The entire Ministry was on high alert, Aurors secretly swarmed the streets of muggle cities and wanted posters were put up, all for the search for Ginny Potter, Luna Lovegood, and Neville Longbottom. All were put into effect by Hermione, who publicly seemed hurt and betrayed by her friends' murder spree, but she was the one who fabricated the evidence. Truthfully, she knew they were responsible for the deaths of Goyle, Pansy, Fleur, and most likely Draco, but they didn't leave any hard evidence other than piles of corpses.

Draco though? She didn't know what happened to him. She knew that Ginny learned that the Templars knew about McGonagall from him, after all, she did show up. Hermione didn't know if he was alive or not, not that it mattered right now, she was back in Diagon Alley heading to Gringotts. Before she could reach it, she passed by Weasley's Wizards Wheezes, which had Aurors posted outside as well as her brother-in-law George. Something had upset him greatly.

Don't stop… You must go to the Amplifier. Our plan must be enacted.

The Templar voices spoke to her, their voices amplified tenfold now. She really should keep going, but something bugged her about George. She walked over to him and got down low to meet his eyes.

"George? What happened?"

George looked up, "Oh… Hermione, I wish I wasn't the one who had to tell you…"

"What are you talking about?"

"It's about Ron. He was found dead. Killed in the night. Stabbed to death."

Hermione knew who had killed him. She had to have killed him. That murdering bitch. Hermione stood up and stormed towards Gringotts. She moved to the desk and drew the axe.

"I would like to open a vault. I believe this is the key. It's an ancient one, so I believe it is unnumbered."

The goblin nodded, "Of course, yes… I've heard of that axe… Come, follow me."

He slid himself off of the chair and began to walk, Hermione following in pursuit.

"Well, the entrance to the vault is fairly unorthodox, you see, the cart tracks don't reach that far down."

They walked even further in getting to the cart track. The goblin waved his hand and the cart moved away, revealing only the small gap between the railings. He motioned for Hermione to approach.

"Well, here you are. Good luck."

"Wait, how am I supposed to reach the vault?"

"Oh, it was in the instructions of the vault, we were told that the person who comes to reclaim it would already know how, and to have faith.

Hermione knew. The axe belonged to the Assassins, so naturally, the way down would be known to them. Hermione backed up and then broke into a sprint, leaping off of the balcony, she dove.

Falling…

Into the darkness…

The tracks were gone…

Just the blackness of the void…

She fell for two minutes…

She began to slow…

She was brought safely to a complete stop. Standing in front of her was a small door. There was a triangular indent in it. Hermione took out the axe and broke it off of the handle, she placed it into the indent as the door moved backwards then down into the floor.

Hermione had done it, she found the Amplifier.

A familiar sight greeted Ginny, an old beat up house. It was a small part of a much larger building complex. It was 12 Grimmauld Place. It was supposed to be for the Order of the Phoenix, in case it ever needed to be reformed. Harry had the fidelius placed over it again recently, with her as its secret keeper. It was done so recently, Ginny had yet to reveal its location to Hermione and Ron. She relayed the information to Luna and Neville.

Ever since Kreacher had died, Harry had kept trophies and artefacts from his journeys as an Auror and before. Mostly harmless things such as the last known death eater's mask hung high on a wall, on another hung all of his past broomsticks that were still intact, and even rewards he's gotten for his work. They moved to the dining area and all took seats.

Ginny said, "So… We need to stop Hermione. We don't have time to sit and mourn. She has three Isu relics. Who knows what she could do with them?"

Luna leaned forwards, "Perhaps we might be able to find another Templar?"

Neville leaned back, "For all I know, we killed every top Templar agent who'd know anything."

Ginny said, "Wait… I heard about another Templar. Goes by the General. I think he also works at the ministry."

Harry's face had an expression of dread and knowingness to it.

Ginny looked at him, "Harry, do you know something?"

He sighed, "When I was working around the ministry, I had to visit someone. On his desk, he was writing a letter he signed as The General."

"Harry… Who is it?"

"Percy…"

"I'm not going to kill him, but if I need to beat it out of him, I will."

If he's anywhere, it's in his office at the Ministry. He was the assistant of the Minister. It's the safest place, especially because Ginny, Luna, and Neville were wanted, but Harry? He was new to this. He was an important Auror, and everyone who knew about his treason was dead.

Merlin's beard… What was Harry thinking? This was dangerous. All he had to do was get Percy to walk outside so Ginny could grab him. However, if he was ever found out, there'd be no escape. Trapped kilometres under London, surrounded by people who wanted to kill him.

The Ministry was more crowded today than usual, there were more Aurors here than Harry remembered there being. Those must be the disguised Templar agents Ginny mentioned, they were heavily concentrated around Percy's office. This was insane. His wife was part of a secret order that she apparently had been in since Hogwarts, and his two closest friends were also embroiled in the same conflict. It sounded like Ginny didn't want to kill Percy. He needed to make sure he lived through this, and the best way was to help. Harry knew that Percy would be in his own office. He tried to walk to the door but was stopped by the fake aurors.

"Excuse me, I need to see Percy. Could I enter?" Harry asked.

"Mr. Weasley isn't taking any visitors. He needs time to mourn the death of his brother."

"I'm sorry, but it's very important. I am your boss, I'm giving you an order. Let me in," Harry demanded.

"Ha! Mr. Important here? You're my boss, are you? Who the fuck even are you? You're nobody."

The door burst open as Pecry placed a hand on the auror's shoulder, "Dougan, I know you're a new hire and all, but that man is your boss," he turned to Harry, "Harry! Please ignore these men, they don't know anything. Come in, what do you need?"

Harry entered the office. There were papers everywhere. Percy himself looked as if he hadn't gotten any sleep.

"Percy, can they hear us in this room?" Harry asked.

Percy shook his head, pulled out his wand, and cast Muffliato, "What is it Harry…" Percy paused, realizing what Harry was here for, "Oh no, you're one of them, aren't you? An Assassin? Or is this about Ginny being wanted for murder?"

Harry sighed, "No, Percy. I didn't know about any of this until recently. It's… I don't know. I don't want to be involved, but it sounds like things are getting pretty bad out there. I don't want you to die, Percy. Ginny doesn't want to as well. She just needs to know about Hermione."

Percy looked nervous, "I just… Hermione will… Fine. Gringotts. There is an unmarked vault deep in the bank," Percy walked to his desk, pulled out a quill, wrote a note, stamped it shut, and handed it to Harry, "This should get you into the vault she was in. Whatever she had found before all this corrupted her mind. There's no coming back from something like that."

Harry nodded and began to leave the office. The ground shook beneath him, sending both Harry and Percy to the ground. Harry stumbled out of the office and noticed the other people just standing from the quake. Another quake struck, and the ceiling of a nearby room collapsed on those still inside. The wizards began to scream in terror and rush to the exit. Harry tried to push through the crowd. He needed to get this to Ginny. The sea of wizards was impenetrable. Another ceiling collapsed on a group of wizards trying to flee. There haven't been any major earthquakes strong enough to damage the ministry as far as Harry ever knew. Whatever happened would be bad up top as well.

He tried to push through the hordes. Every person was trying to do the same, some other wizards got trampled under the waves of fleeing people. Harry then had an idea. He pulled out his wand and flicked it. He kept his old Nimbus in his office. It was broken, but Harry had been attempting to restore it. There was only one way to see if it worked. His broom hovered above him. Harry jumped up and pulled himself up, as he'd had to do in the many times he had fallen off before.

Harry soared above the others until he reached the atrium. The Nimbus gave out beneath him and he tumbled to the ground. The atrium itself was overcrowded, even with every wizard disapparating. Harry himself disapparated.

Ginny was sitting on top of the Clock Tower at Westminster. She was worried about Harry. She purposefully kept him out of this stuff, unlike Neville and Hannah. Though she felt she was right to have, seeing as Hannah was now dead. She just had to wait. Harry was able to defeat Voldemort, surely extracting Percy would be easy for him. Ginny finally had time to think. She sat here, looking out over London. It looked peaceful. Nobody knew about the secret world of the wizards, and even less about the secret war between the Assassins and Templars. Most people she knew were dead. What did she even have left? Harry. If something happened to him, she didn't know what she'd do.

She was nearly thrown off the tower as the ground began to shake. It was more violent than anything else. She had heard of quakes like this, an Apple of Eden had caused a similar one in Lisbon in 1755. Hermione had found something under London, and it wasn't good. Westminster Bridge collapsed into the Thames along with the people still on it. Buildings began to collapse as well. The Clock Tower seemed to be standing though. Ginny did everything she could to not fall off.

Harry apparated next to her. He fell as Ginny stuck out a hand and pulled him up.

"Where's Percy?" Ginny asked.

"He handed me this. Get it to Gringotts. I'll go with—"

"No! Get to safety, you've done more than enough. Regroup with Neville and Luna, please. You're all I have left, Harry."

"Alright. Be safe Ginny, I love you."

Ginny rushed into Gringotts. She dashed to the desk and slammed down the letter, "Before you evacuate, I need to get in here."

The goblin at the desk picked up the letter, "Gringotts is a very stable building. No quake will knock it down. This letter is from The General, eh? Yes, I can get you down there. Grandmaster Granger should be down there. Follow me.

They took the same path Hermione did. The goblin waved the cart away and pointed out the hole in the tracks. Ginny nodded, she knew what she had to do. She leapt. She entered the open doors and stalked through the caves. There were strange geometrical shapes scattered along the walls and floors, eventually they all led to one single door. It was open. It led to a large device. Standing at it was Hermione.

The device itself was large and geometrical. It stood above a large chasm with only a small walkway connecting it to the cave floor. At the center, the axe floated in the air, with some strange energy. Bright golden lines were flashing in the air. Symbols, writings, and other diagrams were flashing in the same colour. Hermione was enthralled with the symbols. Ginny thought she could just approach, but she didn't want to take any chances. Hermione had two Isu artefacts. She was dangerous and not her normal self. There was only one way this could end. The cave itself was shaking violently, but this room was sturdy. There were no vibrations.

Ginny looked around for any way she could approach silently and unseen. She noticed a few rock outcroppings. She began to run. Every jump brought her up higher. She eventually got on top of the device. She positioned herself right above Hermione and leapt.

Ginny tackled Hermione to the ground, flicked out her blade, and stabbed her through the eye. Her hand went limp. The Apple rolled into the chasm and the device powered down. Everything went white.

Hermione spoke, "I… I can think clearly now… All the things I've done. All the people I've lost. Whatever that Apple did to me, it's gone."

"Yeah, and I am sorry, Hermione. I never meant to kill Ron, or well, I only didn't mean to kill him. That's not the point. You were becoming a tyrant. London is in ruins because of what happened!"

"It wasn't all the Apple. It brought out parts of me I tried to never think about. It's all my fault.

"You're right about that. It is your fault."

"I'm the Grandmaster of the Wizarding Rite, Ginny. There are others. Abstergo."

Hermione turned to dust as Ginny snapped back to reality. There she was, kneeling over the corpse of her old friend.
