The cold mist of the Land of Waves clung to Naruto as he ran through the forest, his movements silent and swift. He didn't glance back; he didn't care if his absence was noticed. Kakashi's lectures about teamwork and restraint were meaningless to him. Strength was what mattered. The weak didn't deserve to escape unscathed.
In the shadow of the trees, two voices murmured in his mind, each vying for influence.
"You let them flee, boy," Kurama growled, his voice a low rumble filled with disdain. "Kill them. Crush them. Those too weak to fight back exist to be stepped on."
Boros, his tone calm yet laced with amusement, interjected. "Do it not out of anger, but because you can. Their deaths would be a testament to your power. Leave no room for doubt, Naruto."
Naruto smirked as the voices faded into silence. His goal was clear. The hideout wasn't far now, and his prey wouldn't escape this time.
The door to the hideout burst inward with a deafening crash, the force sending splinters flying. Inside, Haku and Zabuza immediately sprang to action. Zabuza gripped his massive blade despite his injuries, and Haku moved to shield him, kunai at the ready.
Naruto stepped into the dim light, his golden eyes glowing like embers in the shadows. His lips curled into a grin.
"You're both still alive. Let's fix that."
Zabuza's voice was steady, though strained. "You've got guts, kid, coming here alone. But guts don't make you strong."
Naruto didn't reply. He vanished from sight, his speed incredible, and reappeared in front of Zabuza. The rogue shinobi barely managed to raise his blade in time to block the punch, the force of which sent him skidding across the room.
Before Zabuza could recover, Naruto formed a dozen shadow clones, each racing toward him with elemental jutsu crackling in their hands. Fire, wind, and earth chakra exploded in a coordinated assault, forcing Zabuza to retreat further as he blocked and dodged.
Haku leapt into action, forming hand seals faster than the eye could follow. Ice mirrors materialized around Naruto, their surfaces gleaming as Haku stepped inside one of them.
"Zabuza-sama, I'll handle him!" Haku declared, his voice unwavering.
The dome of mirrors closed in, and dozens of Haku's reflections appeared, each holding a handful of senbon needles. They rained down on Naruto, precise and deadly.
Naruto smirked, letting the needles pierce his skin. They didn't faze him. His wounds healed almost instantly as his Boros-enhanced body regenerated. The clones around him, undeterred, launched elemental attacks at the mirrors.
"Ice," Naruto muttered, unimpressed. "Weak."
The eye on his chest opened, its golden light casting eerie shadows across the room. With a sudden pulse of energy, a searing beam shot forth, obliterating several mirrors in a single strike. Haku darted between the remaining mirrors, desperately trying to avoid the blasts.
But Naruto was faster. He anticipated Haku's movements, catching him mid-leap with a kick that sent him crashing into the floor. Haku coughed, struggling to rise, but Naruto was already upon him, his golden eyes cold.
"You should've stayed out of my way," Naruto said, raising his hand for the finishing blow.
Before he could strike, Zabuza roared, charging with his blade raised high. Naruto turned, meeting the attack head-on. His skin darkened as he entered his Boros transformation, his speed and strength multiplying. He caught Zabuza's blade with one hand, the force of the clash sending shockwaves through the hideout.
"You think that sword makes you strong?" Naruto taunted, his voice laced with disdain. "It's just a tool. Without it, you're nothing."
With a flick of his wrist, Naruto shattered the blade into pieces, sending Zabuza staggering backward.
"Zabuza-sama!" Haku cried out, forming more ice mirrors in a desperate attempt to protect his mentor.
Naruto's clones swarmed the room, dismantling the mirrors with relentless precision. Fire and wind chakra tore through the ice, leaving Haku vulnerable.
As the two enemies stood battered and cornered, Kurama's voice rumbled in Naruto's mind.
"Finish them. Show them the price of weakness."
Boros added, his tone approving. "Yes, let their defeat mark your superiority. This is what strength is for."
Naruto raised his hand, chakra gathering in a swirling mass. The air crackled with tension as the room seemed to shrink under the weight of his power.
But something gave him pause. It wasn't mercy or hesitation—it was disinterest. These two were already beaten. Their defeat was assured.
"They're not worth my time," Naruto muttered, lowering his hand. He turned and walked toward the shattered doorway, his voice echoing behind him. "You were weak the moment you ran. Next time, I won't be so forgiving."
Zabuza and Haku remained silent, too injured and shocked to respond.
Outside, the mist thickened as Naruto made his way back toward the village. Kurama growled in frustration.
"Why didn't you finish them? They deserved to die by your hand!"
Naruto's smirk returned. "Because they're nothing. They'll live knowing they couldn't even scratch me. That's punishment enough."
Boros chuckled, his amusement evident. "Interesting choice. But remember, dominance is best asserted with finality. Keep that in mind, Naruto."
As the voices faded, Naruto's golden eyes gleamed with quiet satisfaction. He didn't need validation or approval. Strength spoke louder than any words ever could.
