Together We Stand

At Cats' Lair, Cheetara's head began to ache. This meant that her sixth sense was taking over again. Though nothing was showing on the telescreens, the cheetah woman knew that something terrible was about to happen. Lion-O tried using the power of sight beyond sight. He saw nothing, but he agreed that there was definitely something out there, blocking the Sword's vision.

At the Tower of Omens, it was the same for Lynx-O. He sensed it too, but he wasn't picking up anything from his braille board. "Freya, Bengali, can you see anything out of the ordinary?"

"No, but I trust your feelings, Grandfather," she answered. "I'll get Pumyra, Kisara, and Joseph, and we'll take a look around." Sakuya barked in agreement.

In the Black Pyramid, Mumm-Ra was once again calling on the ancient spirits of evil for the power to defeat the ThunderCats and the Children of Millennia. This time, he was presented with a silver grail.

At the same time, the Berserkers arrived. "What do you want with us, Mumm-Ra?" Hammerhand asked.

"I seek an alliance to plunder the high seas of Third Earth," he answered. "But first, we must remove the ThunderCats and the Children of Millennia. Your part will be to capture the accursed Tower of Omens. I shall give your armaments the power you need to accomplish this task." He tossed the grail into the great cauldron and its color changed from dark violet to blood orange. The grail was full of Thundranium. He ordered the Berserkers to soak themselves in the cauldron liquid and the Thundranium would be coated on their weapons and bodies. The Thundranium wouldn't harm the Children of Millennia, of course, but Mumm-Ra figured that with their ThunderCat allies rendered weak and powerless, they would be easy pickings as well.

Joseph, Kisara, and Pumyra were out taking a walk. The puma woman stopped as she heard the sound of a unicorn braying for help. She and her friends hurried to the site and saw a unicorn stranded in a net.

Kisara knelt down to soothe the unicorn. "Don't worry, little one," she soothed. "We're going to help you."

Pumyra loosened the strands and the unicorn was free. "Who would be cruel enough to trap an innocent creature like this?" she asked.

"Pumyra, Kisara, look out," Joseph cried, and the Berserkers came out and attacked. One of them grabbed Pumyra and in her efforts to break free, already she lost consciousness.

"Pumyra, no," Kisara cried. She and Joseph were captured by two more of the Berserkers. Hammerhand told his crew to take them away so they could be used as bait for the rest of their friends and allies.

Bengali and Seto scouted around, but couldn't find anything, so they returned to the Tower of Omens. "Seto, Bengali," Freya said. "Have you seen any of the others? They haven't returned yet. I'm worried." Sakuya whined in response.

"We couldn't find them, Freya," said Bengali.

Seto approached the window. "I think you spoke too soon, Bengali. I see Pumyra and the others making their way towards us right now." He also noticed how weak the puma looked as he saw her struggling on her feet. Kisara and Joseph were right next to her, keeping her from falling.

"We've got to warn Bengali and Lynx-O," Pumyra groaned. "And Seto and Freya," she added.

"We're almost there, Pumyra," Joseph told her.

Kisara saw the white tiger and called him over. "Bengali!"

"I'm coming, Kisara," he said, running towards them. "What happened, you guys?"

"We were ambushed by the Berserkers," said Joseph. "Somehow Pumyra became really weak."

"It's a trap," the puma said weakly. She was right. At that moment, the Berserkers sprung another ambush.

"Get Pumyra inside," he ordered Joseph and Kisara. "I'll handle them." He raised his tiger shaped hammer. "Hammer of Thundera, strike for justice, truth, honor, and loyalty!" He released lasers of light from his hammer, but they kept bouncing off the armor of the Berserkers.

Kisara told Joseph to go on ahead while she would stay to help Bengali. She raised her dragon staff and unleashed her dragon spirits to attack. "Bengali, the Berserkers are armored with Thundranium," she warned. "That's how they were easily able to drain Pumyra's strength."

"Couldn't you have mentioned that earlier?" he asked.

"I was going to before we were ambushed just now," she snapped. "We have to get you out of here before the same thing happens to you."

Bengali took a blue marble from his hammer and struck it, releasing a cloud of smoke to obscure himself and Kisara. They both broke through and hurried to catch up to their friends. Just then, Lynx-O, Freya, and Seto started coming in with the Thunderstrike. Bengali and Kisara wasted no time and got aboard. They wouldn't be getting away, though. One of the Berserkers managed to crash into the machine and damage one of the engines.

"Blast it," Seto grunted. "The systems are out. We're just going to have to send a signal to Cats' Lair." He raised his scepter and pointed it to the sky and it sent out a beam of red light in the form of a dragon.

Thankfully, the rest of their friends at Cats' Lair were able to see the signal. "A red dragon?" Snarf asked.

"That's a signal from Seto," said Mahad. "He and the others at the Tower of Omens must be in danger."

Using the power of sight beyond sight, Lion-O saw the Berserkers attacking the Thunderstrike. Joseph was inside the Tower of Omens helping Pumyra while everyone else was fighting Hammerhand and his crew. "We've got to help them," he said. "Wilykat and Wilykit, you stay here and hold the fort with Mana and Mahad." And he and Tygra hurried to the Tower of Omens to help their friends.

While watching from the cauldron, Mumm-Ra saw that Lion-O and Tygra were on their way to the Tower of Omens. He sent Ma-Mutt to find the Lunataks and tell them to attack.

As Lynx-O and Seto were working on making repairs to the Thunderstrike, they noticed Sky-Tomb in the air. "Oh, no," the brunette groaned. "The Lunataks." Sky-Tomb wasn't stopping, though. No, it was making its course to the Black Pyramid.

"Our only chance is to repair the radio so we can warn Lion-O and the others," said Lynx-O.

Kisara and Freya kept fighting off the Berserkers, but it was getting to be too much for them. The elder cousin kept attacking with lightning magic while Freya kept tossing fireballs with her sling. Sakuya helped out by using Shadow Ball and Kirara kept pouncing on them while she was a big cat.

"There's got to be some way to rub the Thundranium off from their armor," said Freya.

"We'll just have to keep fighting them like this until we can figure out a way," said Kisara.

Bengali knew that going out there meant risking losing energy, but he couldn't leave the cousins to fight the Berserkers by themselves. Using one pod from the Thunderstrike, he fired lasers at Hammerhand. But the light of the lasers kept bouncing off his armor.

Luna entered the Black Pyramid with Amok, demanding to know why she was summoned. Mumm-Ra informed her that the ThunderKittens and the two mages along with Snarf and their Magical Creatures were alone at Cats' Lair. Luna saw this as a grand opportunity. She would attack two ThunderCats and two Children of Millennia.

The fight still wasn't looking good for the heroes. Then, as if on cue, Lion-O and Tygra arrived riding on the Hovercat and the Thunderclaw. Seto saw this and happily cried, "Lynx-O, Lion-O and Tygra have arrived." And the lion and tiger began attacking the berserkers with their lasers. The brunette helped the old lynx to escape from the Thunderstrike.

Lion-O and Tygra had noticed it too, the Thundranium on the Berserkers' armor and weapons. They came to a tight bank and circled around, creating a whirlwind and trapping the Berserkers inside. It was working. The Thundranium was beginning to rub off. Now that the Berserkers were powerless, the heroes stood a better chance. Lion-O stopped them using the light of the Eye of Thundera and Seto shot a blast of dragon fire from his scepter. The Berserkers were about to escape, but Freya tossed another fireball with her sling and Sakuya launched another Shadow Ball attack. Bengali attacked with a laser of light from his hammer and Kisara attacked with lightning from her dragon staff.

Using the Hovercat and Thunderclaw, Tygra and Lion-O towed the Thunderstrike back to the Tower of Omens. Joseph saw the whole thing and gave a jubilant cheer. "They did it, Pumyra," he informed her. "Our friends beat the Berserkers."

Pumyra was still feeling a little weak, but she was glad to hear that her friends and allies were victorious. "I am glad, Joseph."

It actually wasn't over yet. Once the heroes got inside the Tower of Omens, Lynx-O and Seto warned their friends that Sky-Tomb was on the move and they had to alert the rest of their friends at Cats' Lair. While contacting Cats' Lair, Alluro's image showed up on the screen. He chuckled and said, "Brave ThunderCats and Children of Millennia, we knew you'd beat the Berserkers."

"Alluro," Seto cried. "What are you doing in Cats' Lair?"

"See for yourselves." He showed the rest of their friends working as slaves while under the influence of his psyche club. Lion-O and the others saw how dazed they all looked. "Don't they look happy and content? You will be too. Come home and serve us."

Lion-O looked back and whispered, "Tygra, Seto, follow my lead." The tiger and the brunette nod in response. They walk through the door with their arms out, looking as though they're in a trance.

"Seto, Tygra, Lion-O," Joseph quietly asked. The others were just as confused. They wondered, should they follow and imitate? No, they just watched, hoping that they knew what they were doing.

The three of them returned to Cats' Lair. Alluro and TugMug were just at the front door, watching in amusement and figuring that these three would make excellent slaves. Alluro spoke to them, saying, "You are happy to be here to serve us."

"Happy to serve you," they all repeated, sounding dazed.

Alluro commanded them, "You will take that hideous cat symbol down off the wall and replace it with this beautiful moon." And he showed them a blue crescent shaped statue.

The charade was over. Lion-O took out the Sword of Omens and raised it in the air. "Thunder, thunder, thunder. ThunderCats, ho!" And the signal was sent out and the great roar was heard. Seto destroyed the crescent moon statue with his magic and Tygra took his bolo whip. TugMug tried to attack with his gravity turbine and Alluro took out his psych club, but the heroes moved away in time, causing the Lunataks to attack each other.

Luna saw what was happening on the telescreen and knew she had to intervene. Riding on Amok, she charged out from the front door. Once again, the three friends moved away in time as Amok continued charging, taking TugMug and Alluro along.

Though the Lunataks had been dealt with, there was no time to celebrate. Those unwanted guests totally trashed Cats' Lair. The dining room had been splattered with food. "Look at this mess," Mana groaned. "I can't believe the Lunataks would force us to be their slaves only to make a mess of our home."

"I, for one, was certainly fooled," said Mahad to Lion-O. "You three made it look like Alluro had you under his influence when truly, you were pretending."

But Lion-O wasn't listening. "Sorry, Mahad, I couldn't hear you. Tygra and Seto and I plugged our ears so Alluro's voice couldn't get to us." And he removed his earplugs. "What were you and Mana saying just now?"

"Oh, we were just complaining about the mess the Lunataks made," said Mana.

"Don't worry, Mana," said Wilykat. "We'll all help out."

Mahad playfully smirked at her and said with a wink, "And don't you get any ideas about doing it like you did last time."

Tygra laughed as he recalled what happened. "Now that was a disaster."

"But it was fun at first," said Wilykit, "until it got out of hand, that is."

But Mana learned her lesson. Magic doesn't solve problems no matter how useful it can be at times and magic should only be used responsibly. Plus, anything worth doing – chores, for instance, is worth doing well.
