This is the 63rd chapter. I don't own the series of My Hero Academia or the series of Justice League.
Terrible Trio
Few weeks have passed since Bruce, Tim, and Damian returned thanks to the Joker using the Lazarus Pit. Bruce decided to come out of his retirement of crime-fighting since he has unfinished business with the Clown Prince of Crime and helping Ethan, Eri, Emily, James, and Lita their training, which he can tell they're able to carry out the legacy and the Batman core values. However, Bruce and Tim didn't like the idea of killing the criminals after Ethan gives them an explanation, but the suggestion is if the criminal broke out of prison the 3rd time, Jason and Tamao end them, permanently. Bruce and Tim understand that, but Damian is alright with that since he finally gets a chance to kill due to being trained by his mother and the League of Assassins.
Bruce, Tim, and Damian decided to help Dick and Jason by extending further training since they'll be facing enemies in the future.
The Justice League and the Teen Titans were glad that Bruce, Tim, and Damian have returned since they've got a lot to catch up. They are currently at the Watchtower, catching up with the group of heroes, including Clark, Diana, John, Barry, J'onn, and Shayera.
The people of Gotham City were astonished that Bruce is back from the dead since everyone heard the news about the Joker brought him, Tim, and Damian back from the dead because of the Lazarus Pit, which he made an announcement after that. He also warned them to never find the Lazarus Pit because it has some side effects if used to bring someone back, and it'll cause desecration, which the people were able to understand that since they have to respect that and their loved ones.
However, Bruce decided to have Tamao, Lita, and Ethan enrolled at Gotham University for this year's semester while Eri stayed behind to be homeschooled with him and Milo.
Now at the penthouse during night, the sound of window break was heard, and the security guard is knocked out, slamming against the wall. The three criminals known as the Terrible Trio slowly approaching him while revealing themselves from the shadows.
The first one was a male anthropomorphic fox with black eyes, orange and white fur coat. He wears a tan shirt and black pants.
The second one was a male anthropomorphic great white shark that had a muscular appearance, web-like hands with claws, gills, and black eyes. He only wears camouflage cargo pants.
The third one was a female anthropomorphic vulture. She wears a black tank top with black shorts.
"A valiant effort, stout sentinel, but the game was ours before it began." Fox said with a smirk in arrogance as he turns to the shark with a nod.
Shark smirks with his teeth showing, turns to the safe as he used his claws to slice the door open. He then opens the bag and placing money next to it, then closes it since the bag is now full.
"Time to go." Fox suggests, turning to her when she fires her weapon that has spikes connected to the wall, then it fires a cable and sticks a metallic stand. "Wait."
He then turns to the security guard, grabbing him by the collar and pulls him close.
"So, what do they pay you here...Henry?" Fox asks, looking at the name tag from the jacket. "9-10 dollars an hour? A grand total of what...4.25 a week."
"Fox, knock it off! We gotta move!" Vulture said in annoyance, sternly.
"Let's see, that'll be 21,000 a year. Can that be right?" Fox asks mockingly, stood up as he walks out and tosses the money to the guard. "Here, an appreciation for services rendered. We won't tell."
"Beats a gold watch, that's for sure." Shark adds with a smirk, making Fox chuckled, but the security throws the money aside with a grunt.
"Oh, you shouldn't have don't that. Luckily, my friend here holds back of his killer instinct. You better be glad about that." Fox warns him. "Also, it's business decisions like that, that got you where you are today."
"Are you done?" Vulture questions.
"Yeah, yeah, we're heading out, babe." Fox remarked with a dismissive wave, about to leave when they heard a sound of creaking.
"Hey, did you hear that?" Vulture asks since it got her attention as they turned to the door, which is kicked open by Batman (Ethan) as he and Robin (Eri) ran after them.
Vulture flew away and Shark ziplines down, while Fox stays behind as he rushes after him with a snarl and readying his claws. Batman (Ethan) stops himself when Fox lunges, which he catches him and delivers a powerslam, making him land on his back with a hard thud. Fox grunts in pain but delivers a low sweep and making Batman (Ethan) land on the floor while tried to run out of the window. Robin (Eri) throws her batarang which it only missed her target and hits the wall instead. Batman (Ethan) recovered from that sweep, running to the security guard.
"Don't worry about me, get them!"
"Not a problem!" Robin (Eri) replied as she ziplines down after them, which Fox lands on the ground and notices her sliding.
Fox cuts the cable with his claws, causing her to lose her grip and fires her batclaw while the Terrible Trio ran towards the boat as she swings over the sign and lands on the shore.
"Hate to tell you, but you should be locked up in the zoo." Robin (Eri) told them, points her finger at them.
"You want me, Tweety Bird, come on then!" Fox mocks with a smirk, gestures her to fight as she's about to oblige that when Batman (Ethan) lands on the ground with the batclaw of his own.
"Robin, stop!" Batman (Ethan) shouts with a warning which made her stop and turns to him without realizing the shore is rigged with bomb.
"He smells it!" Vulture said seriously as she flies after them. "Guess we'll do it the old way."
"Or Plan B." Fox suggests as he presses a button from a detonator, causing the bomb to explode and it made Robin (Eri) to jump off the shore into the water while Vulture stops herself.
"Watch it! You could've killed me with that!" Vulture shout sternly.
"Hey, I got that little twerp out of the way, didn't I?" Fox retorted. "Let's get out of here!"
And with that, Fox and Vulture towards the boat as they flee while Shark swims away.
"Robin!" Batman (Ethan) shouts as he jumps of the shore and into the water, merged out with Robin (Eri) in his hands.
"Ethan, what happened?" Bruce asks.
"I'll tell you when we get to the Batcave. Robin is down." Batman (Ethan) informed him as he swims to the shore, carrying her to the Batmobile while driving to the Batcave.
While at the ocean, the Terrible Trio were driving away from the docks.
"You think we got time for one more?" Shark questions as his head merged out of the water. "We still got some business with them."
"Oh yeah, we can go for one more." Fox replied with a smirk. "Make sure you make Jaws proud."
Shark responds with a smirk of his own.
"But once we're done with them, we'll hide the money in our stash so that no one will notice." Fox said.
"And we'll leave Gotham City and use the money to travel somewhere that doesn't involve with them." Vulture adds with a smirk.
Somewhere at the beach in Gotham City, the university students were having a good time at this late of night. Most of the male students were throws a female student in the air with a big cloth, the female student blew a raspberry while running with a football around her arm and the male students were chasing after her, and one of the male students is cooking while some took the ones that are cooked. The female student ran into the water as she dives down and merged out while the male students were about throw a football, which made them stop with their eyes widen in dread.
"C'mon, in!"
But unknown to her and got them notice was a shark fin swims behind her as they narrowed their eyes to look for a shark.
"Wait are you waiting for, come on in!"
"Shelley, get outta there! Hurry!"
It got her confused as she slowly turns around from behind and notices a shark fin swimming after her, which made her scoffed a bit.
"This is so Spielberg."
But once she dives down, Shark merged out of the water with a loud roar which made her scared a little but noticed the appearance with skeptic look.
"Duncan, is that you? Cool costume. You got it from the drama department?"
Though with she didn't realize that it isn't a costume, proven his point by roaring at her.
"I'm not laughing anymore, Duncan! Now take that thing off!"
While trying to get it off, she's starting to realize that the so-called costume happens to be real which made Shark smirks while dripping saliva out of his mouth, causing her to scream in horror. It got their attention as they stop partying and saw her running away while Shark swims after her. It causes the university students to scream in terror and ran to their vehicles, but Fox is on top of one of them. It got them noticed when they look up to see Fox, who leaps off the car and lands on sand with a roar as the students scream and run. Vulture was at the top of the ledge with a smirk on her face, flies down to the pickup truck which made them spooked and crashed into the rock, which they were able to get out and ran while the Terrible Trio watches.
Later that morning at Wayne Manor, Ethan gives Bruce an explanation about the encounter known as Fox, Shark, and Vulture, known at the Terrible Trio, at the docks. Bruce can tell they had a rough night at crime-fighting which it didn't surprise him.
"'Terrible Trio Strikes Again'." Tamao said, reading the newspaper. "I don't get it, who are the Terrible Trio?"
"Terrible Trio are three thieves who are using predators of land, sea, and air and dressed like them." Bruce explains. "Dick and I have encountered them long ago, but they only wear animal masks for covering their heads. The only members I know are Gunther, Warren, and Armand who inherited their family fortunes. Warren gets it from oil, Armand's father owned an aerodynamics, and Gunther's father is a shipping magnate."
"But if they're inherited by money, why stealing them?" Tamao questions, confused.
"They want more than that, they strike Gotham City hard when they band together as thieves." Ethan answered. "According to the files, they had the influence and power to turn into crime. They're worse than the Joker, at least he's got madness as an excuse."
"And what files are you talking about?" The voice of Dick asks when he and Lita approached, which made him noticed the newspaper. "Terrible Trio? This takes back memories, except the whole fur suit thing. And last time I check, they wore masks, and they look like refugees from Mardi Gras."
"I doubt they're wearing fur suit. When I fought the Fox, it looks like he's real." Ethan said with a ponder.
"I'll look into it." Bruce said. "In the meantime, you and Tamao should be heading to college with Emily and James."
"But what about the Terrible Trio? Don't you think we look into those guys since they're expert in those areas?" Tamao questions.
"The only thing these guys are experts in is arrogance." Ethan remarked, getting ready to head for college while Tamao and Lita does the same.
"You think they'll do some snooping around in school?" Dick asks, turning to Bruce.
"I have no doubt about it, I did raise him and train him to be my successor." Bruce said with a smirk. "But all that aside, I'll call Nikita and see what she knows."
Dick nods in respond, hoping that Ethan and Eri would be able to find the answers about how the Terrible Trio turning into humanoid animals.
At Tartarus, Nikita is waiting for Aaron Langstrom at the interrogation room after being informed by Bruce Wayne about the Terrible Trio. Of course, she was aware of those thieves because of the files, but what got her confused is the furry animal appearance which it got her realized that it has to be the chemicals that was once used by a former scientist turned into a criminal known as Man Bat. The police arrived with Aaron in cuffs as they placed him on a chair, leaving them alone since she'll be getting some answers.
"Ah, Director Waller, I wasn't expecting you here." Aaron said with a smirk. "I was hoping to see Batman, how's your mom?"
"Cut the crap, Langstrom, you know why I'm here." Nikita said with a serious look on her face, tosses a newspaper to him. "There's been an incident at the penthouse last night, and those notorious thieves known as the Terrible Trio has been stolen money and scaring the university at the beach. And the only connection about their appearance is your handiwork of those chemicals."
While Nikita speaks, Aaron reads the newspaper about the Terrible Trio and their transformation which made him furious.
"They stole my chemicals!" Aaron snapped, slamming the newspaper at the table which gotten her attention. "Those damn thieves somehow got into my lab and stole my work!"
"Aaron Langstrom, refrain your outburst!"
Aaron then exhales, tried to calm down and looked at Nikita.
"While it's true those chemicals are my work, but I should tell you, I have nothing to do with any of those crooks." Aaron told her. "I've been here for years now, and I haven't touched the lab the last time Batman foiled my plan."
"Someone has." Nikita said. "And to let you know, your lab has been ransacked when I got there weeks ago. We don't know who stole that equipment and uses them to make the same formula you've used."
"Do you know who did?" Aaron asks.
"That's classified." Nikita said bluntly. "But we thought you could whip up a formula that can counter the transformation."
"Like I said, I don't have any equipment I can use." Aaron told her in annoyance. "And if I had, I would've use that and kill those damn crooks myself!"
"You're in no position for doing that. Also, we're able to find something, we'll let you know, and you can whip up an antidote." Nikita said as she stands. "You'll think of something you can use."
And with that, Nikita left the interrogation room and leaving Aaron alone with an angry look on his face.
At the local country club, Bruce is hosting a charity event while the guests arrive, he and Alan Quatermaine were practicing skeet shooting practice.
Alan Quartermaine is a lean muscular man in his 20s with short brown hair and brown eyes. He wears a brown vest with white shirt underneath and dark gray bandanna, tan pants with leather belt around his waist, and brown leather boots.
Alan Quatermaine is a British agent and an explorer with unparalleled marksmanship, a descendant of the British big game hunter Allan Quatermaine. He learned that his ancestor, Allan Quatermaine who was raised by a widowed father, a Christian Missionary in Kenya, Africa and became a big game hunter to hunt animals and an explorer who discovered the King Solomon's mine, as well as El Dorado, the Lost City of Gold, and the fabled Temple of Skulls of Akator. His forefather retired after faking his death in 1897 but being recruited by the Majesty's Secret Service to be assembled in a collective powerful individuals known as the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. He was killed by a knife impalement from English professor and a criminal James Moriaty who fatally landed the knife in his side at the Kazahzstan Abandoned Carbonek Laboratory. He's buried in the side road cemetery near the destroyed pub in Kenya in 1899. Now, Alan Quatermaine continued the legacy as an agent and an explorer.
"Pull!" Alan called as a skeet is flying out, which he was able to shoot it with the long-range shotgun.
"Thanks, Kevin." Bruce thanked him when a man known as Kevin gives him a shotgun and aims. "Pull!"
The skeet is then fly out as Bruce fires his weapon.
"Impressive, Mr. Wayne." Alan praises him, reloading his weapon. "Not everyone could outmatch me during shooting practice or matches."
"I'm sure I can manage without competing." Bruce said.
"Many would, but in the end, they lost their set of skills whenever the Pro Heroes are around." Alan said with a sigh. "But after the League and the Titans returned for a long absence, the civilians are demanding to defend themselves in case criminals ever tries anything. However, the question is: is it out of fear? Stupidity? Or something else?"
"Probably both." Bruce states.
"Yes, and it'll get themselves killed whenever someone is more deadly than those criminals." Alan told him, aiming his shotgun. "Pull!"
The skeet then flies out in the air again, which Alan shot it in a good distance.
"Which brings me to my question, do you usually work for charity and helping your son?" Alan asks, turning to Bruce who's ready for firing his weapon.
"Well, I do have a night life." Bruce told him, aims his shotgun. "Pull!"
Then, the skeet is flying in the air again and he shot it.
"Besides, it's important to help others." Bruce adds. "It may sound corny, but hey, it's how I feel."
"And it's mostly appreciative of you and highly commendable, Mr. Wayne." Alan said with a smile. "Not every rich people understand the meaning of 'helping the poor'. Pull!"
The skeet then flies in the air while Alan aims, waiting in a long distance and then fires at only at 900 yards which it didn't surprise Bruce, but the crowd clapped their hands for his marksmanship.
"Only 900 yards, my ancestor shot the same range during his time as a big game hunter, and an explorer." Alan said. "This happened back in late 1800s."
"And I'm sure it's impressive shot." Bruce said seriously.
"Oh, it is, it really is." Alan agrees, also seriously. "Which is why I've taught my sons on how to defend themselves in case they run into trouble. And I'm sure your son has taught well while showing those rich snobs not to look down on others."
"I've taught him more than that." Bruce said as he walks away.
"If only you knew what it's like, Mr. Wayne." Alan muttered.
At Gotham University, three of the students known as Duncan, Gwen, and Trent were walking inside of their dormitory while discussing about their actions by stealing money at the penthouse and scaring their classmates at the beach which it made them laugh.
Gwen is a slender gothic young woman with lightly fair skin of average height and average weight. She has relaxed black eyes and thick black-chin length hair in a shaggy bob with dyed teal streaks and dark teal lipstick. She wears black choker and matching black corset with green and admiral blue sleeves that shows her lower midriff, a black and turquoise square pattern pencil miniskirt, greenish gray tights, and black knee-high boots.
Duncan is a muscular young man with fair skin. He has brown eyes with short black hair styled a mohawk. He wears a black sleeveless shirt, dark forest green cargo pants, and black combat boots. He has a tribal tattoo sleeve on his right arm.
Trent is a lean young man. He has black hair reaching down his shoulders, green eyes, and light skin. He wears a tan shirt, tan pants, and black and white shoes.
"Ah man, those frat boys had that one coming when we scare the living pants out of them." Duncan said with a chuckle. "Man, wish we had it on tape."
"Yeah, and we could give them something to be embarrassed about." Gwen adds with a giggle. "Besides, stolen many is like taking candy from a baby."
"Well, we still got time for getting out of here since we were able to get plenty." Trent told them when they're at the elevator as he pulls some several patches out of his shirt. "Also, I've been making more of those. Thanks to the formula and how to make it, it'll be easy."
But once they're at the 2nd floor, they noticed some of the students are in one dorm room which made Trent clenching his fist in annoyance.
"Not again!" Trent said with a scowl.
"What?" Gwen asks.
"The big doofus they give me for a roommate." Trent said as he starts knocking on a door, causing the door to open when an athletic male jock revealed himself with a smirk.
"What do you want?"
"What the hell do you think I want?! This is my room too!" Trent retorted.
"Uh-uh. This party is invitation only, and it's very exclusive."
Trent isn't in a mood for arguing with him considering how much of a jerk he is. About to get inside when an athletic jock shoves him against the wall, causing him to grunt which Emily, Ethan, Lita, Tamao, Elijah, and James took notice.
"What a newbie."
"You okay, man?" Elijah asks, turning to the jock who smirks. "You should tell the dorm advisor about this."
"Mind your own business!" Trent snapped.
"Hey, we're only trying to help you out!" Tamao snapped back, which Trent scoffs as he, Duncan, and Gwen walks away.
"Hey, you guys are invited. C'mon, join the party."
"Shove off, douchebag." James scoffs.
"We've got something better to do than some party." Ethan adds as they left.
An hour later at the water pool from the gym, an athletic jock is swimming around, doing some lap run before he decided to turn in for the night when one of his classmates informed him.
"C'mon, Jake! They're closing for the night!"
"Yeah, yeah."
Though, Jake doesn't seem to care since he wanted to swim a little longer while his classmate left the gym to turn in for the night. Soon as the lights were shut off, Jake kept on swimming when a shadowy figure quiet ran which it causes him to stop swimming. Jake looks around the area, but the shark fin swims from behind which make him and saw Shark swimming, causing him to scream and Shark merged out of the water with a roar. Jake swims out of the pool with a heavy pant but stumbled upon Vulture from behind as she lets out a loud screech and swipes his face with her talons. He grunted in pain, and it got him terrified as he backs away while both Shark and Vulture slowly walks to him. Then, the shadowy figure known as Fox snarls and bites with angry look, showing his canines as Jake screams that was loud enough for Emily and James to hear.
"Um, should we." James said, raising his eyebrow and not wanting to save Jake since he's nothing but a jerk.
"Not like we have a choice." Emily scoffs as she calls her team. "You guys better get our gear ready, looks like Jake had gotten himself into trouble."
At the gym room, Jake kept on running while trying to find somewhere to hide but noticing Fox slowly pursuing him with a growl.
"No...please..."
While Jake tried to back away, it got him tumbled down to the ground.
"Don't worry, I'm only going to make you into more of a party animal." Fox said as he smacks his shoulder, making him grunt and turned over his shoulder to see a patch with dread.
"W-What are you doing?!"
"You'll see." Fox told him with a sinister smirk as the patch began to disappear and Jake grunts, holding his body.
"Hold it!" The voice of Batgirl shouts earned his attention when she and Red Robin (James) were behind him.
Fox makes his move by grabbing hold of 45 LBS weight plates and throws it, making Batgirl and Red Robin (James) to dodge quickly while the weight plates hit the wall. Batgirl and Red Robin (James) front flips and jumps in midair, delivering a flying kick at Fox in the face, making him grunt. Fox then delivers a flurry of swipes with his claws which both Batgirl and Red Robin (James) were able to dodge them with ease, but Fox ran off, ending the fight which left them confused.
"Uh, Batgirl, I think we have a problem." Red Robin (James) warns her, earned her attention when they saw Jake grunts in pain as his eyes were open and starting the transformation.
Back at the pool, Fox got out of the gym with a heavy pant since Shark and Vulture were waiting for him.
"I did it!" Fox grunts, closing the door behind him.
"Then we gotta get out of here, quick!" Shark suggested.
"What's the rush?" The voice of Batman (Ethan) asks, earned their attention and saw him standing with a brooding glare.
Shark plunges down in the pool, swimming after the Dark Knight while Fox and Vulture did the same which Batman (Ethan) narrows his eyes. Shark lunges while Batman (Ethan) dodges to the right and uses his Shock Gauntlets to punches him right in the spine, electrocuted him and Shark screams in pain as he collapses down, knocked out. Vulture lets out a loud screech, trying to swipe him with her talons which Batman (Ethan) ducks down with ease and fires his batclaw to grab hold of her as he pulls her down into the pool. Fox then leaps after him and Batman (Ethan) leaps back, but Fox doesn't give up easily, pursuing after him as he swipes him which the Dark Knight dodges and lands on the bench with a grunt. Fox snarls while tried to swipe him, but Batman (Ethan) delivers a punch to the throat, making him grunt in pain and coughing the air with a gasp. Batman (Ethan) quickly stood up and readied his fighting stance since Fox was able to recover, snarling at him and pursues after him, but earned a backfist in the face which made him whimper like a dog and crashes down to the floor.
Batgirl and Red Robin (James) got out of the gym which it got Batman (Ethan) turning to the two.
"Hey, we got a problem!" Red Robin (James) told him.
"No kidding." Batman (Ethan) remarked, but the loud bang from the door was heard and the big humanoid gorilla destroyed it with a loud roar.
The Terrible Trio decided to leave since the humanoid gorilla got their attention, when it grabs hold of Batgirl with a grip and causing her to scream in pain. Red Robin (James) and Batman (Ethan) threw their batarangs at the gorilla which it deflected them all with the swipe of his arm, charging after them and about to deliver a punch. The two were able to duck down while the humanoid gorilla roars, but Batgirl kicks him in the face, forcing him to lose his grip and she lands next to them.
"Okay, what now?" Batgirl asks.
"Move!" Batman (Ethan) quickly suggested as they ran while the humanoid gorilla pursues, but he crashes the window and lands on the ground, causing the university students to scream and run.
Batman (Ethan), Batgirl, and Red Robin (James) watches the humanoid gorilla to run around the university.
"I called them to let them know what happened to King Kong over there." Red Robin (James) told them.
"Then, we should go help them out. They'll need some help against that monkey." Batman (Ethan) suggested as they went out of the gym room.
The humanoid gorilla went on a rampage at the university, knocking the blocking sheds away along with the football players and a coach, scaring the students and leaps on top of the statue with a roar. Delta fires her tranquilizer rifle while both Catwoman, Batman (Ethan), Batgirl, Red Robin (James) and Red X throw their bolas at the humanoid gorilla, wrapping him around the statue. The humanoid gorilla roars, trying to break free, but the transformation didn't last for long as it reverted back into Jake, who's now unconscious.
At Metropolis during the day, Alex Luthor is having a discussion with Jay Carville since the investment of his inventions went through the roof during the testing and delivering it to the military. Alex is pleased of the progress, but now he's discussing about the new invention.
"The Pentagon is able to get the weapons delivered in time in between Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, and Africa to ensure the safety of the civilians and finding terrorists." Jay explains. "And with that in mind, those pods made sure it prevents anyone from getting those firearms and ammo."
"Thank you, General. But mind you, we're still working on those Kryptonian firearms in case if we're up against Darkseid's alien invaders." Alex told him. "With the Kryptonite we can use, it'll be put to good us when we encounter them. And for another thing-"
"Mr. Luthor, Director Waller is here to have a word with you. She's with Deathstroke and Professor Langstrom."
The meeting is interrupted which it annoys Alex.
"Let her in!" Alex said as the door opens when Nikita, Aaron, and Deathstroke enters inside. "You better have a good reason why you're here, and why is Langstrom out of Tartarus!"
Nikita doesn't respond, walking to his desk and placing the vial of Jake's blood.
"What is this?" Alex asks.
"A blood sample Batman took, there's been an attack at Gotham University last night. And we were wondering if we can borrow some of the equipment, Langstrom is going to whip up an antidote." Nikita explains which Alex began to notice the mutagens on the blood sample.
"Fine, but once he's done, I want him out of this building and Metropolis!" Alex demands with a shout.
Back at Gotham University, Duncan, Trent, and Gwen are watching the news about the incident last night.
"Before they took him away, Police question this so-called 'Gorilla Boy' but got few answers."
"Frankly, we don't know what's been causing this. As of this point, we're ready to call an animal control."
And then, the TV has been turned off since the Terrible Trio enjoys their victory and Jake got what he deserves.
"Ha, looks like you got this room all to yourself now." Gwen said with a chuckle, sitting on a bean bag chair.
"What a coincidence." Trent said with a smirk, lying on his bed as Duncan laughed when Emily and James arrived.
"Hey, what are you laughing at?" Emily asks sternly. "Jake is in the hospital now, it's not funny!"
"Boo-hoo!" Trent mocks since he never cared about Jake as Gwen walk towards them.
"You saw what a jerk he was." Gwen adds.
"No arguments here, but that don't mean he deserves it!" James retorted, crossed his arms seriously.
"People tend to get exactly what they deserve, red! Maybe you and your sister will too." Gwen scoffs with a smirk.
"Wanna bet?" James said, about to pick a fight when Emily grabs his wrist.
"James, forget it, it's not worth it." Emily told him sternly as she and her brother walks out of the dorm, making Gwen closes the door. She then notices something on the floor when she saw a black feather. "What do we have here."
"A black feather, must've coming on one of them." James said when Emily picks it up, but they overheard the laugh which they decided to leave the room.
"I think I know who the next monkey is going to be." Gwen said when the TV is on.
"Shhh, quiet Gwen." Duncan shushed her as they listen to the news.
"We go now live to Gotham University President, Steven Thorton."
"After last nights incident, I'm calling for all Gotham University students to have DNA tests that will determine who's been abusing mutagenic chemicals. Tests will begin tomorrow morning."
Neither of them are too happy about what the Gotham University President have informing the students about the DNA test.
"He can't do that! It's like the invasion of privacy!" Duncan snapped angrily.
"Right, it's not legal! No way I'm doing it!" Trent agrees with a scowl, crossing his arms.
"They'll know it was us if we don't." Gwen points out as Trent pondered a bit. "Trent?"
"Well, what if everyone has their mutagen in their system?" Trent asks with a smirk, crossed his arms while looking at the window to see the students.
"What are you getting at?" Duncan inquires curiously, raising his eyebrow.
"Well, this place has always been a zoo. What if we turn it into one?" Trent suggests, turning to them. "And once the plan is successful, we can grab more money from the riches and use it to got out of this city."
At the Batcave, both Emily and James are analyzing a black feather they just found from the university while Eri is on an arm sling and a cast since she's still hurt and out of action from the explosion few days ago. Ethan, Lita, Tamao, and Elijah arrived in the Batcave after being informed by the two while Bruce is doing paperwork at the Wayne Enterprise, Dick is doing the same at Bludhaven, Jason is working on a 1987 Mecedes-Benz 560SL, and Damian is at the Titans Tower to help train the new generations.
"Is the antidote delivered yet?" Emily asks.
"Yes, Nikita and Jake were able to keep an eye on Aaron, in order for him to make an antidote and not try anything foolish." Ethan explains, showing the antidote. "Alex isn't too happy about this."
"Can't say I blame him." Lita agrees with a scoff.
"Well, we have to hurry, we'll need it soon." James told them.
"You got something?" Tamao asks when Emily found the match of a black feather.
"Yeah, and we found our match for a certain birdbrain and her two stooges." James answered.
"Why can't I come along?" Eri complains.
"Sorry, you're stuck with me unless you want your injury gets worse." Iwao said sternly, causing Eri to pout. "You guys better get moving before the Terrible Trio turns the university into a zoo."
And with that, they grab their gear and equipment to head back to Gotham University.
Back at Gotham University, the university were strolling around in this time of night and the Bat Family, Delta, Red X, and Catwoman were patrolling at the clock tower, watching the students getting ready for the event.
"Sounds like university football game is tonight." Red X said. "The dorms should be empty."
They then fired their grappling hooks, swinging their way to Trent's dorm room.
"Think they're in the game?" Batman (Ethan) inquires.
"They're not much of social types, a group of misfits." Batgirl told him as they begin investigating.
"Everyone fits in somewhere." Batman (Ethan) points out as he found the computer. "The hard part is finding the right place."
"Tell me about it. Not many would fit in anywhere in college, same could be said about being a Pro Hero." Iwao said through the communicator as Batman (Ethan) turns on the computer, noticing the blueprints. "Blueprints! For what?!"
"That's not the only thing." Catwoman said after opening the safe and found a bag full of money. "These guys were stealing money. And if I have to guess, those were from the penthouse few days ago."
"It sounds like we found ourselves some delinquent thieves stolen money and abusing the mutagenic DNA." Iwao said, looking through the blueprints and figuring out where they'll be held. "And if I was a science geek, I'd be at the labs for doing some rocket project or making a chemical that can turn into a freaky animal."
"Then that's where we'll be heading." Delta said seriously.
And Iwao was right, both Trent and Gwen were at the lab room to create a formula that can turn humans into a humanoid animal that can go on a rampage. Gwen is pouring the chemical into the formula, but Trent is getting impatient.
"What are you saving it for?! Put it all in!" Trent shouts, grabbing the chemical and pouring it all the way down to the formula. "I want everybody to get their share!"
"What was that?" Gwen asks when she heard a cheer from the outside.
"Must be the kickoff, our timing is perfect." Trent said with a smirk. "Get the detonator."
Then, the sound of ringing is heard as Trent pulls out a phone and answer it.
"What?!" Trent said in annoyance.
"We've got visitors, it's the Justice League." Duncan warned him when he saw the Bat Family, Catwoman, Red X, and Delta running from the roof.
"I don't believe it! Better get up here!" Trent said, hanging up his phone as he and Gwen began turning themselves into Fox and Vulture.
The Bat Family were now inside of the lab room, seeing the cages have different variety of animals.
"Lab animals." Batgirl said in disgust. "Go figure."
They then turned and saw Vulture and Fox in front of them as they charge after them, but Batgirl and Red Robin (James) pushes them, knocking them down to the floor. But just as they're about to use the antidote, Shark was about to attack from behind when two tranquilizer darts were fired from behind, making him feeling dizzy and collapse down to the ground. Batman (Ethan) tosses the antidote to Delta as she sprayed it on Shark's face, turning him back into a human which made Fox and Vulture shocked with their eyes widen.
Vulture then flies up, trying to grab the antidote which Catwoman cracks her whip grab her, swinging her right against the cage and causing her to crash into the floor. Delta tosses the antidote and Catwoman catches it, spraying the antidote at Vulture which made her turn back into a human.
Fox snarls as he charges after her, but Batman quickly got in front of him as he punches him in the face, knocking him down against the floor.
"Why are you doing this, Fox?" Batman (Ethan) questions with a brooding glare which made Fox smirk.
"I'll tell you, you're an inspiration to me." Fox told him. "When I was a kid, I've read so many comics. Growing up, I saw you beating down criminals and landing on a skyscraper. You had everything I ever wanted: Power, freedom, no one to answer to, and then there was the animal thing, too."
"You might've seen me, but you sure didn't understand." Batman (Ethan) told him.
"Oh, I understand, now! You're a sellout!" Fox retorted. "A flunky for the cops, that's all!"
"And you've turned yourself into a cheap circus act." Batman (Ethan) retorted back, making Fox snarls angrily as he charges after him which made the Dark Knight knocks him out with the Shock Gauntlets, then grabs the antidote after Delta tosses it as he then sprays it which Fox is turned into a human.
Trent groans as he opened his eyes, but Batman (Ethan) grabs hold of him and slams him against the wall.
"Where's the formula?" Batman (Ethan) questions with a brooding glare. "We know you're making it."
Trent isn't going to answer which Batman (Ethan) decided to use another method, dragging him to the reptile glass as he opens it and slowly putting his face to the snakes.
"Last chance, tell us where you've hidden the formula." Batman (Ethan) said.
Trent slowly turns his expression into dread and notices the snakes are about to bite him with a hiss.
"Alright! Alright! It's in the lab! The formula is in the lab!" Trent shouts as Batman (Ethan) pulls him away while Catwoman and Red X heads for the lab to get the formula, but the Dark Knight knocks him out by punching him in the face.
"That's for Robin!" Batman (Ethan) said.
Few minutes later, the GCPD arrested the Terrible Trio while taking the disarming bomb and the mutagen out of the lab.
"I have a feeling they'll be having trouble to fit in at prison." Batgirl states.
"Sounds about right, considering they'll be dealing with convicts." Red X agrees.
At the Gotham State Penitentiary, Trent, Duncan, and Gwen are the mess hall to have something to eat, but the group of criminals are glaring at the former students which made them feel intimidated. Joker turns to the Terrible Trio which he thought of an idea about recruiting them since finding Shigaraki is going to have taken longer than he thought.
"Well, kiddies, how about I make proposition for you." Joker said, earned their attention when they saw him walking to them with a sinister smirk. "How would you like to be port of the Legion?"
