A slight tour around the reconstructed hotel amazed Alastor, doubled in size, and there it is, stands his new radio station. To his surprise, he hadn't expected a room, especially for him, due to his long absence. Thanks to the injury Alastor received on his chest from an angel, he couldn't clearly remember, other than that angel kept screaming, being the first of something. Annoyingly, he grumbled at that unpleasant memory.
At least, Alastor sighed a sort of relief that he hadn't died from that miscalculated fight. He tried to brush it aside and continued touring himself from his room to a hallway across from his, which belonged to Lucifer.
Lucifer.
Alastor rolled his eyes, passing all the staff members' rooms that share the same level. He couldn't believe his business partner, Charlie, would build a special guest room for her dad during his stay. The stress level in Alastor will triple, but if Lucifer doesn't get too involved or interfere like he did during their first meeting, tempting his daughter, everything will be fine. Nothing has happened yet.
Finally, near the end of the hallway where Lucifer's room was, Alastor's observation of the hotel seemed to progress well, glancing outside a tall window as he stared below. Both slaughtered angels and demons buried beneath the rubble were being removed and transferred by demons from Cannibal Town, led by his good dear friend, Rosie, who was having a pleasant conversation with Charlie. Alastor's smile widened, seeing them and wanting to listen to what they were saying.
The shadow beneath him oozed around his legs and then quickly retreated, which alarmed Alastor because that had never happened before unless he was at his lowest point. He felt fine and could control the basics of his power without his microphone staff a few days ago. Strange, but in fear, Alastor hopes his power won't disappear. If it does, he doesn't want to imagine. This ominous feeling leaking through Alastor had him try a second time with the same result, without accepting it as he did it repeatedly until he reluctantly sighed in defeat. Maybe another day or some other night.
Alastor relaxed and made his way to the elevator while humming, thinking how he should greet Rosie and after that, introduce the hotel to her comfortably.
Not even a foot, Lucifer burst out from his room, twirling and went on his knee as he cried, "One of my finest creations I had succeeded in ten days!" Five shiny golden rubber duckies rose behind Lucifer, swirling around him and making him glow with his hair floating like water. Lucifer's excitement soon vanished when he made eye contact with Alastor, who raised an eyebrow in confusion.
Embarrassingly, Lucifer coughed and stood up, stuffing all the ducks in his coat. "You, um…" he began, composed himself, then put on a serious face. "You need something?"
"Just passing by…" Alastor tilted his head and saw what was in Lucifer's room, rubber ducky, a shocking amount covering the floor and the furniture. Unable to form any more words, and stood silent, staring firmly at the room.
Lucifer waited with little anticipation, then noticed Alastor glancing behind him, so by curiosity, he turned at what it was but stopped and immediately did a double take. Fully presenting his room was the hobby he was obsessed, wide open for Alastor to see. Shaking in sheer embarrassment, flustered, Lucifer dashed to the door and closed it, then eyes narrowed at Alastor threateningly.
That did surprise Alastor, almost humorous, but kept himself from showing. "There's nothing ashamed of being messy, and it's wonderful you make yourself at home. However, a fair warning." There's a slight chuckle that he can't contain himself, and he continued, "One of our staff members tends to barge in uninvited if such a mess. The little one, if you're curious."
"Pink hair and one big eye?" Lucifer guessed with uncertainty.
"Exactly. Now, if you don't mind." Alastor strolled away, near the elevator, and proudly announced, "There's an important guest I must see."
Alastor didn't get a chance to press the button when Lucifer asked, "Who is this important guest?" That caused Alastor's hand to flinch and swear under his breath at the annoying question he wouldn't dare to reply. Acting like he didn't hear and continued clicking for the elevator, then entered when it arrived. Alastor then poked his head out and saluted a goodbye at Lucifer, who watched flabbergasted, before returning inside as the door shut.
Quiet, alone, in this empty hall without any acknowledgment. Lucifer scowled away to his room and stopped when he accidentally spotted his daughter outside with Rosie, someone he didn't know but seemed familiar. Can't put his mind into it. He thought profoundly but soon forgot when seeing Charlie laugh had his full attention because, never before, seen his daughter this way since, like forever. Sadness overwhelms Lucifer, the guilt of not being a dad while sighing and giving Charlie a few glances before stepping into his room with his head downward.
