C1 rushed towards the Hellpods a feeling of relief spreading over his body as he finally could get off the planet back into liberty's eternal comfort. He activated his jump pack as he approached a creak going above it, as he nearly reachec his fellow dives. C1 then arrived at the landing site seeing multiple Hellpods in the ground, the grates strewn haphazardly around it. C1 groaned as the divers had moved on already.
"Come in Super Destroyer comms woman." C1 said tiredly to the woman from earlier speaking through his Federal Hellpad. He was met with silence from his helmets speakers until she spoke up twenty seconds later.
"Helldiver please don't refer to me as 'comm woman', I am the chief communications officer." She replied to C1.
"Acknowledged, sorry about that miss." C1 said to the officer. "So where are they?" He asked her.
"They have traveled North to a clearing for," She paused to read what their mission was. "To investigate if their is life on the planet. There apparently is a light source for them to investigate." She concluded.
"There is sentient life on the planet so that answers that, so can you extract us then." He asked the officer. She stayed silent after this not answering the question only saying.
"Acknowledged. Go North to a clearing there you'll see the light were the other divers are investigating." She said. "I'll try to connect you to the Democracy Officer in the meantime." She finished.
"Thank you miss." He said to the officer exhausted. The communication's ending wiith this and Keledones approaching C1.
"So you had fun talking with yourself." It joked to the Helldiver.
"I'm heading North to people who can help me." He said to the automaton before turning to him. "And they may not be friendly to you, bad experiences with your Ilk." He finished before running off again leaving his, now former companion.
"Good to know then." Keledones said looking to the running Helldiver before its opened up its head and projecting a portal and stepping into it.
"So think it'll be friendly." J3 asked to his squad mates.
"Definitely not, when have you ever heard of a friendly Xenos." B2 replied to his friend. "But it doesn't seem to be that advanced." He continued.
"Helldivers I've become aware the distress beacon is a SEAF operative." He said to them. "Wait for them before confronting the enemy." He instructed the four who all silently nodded to the orders.
"So guys do you want to wait now or at the clearing." H1 asked the other three, to be truly democratic.
"Let's go we can scope out the Xenos, before we meet up with them." N4 said to his teammate who all looked at him evaluating what he had said.
"Fair enough." J3 agreed to the Trenchdivers suggestion the other two nodding to his agreement. The four then continued on North nothing interrupting them only seeing the trees and the pitch blackness englulfing them. Their walk continued for about ten minutes, until they exited the pitch blackness before entering into clearing illuminated by the moonlight making all four stop and look around the area looking for the sign of the Xenos.
"Kay so where are the Xenos then." B2 asked to no one looking around the clearing searching for any signs of movement.
"So do you want to split up or stay together." H1 asked the other three divers.
"I think we should stay here for a bit. We don't know if the stranded guy can find us in this darkness." J3 said to his fellows.
"Fair enough." H1 said before checking his Hellpad to view their objective. "So how do you think they got here, the SEAF operative I mean." He said to the others.
"Probably got sucked into the time-space anomaly when it first opened up." N4 suggested to the others. They then sat in a pensive silence unsure of what to say after N4 suggestions before they heard a shout of, "Democracy".
"Do you think thats them." H1 asked the others.
"Definitely." B2 said, "What Xeno could think of a system as perfect as democracy."
"Hang on shouldn't we shout back to them." J3 asked the others who agreed with nods or a thumbs up. "Okay, FOR SUPER EARTH." He shouted back to the stranded Diver.
"FOR LIBERTY." They shouted back to the group it being closer then the first shout of 'democracy'. The four waited there illuminating the forest with the weapons making a clear marker for the stranded operative.
"Should we shout back to them again?" H1 asked the others who stayed silent before they all heard the sound of a jump pack activating illuminating the forest, as they landed in their weapons lights still under the cover of the tree. The four looked at the now revealed Helldiver who visibly looked exhausted and had both his left leg and helmet covered in blood or guts.
N4 and H1 immediately raised their arms into a hug to greet their fellow Diver, who quickly reciprocated the friendly action before asking the four. "Ohh sweet liberty thank god I found you." C1 said to the four. "Okay we can leave now." C1 said longingly, approaching a J3 not realising it was a scout handshake.
"No we still have a mission to complete." B2 said to C1, ready to play rock paper scissors with him. "And your name..."
"My helldiver designation is C1." He said accepting the 'handshake'. "So what is the mission then?" C1 asked the four before he fell for J3's trick.
"Investigate the type of flora or fauna on the planet, there is a unknown source of light," N4 began before he pointed towards North "over there." He finished.
"I have met the Xenos on this planet, filthy autocrats trying to enslave a lost colony of humans." C1 told the four who visibly looked shocked at the revelation he told them.
"Sweet liberty that is disgusting." H1 said quietly more to himself than the others.
The other three held similar views, "Absolutely deplorable." N4 said and B2 saying, "Despicable." J3 took this the worst and looked like he was ready to crack and free his fellow humans and eradicate the filth that had done this in a few seconds.
"And the worst of all they hide it all behind how they actually love humans and want to give them joy." C1 said venomously before continuing. "Two have attempted to do that to me before I thankfully escaped both." C1 said semi-proudly before shivering at the memory.
"Well that does it. We have to kill this filth immediately." J3 said suddenly before running off in the direction of the sign of life.
"Okay lets go guys." H1 said and started following after his fellow diver, the other three following the two as they made their way to the objective.
"Miss some more of the weird magic has appeared in the sky." Michelle said hastily entering the tent only to silence herself as she remembered what was happening in the tent. Druella immediately perked up at this and pushed both of her parents off her form, and stood up rushing to Michelle.
"When did this happen." She said slightly shaking the hellhound.
"Just now miss." Michelle replied to the lilim. Lilith picked herself up from the couch and approached her daughter.
"Im sorry sweetheart but that won't be your husband." She said as she hugged Druella whose ears and tail drooped in disappointment.
"I'm sorry I just got so excited about the connection." She said as tears swelled up in her eyes again. Arthur to got up from the couch and walked to his daughter and put a hand on her cheek.
"Sweetie listen I don't want you to get to excited about this but we could use necromancy to revive him." He said, Druella now being reinvigorated by the prospect.
"Why didn't I think about that." She said to herself wiping away tears and pushing her mother away from her and making her way to the exit of the tent. Her mother moved to stop instantly and wrapped her tail around the lilims waist, arresting her way to the exit. "What. Mama let me go." She shouted when she found that it was her mother stopping her.
"Sorry sweetie but you still are unstable after your breakdown." Her father said walking up to them.
"I am perfectly fine." She shouted as most in the tent felt a pressure on them.
"Druella that's final. Your staying here with your mother while I find and resurrect your husband." Her father said firmly.
"Okay." Was her only answer slumping into the embrace of her mother.
"Good, Michelle I'll need your help, I also need to recruit a lich." He said turning to his wife. "Honey can you open a portal to a lich." He asked.
"Yes, Elizabeth should suffice I think." Lilith said thinking of said undead in the Royal Makai. "See you soon darling." She said blowing a kiss to the fallen hero, before materialising a portal for the hellhound and incubus.
"So this is the place." J3 said as the others finally arrived to a small hill overlooking the place they had to investigate revealing a small camp.
"Yep." N4 said looking on the camp as well. C1 didn't talk and used the scope of his liberator to see what the camp housed.
"Definitely human." C1 said lowering his weapon and looking around at the four. "We don't need to investigate them my armour has already recorded multiple conversations with them." He said as the voice of the democracy officer then filled all of their helmets.
"Acknowledged Helldiver. We also have located your super destroyer, it has some unknown type of energy surrounding it putting it into a stasis field." He said before continuing. "We are trying to pinpoint the thing causing the stasis but extraction is now available." He said before a extraction beacon descended from the sky.
"Thank liberty finally off this shithole of a planet." He said before he got tackled from behind. "Not again." He shouted as he tumbled down the hill next to the camp. C1 looked up to his attacker to see a tall women with tanned skin, and barely dressed as every autocrat on the planet was. C1 then punched her and attempted to squirm out of her grasp.
"Did you get him." A voice asked from beside the two who now started wrestling.
"Yes but help subdue him Mara." The one wrestling C1 asked her fellow.
"Kay try to hold them still." The one called Mara said to the valkyrie. The sound of a bow string being readied resounding in the air and the valkyrie trying to hold him as still as she could. C1 retaliated against this with a headbutt getting the valkyrie to relinquish him and letting him roll away, accidentally knocking over another autocrat.
"Gah." Mara said after she was knocked over by surprise, with C1 picking himself up and pulling out his flamethrower and started to spray a torrent of flames at the autocrats.
"Ha. Ha. Get some. Get some." C1 shouted alerting the camp, the two recoiling as far as they could from the flames. C1 stopped firing and changed to his liberator firing at the two hitting most of the shots blood splattering on the floor around them. C1 then left to rejoin the other four seeing them shooting at some more autocrats. He quickly activated the jump pack ascending the hill ready to dispense freedom.
"Say hello to Democracy." He heard N4 scream as he fired at a horde of autocrats with his heavy machine gun, blowing up or dismembering the attackers. A valkyrie then snuck up behind him and prepared to stab him with her malformed broad sword, the hilt looking like a pink heart. B2 then aimed his dagger at the stealth attacker quickly boring a hole into her chest as she collapsed letting out her final gasp.
"Let 'em HAVE IT! Kill them ALL!!" H1 screamed as he unloaded a whole magazine of his pummeler into the encroaching autocratic crowd. J3 supported him by using both his bushwhacker and cookout killing the ones H1 missed or didn't kill.
C1s jump pack reactivated as he made sure his liberator was topped up, before rocketing up and landing shooting down a Houri and screaming. "Democracy has landed." He said as he continued to fire on the autocrats laughing. He then checked the timer for the extraction seeing it to be a minute left until their Pelican 1 arrived.
"C1 get down." B2 said as the valkyrie he shot from the bottom of the hill lunged for him again. C1 obliged and dove out the way as B2 charged his purifier and fired, exploding the valkyrie. C1 then layed crumpled before twisting himself revealing he had a piece of the angel armour who blew up, embedded in his chest.
"Sweet liberty I'm bleeding out." He screamed as he attempted to pull out the shrapnel out before shrieking at the pain. The other four looked at him in concern as he lay on the ground now occasionally whimpering or groaning as he attempted to pull out the shrapnel.
"Shit." H1 muttered as he ran up to his fellow diver, the other three continuing to dispatch their attackers.
"Dammit." B2 said as he looked to the accident he caused. "Sorry C1." He said apologetically before turning around and shooting the last autocrat, it being a tanned woman in a revealing pink uniform.
"Sweet liberty is he alright." J3 asked running over to inspect the injury C1 received.
"No. Either impaled in the lung or rib, but hopefully its not that big of a piece of shrapnel in him." H1 said as C1 whimpered, as the Princess of Family Value's physician touched his wound.
"Chaos bringers your reign of destroying love has ended." A voice said from behind them a portal then opening up. A tanned woman exited the portal emitting a ethereal glow and floating a foot off the ground. She looked at the scene in front of her before landing on C1 eyes widening.
"Elizbeth are you awake." Arthur said knocking the door of a room of one his wife's most trusted confidant. The door opened suddenly revealing a six foot two women dressed in a luxurious purple cloak and a metal cross floating behind her.
"Arthur I haven't seen you for months." She said warmly unlike her grim demeanour, and pulled him into a friendly hug. "And whose this." She said referring to the hellhound who she dwarfed over.
"This is michelle, a hellhound whose helping me find my daughter's husband." He said.
"Ohh who is it, is it Mari or Asmodeus it has to be one of the two." She said excitedly before her face fell slightly. "But why has he escaped, and why are you coming to me." She said before gasping. "How did he die." She finished clasping her hands over her mouth.
"Killed him self by jumping off a cliff. He somehow resisted a lilims charm as well." He said to the lich.
"But how that's impossible." She said before continuing. "Let us go immediately." Elizabeth finished turning towards the hellhound. "I presume your here because you know where his death was?" She asked Michelle.
"Yes ma'am." She said before the lich placed her hand on her head.
"Envision were he died." She instructed the hellhound who obliged. "Good let us go then." She finished as she opened up a portal for the three to enter.
Meanwhile it grew once more in its cocoon swirling its half protected body around in the cocoon's slime. The incarnation of tyranny was unfortunately left alone to grow and feed on both flesh and the new energy it had grown addicted to. There was many hunts to locate the killer of multiple mamano and humans but that led to more disappearances or murders giving the bug more sustenance to grow off of.
In its incubation though it was writhing in pain. Something was forcing its way through it's mind and flashing images of planets covered in spores and things that resembled evolved lesser ones. It knew the thing in its head was like itself and was trying to understand the new connection that had appeared in its mind. What it despised though was the pain that it kept bringing onto the cocooned bug.
It felt that the energy inside itself being manipulated, contorted and changed. This had the effect of its body gaining new functions, a sack were acid would be produced, hardened armour, better senses and claws that can extend like the smaler ones. It knew it was changed to be more like the others that to had changed but the agony it endured was not worth it.
Once its incubation was complete it would release its spores into the air allowing it to have a safe territory, while it incubated once more. The ones that released it would search for it but by then it would have already grown to much and if they posed a threat it would simply burrow into the ground to escape to safety.
Another sharp pain spread through its body as a large gaster potruded and formed below one of its bile sacks formed. It hissed internally at the pain that came with each new addition and was prepared for when it could leave.
"So this is were he died then." Elizabeth asked the hellhound as the three stepped out of the portal onto the hard rock below.
"Yes it's the same cliff, and I smell blood this way." She said before walking on all four towards the smell. The two then followed behind Michelle and while not having as an acute senses of smell as the hellhound they smelled practically nothing.
"Are you sure it's this way." Arthur asked the hellhound who nodded silently before stopping.
"The trail ends pretty much here." She said looking at the ground.
"So your telling me that the corpse was some how taken leaving no visible trail of blood." Arthur asked as he looked around, Michelle going down to the ground still sniffing the air.
"Hang on somethings here." She exclaimed referring to a tiny bit of blood on the floor. Elizabeth to bent down to examine the blood, sniffing it and touching the blood.
"Hmm. It's about two hours old and," she paused for a second "the person is still alive, somehow." Elizabeth finished, muttering the last bit out. "Do your remember what he did before jumping off the cliff." She asked.
"Nothing special he just retorted to lady Druella and used the thing on his back to jump super far away from us." She said.
Elizabeth then started to shake the hellhound. "What do you mean 'thing on his back'. What is it." She asked.
"Well he had a thing on his back that let him jump high and save him from hurting himself when he landed..." At this Michelle grew silent. "And he used it before jumping off the cliff." She finished.
"So where is he then. I thought hellhounds could track practically anyone no matter where they go." Arthur asked approaching the two.
"The trail ends not far from here though." Michelle said. "This is the strongest bit of the scent." She finished.
"So where does it lead to then." Arthur asked.
"Over there." Michelle said pointing a distance away. Elizabeth walking towards it.
"Theres residual portal energy here." She said. "Do you want to see where it leads." She asked.
"Yes Elizabeth. Do it immediately." Arthur said sprinting up to her.
"Okay then." She said opening up another portal using the residual energy to open a portal to track C1.
"Get away from him." H1 shouted raising his pummeler as the woman immediately shed her previous persona and started to rush towards the downed Helldiver.
"Please you have to let me help him." She said raising her arms up to show she was no actual threat.
"Back off now." B2 said preparing to fire at the woman.
"Where's Pelican 1?" C1 muttered as he looked to the beacon only seeing incomprehensible gibberish.
"Shit." H1 said as he then tried to talk to the democracy officer only to hear static.
"Let me heal him now." She said more firmly to the four. N4 saw this as a threat and immediately started to shoot his heavy machine gun at her only to miss all his shots before she appeared behind him and pushed him down the hill. The other three then aimed their weapons at her only to be met with a supernaturally powerful gust of wind and tumbled down the hill as well.
"Liberty save me." C1 tried to shout only to fizzle out at the end, as he tried to crawl away from the woman.
"Shhh. Shhh. Shhh. Your going to be safe now." She said soothingly as she picked him up with ease and started cradling him. C1 started to squirm once more as the woman opened up a portal of swirling pink colours.
"Sweet liberty." B2 said as he tumbled down the hill gaining a concussion on the way down. He was then stopped and helped to his feet and a stim getting imbedded into him. "Feels good." He said feeling the stim wash over his body.
"We need to go now." N4 said referring to the top of the hill and the swirling energy.
"Then let's go." H1 said sprinting up the hill, J3 quickly overtaking him as they rose the hill ready to dispense liberty. The four could now see the woman approaching the portal holding C1 who squirmed in her arms.
"Have a taste of FREEDOM." J3 shouted as he fired upon the woman with his sickle. The woman then gasped and dropped C1 who screamed again, and attempted to crawl away from the woman.
"You dare." She screamed at them only to see multiple blue shots, as B2 shot multiple uncharged shots at her making sure C1 wouldn't be hit.
"You three distract her." N4 said to the other three divers who nodded and unloaded a preview of the might of Super Earth. N4 then slunk out of the autocrat view and approached the injured diver who crawled away from the autocrat. The autocrat then screamed and flew up into the air, the three divers still firing at her. She then crashed down onto the ground where the three stood and had dived out of the way only to get caught in a shockwave of pink energy.
"Liberty save me." H1 said getting flung above C1 and landing in the forest. N4 just continued on as C1 noticed him and crawled to his location.
"Okay I got you now." N4 said sprinting towards the diver who was just a few feet away from him. C1 groaned as N4 picked him up and rested him on his shoulder as H1 approached the two and fired at the grounded autocrat.
"Ha ha. Get a taste of democracy." J3 said as multiple shots landed on the autocrats head who shielded it with her arms.
"Pe can 1 l n ing. Hel div r wa ch yo r step." The distorted voice of the pilot said as the autocannons fired at her. She shrieked again and rose into the air but instead flew away into the forest.
"Lets go." B2 said pinging the extraction shuttle, the others gladly entering it as they then ascended into the air to Princess of Family Values the democracy officer congratulating them.
"Democracy prevails once more."
AN: So I made the gods have an actual presence now but I don't know if it was the best idea this early.
