"No I don't!" Poppy yelled. "Tell me your name! As Queen of Theed, Naboo, I command you to!"
"The Queen of Naboo?" the Troll asked, raising his eyebrow. "And what if I don't live on Naboo?"
"I-I-I still command you!" Poppy replied.
"Ugh, fine," the Troll sighed. "Then you'll leave me alone?"
"Then I'll leave you alone," Poppy replied.
"It's Branch," the grey Troll replied.
"Branch?" Poppy asked. She stared at him again. She saw a holster with a blaster on his hip. And he had stuck his lightsaber in his hair. Why does he have a blaster if he has a lightsaber. She gasped. "Branch? I didn't know you were Force-sensitive!"
Branch huffed, rolled his eyes, and started walking off. "Bye. Have fun you two. Throwing your party." He waved his hand, half-heartedly at them. He turned his back towards them and began walking away. Well, he was rude," DJ sighed, crossing her arms.
"I think he's fun!" Poppy cheered.
"'Fun?'" DJ asked, shocked. "How do you describe fun?"
"Well, okay, maybe not FUN, but...I can help him! I'll invite him to the party!"
DJ narrowed her eyes at the queen, then shrugged. "Okay, whatever." Poppy followed DJ to her Naboo Starfighter, only to see it's been blown to smithereens. "Oh my Troll!" DJ cried. "My ship! My beautiful ship! My ship!" She threw her fists into the air, yelled for a moment, then began sobbing. "Oh, DJ, I'm so sorry," Poppy said.
DJ stood up and sniffled. "It's alright," she said. "It's just a ship. But how are we gonna get you home?"
"Oh," Poppy said. She hadn't even considered that that ship was their mode of transportation back to Naboo. And if she doesn't make it home quick, then Theed might end up in ruins. Or on fire. Or worse. War.
She shuddered. She never liked the idea of war. Not even in the slightest. It always scared her.
But...if she can't get back home, she'll have to rent a ship. But there's no ship rentals on Tatooine. Many people say that once you crash on Tatooine, there's no going back. So how would she get off this planet?
Branch might know. He's on Tatooine as well. That's it! "DJ!" Poppy cried. "Branch!"
"Yeah, what about him?" DJ asked, obviously skeptical about Branch.
"We could ask Branch!"
"Why?"
"How else did he get here? Doesn't he have a ship?" DJ smiled. "Of course!" she cheered. "Why didn't I think of that?"
Poppy lightly slugged her friend and ran towards the direction she saw Branch leave. "Branch! Branch! Branch!" Poppy called. Branch stopped walking, sighed heavily, then turned around. "What?" he cried.
"Can you take us back home?" Poppy asked.
"Home? Why don't you have a ship?" Branch asked.
"Well, yeah, we did," Poppy started, "but someone blew it up."
"Oh, well, lucky you," Branch said.
"Please?" Poppy pleaded.
"I don't have to," Branch replied.
"Yes you do!" Poppy cried.
"No, I don't!"
"Yes!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
"No!"
"Would you just stop arguing about it and take us?" Poppy cried. "I'm you queen and I COMMAND you to take us on your ship!"
Branch stared at her in silence, his brows furrowed, and his nostrils flaring. He sighed heavily again. "Fine!" he cried. He pointed at them both. "But you have to promise to be quiet! I don't want ANY distractions on my ship!"
"I promise!" Poppy said, putting a hand on her heart and another in the air. Branch raised an eyebrow. Poppy stared at him, smiling. Branch huffed and proceeded to walk along.
Poppy and DJ followed him in complete silence, to which Branch enjoyed.
Branch walked over a dune and proceeded to walk down to a broken up T.I.E. Fighter, with a black and blue paint job. The wings are broken and battered, but still in good enough condition to fly. The cockpit has missing chunks of metal coating, but none of the wires are exposed. The window has a few cracks that have been patched up with very durable duct tape. Poppy and DJ shared skeptic looks with each other.
Branch continued to the broken T.I.E. Fighter until he stopped beneath it, and opened the cockpit. "Okay, there's barely enough room in here for all of us, so we're gonna be kind of cramped," he said.
"This ship?" Poppy asked.
"Yes," Branch said. He already knew where it was going. He decided to let Poppy finish. "But...this is a piece of junk!" she cried, throwing her hands out to it. She waved her hands at it, expectantly.
"Do you want to be stuck here and get a shady person to pick you up?" Branch asked, unimpressed with her answer.
Poppy stood in silence for a moment. "Okay, fine," she grumbled.
Branch helped Poppy and DJ on the ship, in that order, then told them to move over. He took off his blaster holster, by unhooking it from his belt, put it inside his hair, then climbed inside the cockpit.
He shoved DJ aside, since she was in his chair, then closed the glass. "Where are the seatbelts?" Poppy asked.
"There are no seatbelts in this ship! You know most ships don't have seatbelts!" Branch cried.
"What?" Poppy cried.
"I installed seatbelts into my ship, Poppy," DJ replied. "You wouldn't get in otherwise."
"I want out of here!" Poppy cried.
"Pardon me, your Highness!" Branch yelled, shoving her back into the corner, as she was reaching over him to open the window. "You either get inside this ship and sit down, in SILENCE, or I can get you outside, along with your maid, and fly off without you!"
DJ pulled Poppy's arm back. "Thank you!" Branch yelled. "Now sit still and be quiet!" After one moment of silence, Branch turned on his ship and lifted it off the ground. It shuddered in the air. He rubbed the dashboard. "Hang in there, old girl," he whispered.
His ship shuddered for a second before lifting off the ground and taking off into the atmosphere. "See, now that's not so hard, is it?" Branch asked sarcastically. "Besides, there's so little room in here, that you don't really need seatbelts!"
DJ rubbed Poppy's hand. "He's actually a really good flyer," DJ said softly.
"Yeah...I guess," Poppy said. "But I still wish there'd be seatbelts."
"You can use your hair," DJ suggested.
"It's just not the same," Poppy replied, holding onto the wall.
"Hey, you guys wanna see something cool?" Branch asked.
"No!" Poppy cried.
Branch smirked and pulled the ship really high. Soon, the blue sky turned into dark space. "Whoo-hoo!" Branch cheered. Once he passed Tatooine's moon, he pulled the ship to a stop. He smiled at them, and pulled the ship down, spinning it as well. He pulled the ship up again, and started flying straight again. "So how was that?" he asked, excited.
"Ugh," Poppy said, her hand on her stomach. "I think I'm gonna be sick."
"Aw, come on!" Branch cried. "Where's your sense of flying?"
"I hate to break it to you, Branch, but I-urk-I don't have one..." she wobbled for a moment, before DJ caught her and helped her upright again. "I-I never learned to fly."
"Pfft," Branch said, his amusement burned out.
Branch flipped a few switches on his dashboard, and two above his head. He went into hyperdrive without a warning. Poppy lurched backwards, into the wall, before she pulled herself back upright again.
"A warning would be nice," she muttered.
"Hey, princess-"
"Queen," Poppy corrected.
"Whatever," Branch replied. "If you wanna live in this world, you gotta be prepared for the unexpected, and that include hyperdrive jumps."
Branch pulled the ship out of hyperspace and down to Naboo. He parked his ship on the palace grounds and opened his windshield. "Okay, everybody out!" he yelled. DJ helped Poppy out.
"Thank you, Branch," Poppy said, dusting off her dress. Branch just huffed, closed his window, and started flying off again. He flew into the sky, and went deeper into the grassy plain, but never left the planet.
