Epilogue

"Mommy, can we just trade him?"

"No, Charlotte, you can't trade your baby brother."

"For something really good?"

"Like what, baby girl?"

"Do not indulge her, Daddy," Lily shakes her head sternly, though her smile betrays her.

Quinn grins at Lily before turning back to their daughter.

"A doll," Charlotte pouts. "A good doll."

"He's definitely worth more than a doll," Quinn says thoughtfully, scooping Charlotte onto his lap. "Maybe an ice cream sundae, too?"

"Quinn!" Lily frowns.

"Okay," Quinn laughs. "Mommy says no ice cream sundae, Charlie. Maybe we just keep him."

Lily shakes her head and laughs, lifting the baby off the floor, where he's busy sucking on his toe and shaking a rattle. "Do you hear that, Mikey, your dad says maybe we'll keep you around."

"What we could do," Quinn offers Charlotte, "is have another baby, and maybe trade that one…."

Charlotte's eyes light up with the possibility. "Okay! Can we trade it for a good doll?"

Lily shakes her head, trying to suppress another laugh. "You're not trading any of our children, Quinn."

"Well, you heard your mom, Charlie. I tried," Quinn grins, his heart full, as he pulls them all close.
