CHAPTER 2
It didn't take long for Cesca and Jonah to fall asleep.
Jonah suddenly woke up when the bus came to a halt. He looked out the window to see what was going on and he could see that they had arrived at the service station and that it was already half 2. He looked over to Cesca to see her peacefully sleeping. He didn't want to wake her but knew she would want to stretch her legs and that she would probably need to use the bathroom.
"Cesca Cesca" He softly said
She began to slowly open her eyes.
"Jonah? Where are we?"
"We've just arrived at the service station"
"Oh okay … Thanks for waking me"
"It's okay … How are you feeling?"
"Erm I'm alright at the moment I've just got a little bit of cramping but it's not too bad and I don't feel sick at the moment so that's good"
"Is that normal Ces" Jonah said sounding worried
"Yeah I spoke to my midwife yesterday and she said it's totally normal and that it's just the uterus expanding and the ligaments and muscles stretching to accommodate the baby"
"Oh right"
"Don't look so scared Jonah if I thought there was anything wrong I would tell you … I took out extra insurance just incase"
Everyone had now been woken up and they were now all off the bus and in the service station.
A lot of students and staff seemed to be getting coffee. This was never going to end well for Cesca. The smell of coffee had become something which triggered the sickness.
Cesca was standing talking with a couple of the staff when Chris came over to say he was going to try and round everybody up.
Cesca had excused herself and went off to the toilets. When she came out of the toilets she bumped into someone coming out of the other ones.
A hand was placed on her shoulder stopping her from falling. When she looked up it was just the person she wanted to see … Her Jonah!
"Oh I'm so sorry I didn't mean to bump into you"
"It's okay" Cesca said looking up to him "I wasn't watching where I was going either"
"Ces are you okay you're looking a little pale?"
"I'm just feeling a little sick … There is a lot of people with cups of coffee and the smell of coffee is something which seems to trigger the sickness"
Jonah looked around to see if anyone was around before pulling Cesca in for a hug kissing her on the forehead.
They walked out to see everyone all stood together. Chris began to explain the plan for the next few hours but there was a strong smell of coffee and Cesca could no longer hold it in any longer.
"Jonah I'm gonna be sick"
He didn't get a chance to reply as she threw her bag into his arms and ran as fast as she could to the toilet
Luckily she made it to the toilet before she was sick.
Chris sent everyone back to the bus before coming over to Jonah
"Is everything okay with Miss Montoya?"
"Erm I dunno she just said she was gonna be sick"
Of course Jonah actually knew what was wrong but he couldn't tell Chris the real reason.
"Oh … Right … Could you do me a favour Jonah?"
"Yeah what is it Sir?"
"Could you wait here for Miss Montoya"
"Yeah no problem … Are you just going back to the bus"
"Yeah"
"Alright won't be long"
"Thanks Jonah"
Jonah waited until Chris had gone out of the service station before he went to wait for Cesca outside the toilets.
Just as he got there Cesca walked out of the toilets with a tear stained face.
He said nothing and just held out his arms.
"Jonah we can't"
"Don't worry everyone's gone back to the bus, Chris asked me to wait for you"
"Oh okay"
Cesca moved into Jonah's embrace.
"How are you feeling" Jonah said softly
"Not great, I'm sorry … You shouldn't have to see me like this"
"Ces don't say that you're beautiful and you're carrying our baby … If I could do anything to take away all the pain I would"
Cesca began to cry again.
"Ey don't cry everything is going to be okay"
"Sorry I think it's my hormones I keep crying"
Cesca nestled her head further into Jonah's shoulder.
"Come on let's get back to the bus and try and get some more sleep"
Jonah kissed the top of her head before letting go to walk back to the bus.
Cesca got on the bus first so she could explain herself.
"Cesca? Is everything okay?"
"Yeah I'm okay just gonna try and get some more sleep"
"Okay well if you need anything you know where I am"
"Thanks Chris"
Cesca began to walk back to her seat followed by Jonah.
Once they had both sat down they were back on the move again at 3:30am.
Jonah looked over to Cesca catching her eye and he mouthed.
"I love you"
This made Cesca smile.
"I love you so much"
It wasn't long before they were both back to sleep again.
