Chapter 1
Hidden Manor
It's been 11 years now since the defeat of the Dark Lord at the hands of Harry Potter the-boy-who-lived, many witches and wizards celebrated for many weeks and some even months. It was a celebration, knowing that never again will the wizarding world be held by fear.
But for a certain 11-year-old, it was the first time she'd be allowed outside the manor of her father. After so long of being locked away, she was finally allowed to have friends.
"Young Master please, wait!" a house elf named Doni called out.
"No! I don't want to wear a ribbon; ribbons make it hard for me to breathe!" Dimetres replied. As she continued to circle her room. It was spacious, spacious enough that the house elf could not help to catch her, and it seemed Doni would never catch her as the young miss went from one side to the next as if she was apparating.
"Doni will be punished by your father, please young master let Doni do what her master wants" Doni begged. And it was here, young Dimetres hesitated for a moment as the house elf caught up to her.
"Doni! I order you to let go!" Dimetres screamed, but it was no use. Doni was doing the bidding of her master, and nothing would stop Doni from doing the orders of her master.
Doni finished wrapping the green ribbon around the maroon-colored dress of her master much to the dismay of the black hair girl.
"Master said to bring little miss to his studies"
"Fine." Said Dimetres pouting while hesitantly following the house elf
Hidden Manor Study Room
Inside her father's studies, Dimitres could not wait to get out. The blue walls were boring her, and the dancing light around did not help to quell her boredom. She wanted to go out now; she wanted to see the outside world that her Aunt Silia always told stories of her about.
"Your Aunt Silia will come to visit you, and take you to Diagon Alley until then, you will stay inside the manor." To say that Dimetres was annoyed was an understatement, but she knew better than to question her father's motive. She left the studies annoyed. "Aunt Silia please come quick," said the girl impatiently.
Hidden Manor Library
Dimetres waited for her aunt to arrive, and to pass the time, she went to the manor's library to reread another book. There weren't many books in their library collection, but she had to make do as any words of complaint would be met by severe punishments from her father.
For this day, Dimetres decided to reread a peculiar book titled "The Art of Dueling." She had read the book the first time when her father told her to. And after that, she was made to recite each concept of the book word for word. It was embarrassing to her to admit, but she never understood half the concepts of this book. She still remembered some of the concepts like (1) Use the environment to your advantage, (2) Speed over power, and (3) Avoid over-blocking.
Although she didn't understand half of the books in the library, she read them all. Now that she had to wait for her aunt to visit her again, no word of complaint came out of her mouth as she sat on her favorite sofa inside the library while reading a book like it was the first time all over again.
Aunt Silia… To the girl, was the closest thing to a mother she had. Unlike many of her relatives, Aunt Silia always visited her. She enjoyed her aunt's company, but often, she felt sad when she wasn't allowed to visit Castle Agatha. Never has she stepped foot on the castle she always saw in the blueprints that were scattered around library books. She heard from her aunt that it was like a shining blue jewel surrounded by vines of gold, but she scarcely believed the ravings of the woman. She didn't know what to believe, all she knew of in the world was what was in the books that she had read over and over again.
She was silently reading while the air sang inside the library walls when she heard a knock." Little One, I know you're there," she heard Aunt Silia's sweet voice and ran towards the door to open it. The girl couldn't contain her happiness as after 5 months of just her, her father, and Doni, the house elf, her aunt visited again. She hugged Aunt Silia upon seeing the black dragon hide coat of the woman. "There there, little one, we have much to do so let us go now," The brown-haired woman said as she held the hands of Dimetres.
"I understand Aunty, but I want to inform Father first" Dimetres replied as her aunt nodded.
She went to her father's study as her aunt waited for her at the entrance hall.
"Father, I will now be taking my leave for the time being," Dimetres said, hoping that her tone was covered in respect instead of the excitement inside her heart. She bowed and moved beside her father and kissed him on the cheeks. "Don't wander off, and follow your aunt"
were the only words her father said as she left the room.
She reached the entrance hall and saw her Aunt just waiting beside the doorway
"Are you ready now my beautiful niece?" Asked Aunt Silia
"Yes" was all she could say before taking her Aunt's arms as they apparated.
Leaky Cauldron- Diagon Alley
Arriving at the Leaky Cauldron, Dimetres couldn't contain her excitement she was seeing so many new things she tried to take a closer look at a tall poll that had a white circular object at its top when she was suddenly stopped by her aunt. "Little one, I advise you to follow me and never let go of my hand." So many things her aunt told her about, it was more magical than magic itself.
She held on to her aunt as they walked inside the leaky cauldron.
"Ahh red eyes and a thick coat even for a man," A man behind the pub commented "To what I owe the pleasure of serving The Most Noble House of Astarte?"
"Another member of the family will be attending Hogwarts; surely you would give me a discount later, shopkeeper," replied her aunt. Dimetres gave a confused expression as if asking I'm attending Hogwarts? The most prestigious school for magical children that Hogwarts? I thought I was just outside to maker friends. Dimetres felt excitement rise as she wondered how it would feel to go to school instead of being tutored by her father.
"Hahaha, your answers always make me forget you are a pureblood, Silia." As the shopkeeper looked at Dimetres and took a moment to understand the assignment "I have high hopes for you little heiress, do forgive my informality, and welcome to Diagon Alley it seems I have to update my gossip while you both do as you do."
Her question was forgotten as they walked through a now-open wall.
"Dear Dimetres, I saw how you looked and yes your father received the letter from Hogwarts of your admission and decided that you will attend school"
"Does that mean I'll be able to make friends?" Dimetres asked curiously.
"Oh yes, you will" Her aunt replied while pinching her cheek.
"From your acceptance letter, it says here you will need three sets of plain black robes, one pointy hat, thick gloves, and a black winter coat. For your books, it seems you will need the same books your father read while he was at Hogwarts unfortunately for us our "lord" threw them all away" Her Aunt commented as they began walking towards a bookstore.
Entering, she had never seen so many books in one place, even the manor library seemed small but she couldn't help but ask why the manor books weren't in the store.
"Hogwarts first year, I reckon," said the older woman behind the shop. "Your intuition is correct madam" her aunt replied as the shopkeeper began getting the books she needed.
When it came to paying for the books, she saw her aunt pulling out a rosette of some kind, as the shopkeeper bowed in thanks. What was that rosette? She asked herself.
Getting her robe size measured, she couldn't help but admire the maroon dress she wore and the green ribbon that, for some miracle, did not make her breathing hard. Her shoulder-length deep black wavy hair was complemented by her near-perfect face, porcelain skin, and gorgeous scarlet eyes. She was beautiful in all sense of the word. "Mhh, the robes of the young lady will be finished in an hour; I'll grab the other required things while I make her robes, my lady."
It was strange to her that people around them were being so formal, she knew that her name was important, but she did not know why people seemed so indifferent towards them, especially to her aunt.
Entering Olivander's shop made Dimetres' excitement sky-high, but she had to wait outside while her aunt took a nap leaning on a wall because someone was still inside the shop. A boy from what she guessed was her age was trying out wands and failing to find the wand that would choose him. Observing closer, she saw a scar on his forehead and green eyes like emerald she was mesmerized by the boy but didn't know who he was.
After some time, the boy was chosen by a wand, and a rather large man knocked on the glass beside her carrying a very white-looking owl inside a cage as he called out to the boy inside the shop.
So that was the name of the boy inside, "Harry" She couldn't wrap her mind around the feeling that she had heard that name before.
When the Harry boy left the shop along with the large man it was her's and aunt's turn to go inside.
"A lady of the Astarte Family and a daughter. Say, my lady, would you be the one that holds a Balck Walnut wand 12 inches with a dragon heartstring?"
"You guess correctly, Mr. Olivander, but today I came with the order to escort my niece Dimetres to have all that she needs to study in Hogwarts" Her aunt replied to Mr. Olivander.
Dimetres couldn't help it she was too excited, but before she could look around the shelves she remembered the iron group of her aunt.
"Alright then young Astarte, I think this just the wand for you," said Mr. Olivander.
It took a long time before Dimetres found the perfect wand for her. On her first try the wand went flying all over the place, on her second the wand burned a part of her hair, and on her third went straight through the shopkeeper's desk.
"Here, Yew wood 13 inches dragon heart string" Mr. Olivander proclaimed. "This wand has been in my collection for a very long time now, always temperamental when tried by previous customers"
Dimetres slowly grabbed the wand from its box and tried to cast a basic spell her father had taught her. Instead of having a wand violently fly out of her hands or burn her hair, it was calm, and it glowed brightly as it followed her command. "Perfect," Mr. Olivander said. "The wand has chosen you, it was by far my most temperamental wand. The wand will grow the wizard, and the wizard will grow the wand. Hopefully, that relationship will help you control the emotions of the wand young one which I no doubt you will."
After getting her wand, her aunt went back to get her robes before she was left in a food shop called a "restaurant." She waited, and she saw many children her age. She saw witches and wizards walking about and realized that this was the first time she had seen so many people with excitement dying down she couldn't help but feel anxious without her aunt. These people were giving her glances also, and she didn't know why. She survived the feeling by just waiting for her aunt, and as they were eating, she asked. With her anxiousness came the questions that flooded her mind, but only one managed to make it out of her mouth.
"Aunt Silia, why are other people's eyes so different from us?"
"It's because of the blood we carry" was all that Aunt Silia Stated.
"Before we leave, your father asked me to take you to a pet store."
A pet? Dimetres' excitement flared once again.
Hidden Manor
She left Diagon Alley with a wand, and all the things she would need in Hogwarts, but most important of all she managed to grab a cat.
The cat was on the chubby side, but that didn't stop her from claiming the black and white feline as her own. Now she was happy to the fullest, Now she just needed to wait a few more days and she would be outside again with her companion cat.
Her aunt went to her father's study but before she could follow behind she was told to go to bed.
Hidden Manor Study Room
"Silia how are things at Castle Agatha?" Asked Vilhelm Astarte
"It has become hectic, Her lordship is slowly dying" answered Silia Astarte
"And what is the importance of this news bring us?"
"It means that shortly, we will all feel the call of the wand, and if it is either one of us that is chosen, we can see to it that our brother in Azkaban be freed"
"But why should we free him? He has betrayed our blood"
It was clear to both of them that they had opposing views on the matter, and one had to concede if their fragile alliance was to survive.
"Think about it, Silia, because of him we have lost our seat at the Wizengamot and we are labeled as the Dark Lord's followers, and it was also because of him Castle Agatha was sieged for a time" Now standing up and circling his studies it was clear to Silia that he would not back down from his proposition.
"And yet if we free him we might have an ally inside the Dark Lord's inner circle, and we both know that the Dark Lord will return Vilhelm, We are too versed in the dark arts to feign ignorance"
"He has already betrayed us once, why are you so steadfast in thinking he can become an ally?"
"Because we both know our brother Vilhelm. He follows the Dark Lord because he was cast out by our mother after father died and if we bring him back to the fold, he will be our brother once more. I am sure of it."
"You have a promising proposition, let us decide on which one we will execute if either one of us is chosen by the wand," Vilhelm concluded the plan.
Silia stared blankly for a moment but sighed and answered knowing that Vilhelm was the more promising candidate "Very well Vilhelm."
