Snarfer's Return

Snarfer was calling the Tower of Omens. "Come in, Tower of Omens."

"We read you, Snarfer," Mana replied.

"Oh, hi, Mana," Snarfer said. "I'm entering your atmosphere now."

Snarf pushed Mana aside and began instructing his nephew. "Watch your angle of entry or you'll burn up when you hit our atmosphere."

"Relax, Uncle Snarf," Snarfer said. "I programmed it all."

"Did you do it right?" Seto asked. Before he could receive a response, the alarms started blaring.

"He's off course," said Lynx-O.

"Dang blast it," Joseph grunted, causing Freya to giggle. She figured her love had been spending too much time with Panthro, causing him to talk like the panther.

"It's not his fault," said Lynx-O. "A thermoconduit snapped.

"A what?" Joseph asked.

"He means the systems have gone faulty," Seto clarified. "Still, we should have the boy come up on visual by now." But nothing was showing on the telescreen. "Snarfer, are you getting back on course?"

"Oh, sure, Master Seto," Snarfer answered with that same carefree tone. "Yes, sir, no sweat."

In Sky-Tomb, deep in Dark Side, the Lunataks were also monitoring Snarfer's arrival. They figured the young Snarf would burn up after all. Luna had a different idea. She figured that this young Snarf could be useful to her and her comrades.

Snarfer was trying to keep calm, but piloting his ship was proving harder than he thought. Still, he managed to get back in control. But not back on course. He was going to land in Dark Side, close to the Lunataks' home.

"Snarfer, can you read me?" Seto asked.

"I read you, Master Seto," Snarfer replied. "Yep, loud and clear."

"Listen carefully to my instructions," the brunette was saying. "You're coming down in very dangerous territory. When you land, get out of your ship and hide. We'll come get you. Do you understand?"

"Yep, I got you," Snarfer replied. "Yep, no sweat." Unfortunately, his ship crashed, but at least he was unharmed. "Not exactly a textbook landing, but any landing you can walk away from is a good landing," he said to himself. He was still feeling a little wobbly on his feet, but that was natural, given he had been sitting down for hours in his spaceship.

Dark Side was still an eerie and foreboding place to look at. "They said I'd come down on enemy territory," he said to himself. "And the worst thing about enemy territory is that there's enemies in it!" He shrieked as he saw Sky-Tomb and began running away. But he wouldn't be getting far. Sky-Tomb was too fast to avoid. "Where are you, ThunderCats? Where are you, Children of Millennia? Where are you, Uncle Snarf?"

Sky-Tomb stopped and landed. Snarfer figured he could hide if he dug a hole and buried himself.

Riding in the Thunderstrike, the heroes began making their way to Dark Side through the Forest of Mists. "If we don't find Snarfer before the Lunataks get to him-,"

"I know, Jirachi," Bengali interrupted. "Try not to think about it."

"We'll find him," Lynx-O promised.

With Red-Eye's super vision, he was able to see the Thunderstrike coming through the Forest of Mists. He could also detect some sort of radar that the heroes were using to navigate through the Forest of Mists. It was Lynx-O using his braille board. Red-Eye figured that if he could jam the braille board, it would render Lynx-O helpless and cause him and his friends to be blindly flying through the Forest of Mists. He began working on it right away.

The heroes still managed to get out of the Forest of Mists, but they had no idea what happened. "The Lunataks are jamming the braille board," said Lynx-O. "And without it, I am truly blind."

"Oh, no," Jirachi groaned. "We were relying on the braille board to find Snarfer."

"They may have jammed the braille board," Lion-O was saying, "but they forgot about the Sword of Omens." Using the power of sight beyond sight, he saw Snarfer being chased around by the Lunataks. "You'd best stay here, Lynx-O. The rest of us will split up to cover more ground." And the heroes headed out.

Out in Dark Side, the Lunataks were also looking for Snarfer. TugMug managed to spot him digging around. He reached for Snarfer, but the young Snarf fiercely bit down on his hand. Snarfer continued digging again. TugMug bounced after him, only to end up getting stuck in a hole.

"Nice move," Alluro complimented Snarfer. He was still in pain from when Sakuya bit him, but he wasn't going to let it deter him from catching Snarfer. "Impressive, but primitive. Now, me, I'm different. You don't stand a chance against me." He swung his club and the sphere shined above Snarfer, commanding him to give in.

"Snarfs never give in," Snarfer bragged. He jumped, bouncing the sphere with his head and butting it away. After that, he began running again.

Alluro chased Snarfer up a tree and began climbing up after him. Once more, he told the young Snarf to give up. Snarfer saw that there was a giant hornet nest in the tree. The hornets here were twice the size of humans and their sting was a hundred times more potent. Snarfer got an idea. He would attack the nest to attract the attention of the hornets. He hoped that they would go after Alluro instead of him.

Sure enough, it was working. The hornets began attacking Alluro, failing to notice Snarfer. "No, go away," Alluro cried. The honey from the nest began spilling out as well, getting all over Alluro and making him slip off. He didn't know which experience was worse; Sakuya biting him in the rear or being attacked by hornets. Either way, it was still humiliating.

This was Snarfer's chance to get away. He began jumping from limb to limb across the trees. Looking out on the horizon, he didn't see any enemies and he figured that the coast was clear. But when he climbed down, he came upon Chilla. She managed to stop him by freezing him with her ice breath.

"No one escapes from Chilla, least of all a pathetic Snarfer," she sneered. She picked him up and began carrying him back to Sky-Tomb.

Lion-O managed to see it through the Sword of Omens. He was going to need everyone's help. He raised the Sword of Omens and sent out the signal. Bengali, Pumyra, Jirachi, and Snarf saw it and hurried to help Lion-O.

The lion managed to catch up to Chilla and use the Sword of Omens to free Snarfer from his frozen state. Snarfer ran towards Lion-O. Chilla exhaled her ice breath towards Lion-O, freezing the Claw Shield. Thankfully, Lion-O still had his mirror shield. He hoped it would protect him from Chilla's icy breath. However, he was now surrounded by all of the Lunataks.

"Surrender, ThunderCat," Chilla hissed. She exhaled her ice breath once more, but Lion-O was ready this time. He held up the mirror shield and the ice was redirected back at Chilla.

"Surprised, Lunatak?" Jirachi's voice asked, and the rest of their friends arrived. "That mirror shield was made to deflect enemy attacks and send them right back at our foes."

Just before a fight was about to get underway, Lynx-O arrived in the ThunderStrike, telling his friends to get aboard so they could escape. They all got into the Thunderstrike and began taking off. The lynx apologized for his delay. "It took longer than I thought for me to rewire the braille board to ignore the signals coming from Sky-Tomb."

"That's all right, Lynx-O," said Jirachi. "You still saved us just in time."

Mumm-Ra watched the events through his cauldron and was once again disappointed. It seemed every time his allies failed, he had to take matters into his own hands. And that was what he decided he was going to do. He was stronger now and ready to demonstrate just how strong be became to his enemies.

"I have a plan," Mumm-Ra was saying, "a trap for the ThunderCats and the Children of Millennia. And our friends, the Lunataks, have just the bait we need." He commanded Ma-Mutt to stay put at the Black Pyramid while he would go to Sky-Tomb.
