Chapter 2!!! Hell yes!!! Now we will introduce our other protagonist to his story. Vi. So this part in the prison will be VEEEEERY different than the show. Rather than a simple release, it's going to be a full on breakout with tons of asskicking and swear words. Another thing I want to add is what Jayce's Batsuit looks like. It looks like the Origins suit. That early, bulky suit that just makes him look beefy as all get out. It will improve over time to look a lot better once he gets his tech expert. I have a great idea on who it is. But yes, I'm very excited about this chapter. If you all have ideas, please list them below. I could use them. Thank you all and I hope you enjoy!!!!
Chapter 2: The Fighter
Flashback
Jayce was dressed in ninja garb, meditating with an older gentleman.
"The mind of a criminal is not complicated, my student. They are weary, superstitious, and cowardly. Easily distracted and privy to any movements in the darkness." The older man said as he stood up with Jayce. "I have shown you the ways. Now… we will test what you have learned."
The two walked together in the monastery to a dark room with different beams and obstacles, a training room.
Jayce nodded. "What is the task?"
The older man smirked. "You have five minutes to hide in the darkness. When the time is up, I will send my best warriors. You must take them out and stay hidden. If they find you, you will die. If you are spotted, you will die. Failure to participate, you will die. Now…begin!!"
Jayce went into the shadows.
It was time to prove himself.
Once he was hidden, the warriors entered the room. They were dressed similar to Jayce, except they were wearing armor. Definitely wasn't going to be easy.
Slowly, Jayce climbed around to avoid getting caught. When the moment was right, he struck.
Present Day
A guard sat at his desk, eating a sandwich. The day had been chaos when one of the new arrivals got out into a coma by another prisoner. Just another day in Stillwater.
He sat there at his desk, just eating and reading his magazine. At that moment, there was a noise.
The guard looked up and there was a metal sphere rolling towards the desk. He got up and walked over to it, picking it up. "What the-"
He was cut off as a flash of black enveloped him and he was shoved against the wall, being choked by an armored figure dressed like a bat. It was Jayce, but the guard didn't know that. He was pissing himself as the bulky figure was standing there holding him up by his neck.
"If you scream, I'll snap your neck. Today, you received a new prisoner after an attack at the docks. Where is he?" Jayce said in a gruff voice.
The guard said. "He- he's unconscious at the moment. When he got in, another prisoner nearly killed him with a lunch tray."
Jayce growled. "Where is this other prisoner?"
"S-she's on the lower levels. Prisoner 516!! I'll give you the keys!!" The guard shivered as he gave Jayce the ring of the keys to all the cells. The armored man took the key ring as he grabbed the guard's arm.
"I assume you have her files too?" Jayce growled.
The guard pointed over to the file cabinet.
"If you're lying, I'll break the other one."
"The other wha- AHHHH!!" The guard's arm got dislocated and Jayce promptly knocked him out.
The vigilante walked to the cabinet and looked through the many files till he found what he was looking for. "516…there you are." He pulled it out and read over it. Once done, he put it away in his belt sash.
He went to the elevator and made his way to the lower levels. Stepping out of the elevator, he could hear pounding on the walls. Almost like someone was punching it over and over and over again.
He stepped up to the cell, his cape wrapped his body and his eyes glowing in the dark.
Peeking into the cell, he saw a woman with red hair that was shaved on the side. She had tattoos going up her arms and leading down her back. Her arms were covered in wrap to help her fight better.
Jayce could tell she constantly trained as she had strong muscles, but still retained her feminine appearance.
"Hope I'm not interrupting." He said as he stood there.
The woman turned around. She had a tattoo on her face, the Roman numeral six (VI). She also had a nose piercing and a lip scar. But one thing he noticed…was her eyes. A beautiful gray blue and it just stunned him.
He didn't even notice he was staring until she said something. "You got a staring problem, creeper?" She snarked. "What the hell do you want?" She leaned against the bars.
Jayce said. "Hopefully your cooperation…Violet" He said."
Vi scoffed as she walked around her cell. "It's Vi."
He ignored her as he pulled out her file and threw it into her cell. "Checked your record. Other than a few run-ins with enforcers for theft, there isn't any reason for you to be in here. So my guess is you were thrown in here for another reason."
Vi chuckled as she picked it up and looked it over. "My stunning personality obviously." She said sarcastically, rolling her eyes.
"You attacked an inmate earlier, one needed in my investigation." He replied.
"Sucks to be you." She said as she paced.
He groaned. "You've been very helpful. I will find Silco another way." He began to walk away.
That got her attention. "Wait…you're going after Silco?" She said as she grabbed the bars.
Jayce nodded. "Him, the Barons and everyone on the council. They have destroyed both cities enough. It's time to bring them down."
Vi thought about what he was saying. "You're actually serious...aren't you?"
"I am. Those assholes pollute the streets with their drugs and wage war with weapons not meant to be wielded by man."
"Don't have to remind me...I lost my sister because of them. Especially Silco..." Vi gripped the bars as she remembered that night long ago…
Flashback
"NOOOO!!! Vi screamed over the dead body of her adopted father Vander. Thunder crashed overhead. She felt so alone, so hurt, sooo…
"Vi! It worked!" A small child's voice said. It was Powder, Vi's younger sister.
"What?"
"Did you see me?! Powder said excitedly. "My monkey bomb finally worked!" Powder suddenly felt the tension in the air.
Vi looked at her shocked. "You did this?"
Powder looked around confused for a moment before spotting Vanders body.
Vi hugged herself. "Why? Why did you do this?"
"I…I… didn't… I was saving you. I only wanted to help…" The small girl began to sob. "I only wanted to help… I only wanted to help! I only wanted to-"
"I told you to stay away."
"Please please please…"
"I told you to stay away!" Vi grew so angry at her little sister she couldn't control her anger and punched her.
Powder stumbled backwards and fell, still crying hysterically. "No! Why did you leave me?!" Powder shouted.
Vi grabbed her by the face. "Because you're a jinx! Do you hear me?! Milo was right."
"No, no, no, no, Violet please!" Powder sobbed.
Vi pulled back and looked at her hands, blood… so much blood…
"Violet please…" Powder said softly.
Vi only glared at her as the younger girl wailed.
Vi got up and walked away, she walked away from her father, from Powder, from all her problems.
"Vi! Vi! Please come back! Please Vi I need you!" Powder shouted.
Vi ignored it… she ignored it.
It was when she saw Silco take her little sister did she try something but...she was knocked unconscious.
Present Day
Vi remembered that day so vividly and it constantly played in her head. "If you're going after him…I want a shot at him too." She told Jayce.
He nodded. "So…we have a deal. I free you and you help me bring him to justice."
Vi nodded as well in agreement.
Jayce pulled out the keys and unlocked the cell.
She stepped out and started stretching. "Feels so good to be out."
"I bet. Now let's get going. No dou-" He was cut off as the alarms started going off.
"Son of a bitch, they found the guard. We have to leave now!!"
The two ran to the elevator and he set it for the top. It started to go up.
Jayce looked at Vi. "Be ready. There's going to be a whole swarm of Enforcers waiting."
"I've waited almost ten years to beat these bastards." She smirked as she cracked her knuckles.
Jayce got ready to fight as the door opened. There were dozens of Enforcers standing at the end of the hall.
"Prisoner 516, get down on the ground or we will use excessive force!!" The leader of the group shouted.
Jayce looked at Vi and she looked back. The two then charged towards the Enforcers. Vi was taking on two whilst Jayce was fighting more.
The woman was an incredible fighter, delivering blows so heavy it shattered one of the guards masks, dropping them in the ground. She delivered strong roundhouse to the other one, taking them out. She then looked over at the bat character and her eyes widened.
Jayce was moving so fast, the Enforcers could not keep up with him. He used his cape to disorientate and deceive their minds as he delivered blow after blow. His punches were hard and filled with so much anger.
Vi wasn't paying attention and one came behind her, hitting her with a baton. She growled and looked behind her. The guard gulped and she beat him down.
Once the two were done, they escaped the prison as the alarms went off. Vi ran with Jayce, still confused on who this man was.
Jayce took her back to the Forge and closed the door. With reluctance, he removed his cowl and set it on the table. Jayce's face looked exhausted and he had black marks around his eyes from where he put face paint to blend the mask with his eyes.
The Zaunite was in shock. She got saved by a Topsider, probably an insane one at that. She said finally after a few minutes of silence. "Still can't believe I got saved by a Topsider. Is this some joke?"
Jayce looked over. "I wish it was ,but it's not. I do not know the Undercity very well so…I will need a guide. Our deal still holds. I'll get you to Silco and…we will get your sister."
Vi nodded. "You'd better or you'll be the next person I cripple."
Jayce rolled his eyes and went to remove his suit.
Meanwhile….
The Last Drop Bar
A man sat in the office, drinking his alcohol. He was an older man, with the left side of his face deformed. The left eye was black with a red iris.
It was Silco, the Undercity crime boss. This man was an evil one. He ran the bar and all the crime was under his boot.
This was the man that Jayce was after and Silco knew it. But he didn't believe that this masked vigilante would be a problem. Just some nutcase in a mask.
Nutcase yes, but boy was he wrong about not believing this to be a problem. (Foreshadowing)
He then looked up from his desk. "I know you're here."
From the rafters above, came the blue haired girl with pale skin and tattoos. Jinx.
She skipped over to his desk. "Thought you would like a visit from little ol' me." She sat on the desk so delicately.
He handed her a syringe. "Time to do the injection."
The insane blue haired girl grabbed it and grabbed his head. "Try not to flinch." She giggled.
"Just get it over with." Silco groaned.
At that moment, Sevika entered the room. She didn't see Jinx and shouted. "Sir, we have a problem. She has escaped Stillwater. It's not long till Jinx-" she saw her on the desk.
This made Jinx stop and look at Sevika. "Ever try knocking? And who don't you want me to know about?"
Sevika was stone silent.
Silco said. "Forget about it. Just-" he was cut off as Jinx stabbed him with the needle on the cheek. He groaned.
"You know...I'm starting to think…you don't really care about me. That I'm just some." She punctured him again. "Tool." She stabbed his other cheek.
He gritted his teeth. "I am the only one who cares about you. You remember when you were abandoned by your dear sister. That she called you a mistake."
Jinx shook her head. "I…That's..." She injected his eye out of frustration and stood up.
Silco groaned and got up. "Face it, I am the only one who cares about you."
Jinx held herself and nodded. She left the room and went to do her own work.
Sevika looked over. "It won't be long until she finds out. And when that happens…"
"I know. And I am prepared for that day." The boss said as he held his eye.
"You better be. Or I will." She said threateningly as she walked away.
The boss sighed as he sat at the end of his desk.
Talis Forge
Jayce was looking over the information he had gathered while Vi was face first in some kind of…delicacy from Zaun he got ahold of by her request. It was not easy.
The man was dressed in some more relaxed clothing as he couldn't work in the suit.
"Oh Jericho! I've missed these so much." Vi said as she dined.
Jayce nodded as he was putting it all on a board.
Vi offered. "Want some?"
Jayce cringed. "No, thank you."
She shrugged. "You're missing out."
"You know, if you have any information, it would be really helpful for this board." Jayce told her. "Rather than just eating…whatever the hell that is."
Vi stood up and wiped her hands off as she walked over. "What information I have is what I picked up on. I know where we can start…" She replied as she pointed to a spot on the map. "The goons in the prison spoke about how this place was a massive distribution center. We hit here, it will definitely get our message out."
Jayce nodded. "I see...and it will get us closer to capturing Silco."
"But…we won't be able to get across that bridge without approval. It was hard enough trying to get food." Vi said.
"I have a friend with the Enforcers. She can get us across." Jayce put his hand his chin.
Vi chuckled. "I guess it pays to be high society, with all the connections."
"Trust me, I'm not that high in society. I lost my status years ago, but I still have enough influence for change." Jayce answered as he moved away from the board and to his suit to make some adjustments.
Vi leaned against the wall. "So…what's the story? You couldn't get enough attention as a boy so you dress as a bat to make people look at you?"
"No. The Council has been working against my family for years…they had my father killed because he was trying to do the same thing I'm doing: showing their true colors." He said as he filled his belt with the gadgets he needed.
Vi tilted her head. "What's all that for?"
"Tools for when we go to the Undercity." He answered.
She scoffed. "You think that's going to help you? Give me a break. To survive, you need to-" She was cutoff as the door opened.
It was Caitlyn. She looked annoyed. "Really, Jayce? Do you enjoy making my job harder? Over a dozen Enforcers hospitalized!! And..." She looked over at Vi. "You broke out a prisoner."
"Calm down. It was needed. Vi is our key to the Undercity. She knows it better than anyone." Jayce motioned to her.
Caitlyn raised an eyebrow. "Really? Her?"
Vi stood in front of her. "You bet. Without me, you have nothing. Get used to it because I'm staying, Cupcake." She smirked.
Caitlyn gave an angry pout and growled.
Jayce had to step in. "Alright, girls. Let's try and keep this civilized."
The two women glared at each other.
"Fine, but only because we need her." Caitlyn said bitterly.
Vi scoffed. "Well it's no fucking picnic for me either, Princess."
Jayce sighed. This was going to be a long investigation.
At the Council Tower
Viktor was leading a meeting with the Council.
It was about the implementation of Hex Cores.
Heimerdinger sighed. "We can't do this…it goes against everything we have stood for these years. Losing our morals, our values for what? Comfort and convenience. It isn't right. We-"
Viktor cut him off. "I believe I've heard enough, sir. But we can not let this chance go. Unlike you, we can't just stop. We must keep developing and evolving or else...all is lost. We do what we can to survive." He paced the room to the window.
He continued. "You know what I see when I look out the window? I see a nation, powered by the hopes and dreams of a better tomorrow. One that you do not share."
He finished by saying. "Which is why I present a motion to remove Councilman Heimerdinger from the Council. His usefulness has outlived itself. All in favor?"
Most of the council raised their hands.
"All opposed?"
Only one raised her hand: Councilwoman Kiramman.
Viktor smirked as he looked at Heimerdinger. "It's settled. You are done. You may leave now."
Heimerdinger was shocked, but nodded. He got up and walked out.
Viktor took his seat at the head of the table. "It is time for new leadership. Anyone dare to say otherwise?"
They remained silent.
"Then it's known…I am now the one in charge. And…things will be different from now on." He smirked.
