The bell rang, signaling the end of another school day for Marinette and Adrien. Adrien smiled as he waited for Marinette to gather up her books. "I'll be ready as soon as I give you a hug," she said, hugging him close, breathing in the soft scents of laundry soap and the faintest smell of cheese.

Adrien chuckled softly. "Miss me? Bugaboo, I was right here in front of you." Marinette pulled back, pulling a slight face. "That can be taken literally and figuratively now, but that's not what I was getting at."

"Oh?" Adrien's voice sparked curiosity as he slipped his hand through hers, and Marinette loved how they walked together side by side, like good partners to, equals.

"I wasn't able to whisper "I love you" or send you a silly note," she explained as they walked into the locker room. "As much as I love those things, Ms. B wouldn't be to happy."

Marinette grinned and nodded, turning for a moment to gather her things, when they both looked up to hear pattering on the roof, and Marinette let out a small groan. "Great, I forgot the umbrella!"

"Lucky for you, I didn't," Adrien produced her black umbrella. "Oh, your wonderful! But how?" Adrien pretended to wear a hurt look. "You really forgot your favorite black cat came to share breakfast with you?" "Right, and we all know how you hate getting wet."

Marinette paused at the entrance to school. "Marinette?" "This is where it all begin, right here," she whispered, when Adrien had first handed the umbrella.

"And I'm lucky every day," Adrien leaned over for a kiss. "And I'm the one called Lady Luck!" "Come on, let's get home."

Arms linked, the couple headed out into the rain under the umbrella, where memories were made.
