There had many notable changes to the time line that she had observed. Most she could have predicted after factoring in her involvement. Others however completely took her by surprise and nearly gave her a heart attack.
"Lorgar is not building monasteries?!" Alesia's shock could not be contained as she read reports regarding the Seventeenth Legion's progress. "And he's completely outlawed temple prostitution?"
"It's been a trend since the execution of his first Second-in-Command," Robute Guilliman said. They were in her massive study in the Imperial Palace. Her brother had come back with Horus in tow to discuss a number of matters she could assist in. "Ever since he uncovered the disgusting debauchery that had been happening in his Legion, Lorgar has been overhauling his Legion's ideology and cracking down on his sons' actions."
"What the heck did the guy do to warrant this? I keep hearing about an incident that happened in his Legion years ago, but no one wants to elaborate when I ask about it."
"Because what he discovered shamed Lorgar, his Legion, and the entire Imperium. And you are still too young to hear of the details," Her brother said firmly before directing her attention back to the topic he came to her for. "As for the conquest of the Polaris Sector, three hundred worlds have been conquered and are being brought into compliance. However, many of these worlds are in dire need of your brand of assistance."
"Just how bad did the Word Bearers ravage these worlds?"
"They didn't ravage them. They were long since polluted and ruined during the Dark Age of Technology."
"So we'll need to deploy the Gaea Hands to these worlds is what you're saying." The Princess turned to the Scribe, the boy that had challenged her to a duel years ago on Sindicar. "Elias, make sure the Gaea Hands receive the reports regarding the worlds in need of clean up and inform them to make preparations."
"Yes, your Highness," the now adolescent Elias Silas bowed, took the reports from Guilliman, and hurried out.
The Gaea Hands were a branch of the Elysian Project geared towards terra forming, environmental clean up and ecological restoration. After hundreds of hive cities received greenhouses, it became apparent that having local farms outside the cities were needed and the condition of the planets were found to be terrible to out right uninhabitable. It took some time, but Alesia was able to form a designated group of scientists and volunteers that would gradually restore worlds.
"With how much time has passed, we might not be able to fully heal these worlds, brother," she sighed. "Those planets may need to become resource worlds and relocate civilians."
"That's unlike you, sister," Horus chimed in from his place next to one of her massive book shelves. He had been looking through her tomes, trying to find information pertaining to folklore of regions he had conquered in recent years. Her bald brother gently returned the tome to it's place and continued, "Why so pessimistic this time?"
"There were multiple worlds Perturabo recently brought into compliance that forced us to relocated civilians. Only small pockets were habitable, and the rest will take centuries if not millennia to restore." She told him. "Jaghatai has also reported multiple worlds in similar conditions."
"Really?" Horus looked surprised, and then schooled his emotions. "It takes that long to restore a planet?"
"Unfortunately yes. We're constantly trying to find ways to speed up the process, but it is a tedious and delicate process to do right. One mistake can set back any progress made by a decade."
The conversation dwindled to planning the logistics and initial timeline until all the details were as ironed out as they could be and they decided to go for a walk through the Princess's Wing of the Palace.
After her thirteenth birthday, Alesia was given an entire wing of the Imperial Palace for her own use. Since her birth, she had been residing in a room close to the Emperor's quarters, but now that her father was sure her psyker powers were under control he gave her the space she needed to grow. She now had a larger bedroom, study, her own library and kitchen, and many facilities for her own use.
"I see you've settled in rather well," Horus commented in approval as they made their way to the Elysian Gardens. "I was worried you'd be lonely here."
"Kithes is still around and several more Custodes decided to assign themselves to be part of my guard," she said with a smile. "Between them and the servants' antics, there's not a dull moment here."
"With Santodes being the main provider of entertainment," Robute added dryly just as the Custodes in question made a dramatic entrance while holding a plate of her favorite cheese cake.
"Oh beloved Princess!" Santodes greeted the Imperial Princess with a little too much enthusiasm while handing her the treat. "Head Chef Komari is asking what you would like for dinner and if your brothers will be joining you."
"We will be joining her," Horus spoke up before she could respond.
"Perhaps we can try that udon dish she said she was experimenting with," Alesia suggested and her brothers agreed with her.
"Wonderful! I shall inform her post haste!" And Santodes left just as flamboyantly has he came.
"I worry about your selection of guards, sister," Robute said, clearly concerned with her sister's well being around the odd Custodes.
"He does his duty, big brother," she reassured him, "and he's too busy making babies with Komari to do anything inappropriate."
"W-Wait, what?!" Horus exclaimed and Robute's jaw dropped. "Since when could Custodes get it up?"
"Apparently since she made doriyaki years ago and awoke something in him," she laughed at their outright shock. "She'll be going on maternity leave soon for their third child."
Later, Malcador would ask why two Primarchs looked like they were having an existential crisis and laughed when Alesia explained what caused it.
