Arc 1: Wyvern Rebellion - Chapter 11|
It was like time stood still. The moment the Wyvern began to tear open the portal, there was a pressure unlike ever felt before. The magical aura was suffocating. The creature that emerged from the portal was gargantuan. It was a true Wyvern. Its scales were black with a green accents. Its wings were folded on its forearms, but their power could be felt from where the group stood. Its eyes stared with a powerful gaze. The green irises penetrating their very souls. The Wyvern stretched the portal wider until the full size could be felt.
"The way back to Earth-Land has opened once more." It spoke. Its voice was gravely, a hint of predatory, and heavy with a deep draconic tone. The group could only stare.
"You, humans. What year is it?" It asked. The others looked to one another. But it was Ewan that broke their silence.
"It's X794." He explained. The Wyvern's eyes widened.
"X794? Impossible. You humans can't survive that long." It stated. Ewan slowly stepped forward.
"It's true. The year is X794. Can you tell me why you are so surprised? Did something happen?" He asked. The Wyvern looked away.
"Time moves differently in this dimension. I thought you humans had died out by now. We did not expect to be gone as long as we were. We have returned to find the world changed." It explained. Ewan nodded.
"Who's we?" He asked.
"My kind. We had traversed the dimensions until the time to return was near. Tell me, do the dragons thrive?" It asked.
"The dragons are gone. They left Earth-Land over 400 years ago." Ewan answered. The Wyvern's eyes lowered.
"It's true then. They truly wiped one another out." Slowly, a smile crept onto his lips. "Then we no longer anything to fear. This world is ripe for the taking." It declared.
"Not if we have anything to say about it." Fiora declared. The others nodded.
"A foolish act of bravery. I am a Wyvern. A creature of pure power and might. And you're all pathetic weak humans. Your magic is nothing compared to that of mine." The creature hissed. It opened its mouth and bellowed a thick smog of purple. It began to spread all around the room they occupied. Sylph fluttered forward and used her wind magic to redirect it. Her eyes went wide.
"I-it's heavy! We have to run! It's poison!" She cried. The group turned and began to run. Their hearts pounded in their chests. The fear was palpable. Tiffy hopped out of Fiora's arms and raced to the entrance. She pushed and shoved to open it. But the door was stuck.
"I can't open it!" She yelped. Fiora sprinted forward, fire collecting on her fist.
"Blazing Soul: Explosion!" She cast. The skull shaped fireball impacted the door and sent it flying off its hinges. She held her shoulder, the effort making it scream in pain. The group raced out and made their way down the hall. But the Wyvern was right behind them. The heavy footsteps could be heard from a distance. It was tearing the very ruins apart. Nothing was standing in its way. The snow and wind whipped around the exit.
"We have to jump!" Gideon yelled. They were getting close. The could see a darkness at the of the chasm that waited for the at the exit.
"What?! We'll die!" Fiora called back.
"We don't have a choice. We can't fight it in there. Out here we have a better chance." He retorted. Fiora scowled but nodded. They continued to sprint. Before their feet left the ground, a screech echoed out in front of them. They skidded to a halt. The Ice Griffin had returned. The side of its beak was cracked, but it's anger pushed it to ignore the pain. They were trapped between two terrifying beasts.
"I'm sorry everyone!" Zephyr yelled. He collected wind in his hand and let loose a burst of wind behind them, pushing them all out.
"Zephyr you bas-" Fiora yelled as she fell out of the doorway. The Wyvern reached the doorway, only to be blocked by the Griffin. It screeched in anger as the Wyvern hissed. The two magical creatures glared at one another.
"How dare you interrupt my hunt. Do you wish to die?" It threatened. The Ice Griffin only responded in threatening screeches. The Wyvern exploded out of the exit, rubble being launched all over, tackling the creature into the icy walls that surrounded the chasm. The group yelled, trying to move out of the way of the falling debris.
"Fi! Grab my hand!" Gideon yelled. The red head reached out, grasping as tight as she could. Gideon reared his hand back.
"GeoGuard: Frozen Lance!" He cast. The ice was pulled from the walls and covered his arm. It formed into a spear like weapon. He struck the side of the chasm wall and hoping to slow their descent. Luna used the darkness to her advantage. She weaved in her hand in a hurry.
"Shadow Weaving: Shadow Veil!" She pulled a thin sheet of shadows that reach out and wrapped around several more falling members. Lyra caught the sheet as well as Ewan. Viperion held on to Tiffy as she tried to gain her balance. Her wings flitted rapidly, doing everything in her power to stop the rapid fall. Zephyr wasn't as lucky. Sylph held on to him while yelling.
"Zeph, use your magic! What are you doing?!" She screamed. The young air mage tried to cast something, but his exhaustion caught back up. He looked to his spirit and shook his head.
"I can't Sylph. I've used too much magic already. I can't cast a thing." He admitted. She could only glare.
"Well then, I guess you're just going to have to hope that the others can save us." She complained, tears forming in her eyes. She looked up, the others yelling out for them. She pulled herself closer to her chosen.
"Invoke the contract, Zeph!" She commanded. But the he shook his head.
"You're already tired, I can't make you do that." He explained. She frowned.
"Zephyr, that's not your call. Now, invoke the contract. That's an order." She continued. Zephyr's eyes widened. He looked at her and slowly nodded. His lips turned downward.
He looked down. He knew doing so would cause her to deplete her own magic. "Sylph, I can't." He whispered. The wind spirit's eyes filled with tears.
"Then we will both die here. You have no choice. You've wasted too much of my magic." She cried. She couldn't hide the hurt in her voice. Zephyr sighed. He lifted his hand and took a deep breath.
"Zephyr!" Viperion called out. She flew downward with all her might. She wrapped her arms the young boy and spirit and whipped around. She grabbed him tightly and flew back up.
"Vi?" Zeph was surprised.
"Vi-chan!" Sylph cried. The Fenrir ant smiled.
"It's ok. I've got you now." She assured. The wind spirit hugged the ant's neck. She wiped her tears away.
"Thank you." She expressed.
However, on their way up, they spotted the Wyvern fighting the Ice griffin in the air above them. The hole out of the chasm was much higher.
"What do we do?! To get out we have to pass that craziness!" Gideon pointed out. The Ice Griffin shot out a beam of ice at the draconic monster. It took the brunt of the blast and shook it off. The Wyvern swiped the Griffin and crashed it into the ice wall, keeping its claws on his opponent. The Griffin screeched, shooting beams of ice everywhere.
"Struggle as you might, you chose to exercise your dominance. Now, here are the consequences." The Wyvern declared. It opened its mouth, a swirling beam of green energy charging. The Griffin fought back with its claws. The others watched in horror as the Wyvern opened its maw, releasing a massive beam of green energy, causing an explosion where it held the mountain creature. The Griffin was defeated. The Wyvern screeched, triumphant in his victory. The Griffin fell down the chasm, crashing into the frozen ground. The group remained silent.
"Damn. This thing's strong." Fiora stated. Her shoulder was screaming in pain from the attack from the Griffin. And yet, this Wyvern took it out like nothing. Luna looked down.
"Shadow Weaving: Shadow Tendrils!" She casted. A tendril of darkness shot out from the darkness and caught the Griffin. "It did not deserve that, no matter what happened before. We need to give it medical attention." She added.
"Now, which one of you shall be my next victim?" The Wyvern roared. It looked down to the humans hanging off the sides of the ice chasm.
"Shit... is this it?" Fiora cursed. She looked at Gideon and then down to the bottom of the chasm. Fight the Wyvern and die trying, or fall to their deaths? Their choices were limited. But Fiora's eyes glowed with fire.
"Like hell it is! If we're going out, we're doing it in a blaze of glory. That's how Emerald Oasis does it!" She exclaimed. She leapt up and flew towards the Wyvern, her fist ablaze.
"Blazing Soul: Jet Explosion!" She cast. Fire erupted from her one hand and shot herself upward toward the Wyvern. "If you think we're going down without a fight, you're dead wrong! Blazing Soul: Meteor Riff!" She held opened her hand if front of her, being held by her hurt hand. She focused all her magic in her palm causing a ball of orange fire to rapidly grown. She yelled with all her might, releasing the fire in a cascade of mini fireballs. The Wyvern's hide was too thick, though, and the attack had no effect.
"You will burn at my hands, human." The Wyvern laughed. It breathed out a torrent of flames. She smiled.
"That's my line!" She retorted. From behind her came Viperion with Gideon in tow. He held an ice shield that blocked the fire. Zephyr was flying upward as well, having invoked his contract with sylph. Luna, Lyra, Tiffy, and Ewan were in tow. Lyra was exhausted, having transferred her magic to Zephyr. Zephyr flew upward.
"This is where you will perish, monster! Sylph! I invoke our contract!" He cast. Wind picked up, swirling around him. The air became thin. Zephyr focused the magic on a finger and aimed it at the Wyvern.
"Galestride: Gale Sword!" He cast. The wind condensed in his finger and formed a blade. Zephyr swung the blade of air at the Wyvern, managing to make him lose his balance. Viperion held Gideon as they flew toward its head, crashing the ice shield into the Wyvern's head. The recoil gave enough time for everyone to fly past and out of the chasm.
"Haha! Hell yeah! Take that you bastard!" Fiora yelled as she landed with the others in Zephyr's wind bubble. But she spoke too soon. The Wyvern sped out of the hole, spreading its wings to full length. She immediately close her mouth, finally feeling dread. "Can we go faster?!" She yelled up to Zephyr. He tried but the wyvern was catching up.
"Lyra's magic was enough to let us escape, but anything more than that and we'd end up crashing." He told Fiora. She grumbled but then pointed her finger at the Wyvern.
"I'll buy us some time! Blazing Soul: Revolver!" She made a gun shape with her hand and began shooting fireballs. They were the size of her fist, but the fire dissipated when it hit the Wyvern. "Damn it!" She cursed.
"How close are we to Margaret Town?" Ewan asked. He was silent for most of the ride, not wanting to be a burden. "Not far. But the Wyvern is gaining on us fast. It's likely trying to block us from escaping to Margaret Town. That's where we can call for backup." Zephyr said. Tiffy held on to Ewan.
"If you couldn't stop him before, you're no match for him. We have to escape!" She explained. Zephyr groaned. "Why do I feel like this isn't going to be easy?" He asked.
The Wyvern pumped its wings, closing the distance to the group. It opened its mouth, the green energy accumulating once more. However, something happened that it would never expect. In the distance, an object was racing toward it. It ignored the object getting ready to fire. However, the object zoomed past the group. It was a bolt. The arrow-like weapon was long and the edge sharp. The group's eyes widened in response. Not because of the bolt itself, but who was riding on it. It was Yulia Fox. She was dressed in her usual attire, the blue and green colors of her outfit standing out from the white snow and gray sky. As she passed by, time seemed to slow. She gave them a wink with a smile and a victory sign on her fingers. The bolt raced right at the Wyvern's head. The energy shot out, a mixture of poison and fire. She waved her hands, the bolt kept straight while she suddenly warped into nothingness. The fire disintegrated the bolt into ash. The poison fire continued forward until Yulia appeared again on the Wyvern's head. She performed a sensual dance on its head, wave her arms alluringly. The fire suddenly bent upwards, creating a V shape.
"Well well, this magic of yours is quite powerful. But I love it when a man goes all out." She commented to the Wyvern with a wink. She then brought her hands together. "But let's see you handle my precious Spatial Bending, my darling." She expressed. She snapped her fingers, causing the fire to bend around and explode. The resulting smog covered its eyes, blinding it. It roared, losing its sense of direction. Yulia warped away, her body contorting with the bend of space. Another bolt came racing in from the distance. Striking the Wyvern in the chest, causing it to fall toward the snow. Yulia reappeared in the wind bubble with the others.
"I should have known it would be Basil's guild who would stir up trouble." She commented with a wink. Fiora, Lyra, Luna, and Ewan all moved away in surprise, not expecting her to appear at all. Tiffy, however, ran to her.
"You're so strong, nee-chan!" Tiffy exclaimed, hugging the older woman's leg.
"Hehe, it's just my specialty." Yulia said with a wink, stroking Tiffy's head. The others looked on in shock.
"How the hell did you get in here?!" Fiora shouted, pointing at the woman.
"Language, little girl." Yulia remarked with a smirk. Fiora's face became red with anger, her fingers sparking.
"Fi, for now let's just get back. She saved us from that Wyvern." Lyra commented, placing a hand on Fiora's shoulder.
"I will agree. It is best to leave. It is unlikely that it will allow us to get away a second time." Luna stated. Yulia simply nodded.
"These little cuties have good heads on their shoulders." Yulia said.
The group was led toward the guild hall of Oath Talisman. Yulia opened the doors to reveal a bustling guild. The sound of voices, laughter, and dishes filled the air. The group looked around in awe.
"Welcome to Oath Talisman." Yulia stated with a grin.
"This is really something else." Lyra commented.
Many people sang and ate. It was as if a celebration was taking place.
"All these people are a part of your guild?" Gideon asked.
"Oh heavens no. Our guild is open to Margaret Town as a tavern. People come to eat, drink, and warm their chilled spirits. We help them." Yulia answered.
"Well that's cool." Fiora stated. The guild hall was a grand, castle-like structure with spires reaching towards the sky, located at the heart of Margaret Town. Its walls were adorned with ancient runes and talismans, each telling a story of the guild's past achievements and adventures. The interior was a mix of traditional and modern designs, with a vast library containing rare magical tomes and artifacts. The tavern portion was warm and cozy, being a place the people came to pass time. Yulia led the group to another part of the guild. The guild master led them through a set of double doors revealing a meeting room. A table was placed directly in the center with people already filling the seats. One of them Fiora recognized immediately. Seraphina. Yulia swayed as she walked to the chair at the end. She took a seat and crossed her legs, her breast resting on her crossed arms.
"Now, I'm not one to meddle in other guild's business, but that looked to be a dragon you all were bringing toward Margaret Town." Yulia commented. Fiora crossed her arms, the two groups staring each other down.
"Well, technically it wasn't a dragon." Zephyr said. He laughed nervously, taking a step back. Yulia leaned forward, her expression becoming serious.
"And what do you mean by that?" She questioned. Finally, Tiffy, the Lupicyn, hopped onto the meeting table. Her human form catching everyone's attention. Her fluffy ears and tail being the main features that she retained from her puppy form.
"It was a Wyvern." She explained.
"A Wyvern you say?" Yulia questioned, raising an eyebrow. Tiffy nodded her head.
"Yep. Big, angry, and looking for a fight." She answered. The other people at the table gave the puppy their attention. Valkyrie Candy, a young woman with pink hair in pigtails, sighed.
"Is that what we were shooting down, master?" She asked, tilting her head.
"Perhaps. It would explain why it's magic was so powerful." Kain Azul stated. His hair was black and covered one of his blue eyes. He was leaned back in his chair. "Glen and I poured everything we had in those two bolts, and it didn't kill it out right." He added. Glen Skrifkona, a man with ash brown hair tied in a ponytail with hazel eyes nodded in agreement.
"I enchanted each bolt with numerous runes. If it did hit, it should have killed the target instantly." Glen explained.
"Then that's what it was, a Wyvern." Anya Briarwood concluded. She crossed her arms. "But, what if that was a Wyvern, why was it so strong? Aren't usually weaker?" She asked with bright eyes and a finger on her cheek. She tilted her head, her brown braided hair falling over her shoulder.
"I believe this young lady will explain everything." Yulia expressed. She nodded toward Tiffy. The Lupicyn crossed its arms and nodded rapidly.
"Yes, a Wyvern. They existed 400 years ago with the dragons and humans." She confirmed. Ewan grew with excitement. They were right, Alister and him. They deduced correctly. But, then came the real question.
"If that's the case, what happened to them? There were no trace of them after the Dragon King Festival." Ewan questioned. He couldn't help but have the question escape his lips. The Wyverns were the counterparts of the dragons. They were the same, but different. What happened to them? Where did they go? Tiffy nodded rapidly once more.
"That's right. That's because they escaped Earth-Land." She escaped. The answer flew over everyone's head. Ewan almost fell over.
"E-escape? What does that mean?" He followed up. Tiffy skipped toward a light pen and grabbed it. She lifted it and began writing in the air.
"Imagine this circle is Earth-Land. And this other circle is another universe completely." She drew two circles then a huge line between them. "This is the barrier that prevents anyone crossing from one to the other. However," She paused, drawing a line that connected the two circles and passed through the line. "There are instances where people with specific magic can pass through the barrier and go to other universes." She stopped drawing looked to everyone. Fiora's head was smoking.
"Whoa, what?! What are you talking about?! What do you mean a barrier?!" She exclaimed. Yulia tapped her finger on the table.
"She's saying that the Wyverns went to another universe 400 years ago during the Dragon King Festival. Sounds crazy, but I've heard a thing or two from other guild masters, specifically master Makarov, about other universes existing." She added. Fiora shook her head.
"Okay, what's going on here?! Master, are you telling me there are other universes?!" She shouted. Gideon held Fiora back.
"Ok Fi. I get it, it's complicated. No need to get angry. Let's just listen." He stated to her.
"So, you're saying that there are other universes, and Wyverns went to one of them?" Lyra asked. Tiffy nodded in affirmation. Ewan had his arms crossed. He was deep in thought. He then pulled out the book that belonged to the person who inherited Wyvern Slaying Magic.
"This stated that the Wyverns passed down magic before they left. Was that the case for all of them? Did they leave Earth-Land willingly? Or did they just have to escape because of a certain threat?" He asked. Tiffy nodded rapidly once more.
"You're right. Some left Earth-Land willingly, while others thought they could reason with the dragons. But altogether, they agreed that the best way to preserve their race was to leave entirely. Some stayed..." She explained trailing off. Luna stepped forward.
"Thank you for filling in the details, but my question is, how do you know all this?" She asked. Tiffy jumped into the air and landed in front of Luna. She smiled.
"Simple! I accidently got stuck in the Lacrima!" She explained with a cute smile. Everyone's jaws dropped.
"What?! You were in there this whole time?!" Ewan exclaimed. Tiffy nodded rapidly once more. Fiora had to take a seat.
"What the hell is going on here?! Someone explain this to me right now!" She screamed. Gideon pat her head.
"I don't know either, but we'll find out." He assured her. Valkyrie Candy stood up and walked over to Tiffy.
"I understand. I get stuck in places too." She stated with a smile. Tiffy was touched. She sniffed and rubbed her eyes. Viperion was thinking the whole time. She then had an idea.
"Tiffy-chan, that Lacrima you were in gave Ewan-san something. What did it do to him?" Her mind went back to the ruins.
"Hm, good question! It was none other than Wyvern Slaying Magic!" Tiffy answered with a big grin.
"W-what?! I can use magic now?!" Ewan exclaimed. He looked at his hands. He did feel different, but he didn't understand why.
"You said you accidently got stuck in the Lacrima. Is that possible?" Zephyr inquired. Tiffy nodded rapidly.
"I don't know." Was her answer. Everyone in the group fell over.
"What the hell does that mean?!" Fiora exclaimed.
"Don't yell at her like that." Viperion scolded. Fiora stiffened.
"S-sorry." She expressed. Tiffy smiled widely.
"That's easy! I was walking home when this pretty shimmery circled appeared. A Wyvern came through it. I walked over to the portal and looked at it. It was so pretty! But then the Wyvern flapped its wings, and it blew me into the portal. When I came through, I fell into the Lacrima. But I wasn't alone. I was in there with that Wyvern magic. It told me everything about what happened. I listened and learned a lot. Then, 400 years later, here I am! Oh, then the portal closed" Tiffy explained. Fiora, Lyra, and Viperion's mouths dropped. Ewan chuckled.
"How in the world did you understand all that? It sounds like an ancient language to me." He stated. Tiffy shrugged.
"I just understood it. It didn't sound like an ancient language to me though." She stated. Fiora pointed at her.
"How can something so cute be so... so smart?" She felt betrayed. Lyra smirked.
"Are you jealous?" She asked. Fiora shook her head.
"She's a magical being. So it's normal for her to be smarter than humans." Sylph replied. Fiora jumped at her voice. She had forgotten that Sylph was even there.
"That's right! We're all super smart!" Tiffy chimed in. Fiora sighed. Ewan finally understood all that happened. Wyverns used their magic to cross dimensions to escape the Dragon King Festival. They left their magic to a human, which means the book was true. But there was one important questions left.
"That Wyvern. It said it wanted to take over Earth-Land now that the dragons are gone. Who was that?" He asked. Tiffy froze.
"W-Wyrnxoth Sky. He's a powerful and evil Wyvern. He wants to bring the Wyverns back and kill the humans. I don't know too much about him, but I can explain one thing. There was a group called the Sky Dominion that reigned as the majestic rulers of the Wyverns. They lived on sky islands all over Earth-Land. When the Dragon King Festival occurred, some did try and fight back, but they were inevitably killed. Wyrnxoth Sky was the heir to that rule. He witnessed the fall of the Sky Dominion and the slaughtering of his people. Ever since then, he's wanted to get revenge on the dragons. But after the dragons vanished, he decided to turn his attention to the humans." She explained. Everyone in the room allowed the words to sink in. Wyverns were real. But, now they came with a vengeance.
"How do we stop him?" Ewan asked. Tiffy looked him in the eyes.
"There's only one way. You must master your new Wyvern Slaying Magic." She said. The entire room froze.
"M-Me?" Ewan questioned. Tiffy nodded.
"You're the one who absorbed the magic. Quite frankly, I'm amazed it hasn't turned you into a feral Wyvern. It usually does that. However, it seems your body is more resistant to its effects. But, it also means you're the only one who can save the world." She said. Ewan looked around. Everyone was looking at him.
"Will we have the time?" He asked. Tiffy shook her head for the first time.
"I don't know. But what I can say is that Wyrnxoth won't be alone. He'll have other wyverns with him. They will be strong, but I don't know how strong. That's all I can say right now." She said. Ewan began to think.
"This magic is in my body, I can use it to fight Wyrnxoth." He said to himself.
"But thankfully it's Wyrnxoth that he has to fight. That's because of the nature of Wyvern Slaying Magic. It was his father who gifted the magic to the human they chose. When I was in the lacrima, I felt it. He is the rightful successor." She explained. Everyone looked at her.
"Ewan is the descendant of the Wyvern Slayer?!" Nearly everyone questioned. Tiffy rapidly nodded her head.
"Yep. But it's the only thing I can say for sure. I don't know anything else." She answered.
"Well, Ewan-san. You have some studying to do." Lyra said. Yulia finally stood up.
"Well, that was enlightening. All this just to say that we have a fight on our hands. I'll send a correspondence to Basil. I'd suggest you Emerald Oasis people return home. My guild and I will watch over things from here. Hopefully you can get Mr. Wyvern Slayer up to speed on how to use his magic before Wyrnxoth deicides to attack." She said.
"Right." Tiffy said. "But don't worry, you won't be alone, Mr. Ewan. I'll be right beside you the whole way!"
"Thanks, Tiffy." Ewan said. Tiffy smiles proudly putting her hands on her hips.
A man with dark hair and greens walked into the Wyvern ruins. He traversed the halls without trouble, finding his way back to where the Lacrima sat. He touched it, remembering the importance that it once held. His face scrunched up in anger and he punches it, shattering it to piece. He looked to the place where the portal had opened up before. His eyes glowed a menacing green as he thrusted his hands into the air, tearing open the portal. He held it open as seven people walked out. The portal would close once more.
"Earth-Land. The stench of human is all over it." A man with red hair and green eyes commented. His voice was deep and commanding. He looked to the dark haired man. "Is this what we come back to? To these pathetic, puny humans. I have never been more disappointed in my life. I, Garnet, promise to ensure these creatures know their place." He spat. The dark haired man rolled his eyes.
"I wouldn't be so quick to judge them, Garnet." He said. "Look around you. This isn't the same Earth-Land you once knew. The Ethernano is pure in the air." He said. Garnet looked to the man and bowed immediately.
"I apologize, Lord Wrynxoth. I only meant that it's despicable that this land has been reduced to nothing more than human filth." He said. Wrynxoth chuckled.
"It's fine, Garnet. I, too, feel disgusted by the presence of humans." He said. "But we need to be careful. In our current states, we would be easily defeated if we are not cautious." He said.
"Of course. That goes without saying." Garnet replied. Another one of the Wyverns spoke up.
"How do we proceed, Lord Wyrnxoth? At most we could bide our time, or we can play a more active role. We won't be able to maintain our Wyvern forms for long, but that'll be remedied once we adjust to the Ethernano levels." Thorn said.
"It would be best for us to maintain a low profile for now." Falconer said. "We can observe and learn as much as we can before taking action. The last thing we want is to go in without information. We might just get ourselves killed if we act too rashly." He suggested. Echo nodded.
"Agreed. Our best course of action is to simply observe until we're ready." He said. Lord Wyrnxoth paced around, lost in thought.
"How long has it been since we've felt Ethernano of this quantity?" He asked the group.
"I'm not too sure, my lord. However, it hasn't been too long since the humans in Edolas removed magic and sent it here. To have been able to return is a miracle." Iris said.
"It's not a miracle, it's destiny." Garnet said. "After all, it was a Dragon King Festival that was the catalyst to the destruction of the Sky Dominion. And now it was the power of your father that has allowed us to return." He said.
"Ah yes. Father. His ability to bestow our magic unto a human was a foolish decision. If it weren't for his actions, we wouldn't be in this predicament. The dragons may have started the war, but my father's actions were the final blow that tore apart the Sky Dominion." He said.
"Yes. And that is why you are the rightful heir. You, Lord Wyrnxoth, are the one to lead the Wyverns into a new era. But we will need to bide our time. We can't do anything while we're still in this form." Falconer said. The Wyverns looked to their leader.
"Yes. For now, explore Earth-Land. Understand the culture and learn from it. I believe it will be three months before we're able to regain our true forms. Until then, stay in your human form." He ordered. The Wyverns bowed and left. "I'll stay here. The moment I saw that human, I knew that he was the one who absorbed the Wyvern Slaying Magic. I will obliterate the one thing that stands between me and this world. I won't let a mere human get in the way of what's mine." He promised.
