Ash and Pikachu found themselves strolling through a lush, elegant garden filled with blooming roses and neatly trimmed hedges. The air smelled sweet, and the sound of a gentle fountain bubbling in the distance added a serene backdrop to the area.
"Man, this place is fancy," Ash commented, looking around. "Feels like something out of one of those royal fairy tales."
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu agreed.
As they wandered deeper into the garden, they heard a soft, melodic voice calling out.
"Mario? Luigi? Where are you?"
Ash turned to Pikachu. "Did you hear that? Someone's looking for Mario and Luigi. Let's check it out!"
The duo followed the voice, and soon they came across a woman dressed in a flowing pink gown. Her golden crown sparkled in the sunlight, and her white gloves added a touch of elegance. It was clear she wasn't an ordinary traveler.
"Whoa," Ash whispered. "She looks like royalty."
The woman turned toward them, her blue eyes lighting up with recognition. "Oh! You're not Mario or Luigi, but…" She tilted her head curiously. "You must be Ash Ketchum."
Ash blinked in surprise. "Uh, yeah, that's me. But how do you know who I am?"
The woman smiled warmly, her hands clasped in front of her. "I'm Princess Peach. Yoshi told me about you and your Pikachu!"
Ash's jaw dropped. "Wait, wait, wait. Yoshi? You can understand him?"
Peach giggled softly. "Of course! Yoshi and I have known each other for a long time. He told me all about the boy with the electric mouse who's been exploring our world."
Ash scratched the back of his head, laughing nervously. "Wow. I didn't know Yoshi could even explain all that. He's… pretty expressive for someone who can only say his own name."
Pikachu crossed its arms and nodded knowingly, as if it had always suspected Yoshi was more than meets the eye.
Peach knelt down to Pikachu's level, her smile softening. "And this must be Pikachu. Yoshi said you're very brave."
"Pika!" Pikachu chirped, puffing out its chest proudly.
Peach straightened, her expression growing more serious. "I was actually looking for Mario and Luigi. There's been some trouble brewing, and I wanted to make sure they're alright. Have you seen them?"
Ash shook his head. "We ran into Mario earlier, but not Luigi. Mario mentioned something about heading to help someone. Maybe Luigi went with him?"
Peach sighed. "That does sound like them. Always off on some grand adventure."
Ash grinned. "Yeah, but they seem like they can handle themselves. Mario was really cool when we met him."
Peach nodded, then looked at Ash thoughtfully. "And what about you, Ash? How are you finding our world? Yoshi said you're from a completely different place."
Ash shrugged. "It's been... wild. I've met all sorts of people—Mario, Samus, Fox, and even Jigglypuff, who I haven't seen in ages. Honestly, it's kind of overwhelming, but it's also really exciting. There's so much to see and learn."
Peach smiled warmly. "That's the spirit. Our world is full of wonders, just like yours must be. And who knows? Maybe your journey here will teach you something new about yourself."
Ash looked at her, her words hitting deeper than he expected. "Yeah… maybe."
Before they could continue their conversation, a rustling sound came from the bushes nearby. Peach turned, her hands raised defensively. "Who's there?"
Ash and Pikachu readied themselves as well. "Pikachu, stay sharp."
From the bushes emerged a small group of mischievous Goombas, their tiny feet pattering against the ground as they charged forward.
"Oh no!" Peach exclaimed. "Goombas must have followed me here."
Ash grinned. "Don't worry, Princess. We've got this! Pikachu, Thunderbolt!"
Pikachu leapt into action, unleashing a powerful bolt of electricity that zapped the Goombas, scattering them in all directions.
Peach clapped her hands together in admiration. "Wonderful! You're quite the fighter, Ash."
Ash rubbed the back of his head modestly. "Heh, we've had a lot of practice."
As the last Goomba scurried away, Peach turned to Ash with a grateful smile. "Thank you, Ash. I feel much safer with you and Pikachu around."
Ash grinned. "Anytime. So, what's next? Are you gonna keep looking for Mario and Luigi?"
Peach nodded. "Yes, but I think I'll stick close to you two for now. It seems like trouble has a way of finding me."
Ash laughed. "Well, you're in good company then. Trouble finds us all the time too."
