Chapter 47: The Deathly Hallows

Thanks for all the reviews. They tickle my muse and make me want to write. Even when I don't know where I'm going with it.

Also, I wanted to remind everyone that this is supposed to be a fluff piece. I am trying to keep it that way.

It's a short one.

The very next morning, Star showed up right before Neville and Harry went to breakfast. They were still in their dorm room and getting dressed. The rest of their mates were leaving, so they waved them on.

"Star! Where have you been?" exclaimed Harry as he scooped up the non-cat and gave her a huge hug. He had had dreams of her death all night long and was overly thrilled to see she was okay.

"I was back in your dimension," said Star, purring into his hug. She rubbed her face into his arm and arched her back at his rubs. She was glad to be back. Dimension hopping was not easy, and she had had a trying time of it.

"Why were you there?" asked Harry, putting her down, but continuing to pet her on the back. He didn't want to lose contact with her just yet. Those dreams had been scary, and he was still seeing them in his head.

"I had some things I had to collect," she said mysteriously. She sat and looked at him like a kneazle that ate the snitch.

"What things?" asked Harry, getting leery. He didn't know what she would need from his dimension, but nothing good had happened to him and Siri there.

Star moved away from him and started regurgitating the things that she had in her belly. Out popped an invisibility cloak, a ring, and a wand. She backed away and sat proudly, looking like she had hunted a deer and brought it down.

"Star? What are these things?" Harry asked, casting a cleaning charm on them. He picked up the ring and looked at it. It was gold with a black stone that had a triangle with a circle and a slash on the inside. He put the ring down and picked up the wand, it had a smooth, unadorned shaft and a handle formed from two conjoined spheres. It felt good in his hands. Like it had come home. He put it down reluctantly. He ran the cloak between his fingers and felt the smooth silk on his skin. They disappeared under the fabric.

"These, my dear boy, are the Deathly Hallows," Star was saying as he examined the items.

"You mean from the storybooks?" Harry asked, as he watched his fingers reappear from under the cloak.

"The very same," she said, proud of what she had accomplished. She had had to work hard to get them from where they had been hidden. The ring had been the hardest part, but the wand had been the trickiest. She had had to knock the old man down and steal it from his hand while he was trying to fend her off.

"Why didn't you just gather the ones from this dimension?" asked Neville as he watched Harry play with the invisibility cloak. He was fascinated. These were legendary items. He was a bit jealous of Harry at the moment.

"Because those belong to Ivy, and Goose is getting those," said Star, stretching and yawning. She made a circle in the blankets and laid down.

"So, you want us to become the Masters of Death?" asked Harry, not sure what that meant or why they wanted that.

"Yes."

"Why?"

"So that you can be the most powerful magicals on earth," she stated, like she was talking to an idiot.

"Why?"

"Because we want to be the Flerkens of the most powerful magicals on earth. What kind of stupid question is that?" she said, tilting her head at him like he was speaking a different language.

"How are these going to make us the most powerful magicals on Earth?" Harry asked, finally putting the cloak down and paying attention to Star. He knew the story, but they were just stories. Surely, they can't be true. Death wasn't a real entity. Then again, Ivy lived with Thor and his mum was being courted by Loki. So, who knew.

"The invisibility cloak hides you from everybody, including Death. The ring can call back the dead, sort of. The wand is unbeatable as long, as you aren't stupid," Star explained, fighting back a yawn. She knew he wasn't a stupid boy, but damn it, why couldn't he just go with the flow.

"What do you mean by not being stupid?" asked Neville, picking up the cloak and putting it on his lap, making it disappear. He got a kick out of that. He ran his fingers over the smooth cloth and relished the feeling.

"Most of the people who lost the wand were boastful and they got stabbed in the back. Or they got cocky," she said, closing her eyes and sighing. She was dead tired. She hoped they would let her sleep soon.

"Oh, I get it," said Harry.

"That and if you just don't tell anybody you have the wand, nobody will know and they won't fight you for it," said Star, not even opening her eyes.

"That makes a lot of sense too," said Harry, petting her on the head, making her purr.

"So, Goose is going to give Ivy her Deathly Hallows?" asked Neville, not daring to touch the ring or wand. He didn't think the cloak would do any harm.

"Yes, he's going to give them to her today."

"Who had the wand in this dimension?" Harry wanted to know. He thought he knew this wand, it looked very familiar.

"The same person who had it in yours," Star said, looking him dead in the eye. "Dumbledore."

"Isn't he going to notice that his wand disappeared?" asked Neville, very concerned about this.

"Probably, but he's not going to know who took it," she said, knowing that Goose would have stolen it differently than she had took hers. She did wonder how he took his.

"Well, who had the invisibility cloak?" asked Harry.

"He had it too," she said, still looking at his face. She knew he was going to blow his top.

"Why that lowdown conniving no good bastard," the older preteen said, getting up and pacing. He was beyond mad.

"Why did you call him that?" asked Neville, putting the cloak back and staring at his friend.

"That invisibility cloak belonged to my father," said Harry, knowing this from Siri. "If he had it, then that means my father didn't have it when they went into hiding and one of them could have survived if they had had it."

"Oh, I see what you mean," said Neville, feeling bad for his friend.

"Well, that's done and over with," said Star, kneading her claws into the bedding. "There's nothing could be done about it now." It wasn't that she didn't feel sorry for the boy, but getting angry over it now didn't help. She got the cloak back, and the old man didn't have it anymore.

"So, what am I supposed to do with these items?" Harry asked, going back to the Deathly Hallows and looking at them. He had no clue as to what to do with them.

"Keep them on you at all times," said Star with and ominous tone. "Use them to the best of your abilities."

"Well, I can see using the invisibility cloak. But I don't see using the ring or the wand. I mean, if I start waving the wand about, Dumbledore's going to know I have it," Harry pointed out, lifting the distinctive wand. There was something about it that screamed Deathly Hallow. It was the coloring; elder wood was quite different than most woods.

"He has a point," said Neville, nodding his head. Knowing that ring would stand out.

"We'll hide the wand for now and use it after you get out of Hogwarts," conceded Star, though she wanted him to keep them on him, they did have a point. Perhaps she should get him a mokeskin pouch.

"So just keep it in my trunk for now and use it when I am not at school," Harry said, thinking of other ways or places he could hide it. Perhaps a wrist holster.

"Yes."

"Do you think we should tell Gandr?" asked Neville.

"Of course I'm going to tell Gandr, and I'm going to tell my mum too," Harry said, putting the wand in his trunk. He put the ring on a string, then looped it over his neck. He put the invisibility cloak under his robe. He then got his phone and got ready to go to breakfast. They were already late. It was a good thing, it was Saturday.

"Well, I'm sure Ivy's going to tell the Avengers and the rest of the Asgardians," Neville stated, getting his things as well, which was just his phone and laptop. He had some unfinished homework he needed to do.

"We should definitely keep it within the family," said Harry, glad he had a friend like Neville. He'd be lost here at Hogwarts if he didn't have him. Then again, he wouldn't have come if it weren't for Neville.

"You're probably right," said Neville, hoisting his satchel and heading to the door.

"I'm very tired from all that dimensional hopping. I'm going to take a nap," said Star, closing her eyes again.

"I'm really glad you're okay, Star. Thank you for doing this," Harry said, petting her head again.

"You might not thank me later," said Star, cracking an eye open.

"Why do you say that?" asked Harry a bit wary.

"There are consequences to being the Master of Death," she sighed, not really wanting to get into this now. She just wanted to sleep.

"Oh? What kind of consequences?"

"Well, one is a longer life," she stated, yawning like it was no big deal.

"Oh, and the others?" he asked, shrugging that one off. Wizards could live up to three hundred years old. How much longer could she be talking about?

"The rest I'm not sure about. But I do know there are more," she said, snuggling down into her spot a bit further. She drifted off and started sleeping.

"I see," said Harry.

"Shhh," she said, sleepily.

"Have a good rest, Star," said Neville.

"Yes, thanks for coming back, Star," said Harry.

The two boys left the room, making sure to dim the lights.

While that was going on Goose was giving Ivy her Deathly Hallows. He was hacking them up from his dimensional stomach and woke her from her sleep.

"Goose, it's the middle of the night. What are you doing?" Ivy asked as she watched him cough them up.

"I'm bringing you a present," the non-cat said when he was done. He really hadn't cared that he had woken her up. He was proud that he had got them all. The one from the safe had been easy enough, and nicking the wand from Dumbledore had been simple as well. The invisibility cloak had been the hardest. In that it had been harder to find. Dumbledore had had it under so many wards, that it had been quite the search.

"Why couldn't you wait until morning?" she asked, getting up and putting on a cute little robe. She went and looked at what he had brought. There was a ring, a wand and a cloak. She cast a cleaning spell on them and picked up the ring.

"Well, I didn't mean to wake you up," Goose said a bit indignantly. He stretched and clawed the bed.

"Well, I'm up now. What have you brought me?" she asked, investigating the ring.

So, Goose went to explain the Deathly Hallows and what they were and what they meant. She nodded in all the correct places and asked all the right questions. She had already known the stories and like Harry was a bit confused as to why the Flerkens wanted them to be Masters of Death.

"You mean Dumbledore is now without his wand?" asked Ivy, giggling her cute little giggle. She was tickled pink that that man was now defenseless.

"That's about it. Though, I'm sure he has another," warned the non-cat.

"Oh, this is going to be so much fun," she said, picking up the wand and looking at it. It gave off some sparks and felt so good in her hands. Unlike Harry, she could use it whenever she wanted. No one would be the wiser.

"You're not mad that I went and got these things?" asked Goose, not really caring, but wondering if he was going to get the cold shoulder.

"Silly Goose, I could never be mad at you. Besides, you're just looking out for my best interest," she said, putting the wand down and picking him up and petting his head. She put him down almost immediately. He really didn't like cuddles, and she knew that.

"There are consequences to having these items," he warned.

"I know," she said, playing with the cloak. She put it on and looked in the mirror. "I've read the stories and the legends. Besides, Sirius told me." She twirled around and watched her legs reappear and disappear.

"Why would he warn you about the Deathly Hallows?" Goose wanted to know. Sirius didn't seem the superstitious type.

"He was fascinated by the tale when he was younger. He really likes the idea of there being an entity called Death," she stated, putting the cloak back on the bed. "Then when I told him about Hel, he became more interested."

"I see," said the non-cat.

"Well, I'm very thankful that you were looking out for me and brought me these things. I'm just going to tuck them away for now and talk to my family in the morning," Ivy said, brightly, picking them all up and putting them in a pink box in her closet to bring to the breakfast table in the morning. Won't that be a big surprise?

"All right, you go back to bed. I'm sorry I woke you up," Goose stated, turning around and leaving the bed. He started walking out of her bedroom to go and explore the house. He wanted to know who all was there.

"Good night, Goose."

"Sleep well, Ivy."

"I just got off the phone with Harry," Siri said, looking at Loki.

"Oh, what did he say?" the god asked, stretching from his place on the couch. They had just finished breakfast, and he was quite full. Fenrir was sitting next to him, having shown up the other day, stating that he didn't want to be in the house without him there.

"It seems Star went and found the Deathly Hallows for him. From my dimension," she said, looking quite perplexed. "He said Goose got the ones from this dimension to Ivy," she added.

"What are the Deathly Hallows?" Loki asked, not familiar with the story.

So, she told him and Fenrir the story and what it entailed. The myths, legends and the possible consequences. Like Ivy, they listened and asked all the appropriate questions.

"You mean to tell me that they are going to be more powerful?" Fenrir asked, looking a bit wary and proud. Though what he was wary about wasn't clear.

"What has you worried, son?" Loki asked, looking at his child.

"Does that mean they are going to get… cuter?" the wolf god asked, not thinking that could be possible.

"By Odin, I hope not," Loki stated, putting his hand to his eyes. He didn't think he could handle a cuter Ivy and Harry. He couldn't say no to the two of them now.

"Loki," Siri said, changing the subject, "I think I owe you a dinner date. What say we go tonight?" She felt like getting all dolled up and going on the town. She didn't mind that his son was here. Fenrir could entertain himself while she took Loki out for a night out. They'd stick to the muggle side, since there was more to do.

"I think I'd like that," he replied, removing his hand from his eyes. He looked at her and smiled. He was a very good-looking man when he smiled. He could charm the birds from the trees. She was going to have to watch herself.

"Good, dress well," she said, getting up and going to the kitchen to get some tea. "Do either of you want anything? Coffee?"

"Yes, please," Fenrir said, holding out his cup. He loved coffee, having been introduced to it by Tony.

"Okay," she said, taking the cup and disappearing into the kitchen.

"You two are dating?" Fenrir asked, not sure how he felt about that.

"Not quite, but maybe," the God of Mischief said, looking at his son. He really didn't care how the boy felt. It was his life, and the boy was old enough to have an opinion, but he was also old enough to fend for himself.

"She's a mortal," the wolf boy pointed out, like Loki didn't know that.

"I know," Loki sighed. He knew all the downfalls of dating a mortal. Thor complained about them often enough when he talked about dating Jane.

"She'll die," Fenrir stated, once again pointing out the obvious.

"I know," Loki said again.

"It's your heart," his son said, knowing this could only end in heartache.

"That it is, my son, that it is," the older man stated, looking towards the kitchen as Siri came out. She was a strikingly beautiful woman, and he was willing to risk his heart for her.

Later at breakfast in Malibu, Ivy brought her box to the table and sat it on the chair next to her.

"What's in the box, little bug?" Tony asked, sipping his coffee. He had been up for a while and was reading the paper as usual. Pepper was sitting next to him, while Bruce was next to her. Steve was two seats down from Ivy. Natasha and Clint were at SHEILD and Sirius and Remus were sitting at the foot of the table.

"Oh, Goose brought me the Deathly Hallows this morning," she said sweetly, grabbing some scrambled eggs with the serving spoon and putting them on her plate.

"What?!" came the surprised exclamation from both of the wizards as they spit out what they had in their mouths.

"Yes. He showed up at the wee hours of the morning with them," she said, nodding her cute little head, making her curls bob.

"What are the Deathly Hallows?" Pepper asked, looking at Sirius, who seemed the most affected.

"Only the most powerful artifacts in the magical world," he said, waving his hands in the air dramatically.

"They are said to be able to control Death," Remus added on.

"Don't be silly, Remus," Ivy said, giggling her tinkling giggle. "No one controls Death," she said, waving that thought away.

Just then Luna skipped in and moved the box to another seat. She sat in the empty chair and started serving herself some food. She looked around and said, "I see the Wrackspurts have visited this morning. What is going on?" She could feel the tension in the air.

"We're talking about the Deathly Hallows and the fact that I now own them," Ivy said, smiling at her best friend.

"I see," said Luna, giving her an even look. "That is indeed an unfortunate event. Those could mean trouble for you, if you are not careful," she said gravely, which was quite out of character for her.

"I know. I won't tell anyone outside of the family," Ivy stated, patting her hand. "You have to promise not to tell anyone either. Not even your daddy and mummy," she said, giving her a firm look.

"Daddy will be very disappointed," Luna said, shaking her head. "He's been looking forever for them," she explained, knowing that her father would continue to look. She didn't know if she could keep this secret from him. She would try, but it would be hard.

"I'm sorry, but if he knew, he might tell someone, or even print it in his magazine. I can't let anyone know. They would come after me," Ivy said, giving her, her doe eyes.

"Why would people come after you?" Steve asked, wondering what the hell was going on. He would protect her from any enemy, but he had to know where they were coming from first.

"The wand has a bloody history. It is said to be unbeatable, however, if you win its loyalty, it is yours. So, people fight over it all the time," Remus answered, looking at the pink box like it was a leper.

"I think we need to hear the whole story," Bruce said, looking at the two adult wizards. He picked up his herbal tea and drank. He could feel the Other Guy getting upset over what they were hearing.

So, Sirius, Remus and the two magical children told the story to the non-magicals and there were many questions. It took the better part of an hour, in which Goose came and went.

"I'm not sure I want you to have these items, little bug," Tony said, looking at the box like it would bite him.

"I don't think that's an option anymore, Daddy," Ivy said, getting up and opening the box. "I've already touched all of them," she explained, holding up the wand, causing sparks to fly.

"She's right," said a voice from the doorway.
