Oscar Pine sat in the armchair with everyone looking at him. He was a bit uncomfortable. "So," said Ruby, "This is Ozpin?"
"Did he age backwards?" asked Nora.
"Is he possessed?" asked Jaune.
"Or reincarnated," said Ren.
"It really is Ozpin," said Qrow.
"This is so weird," said Ruby.
"Yes, it is very weird," said Oscar.
"Okay, okay, can we please take a second? I know this is all overwhelming for everyone."
Everyone then took a step back, and sat down.
"Sorry," said Oscar, "It's just the first time I've ever met Huntsmen before... and Pokémon."
Oscar closes his eyes, and they glow, and a familiar voice comes out. "Hello, students, it's good to see you again."
"Um, is this real?" asked Jaune.
"See, when I die, I reincarnate with a like minded soul, who shares the same beliefs as me, and so forth."
"Wow," said Seth, "So, that story that Blake was reading the night before initiation, about a man with two souls, did you write that?"
"Yes, I did."
Seth paused, before saying, "Story of his life in a nutshell."
"This is perfect!" said Nora, "We were stuck at a dead end, but now, we just bring, CUTE LITTLE BOY OZPIN to Lionheart and set things straight!"
"Please don't call me that," said Ozpin.
"Not sure if that's the best idea," said Qrow, "Leo's been acting weird."
"I thought the headmasters kept everything in order," said Ren.
"That's how it's supposed to be," said Ozpin, "Four lieutenants that I can trust, especially during times of reincarnation. But your meeting with Leo has concerned me. He's not following instructions that I gave him."
"So, what do we do?" asked Pyrrha.
"We find more Huntsmen," said Ozpin.
"But doesn't the council know all-" "Not all of them," Ozpin interrupted Jaune, "I've been here enough time to know who to trust and who not to trust. For now, we must move onto step two."
"And that is?" asked Kathy.
"Getting you all into shape!"
Everyone was confused.
"But, we already know how to fight," said Ruby.
"You can only fight if you have Crescent Rose, but your hand to hand combat is lacking!"
"She got you there," said Seth.
"Mr. Arc, I'm glad to hear you've improved, but you still have to unlock your semblance. Mr. Eaton, you rely too much on your Pokémon to do the fighting for you.
"You all still have a long way to go until you're ready to pose any real threat against Salem and her forces. And Oscar has temporary control, he'll need to inherit his body and Aura."
Wait, what?asked Oscar in his head.
"He'll inherit my muscle memory in time, but practice will expedite the process."
"So, you're gonna train us?"
Ozpin then backflipped, and landed perfectly, and said, "After all, I was the headmaster of Beacon Academy. We have approximately one month until classes resume in Haven. If Salem were to attack here, it would make sense that she would target the students. We don't have much time, so don't go easy on me."
Everyone was quiet, until Seth said, "You know, I don't get you Oz."
Ozpin looked at Seth, and asked, "Excuse me?"
"You're able to reincarnate into new bodies, right?"
"Yes."
"And one of your previous incarnations was the King of Vale, correct? The one that ended the Great War?"
"...Yes."
Seth just sighed, and looked away, "That makes you even worse than I thought."
"Woah!" said Qrow, "What the hell?"
"Just, stop and think about this," said Seth, putting a hand up, "Ozpin had all of Remnant banded together, in complete unity, correct?"
"Yeah, so?" asked Qrow.
"So, he basically did just what he was asked to do," said Seth, "All of Remnant, Humans and Faunus, perhaps all four Maidens together, united. He also had all four relics at the time. He could've used that moment to go against Salem."
Everyone stopped, and Ozpin said, "It was a choice, an-"
"I'm not finished," said Seth, "You could've lead an army into her homeland, ready to fight for all of Remnant. You could've used the Relic of Destruction to finish her off, freeing the planet of her forever. Or, if that wasn't your style, you could've used the Relic of Creation to make an inescapable prison for her, and then jettison said prison off planet, so he would be forever trapped. But no, you choose this: a walled in society, never attacking, only focused on defense, and a rather poor one."
"Hey, Seth," said Ruby, "I know it's a bit much, but, that's going a bit too far."
"Look at our situation right now Ruby," said Seth, "We've lost Beacon, and so many innocent people, and students wanting to be heros, because THAT bastard just sat on his ass, doing nothing, but sip coffee, and act like nothing happened! He knew Beacon was infiltrated! He knew the enemy was there, just waiting to strike! He had every opportunity to track them down, and expose them, but no, he let THEM take the first shot! And now, so many children are dead! Families are torn apart, because of his poor decision making!"
"Kid, that's enough," said Qrow, getting a bit hostile.
"Oh, and here come the lapdog, always coming to his defense!" said Seth.
"Watch it kid!"
"How can you even stand him, huh?" asked Seth, "After everything's that's happened? Wasn't HE the one who sent Ruby's mother on that mission, that he KNEW she wouldn't return from?"
"It was her choice!" said Qrow.
"Was it?" asked Seth, "Let me ask you something: is Ozpin the only person you care about?"
"OF COURSE NOT!" said Qrow.
"Then why is Ruby still here?" asked Seth, pointing to his girlfriend, "Why is Ruby still on this path. You never wanted Ruby to be a part of this war, right?"
"No!"
"Then why didn't you keep her away from Beacon? Why, when you know Ozpin would just pamper her up, just like her mother?"
Qrow, then launched a fist into Seth, followed by Ruby doing the same to Qrow.
"Kiddo?" asked Qrow.
"I was willing to let many things slide," said Ruby, "But hitting Seth, I'm not letting it go."
"Seth does make a good argument," said Ren.
"Why didn't you?" asked Nora.
Ozpin looked away, a bit awkwardly, as Oscar asked,Yeah, he raises so many good points. Why didn't you use the relics against Salem?
Ozpin's eyes glowed, and Oscar returned, saying, "What? But..."
Seth stood up, with Ruby following.
"Ruby," said Qrow, grabbing Ruby's arm, "I don't want you with him anymore."
Ruby simply wretched her arm free.
"WHAT!? ALL BECAUSE HE MADE VALID POINTS?!" yelled Ruby, making Qrow step back.
"Maybe it's you, I shouldn't be with anymore," said Ruby, "If you really didn't want me to be mixed up in this,..."
Ruby looked right at Qrow, and the next few words shook him to the core.
"...you should've just killed me."
"Ruby, don't-"
"You KNOW Ozpin would eventually make me join!" said Ruby, "That he would use me, just like he did for Mom!"
Ruby then turned, and slammed the door.
