Volume 2 Intro Song: Finale (Original Mix) by Madeon
Team HAZL and Team GREN look at the horde of Goliaths in front of them, along with the King Taijitu and overhead Nevermores.
"Let's do this HAZL," Hedge states to his team. Leonidas, with Omega still amped up with Hedge's lightning energy, takes flight. "Come on, you overgrown birds. Chase me." The Nevermores screech and rush at Leonidas, as he draws them away from everyone. Hedge, Anne, and Zion rush in at the Goliaths. Gable smiles as he sees Team HAZL execute their plan.
Echo speaks to him. "Should we help them?"
Gable chuckles. "Well we can't just stand around and do nothing." He looks at the King Taijitu. "Looks like we got the snake. Though, we should help along with the Goliaths too. Echo, Napa. You guys help with those. Rackley, you're with me on the Taijitu."
Echo and Napa jump to assist HAZL. "Copy that."
Rackley readies his weapon next to his best friend and team leader. "How you want to take care of this?" as the giant snake hisses at the two boys.
Gable: "Quickly, if that wasn't obvious."
Rackley just laughs. "Don't need to be sarcastic, asshole."
Hedge runs around the Goliaths with his hover shoes trying to draw their attention, while Anne, Zion and Napa shoot from a far with their weapons at the undercarriages of them. Echo joins Hedge with running around trying to draw openings for their teammates to land their shots, but the Goliaths' giant hooves block most of the shots and rockets. Echo tries to throw his whips at one of the goliaths' legs to pull it off balance, but it catches on to what he is trying to do and yanks Echo around.
"Echo, hold on." Napa yells out, but the force of the thrashing from the giant Grimm causes Echo to lose his grip on his whips and is sent flying. Hedge sees this and teleports into the trajectory of Echo's flying and catches him midair.
"Gotcha."
Echo opens his eyes and looks up at Hedge. "Never thought I'd see a Faunus saving a human. You sure you weren't in the White Fang?"
"You do know I can just drop you, right?" Hedge with his hover shoes active, both hovering midair.
"Touché. Nice catch." Hedge lands the both of them back down, while the rest regroup with them. The Goliaths roar into the sky above, which gets the attention of some of the Nevermores that were chasing Leonidas. Leonidas, on the other hand, slashes Omega with the empowered lightning strikes thanks to Hedge, and he is able to make quick work of the ones that were headed back to help the Goliaths.
Hedge: "Well that takes care of those for now. Zion, utilize your other sniper mode. I have a plan." Zion doesn't hesitate, combining Light to the backside of Shadow.
Zion: "Done. Now what?"
Hedge: "When I say so, shoot each of the Goliaths. Anne, I then want you to strike them all up into the sky. I'll take care of the rest."
"What about us?" Napa says as he hands Echo back his whips.
"Napa, do as much damage as you can on the Goliaths before I deal with them. Echo, join me again in getting their attention." Both nod at Hedge.
"Initiate." Hedge and Echo run around the Goliaths, lightning spears and whip slashes being thrown at the Goliaths to turn them away from everyone else. Napa then throws some of his dust grenades under each of the Goliaths which causes them to roar out in pain.
"Now Zion!" Zion shoots all the Goliaths with his high-caliber gravity focus sniper, which stops all them in their tracks. Anne runs up to each of them and takes huge swings underneath to knock them up in the air. Zion follows up again shooting each of them to keep them stationary in the air.
"Showtime." Hedge charges up electricity and his hover shoes, taking Chaos and Destruction out of their sheathes and pointing them high above his head. His sprint turns into an electrical drill spin, blasting towards the Goliaths. He spearheads each of the Goliaths from below and runs them through, each dissolving a few seconds afterwards. Napa then takes out his sniper and helps Leonidas take out the rest of the Nevermores. Leonidas then lands next to everyone, Hedge following suit. They all notice the King Taijitu's body fall too, having been defeated by Gable and Rackley. Both regroup with everyone else.
Gable speaks up. "Well done. That was well executed. You guys sure have gotten much stronger since we last saw all of you."
Hedge walks up to Gable. "I may still not know what Ozpin planned to give you guys, but…" Everyone waits for Hedge to finish his sentence. "Thanks." He extends his hand out to Gable.
Gable reciprocates the handshake. "Anytime. You guys should head back to Beacon. I'm sure you all are exhausted."
"Ain't that the truth." Zion says. Hedge makes the call on his scroll for their pilot to come and pick them up at their campsite, and all of Team HAZL start to head there, but Leonidas turns to Rackley.
Leonidas: "Hey Rackley, can I have your scroll number? I would like to continue talking to you about 'you know what.'" Rackley took a little bit to realize what Leonidas was talking about, but then it clicked in his mind, so he obliges. "I'll keep in touch," he says as he starts to head back to the campsite with the others, leaving Team GREN behind.
"Do you think they have what it takes to be great Huntsmen and Huntress, Gable?" Napa asks as he starts to put away his weapons.
"Only time will tell, Napa."
"They each have their strengths, but I still believe they could become divided based on their attitudes." Echo states.
"And if what I sensed makes its way to the surface, things could become worse, for them and everyone else." Rackley adds.
Gable: "You're all correct, but all that can be avoided if they continue to work on their weaknesses, both individually and as a team. This mission most definitely opened their eyes to all of that." Gable states as they all see Team HAZL fly away in their airship back to Beacon.
Team HAZL arrive back at Beacon in a short time. "Thanks for the ride." Hedge says to the pilot, then he teleports his team back to their dorm room. It's still early afternoon, so they drop off their bags and also decide to get a bite to eat at the cafeteria. Along their walk, they notice Team RWBY walk out of class with Sun running up to Blake. "I'll catch up with you guys later." Hedge says to his team. By the time Hedge walks up to Team RWBY and Sun, Blake had already started walking away, but he had overheard the ending part of the conversation between her and Sun.
"Well, I caught the tail-end of that but, that didn't seem to go well, did it?"
Sun just walked away with his head down, but Ruby, while being a little sad with how Blake handled the question from Sun, was also excited to see Hedge again.
Ruby: "Hey Hedge. How'd your mission go?"
Hedge: "Well, it started out with just dealing with Grimm in the immediate area for a few days, then it escalated to running into old rivals for us, followed by fighting more Grimm. What was that all about with Blake and Sun?"
Weiss answers Hedge's question. "Sun asked Blake to the dance."
Hedge: "Dance? How much did we miss while we were on the mission?"
Ruby, Weiss, and Yang explain to Hedge everything that had happened after Team HAZL had left on their mission: learning about the White Fang's secret hideout in the southeast, said group also stealing some of Atlas' technology, and that Torchwick had a new henchgirl.
Hedge: "Wow, I'm jealous you guys were able to fight Torchwick again. I wouldn't have allowed that girl he had to rescue him though." He places his hand under his chin, pondering. "A dance huh? Hmm, that gives me an idea. I think I already have a date in mind."
The girls look at each other then back at Hedge. Ruby speaks next. "Who?"
Yang: "Come on Rubes. Isn't it obvious who his date would be?"
Ruby gasps. "Anne?!?!"
Hedge: "Correct. She's always had a crush on me ever since we were placed on the same team. In fact, she was my partner in our initiation test back at Shade. I'll be honest, over time I've…sort of…started to like her too." He blushes as saying that.
Weiss: "Well I'll be, Hedge. Never thought you'd be the type of guy to look for a relationship, given how you act sometimes."
Hedge chuckles. "Point taken, ice queen."
Weiss: "Hmph."
Hedge smiles at her. "Anyway, during my time here in Vale, before they had arrived from Vacuo, I went around to the shops to find something to give her. I think it'll really make her day."
Yang's eyes grow huge upon hearing that. "Wait…are you thinking of doing what I think you are going to do?!"
Hedge blushes and grows a grin on his face as he looks back at her, confirming her suspicions.
Yang: "By the brother gods! You are coming with me to find a decent suit and overall attire, after we…" she grabs Ruby and Weiss, "deal with Blake." She rushes them back to the dorm in an comedic way to go talk with Blake, while Hedge turns back around and heads off to the cafeteria to meet up with his team, and ask Anne out to the dance on Sunday. He looks up in the sky to see the flying Atlas ships as well.
"Atlas is here too, huh? That should mean the General should be here too. Interesting."
