"I've got him in my sights!" Shadow reported as he followed the fleeing form of Infinite. "Alright, I'll meet up with ya in a bit! Just don't lose him!" Sonic replied over the radio.
"Wasn't planning on it, blue hedgehog." Shadow muttered. However, such a task was easier said than done, as the jackal ordered more and more of the armada to block his path. They were nowhere near his power level, but the need to deal with them was slowing Shadow down.
"Need a hand?" Rouge asked as she and Omega lined up side-by-side with the black hedgehog. Despite himself, Shadow slightly grinned as the two began to help clear through the canon fodder before Rouge finally lifted the Ultimate Lifeform into the air and swung him in a throw, hurtling him straight into Infinite, and sending the two through multiple rock walls inside of the local cave system.
"Heh, that looks like fun!" Sonic said to himself after seeing what Shadow had just done. He activated a communications line with the now-airborne X-Tornado. "Tails and Tails! Think you guys can clear a path for me to link up with them?"
"You know it! Tails, you want to do the honors?" The older Tails asked his younger counterpart. "You got it, Tails!" The other dimensional fox replied, mounting up the X-Tornado's artillery and blasting a clear path through the mind-controlled armada. "Hey, this is all non-lethal, right?"
"Why would it be lethal? Wait, actually, don't answer that." The older Tails said, before redirecting his attention to Sonic. "Alright, buddy! You're home free!"
"Thanks, guys!" Sonic yelled, beginning his trek to the hole Infinite and Shadow had created. With any luck, there'd be JUST enough of the jackal left for him to pound by the time he got there!
Shadow ran in circles around Infinite before unleashing a flurry of punches on the jackal. Infinite, in turn, used an energy burst to knock the hedgehog aside. "You delusional fool! Even without my new powers, I'm MORE than enough to spell your end! And when I line up your corpse with the others on the battlefield, I shall rise, triumphant over all! A GOD!"
"Would you PLEASE being so damn pretentious!?" Shadow said, scoffing. "You talk more than Sonic!"
Infinite laughed. "Such pathetic attempts to insult me! You've witnessed my power firsthand, hedgehog! I peeled back the layers of your soul and made you dance as my puppet! AND IT WASN'T THAT HARD TO DO!"
Shadow glared at Infinite for a moment, letting his anger subside for a moment so he could concentrate on what he was about to do. "Hmph! You want the Ultimate Power so badly?" Shadow undid the clasps on the limiter rings on his wrists, letting them fall to the floor before letting the Chaos Energy flow through his body, uncontrolled.
"THEN LET'S SEE IF YOU CAN HANDLE IT!"
