Chapter 133: Ash vs Raihan Part 2

"Urshifu, I choose you!"

"Go, Duraludon!"

The final two Pokemon appeared, glaring down their opponents as they readied themselves.

"Dragonite, Dragon Rush! Urshifu, Surging Strikes!"

Dragonite sped forward, ramming right into Duraludon and pushing him back. Meanwhile, Urshifu rushed forward, punching Sandaconda hard and fast before he could react. Ash liked his setup, but Raihan was one step ahead.

"Duraludon, Breaking Swipe! Sandaconda, Sand Tomb!"

Duraludon roared, swiping Dragonite with his massive claw and sending her flying like she was a Butterfree. Urshifu moved to help, but found him sinking into a sand trap thanks to Sandaconda.

"Duraludon, Body Press!"

Duraludon leapt into the air, ready to crash down on Urshifu, who struggled to get out of the sand.

"Extreme Speed, Dragonite!"

Suddenly, Duraludon was forced out of the air by Dragonite body slamming him, knocking him away before she flew down and lifted Urshifu back to solid ground, the fighting type bowing in appreciation.

"Nice try, Raihan, but it'll take more than that!"

But instead of getting frustrated, Raihan smirked, and pulled out Duraludon's Pokeball, returning him so he can Gigantamax.

"Oh yeah? Well ask and you shall recieve!"

And with that, he chucked the massive Pokeball into the air, releasing the massive Dragon type.

"Now, G-Max Depletion!"

Before Ash could issue another attack, his Pokemon were enveloped in red energy, howling in pain as it damaged them.

"Incredible! Just like Raihan to take the initiative, but G-Max won't last forever!"

Ash, not wanting to be outdone, quickly pulled out Dragonite's Pokeball.

"What do you say, girl? Want to even up the score?"

"Kairyu!"

"Then let's do this!"

WIth a press of a button, Dragonite returned to her Pokeball, where the energy from Ash's Dynamax Band made it grow to a gigantic size before he threw it, revealing Dragonite powered up.

"Incredible! We've got a real clash of the titans here, folks!"

"Dragonite will remain Dynamaxed longer, but Dragon types are super effective against each other," Leon mused. "It'll be interesting to see who comes out on top."

Raihan chuckled, amused but not impressed.

"Copying me, will you? I'm flattered, but it'll take a lot more than that to win!"

"Well, we've got it! Urshifu, use Surging Strikes on Sandaconda!"

Raihan rolled his eyes.

"Come on, you didn't think it would be that easy, did you? G-Max Depletion!"

But Ash just smirked.

"I didn't, but this will! Max Flare, Dragonite!"

Before Duarludon could move, Dragonite hit him with a huge fireball, stunning him and allowing Urshifu to strike unimpeded. Raihan growled in frustration, now needing to come up with a new strategy.

"Sandaconda, use Wrap! Duraludon, use Max Steelspike!"

"Urshifu, use Rock Smash! Dragonite, Max Wyrmwind!"

Sandaconda slinked his body around Urshifu, squeezing him as he struggled to break free, slamming his fist into his captor as hard as he could. Meanwhile, Duraludon tried to impede Dragonite with massive steel spikes rising from the ground, but while they did hurt her she powered through, striking him with a huge burst of Draconic energy as his Gigantamax wore off.

"It's getting down to the wire, folks! Can Raihan prevail, or is he done for?"

"Fat chance!" Raihan sneered. "Duraludon, Sandaconda, Breaking Swipe, Rock Slide!"

"Rock Smash, Urshifu! Dragonite, Max Whirlwind!"

Pushing through Urshifu's attempts to break him, Sandaconda summoned an avalanche of rocks to fall down on Dragonite, drawing her attention away from Duraludon while he ran up to her leg and began swiping at it, making her cry out in pain. Not wanting to be bested, Dragonite summoned large gale force winds from her wings, sending Duraludon flying as she returned to normal size.

"Remarkable, folks! Both trainers have used up their Dynamax for the battle, yet neither Pokemon has fallen! Champion, thoughts?"

"I'm not surprised one bit," Leon smirked. "At this level of competition, a battle will never be settled so quickly. This truly is a battle of willpower and endurance."

"Dragonite, are you alright?"

Despite how tired she was, Dragonite nodded, refusing to let Ash down.

"Alright then, Dragon Rush!"

"Stone Edge, Sandaconda!"

"Urshifu, help her out with Brick Break!"

Dragonite rushed forward, breaking through the pillars of rock with only a wince as she rushed towards her target. Sandaconda moved to create more, but Urshifu pounced first, smashing his fists into the rock type and keeping him from interfering, allowing Dragonite to land her attack without trouble. Duraludon was taken aback, but not defeated.

"Breaking Swipe!"

"Dragon Claw!"

Dragonite thrust her claw forward, putting all of her remaining energy into a final attack, jabbing Duraludon so hard he reeled in pain. But his counterattack was no less powerful, sending her to the ground in defeat.

"Dragonite is unable to battle!"

"Dragonite, return! Good job, get some rest."

Urshifu, enraged by his comrade's defeat, began punching Sandaconda even harder. The Rock Type tried to fight back, but Urshifu was faster and stronger, and in the end Sandaconda lost.

"Sandaconda is unable to battle!"

"Oh yeah! Way to go, Urshifu!"

"Fu!"

Raihan said nothing as he returned Sandaconda to his Pokeball, giving it a brief glance before pocketing it.

"Alright Ash, you've made it this far, but we won't go down without a fight!"

"Neither will we! Urshifu, Close Combat!"

"Breaking Swipe, Duraludon!"

Urshifu pounced on his remaining foe, striking him hard and fast. Duraludon wasn't as weak as Sandaconda, though, taking the hits as best he could while returning blows of his own.

"Dragon Tail!"

"Catch it!"

Duraludon swung his tail at Urshifu, swiping him off his feet. But Urshifu was quick to regain composure, gripping the tail hard.

"Now throw it with Superpower!"

Urshifu growled, bulking himself up before throwing Duraludon with all his might, Dragon–Steel type hitting the ground hard. But despite how much damage he had taken, Raihan's ace still managed to pull himself to his feet. But despite how much they tried to hide it, both trainers could tell their Pokemon were on their last legs.

"Alright Duraludon, Breaking Swipe one more time!"

"Urshifu, Surging Strikes!"

The two Pokemon charged forward, fist and claw at the ready to land the final blow. The two clashed in the middle before running past, the crowd watching in awed silence as the two stood. Finally, Dualudon collapsed, while Urshifu caught himself and stood triumphant.

"Duraludon is unable to battle, Urshifu wins! Which means the winner is Champion Ash Ketchum!"

"And there you have it, folks! In this matchup of two members of the Masters Eight, it's the newest member who comes out on top! Let's give our two brave trainers a big round of applause!"

Ash smiled proudly as he returned Urshifu to his Pokeball, the crowd cheering wildly for him.

"You did great, pal."

"Oi, you!"

Raihan marched up to him, and grabbed Ash in a chokehold…

Only to take another selfie with him before letting him go.

I'll admit, you've got some talent."

"Thanks, Raihan! My Pokemon and I had a blast."

"But you'd better not lose now, you hear me? Not until you get to Leon. Otherwise, you had no right to win this match."

Ash laughed, and gave him a thumbs up.

"No way! I'm going all the way!"

Raihan smirked, and casually walked away. Up in the commentator's booth, Leon smiled, and nodded approvingly.

"Not bad, kid."
