A/N: Hello, to all you beautiful people, and welcome to yet another new story! I think I have a problem, cause I keep writing stories that are going to be really long! (Well, other than Scars and Clout. The former has maybe another four or five chapters and the second "Season" of Clout will probably have eight chapters. - Also, yes, none of my stories are either abandoned, or on hiatus. it just takes a while for me to get back to some of them is all.)

Anyway, new story! And, it's a doozy of one. Why? Well, do ya like Dragon Age? (specifically, the first one, Origins.) How about choose your own adventures? Cause, guess what? The madladd is back at it again, with just that, enjoy!

RWBY was created by the late Monty Oum!

Remnant: Rise of the Grimm and The Bearers of Light

And, so, it is written that long before the Histories were put to parchment, or to the Scriptures, the Gods did dwell alongside their children on the world.

And, for a time it was good.

But, in Mankind's greed the leaders of Old Arcadia did try to climb to the heights of the Gods. They did gather together and produce a great rite to walk among the Gods in the Realm of the Divine.

For this blasphemy, the Gods did punish their children, casting all those who had entered the Realm of the Divine down to earth and afflicting them with a curse most foul, begetting the first of the Afflicted.

And, so fell Ancient Arcadia, never to rise again.

So, it is written…

/ /

An older male of silver hair, highlighted with sparse bit of a darker brown, strolled quickly through woods of a dark, gnarled trees and marshy ground. He wore silvered plate armor and a thick cloak of a dark green, lined with off white fur around a neck. He was armed with a pair of short swords strapped to his lower back and in his hands he bore a tall staff of dark brown metal, capped with an emerald sharpen to a point.

A voice narrated as the man continued forth, coming up to a cliff's edge and the remains of the battle therein."Long have I watched over these lands and the people who dwell therein. They are a most hardy folk, having weathered many a storm from the Conquests of Old Arcadia to the more recent attempts by their closest neighbors, The Vacuan Empire and the Valean Monarchy.

"But, I fear that pales in comparison to the coming one."

The man knelt next to one of the bodies, that of a fallen soldier, their steel armor rent and torn apart, exposing the partially eaten flesh beneath. He grimaced and shook his head at that before gently closing the dead man's staring blue eyes.

As he stood up from the corpse with in prayer a to the dead another trio of humanoids came out of the dark woods behind him. They then surrounded him, trapping him against the cliff's edge as he continued to stand there with his eyes closed in prayer to the fallen, seemingly having not noticed the strange, horrific creatures.

As one of the humanoids drew forth a blade that was more bone than steel and swung it at the armored man's head, he suddenly turned and parried it with the steel shaft of his staff before promptly blasting the deathly pale creature away with a greenish blast of magical energy, killing it instantly as it shattered all its bones with concussive force.

The man then swung around to drive the emerald tip of his staff in the midsection of the next creature as it ran up on him, clawed hands raised.

As it backed away, clutching at the now bleeding wound in its abdomen, the man drove it to its knees, with an armored forearm to the back of the head, before knocking it off its feet as he struck it in its chin with the head of his staff, turning just in time to parry the third creature as it charged the two combatants.

The human dodged a thrust to his face followed by two more wild swings by the creature before his opponent snarled and knocked his staff from his hands, only to yell in pain as the human male then drew a small knife from his belt and stabbed it in the shoulder. He followed that counter with a fist to its still snarling jaw and a knee to its stomach, before finally tossing it behind him and over the cliff's edge.

The creature could be heard letting out a low, keening wail as it soared into the mists below.

Finally, the man turned to his one remaining opponent as he drew both short sword which he promptly plunged deeply into its chest, killing it with a guttural shout of his own,

He huffed a tired breath as he staggered over to where his staff had fallen. He picked it up before jerking around to look off towards the horizon as a distant rumble of thunder could be heard. As he stared at the gathering storm off in the distance in concern just a crackle of red lightning split the sky the voice narrating concluded with-

"May the Brothers preserve us. May they preserve us all."

You come awake suddenly, jarringly. You don't know where you are nor where you were. You know you were sleeping in your bed, but no more than that.

You blink and look around as you become aware of finding yourself in a dark void. One that was Formless. Featureless.

As you gaze around in perplexion a voice suddenly, if softly calls out.

What Gender are you?

Male or Female

You blink at that and look down, finding yourself entirely nude. Somehow, you don't find that strange, only to start again, reacting at the sound of the voice as it echoes, and reechoes, throughout the immediate area around you, and look around as your hair drifts by your face as eyes trying to pierce the darkness around you.

But, you can see nothing.

What color is your hair? Your eyes?

Brown, Blond, Blue, Black, Red or Green?

The voice spoke once more as you think about that, puzzled at not remembering something so innocuous. It is toneless, that voice, without affection or emphasis on any of its words, as if the questions means little to whoever, or whatever, it is. You looked around once more, but, still find nothing there in the formless, featureless void as you float there.

You are getting getting less scared and more confused as the voice says…

The coming threat will be difficult to overcome on you own. To that end, you must join with others like you. Those filled with the Light.

As you process what that meant, seeing flashes of unknown figures before. A blond-haired young man with an easy smile in silver and white armor laughing at some joke. A young woman with her face largely obscured by a red cloak running away from something or someone. A older man with gray hair tipped in brown in a green, long-tailed jacket standing before a wide, open balcony with a emerald-tipped staff in hand.

But, before all that. You must be armed.

What, is your weapon?

Do you claim the Shining Silver Sword, with its wicked edge and icy cold abilities? Though, it currently lacks range, it is the most versatile of the weapons. One day it may even grant you the ability reach your opponents no matter how far away from you they are.

Or, the Burning Brand Spear, with its increased range and hidden explosive abilities? Though, it is the King of ranged melee, its superb accuracy is currently foiled by heavy armor or shield-bearing opponents. For now, at any rate.

Or, is your weapon of choice the Twice-Blooded Axe, with its overwhelming power and innate power over the Wicked Blood itself? Though the axe has the greatest risk to reward when using it in combat that can be reduced via training and your control of its abilities.

You watch as the very weapons the voice spoke of appeared in a sudden flashing of silvery-white light to float before you. After choosing your personal weapon, and wondering at how you could have forgotten something so important in this world, it disappeared before your eyes.

Before you can ponder on that, the voice speak one more time.

That is all the time we have, fair Warrior. Go, rest now, and return to the Waking World, for the Time will soon come where you will shape the Fate of the World.

May you be Blessed in the coming Journey, and may your Resolve stand the Tests of Time that are coming.

Now, Awake!

Oh, Bearer of the Light!

A/N: So, still there? Hope you enjoyed it so far. I'm sure you have questions, concerns. So, I'll answer some of them now. If you have any others, leave a review? I reply to all Reviews!

The story will be updated once a month, every other month, as I wait for reviews. Obviously, that's how we'll do the Choose your own path of this Adventure, but not every chapter will have things for you guys to leave a review for as an answer. I do hope you decide to go with me on this journey.

The character creation is limited for a reason, since we're not going into details, as it's effectively your character, and everybody has an idea of what they look like, thus, the reason why I didn't asked for skin color, and the gender can apply for someone was originally the opposite gender in life. And, honestly I'm kind of hoping we get a 50/50 split so I can write for both as needed. Extra work for me, sure, but I'm willing to do it for you guys.

As for the weapons, being limited, well, I wanted the character to kind of unique from the RWBY cast that you'll eventually meet, and each weapon will be quite powerful, eventually. Also, they all do have a ranged option. It's RWBY, after all.

There is, also, a default character, I will say. If no one decides to take part in the choose your on adventure part of this.

A red-haired, green-eyed female armed with the Burning Brand Spear, to be exact. She is very curvy, I will say. Very. (Also, No, it's not Pyrrha!)

Why that specific variant? Well, it all started way back when when I first played a little ol' game called Dragon Quest 8, and was promptly ruined for life thanks to the character of Jessica. I've liked red-headed tomboys ever since. And, that is all.

Oh, speaking of Dragon Quest, I got another story that I just uploaded based on that game series. Go check it out if you're interested.

Essiter out! Love ya!
