Author's Note: Hey all! Sorry for the time it took to write this out, I was busy with other things like studying for finals and Frostpunk 2. Let me tell you, that game is SUPER hard to get the hang of, especially with upkeep being a mechanic that the original Frostpunk didn't have.

Beacon Academy, Kingdom of Vale
March 27th, 0812 Hours, 2560
Finally sending off the package to Ozpin, it was a deep dossier filled with everything her MJOLNIR had recorded ever since 2545. Combat reports, video recordings, weapon diagnostics, personal notes, everything and anything that could be useful was compiled and sent. The most exciting part about it would be the technical data; if Atlas had as good of research and development as she's been told, it shouldn't take long to reverse engineer her technologies.
She shook her head, she was getting ahead of herself and had to focus on the present. Ozpin had presented her with an official huntsman license which seemed like the Remnant equivalent to a military ID. In the middle of all of this, she had been instated as a professor at Beacon meaning her responsibilities were greater than simply observing. She had been assigned to be the new combat instructor, the perfect position for someone with her skill set.
Unfortunately she'd have to begin class with no resources having had no time to pull Ruby and Nora aside. No matter, Spartans made do and this was no different. Not yet comfortable stepping foot outside her MJOLNIR, she donned the armor she called home leaving her helmet gripped at her side. Leaving the vast majority of her remaining gear behind, she stepped out into the grandiose halls that gave off that exquisite Beacon experience. The halls were flooded with students, some walking to class, others racing the bell, and a few that stopped to stare at her presence towering over them.
Having memorized the layout tenfold after somehow getting her hands on the blueprints, she knew where to go and how to get there. "Their firewall security was really lax, too lax honestly. I'm no tech guru, but even then it was still easy. If Will took a crack at it…" She halted mid - step, letting her thoughts trail off as she remembered her long dead teammate. She hadn't thought about him since Reach after the Zealots energy sword pierced right through him. Shaking her head, she compartmentalized the thought like most things in life. "I wonder what that underground tunnel's all about. These academies are pseudo - forts, so maybe a bunker or armory? Mental note: question Ozpin." Pushing it to her to - do list, she returned her focus on not stepping on any of the passing students.
Soon thereafter arriving at the training room, peering inside she saw an open square board with bleachers forming a semicircle around it. A few students had arrived before her, playing on their scrolls while waiting for the bell. Getting herself acquainted with the space, the slow trickle of students slowly made the once tranquil peace and quiet a disorderly mess of voices. After the bell rang, sounding off the beginning of the semester, Alexandria took roll call requiring each team to line up in formation just like Kurt and Mendez had taught her.
Thankful for the experience in training the Spartan IV's, she had each team introduce themselves and what each member's specialty was. Unfortunately, there were two teams unaccounted for who burst through the door at the most convenient of times. With a devilish smile forming across her face, Alexandria stared down the panicking students.
"Teams RWBY and JNPR, would you please explain why you're late on your first day?" She asked, giving them this one and only opportunity to explain themselves before she made them feel the hurt.
Ruby had a petrified look on her face as she audibly gulped at the sight of her instructor. "We overslept Ms. Alexandria. We're so sorry it won't happen again!" She blurted out, hoping it would be enough to sway Alexandria's opinion.
"And what about you, Mr. Arc? Do you have anything to say on behalf of your team?" Alexandria inquired, staring down the nervous wreck of a boy. He was frozen in shock and fear, unable to formulate words beyond clicks and stutters. A few snickers and sneers were heard at the poor boy's expense.
Not going unnoticed, Alexandria turned to face all of the students that stood in her audience. "I want to make it perfectly clear. You're either here on time or you get to fight me. And before you think that's a sweet deal, a little word of advice; your aura's mean nothing to me." She explained, giving them ample warning of the consequences. "But, since it's the first day I'll let it slide this one time." She said, addressing the two late teams.
Letting the final eight of her students drop into place like everyone else, Alexandria slowly paced back and forth introducing herself. "My name is Alexandria and I will be your new combat instructor. This is where your books will be turned into battles. I will make sure you are ready for what is beyond the walls of this school. If you fail, and you will fail, do not expect any pity from me. You will get up and try again until I have to drag you out of the arena myself. Am I understood?"
A chorus of inharmonious acknowledgements echoed throughout the spacious room. Nodding in approval, Alexandria entered something in on her TACPAD. Displaying on the screen above them, the faces of Team RWBY on one side with Team JNPR on the other. "The only way to become the best is by competing against your peers. Everyone has a skill they bring to their team. Complacency kills, so you have to always adapt to the challenges you will face. And since Team's RWBY and JNPR decided they wanted to be late, they can be the class demonstration." Alexandria said, ushering the two of them onto the raised platform that stood in the center of the room. "Oh, and if you need an incentive, the winner will be allowed to rest."
Watching the teams go at it, they were fairly matched with a leader, support, heavy hitter, and mobile close quarters. Alexandria kept a particularly close eye on Yang and Nora as the rest didn't seem as excessive in their fighting styles as them. That being said, they did also mirror her method of fighting that being overwhelming force and firepower. Ruby was easily able to take out Jaune as per expectation. It was clear that he didn't match up to any of his records and something had to be done about it. Weiss was taken out next, followed by Pyrrha and Blake, leaving the two sisters at a two - on - two.
Yang activated her semblance which was a spectacle to see in real time. Cracking a smile, Alexandria watched as she handedly pummeled Ren into the ground leaving Nora in a two - on - one bout. Yang was faster than Nora, but that hammer would be lethal if it made contact. For every blow Nora could counter, Yang could follow it up with another jab or hook. Ruby, meanwhile, was using her speed to get hits on Nora's back, working in tandem with Yang like a well oiled machine. If she didn't know they were sisters, Alexandria would've guessed they had been raised like herself.
The fight took a sudden turn after Nora was able to get a swing in and impact Yang with enough force to send her flying across the room and leave a Yang - shaped dent in the wall. "Yang!" Ruby shouted in shock and horror seeing her sister get ragdolled like one of Zwei's toys. Seizing the moment, Nora took a swing at Ruby which would have hit had the younger girl not burst into a swarm of rose petals which even took Alexandria completely off guard.
"Ok, magic is one thing, sure, but this is outright fucking cheating. Why can't I do anything like that?" She internally complained, not letting any of the students even put the thought together that she didn't have a semblance.
Reforming back into a human being, Ruby came crashing down onto her red haired opponent and swung her gun - scythe aided by her gravitational momentum and shattered Nora's remaining aura. "Team RWBY wins. Good job Ms. Rose. Excellent use of your semblance at the end. That's the creativity I was talking about." Alexandria complimented the silver eyed girl for her ingenuity. "Alright, Team CFVY's next. JNPR, get some water and recharge your aura's. Let's see if you can redeem yourselves."
"JNPR wins, a good comeback by Pyrrha."
"CFVY takes the cake, step it up CRDL."
"LAPZ barely scraped by, I expected more from you CRDL."
"RWBY being in good synch, very good."
The bell rang for lunch after the final fight making the battle weary students excited to finally catch a break and recharge their energy. "Mr. Arc, please see me after lunch." Requested Alexandria, watching as his shoulders slumped in defeat upon hearing her words.
Deciding to get some food herself, she followed the hungry students to the residential cafeteria. Getting herself a plate of pasta she'd never heard of before alongside an unhealthy serving of chocolate cake, she took up a spot against the wall to better watch over the students and made sure everything went smoothly. In the midst of fulfilling her sweet tooth's desire, a sharp yelp of pain came from her left. Looking over, she saw Team CRDL's leader pulling on one of CFVY's Faunus ears. Tightening her hand into a death grip, the spoon she was carrying twisted into nothing more than scrap before she set down her food and made her way over to the scene.
Not making a sound despite her overwhelming presence, her sudden appearance shocked Team's RWBY and JNPR who were sitting at an adjacent table. Grabbing Cardin by the collar, she lifted the teenager a solid foot off the ground and brought him to eye level. "Mr. Winchester, you have five seconds to explain just what the fuck you were doing."
The boy squirmed and struggled to try and get free of her grip, but she held onto him like iron. "Screw off, why do you care? They're just animals." He said, trying to deflect her question which only served to make her angrier.
Grabbing one of his arms, she squeezed, pressing deep onto his nerves making them burn and flair in pain. Cardinal screamed and tried to force her hand away, but it didn't help whatsoever. Bringing him closer to her face, an inch is all that separated Alexandria's unending wrath and Cardinal's eternal torment. "It doesn't feel so nice when you're the victim, doesn't it, Mr. Winchester? You know what? You're going to be spending lunch with me." She said with venom lacing her voice. Recklessly tossing him to the ground, she pointed back to where the combat class was being held. "My room, now." She ordered. Finally knowing what was good for him, he scurried out of the cafeteria. Sooner or later, Alexandria would make good on her promise.
Turning to Velvet who was nursing her sore rabbit ears, Alexandria helped pick the girl up from the floor and wiped off the food that stained her school uniform. Almost like a completely different person from the one who just threatened the school bully, Alexandria led Velvet over to the service window and helped her get a replacement meal. "Ms. Scarlatina, if he ever touches you again, you come find me, alright? I'll make sure he wished he was never born."
A bit timid because of the encounter, Velvet nodded her head with a rather quiet, "Yes ma'am, thank you" before turning and heading back to her team. Nora was the first to stand and start clapping. It didn't take long for others to follow with the entire cafeteria erupting in cheers following her example.
Waving away their applause, she didn't do it for attention. She remembered when she was a kid growing up in Beta Company how some of the angrier trainees took their frustration out on their smaller brethren. Each and every time she would do her best to stand up to their bullying, often resorting to fights winning some and losing some. She always got some extra PT or less meals for it, but it was so worth it.
Finishing her meal, she met with Cardin back in her classroom messing around on his scroll. Taking the device from him, she put in one of her pouches. "Nope, you've lost your privileges. Now you're gonna fight me. Stand up." She ordered, gesturing for him to get on his feet.
Trying to put on a semblance of a face, even after she threw him like a toy in the cafeteria, he momentarily refused. That earned him a forceful yank as she grabbed and threw him on the floor a second time. Leaning in real close, she made sure he felt her words. "You will do as I say. I'm being nice compared to the unthinkable killing machines you are here to learn how to fight. Do you think the Grimm are just gonna throw you around? They won't stop and give you second chances. Or the White Fang. Are they gonna go easy on you just because you have a fancy license? I don't think so, Mr. Winchester. So I suggest you get your ass up because the longer you test my patience, the more I'm gonna make you hurt."
Cardin visibly gulped in fear, his eyes darting around looking for any way to escape the heavily armored woman that stood above him. Now thoroughly terrified of his combat professor, he slowly crawled his way to his feet and walked over to the combat arena, mace in hand. Drawing her knife and sidearm, her MJOLNIR's sensors informed her she had roughly two mags left. "Ah fuck it, I need dust sooner than later."
While not her usual setup, it would have to do until Ruby and Nora were available. Examining his form, it was clear he'd take a similar approach to a Brute Chieftain. Fats moving, go in for a crippling strike, daze his opponent, and don't let up. She's handled bigger fish before. Letting Cardin take the first swing, he charged towards her, mace held down low ready to take out one of her legs. Bouncing off to the side, she easily dodged the attack and stabbed him in the back with her knife before putting a few rounds into his aura sending him stumbling.
Backpedaling to put herself at range, while confident that she could easily take him on, Alexandria wasn't about to throw caution to the wind. This was as much of a learning experience for her as it was for Cardin. He was fast in his recovery and went to close the gap she had left behind. Firing what was left in her pistol, he managed to actually block one or two which caught Alexandria off guard. Flicking the spent magazine out at Cardin's face, he ducked to avoid the makeshift projectile bringing himself to perfect knee height.
Swinging with multiple lighter attacks compared to his heavier opening, Alexandria used her gauntlets and knife to redirect and parry most of the attacks with a few impacting the heavy plating of her MJOLNIR making her shields flare in response. Slapping in her last magazine, she put a few bullets in Cardin's foot throwing him off balance before she sent an armored knee directly into his nose followed by a flurry of rotating kicks which sent him flying backwards.
Thoroughly angry, any sense of fear Cardin may have had towards his professor was replaced with that aggressive desire to win. Swinging his mace onto the ground, he activated its secondary feature causing a rift of explosions to blast their way to Alexandria forcing her to tuck and roll. Whatever dust was loaded was potent enough to still catch her in the blast throwing her on her back. Her shields popped as she slammed onto the ground, taking the brunt of the hit that would've otherwise probably mained her.
Concussed, she warily tried to get her footing as Cardin brought forward a flurry of blows trying to get the definitive upper hand. Forcefully shaking off her headache for a moment, Alexandria crouched low and waited for Cardin to open his body mid swing. When the moment was right, she leaped forward and tackled him to the ground. Her legs pinned his arms in place, not letting him move an inch.
"If you want to yield, now's the time. If not, you're getting a black eye." She threatened him. Providing an incentive, she put a little more of her weight forward to dig into his arms with the only thing keeping them from breaking being his depleted aura.
In a display of tactical brilliance, Cardin took a deep breath and nodded. "Alright, alright. You win, Professor." He conceded, letting go of his mace as proof.
Getting off of the boy, Alexandria extended a hand which he gladly took. Hoisting him back on his feet, she gave him back his scroll before looking at a clock. "If I ever see you bully someone again, I'm sending you home with broken legs. Got it?"
"Yeah, I get it." He half - assed in response.
"I'm sorry, what was that?" She snapped back, snapping him to an attentive, upright state.
"I understand, Professor; completely." He straightened out, making sure there was no misunderstanding between them.
Alexandria kicked him in the butt to make him get a move on. "Good. Now go. Next class starts in five minutes."
Watching as he hurriedly and desperately scattered, Alexandria could only sigh. "Even in a world as fantastical as this, people still bully like it means something. Ozpin should know, that kid needs to be on a leash." She thought, sending the Headmaster a message from her TACPAD.
Sitting down, she felt her MJOLNIR's autoinjectors dispensing pain medicine for the concussion. The best way she could describe that fight was like her skirmish against a Brute Chieftain on Concord. That thing left her arm in pieces, but her heavier duty MJOLNIR just barely kept it from being amputated. As the bell rang and the next class for the day entered, Alexandria smiled. While not the situation she desired to be in, it certainly beat the alternative of being dead in that portal room that sent her here.
Finishing her day with no other problems, when she was closing up for the night, she was surprised to see Team CFVY waiting for her outside of her classroom. "Hey girls, what's going on?" She asked, slightly tilting her head in pure curiosity.
Coco elbowed Velvet in the ribs. "C'mon it's your time to shine." The team leader egged on her favorite team member.
Walking up to Alexandria, Velvet had trouble making direct eye contact, even if she tried her hardest. "Thank you, Professor, for earlier. I'm really grateful." She said, looking back at her team with a level of awkwardness Alexandria thought only Spartans could achieve.
"Go on, you rehearsed this all day, don't give up now." Coco cheered Velvet on with pure enthusiasm.
"Other than my team, no one's really done that before. Even the other Professors, they usually just let him off with a warning. So, just, thank you… again." Velvet finished, standing there waiting for any reaction from Alexandria.
Reaching out, Alexandria placed her armored hand on Velvet's head. "I was simply doing my job. I don't need any thanks, but I appreciate it. Humans, Faunus, you're all people to me. That racist bast — scum doesn't deserve anything if he's gonna pull stunts like that." Kneeling down to CFVY's eye level, she glanced at each of them with a shine in her eyes. "I can't be everywhere at once though, so I'm trusting that your teammates will have your back?" The quartet of young women nodded, although Alexandria could tell that with someone like Coco by their side, she'd need to hurry to stop someone from dying. "Good. Now do any of you know where Ruby Rose and Nora Valkyrie are?"
Beacon Academy, Kingdom of Vale
March 27th, 1637 Hours, 2560
Down in the weaponsmith room of Beacon, Alexandria sat with her trusty M247H and Mk. 50 Sidekick disassembled so neatly it would make most drill instructors jealous. Beside her, Ruby was sprawled out taking measurements and reading the diagnostics of Alexandria's guns all while absolutely nerding out about their capabilities. She was chatterboxing every possible question, and then some, leaving Alexandria barely any room to breathe in between answers. Nora, meanwhile, was experimenting with the best possible dust combinations that matched Alexandria's desire. Of course she wanted her precious HEIAP rounds; she was a heavy weapons specialist after all.
With the occasional micro - detonation from Nora's side of the room, Alexandria looked at the blueprints Ruby was sketching up. "Ya know Ruby, you struck me as dedicated, but not fanatic. You haven't even looked up since asking me the last round of questions. You sure you got everything you needed?"
"Yup." Came a reply without hesitation. "I built Crescent Rose while at Signal Academy all by myself. Although I may have gone a bit overboard with its design. Still, it's cool and awesome!" She proudly declared shooting her fists in the air to add a sense of theatrics.
Alexandria just smiled and nodded at the more - than - likely ADHD teenager. "It's… certainly unique. Not my first choice since I'm more of a heavy lead spitter."
"What's a lead splitter?" Asked Nora who caught the little slip in Alexandria's speech.
Internally freaking the fuck out, Alexandria kept a cool exterior and simply shook her head. "It's a saying in Atlas. No clue why, it just is."
"Ok!" Shrugged Nora who went back to being the true mad scientist that she was. She was singing another tune about pancakes when an explosion blew up in her face, knocking her back and filling the room with the particular scarring of red dust particles.
Scurrying over to the fallen girl, Alexandria held her up while she coughed, clearly having caught some dust in her lungs. "Breathe, kid, breathe. Don't worry, you're not choking. That one must've rocked you hard. Everything still in one piece, Nora?" An extremely concerned Alexandria joked to ease the suspense in the air.
A few more choking coughs were made before Nora could form any words. "That. Was. AWESOME!." She practically yelled, her overpowering optimism radiating through the room. "I feel like I'm really close to that piercing exploding flame dust you want, Professor. What were in those things you used in the forest? They were so cool! They ripped through that Nevermore like it was Beowolf!"
Ruby chimed in, cutting off whatever Nora was gonna say next. "Whatever Atlas came up with worked super duper well from what I saw. I wish I had some for Crescent Rose, but —"
Not to be outdone, Nora took back the reins of her precious monologue. "But knowing Atlas they're just gonna keep it to themselves." She said, rolling her eyes and putting on a snobby tone. "How long until you go back there anyways Professor?"
"Ehhhh I was told to sit tight and things will move in due time. Yeah I thought it was vague too." Alexandria responded, pulling one out of her ass that matched the conversation. "I'm hoping they've got more ready. These things were custom built for that ammo, but because Atlas can't be simple, I've gotta wait to get more which is why I brought you two down here.
Ruby was fascinated with Alexandria's story; too bad it was just a story. Alexandria felt bad for lying to the two Huntresses - in - training, but until she met General Ironwood she'd be stuck using dust which had an iffy success rate at best. From what she saw, it's killing ability was virtually none unless hitting soft flesh; anything else screwed it so badly its magical properties were more effective. But she had to hand it to Nora. Whatever dust she was using clearly packed the punch she was looking for.
"Alright! Ms. Alexandria, I think I have your design!" Ruby exclaimed with a wide smile holding up the blueprint like it was her magnum opus.
Examining it, Alexandria clearly saw the genius of Ruby's gunsmithing. It had barely taken her more than a few hours, but she managed to do what only Spartans could do faster. The outer shell was identical in design with all of the guts seemingly interchangeable with the original except pressured to use dust. If ONI could get their hands on someone like Ruby, hell, if they could get their hands on the entirety of Remnant they'd be living that high for the rest of time.
Alexandria nodded. She was more than impressed; she was downright ecstatic at the progress. "Good job Ruby. Let's get to building a prototype while Nora finishes up with the dust order. Speaking of which… Nora, if you get it done within the hour I'll buy you a month's supply of pancakes with my next pay. With syrup."
Now driven with an incentive Nora could only have ever dreamed of, not even becoming a huntress could compare to the immediate and hands on deliciousness of so many pancakes. Looking over her shoulder, she stared at her soon - to - be - best friend and crisply saluted. "You got it! One dust round coming right up."
Alexandria chuckled. As much as she was an optimist, even she's had her moments. Around Nora, it seemed like every minute was a fun one. Reassembling Alexandria's weapons, she and Ruby took them to the attached range and practiced a few dry fire tests before moving on to basic dust rounds the academy kept for training purposes. Holding her precious machine gun, it felt heavy as her hands nervously shook. For once in her life, she waited with baited breath and had to forcefully calm herself down.
Taking a deep breath, she settled herself before taking aim and firing at the empty backdrop. It happened slower than expected, whether her increased reaction time, the velocity of the dust, or both. Calculating the travel, it was only a third of what she was used to. While both excited and sad, after putting through a few single loads, Alexandria decided to take the gloves off.
"Ruby, how much of this stuff can you legally get me right now? If we're gonna test this thing, we should do it right." Alexandria remarked, giving her the go - ahead to go nuts.
Radiating with the feeling of empowerment, Ruby broke off into a stream of rose petals as they swooped past the majority of ammo crates. In barely a few seconds, the young teen reformed beside Alexandria and dropped what could only be a few thousand training rounds. With an approving nod, the two of them filled Alexandria's hard case and chambered the first proper test run.
"Cover your ears and get behind me in case this goes wrong." Alexandria warned Ruby who did as she was told. Knowing just how potent a catastrophic dust explosion could be, she also consciously activated her aura. "Alright. Weapon systems in 3…2…1."
Holding the trigger and letting loose the familiar torrent of bullets, Alexandria watched as it cycled and fed, keeping up the churning she had grown so accustomed to. After finishing the first pack of rounds, she turned to Ruby and held up a high five which the smaller girl slammed her hand into.
Bouncing up and down with happiness filling every inch of her body, Ruby cheered like she had just won something. "Yes! What'd I tell you, Professor? I'm super good at this." Ruby gloated, one of the few times she was afforded the luxury. "Now you gotta pay up. My services don't come free after all." Ruby said, outstretching an arm waiting for payment.
Cracking a smile, Alexandria almost burst out laughing at the young Rose's antics. "The Cookie Monster will get her due. I'll send them to your dorm room. Hell, you built this thing first try. I'll double it as a token of merit."
Ruby's eyes went wide hearing the freebie offer. Almost falling into a state of shock, she stood there for a minute trying to process the amount of sweet treats she'll have to munch on. Alexandria flicked her forehead, causing her to reel back and hold the now tender spot. "Owwww… why?" She squeaked as she felt a slight headache as tears filled the corners of her eyes.
Alexandria lowered her head a little. She didn't mean to hit Ruby that hard, she just thought her aura was still up. "Are you alright? I'm sorry Ruby, I didn't mean for it to be like that."
"It's ok." Ruby said through the pain, quickly forgiving Alexandria's mistake. Taking a few minutes to gather her bearings, Ruby just sat and watched Alexandria test her strange guns. "Professor? Did Atlas make you those?" She asked with a level of uncertainty having seen the unknown logo on the gun shield.
Looking at the girl, she brought up her TACPAD and sent a message to Ozpin. "Let me ask someone with more clearance to talk about origins. If they say yes, I can tell you all about it. If not, sorry, outta luck." A pop - up on her HUD indicated a very quick response from Ozpin. Opening it, she saw his response fell under 'lying by omission'. Everything like her abilities were already seen in action so there's nothing to hide; but, the fact that she's an alien to Remnant was to stay hidden.
"Alright, I think I've got it!" Nora's sudden vibrancy appeared from the doorway interrupting them. "Check this out." She said, holding a handful of combined dust ammo. Grabbing one, she haphazardly threw it down range and the three of them watched it explode into a fiery ball of death.
Raising a brow, Alexandria had to admit: they had an explosive punch. "Good. Let's get this show on the road. Nora, mix a batch with the training rounds. Ruby, you just sit tight?" The shorter girl just rubbed her forehead and nodded. After Nora was done interspersing her custom rounds with the training ones, the trio got ready. "Ok. War crime commencing in 3…2…1."
Alexandria had every piece of confidence in Ruby and Nora's skills. From her research, these kids could break down and put together their custom, albeit very 'what the fuck', type weapons blindefolded and half asleep. With the main experiment well under way, the first special dust round that fed into her machine gun let off a noticeable sonic boom as it left the barrel, flying down range and exploding on impact just as Nora had shown. A screech of victory escaped Nora's lips, proud of what she made. After it was all said and done, Alexandria dropped her gear and gave the two students pats on the back for a job well done.
"Good stuff girls. Only downside I saw was it moved much slower than what I had. But it made up for that in its explosive performance." She complimented, throwing in a cheesy joke that nonetheless got a few laughs from the residential goofs. "Now, onto other things. Ruby, you wanted to know what I was using before, and I was told I can share. Long story short, it's experimental ammo chemically made that doesn't use dust since the Schnee Dust Company is jacking the price. Atlas gave me a batch for their one - of - a - kind gun; something sturdy in case it blew up in our faces during proper testing. I got dropped off in Vale since it's the most tame of the kingdoms and now I'm here."
"So what happens now that you've used it all?"
"Now what happens is I'm waiting to get picked up or more dropped off. That's why I asked you two to help me with this. With this personal project done, you two can turn in for the night. It's still a school night and last I checked you have class tomorrow." Alexandria said, motioning them to start heading to their dorms.
Watching them leave, she turned her attention to the scribbles that made up Nora's handwriting. It was clear that it was the mixture of the dust round, and thankfully the chemistry wasn't all too different from its basic premise. "If you want something done, gotta do it yourself." She thought giving her fingers a resounding crack, she began having her own go at copying Nora's design.
She worked into the late evening. The sun that had shone through the windows had fallen well below the horizon as the moon was cresting over it. She looked at the clock off in the corner of her HUD. '1928' it read as she stood and stretched her muscles. She'd be turning in soon; staying up for nights on end scouring every piece of information on the planet was slowly catching up to her. After all, she wasn't a Spartan II no matter how much she wanted to be.
With a deep yawn that reverberated throughout the room, she turned and started making her way to the elevator that ran the spine of the academy. Rest would have to wait, she had a few questions for Ozpin. Sitting behind his desk, the man in question seemed ready and waiting for her arrival.
Tapping his cane on the floor, he stood up with a slightly audible grunt. "Ah, Alexandria. I believe you're here to ask about a certain feature of my academy? I'm more than willing to answer any questions you have." He said as open and willing as he's always been since their first meeting.
"And you'd be right, boss. First things first, don't be alarmed, even for me I was able to hack into the CCTS without much of a challenge. I'm no technician, dusting off my basic cyber warfare really. But the lack of cyber security is astonishingly bad. It's almost inviting anyone to get in through the several back doors left open. Too bad you guys don't have any smart or even dumb A.I. to handle it. Long story short, it's piss and shit." Alexandria explained, clearly having a little descriptive flare.
Ozpin nodded his head at every word, listening and understating the alien woman's concerns. "Duly noted. I'll get someone to work on beefing up security. Now, I suppose there was something else?" He asked, nodding for her to continue from her previous statement.
"Yeah. So what I did was download a copy of Beacon's blueprints. Thing is, I couldn't help but notice this large room underground. Is it a fallout shelter? Looks big enough to house all the students. The problem there is that this is essentially a war school so Grimm are barely a nuisance for most of these kids. Then I thought it was some reserve weapon storage, but no, everyone's already armed. That leaves it open to being, oh I don't know, an unmarked blacksite used for experimentation?" Alexandria ticked, getting a little conspiratorial trying to rouse any sort of reaction from Ozpin.
The man stood still as a statue. He didn't appear to react at the notion of a blacksite. The problem with people like him though was that stoicism always had a tell. Flickering her eyes up and down, she noticed a barely imperceptible adjustment in his weight on his cane. "There it is. Ticks tell stories."
Ozpin, no fool to this himself, simply smiled when he could tell the armored woman knew. "You're better than I thought. If you'll humor me, I'd rather keep my cards close to my chest until I have time to think. This is my academy after all and you're still new to Remnant."
Alexandria didn't like his answer. She's dealt with too many ONI spooks screwing with her missions and getting people killed to just give the benefit of the doubt. But at the same time he was right. She was a newcomer and this was his home, so she'd respect that for the time being. Besides, she got what she was looking for, even if unofficially.
"That's fair. Not like I'm going anywhere so come find me when you think I'm trustworthy." She said, putting a sliver of faith into the man and taking her leave.
