My Home

"Where are you, are you safe?"

Cassie nodded as she looked out the window, phone in hand. "Yes, I'm at my grandfather's estate in Hong Kong."

Grandmother Sakura once visited the mansion with Auntie Madison when they were little girls. Sakura won a prize to go to Hong Kong, but Kero and magic always said. There is no such thing as coincidences. Only inevitability.

"Do you remember when we first met in high school?" asked Cassie. "Our friends would tell me how so much more stiff you were, but even back then you were still stiff."

They both laughed.

"Guess I still am stiff, now…" mused Seto.

"I can't blame you for the way you are," began Cassie. "Loosing your parents and what Gozoburo did to you… You convinced him to adopt you, so you and Mokuba could have a better life."

If he didn't do that, then Kaiba Corp wouldn't go from weapons manufacturing to card collecting production. And everyone's lives would be different.

Aside from Mokuba telling her about Gozoburo years ago when they were teenagers, it was proof that he wasn't that bad of a person.

But if he wasn't that bad of a person, then how come she packed her bags and got on a plane to Hong Kong?

"And you and Hannah and Will are also apart of that better life, Cass. And I missed it," said Seto. "I promised you on the day I married you, I would go through life with you, for better or for worse. This is worse, and I want to walk through it with you."

She touched the ring on her left hand, tears in her eyes.

"So, please…" He continued. "Come home. Come home where the kids will be next month. They need you."

She sank to the couch, more tears flowing.

Her husband's voice still went on. "I need you."

And she needed him as well.

"I love you…" she sobbed. "I love you so much."

"I love you, Cass…"
