Infinite cackled gleefully after seemingly killing Sonic, rising in the air as the grief of his friends fueled the Valtron. "Don't worry...You'll be joining him soon!"

Amy simply stood there, mouth agape in shock. Blaze, Shadow, and Knuckles all balled their fists, ready for the ultimate fight...

Until the wind stirred.

"Sooner than ya think!" A voice rang out, before two blue streaks of light did a shared homing attack on the jackal, knocking him out of the air.

Infinite looked up in shock as, yet again, two Sonics stood before him. The one that he had always known, and the younger one from another dimension.

"NO! Impossible!"

"And it gets better!" The older Sonic said, snapping his fingers in sync with the younger one as black figures surrounded by red energy began materializing around him, before revealing themselves as everybody Infinite had struck down with his energy whips. Getting to his feet, Infinite stumbled back in shock. "But...How!?"

"Well, we DID have a bit of help." The older Sonic admitted with a shrug, before the repaired X-Tornado flew down, with Tails, and the younger Tails they had pulled out of the portal on Angel Island, emerging from the dual cockpits. "YES! I KNEW it would work!"

"Mind filling the rest of us in, blue hedgehog?" Shadow grumbled. Sonic happily obliged. "Well, as our lil' buddy over there told us, the Phantom Ruby is fueled by the despair of others, so it made sense to ME that Infinite's fancy new energy whips were just trapping people in a realm called Null Space to BOOST that power! I've busted out of there before, so all I had to do to bring his power down was get the Chaos Emeralds away from him, and slip inside to free everyone!"

"You followin' any of this?" The now restored Jack the Wolf asked a nearby Restoration soldier. The soldier shrugged.

"ARRRGGHHH! You may have reduced my power, but I will STILL destroy you!" Infinite ranted, before raising his fist toward the mind-controlled jackals in the rocks. "JACKAL ARMADA! DESTROY THEM ALL!"

The jackals charged, and the heroes followed suit, becoming embroiled in battle.

Blaze dive-bombed through the crowd, clearing many away with her flames alone, and yet more fell by the swing of her fists, and a rough contact with her boots. She came to be back-to-back with Amy, as the pink hedgehog battered many more with her Piko-Piko hammer. "So, what do your Fortune Cards say of this, Amy?" Blaze asked.

"Haven't checked them." Amy replied. "Won't need to."

"And why is that?"

"Haven't you noticed?" Amy said with a confident grin. "We're making our OWN luck today!"

"So can you PLEASE explain what's going on again? We're in another dimension and WHAT!?" The younger Knuckles asked the younger Sonic as they fought side by side. Sonic just shrugged.

"Sonic? What's going on here? Why aren't you talking?"

Sonic shrugged again before dashing off, landing multiple homing attacks on a few jackals. "I'd savor the moment." the older Knuckles said as he landed. "In a few years, he won't shut up!"

Jack and Raccoon fought as best as they could, hand-to-hand, but the horde was becoming a bit overwhelming. Above, they saw Cyber use her Boost Burst to gain some air before diving in beside them, landing hard enough to knock the jackals back for a second. She ran over for a hug around the two she'd loved most, gripping them tightly. "-I thought I'd lost you both forever!-"

Raccoon gave a small growl of affection as he returned her hug, and Jack just held them both close for a moment. "We missed you, too, babe."

The three then spun around, forming back-to-back as the jackals surrounding them reformed their ranks. Cyber handed Jack his Void Wispon. The wolf smiled as he accepted the weapon. "Alright, Team Wolf...LET'S DO THIS!"

"BWWWWWAAAAAAHAHHHHHHHHHH!" Vector yelled out as he unleashed fire breath onto the jackals around Team Chaotix. "HA! Guess these guys aren't so scary after all, eh, Charmy?"

The bee giggled as he stung more and more of them, giving a thumbs up before buzzing away. "We must still be vigilant, Vector. My ninja senses tell me that we're not out of the woods yet!" Espio said, tossing two kunai straight into the masks of two jackals.

"Ah, come on, Espio! The guy's beaten! Everybody's back home safe! And after this lil' shindig is done, we can all get some ice cream!" Vector said.

"ICE CREAM!" Charmy screamed from across the battlefield in glee. Espio rolled his eyes. "Vector, I normally admire your detective skills, but you're missing a key detail here!"

"And what would that be?"

"Where is Infinite?"
