The Girl Lost in Time
"JiNx?" said once in exasperation "Jinx?" said again a second time in almost humorous disbelief. A scuffed chuckle escapes the newly ordained girl's lips "You're kidding right" she cocks her head to look at the very serious boy's eyes. "The name Milo would call me when I would mess up as a kid?" Pink eyes blinking in sheer confusion, Jinx is a familiar name but unused since Vi died..She snaps up "Vi is alive isn't she?"
Ekko now with an auction worth of junk to explain can only nod at the last question. Powder collapses back onto the poor conglomerate of fabric kicking her legs out beneath her. "Look Powder, I will try to explain everything but you need to breathe and take one step at a time, this isn't where you're meant to be" he calmly states while he moves to sit beside her stretched out limbs. She peers to him looking for a sign of a joke but far too aware that this is very real.
Why did she come here again? Was it curiosity? Love? She didn't know anymore. She followed simple steps expecting simple results, just looking to meet the other version of the man that sparked her inspiration. She still hasn't exited from the treehouse but the world here is far too vast for her to handle already . What is she to do? Does she really want to know more? Her sister is alive, she's thrilled for that but, her name isn't Powder. So again she asks the boy "Ekko, what happened?"
The Boy Savior
Ekko hearing that final pleading beg for answers stiffens himself. He stiffens not only his body to prepare for the unload but stiffens his resolve to begin to tell this girl the harrowing story of her new/old life. Emotions rage forth as history's duffle bags are unpacked. She barely made it through her world losing just her sister, can she handle losing..Everybody? This version of her did.
Ekko goes step by step watching as she sinks further and further into the fabric. This once light version of the girl he adores is sinking further away from him too. Ekko wonders if she finds this version of him tainted like the rest of his tales but he tries not to dwell on that and focuses on telling her truth.
An eerie silence falls over the room, the rustling of the trees leaves outside are the only things heard as histories dust settles. How many minutes of silence now he wonders, time ticking by. He takes a deep inhale to look back at her and he's shocked to see her stoic expression. After what felt like hours of explanation, hours of wild emotion he doesn't understand how he's looking into a blank emotionless void. As he was about to grab her arm to provide some form of comfort she states "So you're telling me after all of this, I lost what was my basically adopted daughter too?!"
