I was going to listen to Dad and stay where I was, no, really! I was! I was there when Grindelwald tortured my dad when we were in New York. I've heard Dad's nightmares stemming from that night, I know what he is capable of, and I want to be nowhere near that, thank you very much. I even slipped my portkey charm off my neck and slipped it into my sleeve, just in case! However, I could feel Uncle Theseus and his aurours approaching rapidly. I sucked in a deep breath and hid in a small alcove and watched as they marched past me. I hesitantly reached my mind out to find Dad, because I was getting nervous with no information about what was happening. Dad obviously recognised my need for comfort, so while he blocked me from seeing or hearing what was happening, he tried to give me a "child friendly" version of events. I suddenly heard screams coming from the door that everyone disappeared through. Dad suddenly shoved me out of his head. This, coupled with the continued screaming is what led me to disobeying Dad. I ran towards the door and slipped into the amphitheatre.
I was taken aback by the sheer chaos. Blue fire, spells and curses flying about, both Grindelwald and Uncle Theseus barking orders at everyone...literally the second I thought I understood what was happening, Credence entered the circle. I watched in horror as Grindelwald seemed to send him away, presumably to some super-secret hideout. I started really looking for Dad at this point, but he's on the other side of the amphitheatre. I start running but stop when I see a woman in bright pink enter the circle. "QUEENIE!" I yelled, but it was too late. She also disapperated. That's going to break Jacob's heart! A curse was suddenly thrown at Grindelwald by Tina, who I also hadn't noticed at this point. But that made it worse, because now the fire is being directed at everyone. It's then that Grindelwald seems to pause. "Mr. Scamander. Do you think Dumbledore will mourn for you?" I'm filled with fury. "LEAVE THEM ALONE!" I screamed as Grindelwald shot a burst of black fire at my dad and uncle. "Grindelwald! Stop!" Leta also yelled. "AMELIA!" Dad screamed. "Leta!" Uncle Theseus called out. "These two I believe I know." I rolled my eyes, obviously he remembered me from New York, and Leta is well known already, so it's not like that's overly impressive. "Leta Lestrange...despised entirely amongst wizards...unloved, mistreated...yet brave. So very brave. And Amelia Scamander...or is it Dumbledore? You know, it can be so confusing, can't it? I can help you both. You've both been so brave. It's time to come home. I glanced between Leta and Dad and Uncle Theseus before making my decision. I slipped my charm out of my sleeve and slipped my hand into Leta's. She took a deep breath and looked at Uncle Theseus and Dad. "I love you." She said, aiming it mostly at Uncle Theseus, but also wanting Dad to know she loved him too, albeit in a slightly different way. I then muttered the activation for the charm and took my hand back just as Leta exploded the skull one of Grindelwald's goons was holding. She vanished on the spot, just as fire was directed at us. "AMELIA!" I heard Dad scream as I launched myself to the side. I scrambled away, just in time to duck behind a statue as another ball of fire was hurled at me. I took a deep breath and drew my wand, ready to fight.
I felt my arm be grabbed and jerked as I was side alonged outside the mausoleum. Aleathiea was radiating anger. "Amelia Scamander, what in Merlin's name were you thinking?!" She demanded. "Never mind that now. TOGETHER!" An old man called out, interrupting the lecture I'm fully aware I deserve, but not from her. "In a circle, your wand into the earth, or all Paris will be lost." One by one, everyone who could use magic, including me, jammed our wands into the ground, calling out "Finite!" as our magic combined with each other, fighting back the fire hydra that Grindelwald had created. I poured as much magic as I could in, and fortunately, it wasn't long before we overpowered the fire. As soon as it was dealt with, the graveyard went silent. I could feel the second Dad turned to me, and I could feel the anger and fear combine, which I was already afraid of, because Dad does not do anger. Unless you're harming creatures. Or me...he's never been this angry with me. And he's not even started his lecture yet.
"Amelia Joy Scamander! What in the name of Merlin were you thinking?! I specifically told you to stay away! You directly disobeyed me, and you nearly got yourself killed! We lost Leta, and I nearly lost you too!" At this, my head snapped up. "Leta's not dead." I said. Dad and uncle Theseus, who I could see watching from a distance both stared at me. "Melia...we saw her...I know you were right next to her, but she was..." Dad trailed off. I shook my head. "I gave her my charm. She's back in London. I was going to use it, I swear! But...you forced me out. I... I didn't know what was happening! For all I know, he was torturing you again! I felt your pain last time, and I couldn't handle it again!" I was full on crying at this point. Dad's face softened, and he pulled me into a hug. We both cried as we clung to each other. I felt Uncle Theseus and Aleathiea join in with the hug. I heard Dad mutter to Uncle Theseus that he had chosen his side. After a few minutes, we all drew back, but I refused to let go of Dad. "Amy, what did you mean, Leta's in London?" Uncle Theseus asked. I shrugged. "Gave her my portkey. Didn't give her much of a choice, but it only carries one at the moment. The charms for more than that required more magical ability than a 13-year-old can reasonably handle. So, she's currently in my room back in London. Sorry for scaring you all, but I panicked, and teenagers aren't exactly known for being smart...especially when scared." I mumbled. Dad just sighed. I could tell he wanted to say more, but we were interrupted by Teddy, who was hobbling over to us. "Teddy!" I cried, picking him up gently and holding him close. I then noticed a silver necklace clutched in his hand. I blinked when I noticed the two red drops in the pendant. I quickly slipped it into my pocket before any of the adults who might take issue with a blood oath saw it. I'll show Dad later, once we're alone.
An: I don't own this, just Amelia and Aleathiea.
