Chapter 26

The following morning Moroha is going through her backpack to see if she needs are in there. "Let's school supplies, check. Lunch made by mom check, recorder, check. And the miniature camera, check." She mumbles as she zips up the backpack.

"Moroha, are you ready to go?" Kagome asks as she opens the door into the girl's bedroom. "Yeah mom." Moroha smiles in return. Kagome decided to take Moroha to school today since Inuyasha stays home to work instead of being at the building.

"Anything new lately, Moroha?" Kagome starts of the chit chat as she drives. "Nothing other than joining a school club." Moroha shrugs her shoulders.

"Oh. So, you found something interesting?" Kagome smiles as she keeps her eyes on the road. "You father told me about it before I came upstairs to get you. "He told me that this club is focusing on mysteries and crimes. Kind of like me and your father."

"Yeah. Ever since Uncle Sesshomaru and dad discontinued the mission, I was getting quite edgy ever since. So far, the science project was the only thing to keep my mind off of it. Maybe this club would do the same." Moroha explains to her mother calmly.

"Who knows when your father and uncle will decide to let you and the twins to resume it." Kagome comments as she pulls up to the school's drop off lane to let Moroha out. "I'll see you later mom." Moroha calls out after getting out.

Towa and Setsuna wait patiently for their cousin to meet them at their homeroom door. "Morning, you two." Moroha comes up to them. "Morning. Why did you come from the other end of the school?" Towa asks first.

"My mom wanted to drop me off. She wanted to know what I was up to." Moroha answers as they enter the classroom. The spot Meiko by the windowsill. "Oh, Moroha. I'm so glad that you're here." She beams with a smile. "Yeah, aren't you supposed to be in a different homeroom?" Moroha asks her. Meiko waves it off. "Don't worry about it. This is the only time we can speak with each other. Anyways, are you two interested in joining the club?" She turns her attention to the twins.

Setsuna and Towa glance at each other. "We'll think about Meiko." Towa said to her, knowing Setsuna isn't comfortable with the request.

Meiko smiles. "Well, I have to go. The door is open for any new members to join." She leaves the room.

Moroha sits in her desk while the twins are sitting in their own beside her. "Moroha, are you sure you want to join that club? It's not really approved by the principal." Setsuna said to her from behind.

"The truth is, Setsunak is that the article she showed us got me on the edge. According to dad, agents are to be anonymous about their involvement of the case. So far, he wants to get some information about Meiko and how she was able to get it in the first place. As well as who it was that wrote it." Moroha leans back in her desk chair with her hands behind her head.

"How will you get that without being caught?" Towa asks her. Moroha is about to answer until the bell rings. "During lunch." Moroha tells them before the teacher begins their lessons.

During lunch break Moroha let Towa and Setsuna know where to meet her. The cafeteria isn't where they'd prefer since it can lead to gossip and rumors, something they can't stand in the least. So the only place left to settle down is outside on the roof.

"Ok, Moroha, spill, what is it that you're going to do at the club?" Towa asks her anxiously. Moroha grins with her little fangs and teeth exposed. "This will definitely work for sure." She said as she pulls out charm bracelets, three of them in counting.

"We're too old to wear these Moroha." Setsuna said to her in skepticism. Moroha tsk as well waving her clawed index finger. "Ah Setsuna, that's where you're wrong, my cousin." Towa and Setsuna took the bracelets Moroha assisted them to wear.

"What's so special about them?" Towa asks her curiously. Moroha gestures to put them on like any other bracelet, "These here are bracelet veils."

"Bracelet veils?" Sestuna asks as she looks are her golden one with different kanji symbols on each bead. Towa with a silver one with the same feature. As Moroha's is wearing red. "Remember when Gin talked about the tree that has been putting the people here into a deep subconscious state?" Moroha reminds the twins.

The twins nod for their answers. "Since I have spiritual powers, I'm able to repel the effect. You two on the other hand need those to do the same thing so that you won't be infected by the fragrance." Towa and Setsuna seem to understand what Moroha is talking about. "So this is to protect us from the tree's influence." Towa points out.

Moroha nods. "When I told dad about the article, he had his suspicions not just that but also the tree here. According to him, that tree is a demon tree." She said as she shows the information about the tree. "This tree known as Neru Memori, or Memory Sleep."

Towa and Setsuna are familiar with what Gin told them earlier. "So in order to stay alert is to wear these bracelets." Towa said to her cousin.

"Yes. I even add an extra ingredient to it." Moroha grins again. Setsuna admires the design of the bracelet. "What is that extra ingredient for the bracelet?" She asks.

"They will help read the person's mind. That way we know for sure if they are lying or telling the truth." Moroha explains the bracelets' abilities.

The bell rings to resume class. Luckily they're wearing long sleeve shirts so they made sure that they keep their bracelets hidden.

Throughout the rest of the school hours, the girls have been picking up various rumors and gossip with the bracelet's ability. Even a few rumors seems to intrigued one of the three girls. The bell rings to dismiss the students except for those who have to stay after to do random tasks assigned to them. Good thing the girls didn't have to do them. They have plans to take care of.

"Ok, Moroha, remember the plan and make sure you get as much details as you can." Setsuna whispers quietly before entering the room where the mystery club is taking place. Moroha enters alone to see Meiko sorting out other articles that could be as interesting as the one she showed Moroha earlier.

"Ah, Moroha. I'm glad you came." Meiko smiles. Moroha smiles as she digs into her backpack and open up the pocket where the miniature camera pin and puts it on her jacket. "Sorry, but Towa and Setsuna have plans of their own so they can't come in." Moroha obviously lied.

Meiko slightly loses the smile. "It's ok. I'm just glad I'm not the only one in this group." Moroha nods. "Anyway, do you still have that article you showed me the other day?" She asks.

Meiko nods as she goes into a folder and pulls out the page. Moroha reads it again a bit more thoroughly. She goes down to the bottom of the page to find who wrote it. 'Hiroshi Ginta.' She said in her head.

Towa and Setsuna focused on their bracelets to make sure they both read Moroha's mind. "Hiroshi Ginta." They repeated the name. "Any idea who that person is?" Towa asks her twin. Setsuna looks through her iphone to look up the name.

"Hiroshi Ginta is a local journalist who is very detailed about his writing and research about certain crimes that have been publicly known." Setsuna reads about the journalist's background. Towa holds her chin, "If I were to know any better, I think someone wanted him to write this as well as not to let the public know who it was."

Setsuna nods to agree. "I can tell you for sure that we need to know more about him. Not to mention, why he left out the 4-year-old's name."
