - The Spirit of the Radio

"Welcome to the Lysandre Café, how can I help you today?"

… huh?

That… man had a café? What the hell kind of looney toons shit was this?

Alex stared at the waitress while having a small mental breakdown, both her and Shauna seemingly unbothered by his silence.

"Uh yeah ill have a razz berry smoothie, and… oh! I'll take this Lysandre red velvet cake! Hey Alex, what are you gonna have?"

Hearing his name Alex snapped out of his stupor, "hm? Oh, yeah, I'll have the same thing she's having" 'seeing as I can't read any of this yet…'

The purple eyed waitress merely nodded then wordlessly made her way back to what he could only assume was the kitchen. When she was gone Alex tilted his head back and let out a sigh. "So, what's the plan for the rest of the day Shauna?"

"Well, I was thinking after we eat, maybe we can head over to the professor's lab and get registered ya know?"

Alex nods, "sounds like a good plan to me, I'll just follow along since you seem to know the city better than I do"

Shauna smiled "of course! Can't leave my friend behind, can I?"

After some waiting, the waitress came back tray… not in hand? Instead, the tray was wrapped in an ethereal purple glow, and accompanying her was… those eyes…

Those same eyes from the woods…

'Oh my god that's what scared me, its… its… adorable!'

Floating just beside the young woman was a bipedal cat creature with big all-seeing eyes, the same hue as hers a light purple, it was an Espurr, if his memory was correct.

"Here is your food, Espurr, place it down right here please." As she commanded, the cat manipulated the tray and with a light clink, it landed in the center of the table. The show would have been amazing for Alex, if it hadn't been for the fact that the creature hadn't taken its eyes off him since it had first arrived.

The waitress made her way back to the counter, but her Pokemon didn't follow, she turned back and called for it "Espurr? Come with me please" the Pokemon obeyed and followed never taking its eyes off him.

'j-just ignore it Alex, just focus on your food' he took a bit of his cake, the taste was unlike anything he'd had before, it still tasted like the cake back home but… different, it tasted healthier somehow? He could feel his body being filled with energy. 'Oh, my Go-Arceus, is food here just that good? I think I could get used to this! These berries are miracle workers'

Alex and Shauna waved goodbye as they left the café, the waitress bowed to them as they left. "Thank you for visiting Lysandre Café, I hope to see you again"

Back on the street again, Shauna led the way as they headed to the Lumiose city laboratory. "Shauna! Are you sure this is the right way?" As usual she had run off ahead of Alex, with him desperately trying to keep up.

"Yeah, I'm sure! C'mon Alex, you should trust me more than that!"

Alex sighed "alright I'm putting my trust in you then!" Shauna grinned, "That's the spirit, now then, let's go!" Alex gave her a mock salute and kept running.

The streets turned into a blur as Alex blazed past all the shops, 'this city is so clean… and everything is made for people and Pokemon I don't think you could even fit a car down half these streets, it really is just an ideal version of Paris!' The pristine brick roads were filled with trainers going about their day, shopping at the various little clothing stores and Pokegear shops.

Shauna was stopped on a street corner pointing and jumping "hey! hey! Alex it's just over here just like I told ya!"

Sure enough, when Alex came up to the corner he saw it, just as he remembered from the anime he watched as a kid. It was rather unassuming standing next to the grand architecture of the city, the walls were a cream color, the building was fenced in with an iron fence and pillars topped with pokeballs made of stone.

"Hey! quit your staring we've got place to be! Professors to meet! Cmon! Cmon!" Shauna once again drags Alex off through the front entryway of the lab. The doors were propped open, most likely awaiting trainers arriving for the upcoming gym season.

"Oh gosh I'm so excited I hope, I wonder what kind of Pokemon I should get… oh! What kind are you getting? Maybe we can match… oh! Maybe we can get competing types! Yeah! Like a rivalry!"

Alex places a hand on his chin, "huh… yeah I wonder what I should choose, I haven't really put too much thought into it if I'm being honest…"

Shauna looked shocked before calming down a bit "Wha-well…" she sighed "I guess you did say you weren't really sure right off the bat, so I shouldn't be too surprised…" she then got worked up again "but still! This is really, really, really important!"

Alex huffed "fine, alright! Ill figure something out… the options are… Froakie, Fennekin and Chespin right?"

"Well yeah duh anyone could tell ya that!"

"I'll probably go with Froakie… or something a ninja frog would be pretty cool haha…" Alex sighed 'God this is like those conversations I used to have with my buddies… I wonder how they're doing?'

Shauna shakes her head and sighs "gosh I don't understand you sometimes, and as for what the heck a frog is I'm not even gonna ask! Now if you're done messing around let's get this show on the road!"

She marched up to the entry way, not yanking Alex's arm for once, with him in tow. The interior of the lab reminded him more of a museum than a modern lab, the walls and floors were a mix of clashing colors between the red carpet, the green tiles, the blue walls all accented with a vibrant gold. To their left, there is a rather sizeable library with numerous rows of books crowding the shelves.

'Probably a little library for trainers, books on the ins and outs of Pokemon training and battle guides if I had to guess… wish I could use something like that heh…'

"Thank you so much professor!"

Alex turned his attention to the stairway in the middle of the room just in time to see a kid a few years younger than him run past him and out the door.

'Arceus, everybody just runs everywhere, and here I thought you got running shoes on route 3' Alex mused over his little joke as he turned his attention to the top of the stairs, or more importantly, who was at the top, it was the professor of the Kalos region, Professor Sycamore, the man looked young considering the title he held, just as the games portrayed him, his hair flowed down in thick strands, almost looking unkept if it weren't for the obvious care that went into maintaining it, his features were sharp yet his demeanor and smile betrayed that, he wore a soft caring smile, his charcoal eyes carried a joy and passion for his work… he also wore his signature lab coat and a blue shirt so it really wasn't that hard to identify him…

The professor waved goodbye to the kid who had ran past the duo before turning his attention to them "Hello, I'm Professor Sycamore, it's a pleasure to meet the two of you, thank you for coming today. I'm assuming you are here to become trainers, am I correct?"

Another one for the history books... unless I choose to rewrite it again then it'll be for the revisionist history books... so nowhere
