(Five days later)

Dimitri was relaxing in the chair next to Riley's bedside to read Anna's third book from the set. The book speaks about Anna twin daughters, whose names were Hope and Faith, which Vladimir named after Anna gave birth to them. Dimitri always wishes that he could have children, name them, and watch them grow as St. Vladimir did.

Dimitri would have stopped each paragraph and started writing down each word, making sure each word was translated from the book to the notebook and understanding why it took Riley so long to translate the other two books. Once in a while, he peeked up to make sure nothing had changed in the Riley hospital room or to see if Riley had awake up from her coma. He saw that she had been lying in bed in a coma for five days.

When there was a knock on the door, Dimitri raised his head to watch Dr. Savannah step into Riley's hospital room. Dr. Savannah asked, "How is our patient today?" Dimitri said, "The same. Riley looks like she's sleeping and we just waiting for her to wake up." Dr. Savannah said, "Sometime we have to wait for the body to recover from all the terror that has happened to her." Just give it time and soon she will awake when she ready.

The young doctor stepped to the other side of the bed, reached down, picked up Riley chart, and opening the Riley chart, checking the heart monitor, and writing down a few notes. Dr. Svanneh leans over Riley, opening her eyelids to see her pupil and shining a light into her to watch the dilation.

Seconds later, Dr. Savannah's wrist was grabbed by Riley's left hand, making Dr. Savannah freeze and gasp. Dimitri stood up, reached into his duster, and pulled out a silver stake just in case Riley had been changed into a strigoi. Riley shifted her eyes to the young doctor's face. Dr. Savannah peered into Riley's eyes to discover they were gorgeous blue looking at her. The young doctor didn't see any red rings in the pupils, and she realized she wasn't strigoi.

Dimitri stood over Riley with his silver stake over her heart, just in case Riley had turned strigoi. Riley shifted her eyes to Dimitri, seeing his silver stake above her heart. Dimitri peered into her eyes and discovered Riley's eyes were still bright blue, and there was no red ring around her pupils. which made Dimitri relax and lower the silver stake. Dimitri noticed that Riley had knotted her head, and like she understood why he pulled his silver stake over her heart.

Dr. Savannah and Dimitri said, "Welcome back!"

Riley tried to sit up, making Riley close her eyes and show pain on her face. Dr. Savannah said, "Please don't move; your injuries are not full heel yet; it could take some time to get full heel." But Riley kept moving through the pain. Dr. Savannah realized that the young woman was a guardian. Then she knew that the guardian would fight through the pain and keep moving, even if they were in pain. That was why they trained for and protected Moroi from Strigoi.

So the young doctor reached over to help Riley sit up in her hospital bed. Dr. Savannah said, "Here, let me help you sit up, and would you like some water?" Riley opened her mouth to say something, and a small sweek came out. Dimitri had turned to the nightstand, picking up the water pitcher and pouring it into the cup so that Riley could recover her voice again. Dimitri handed Riley her cup and said, "I need to call Guardian Hathaway and inform her that you have woken up."

Riley reached up with her hand, taking a cup and drinking the water. Drop the empty cup in her lap and grab Dimitri's cellphone out of his hand, which made Dimitri turn to Riley and say, "Something wrong?" Riley said, "Yeva Belikov." Dimitri looked surprised to hear his grandmother's name being called from Riley's lips. He knew something was up, and she needed to speak to him before her mother and father arrived with friends.

There was a knock on Riley's hospital room, Adrian, Christian, Eddie, and Mikhail came inside Riley's hospital room. They discover that Riley was awake and sitting up in her hospital bed. After five exhausting days in a coma, Adrian, Christian, Eddie, and Mikhail smiled at Riley's eventual awakening. Riley moaned in pain as Christian and Adrian hurried over to give her a hug. The fact that Riley had come out of a coma made they very glad.

Doctor Savannah asked, "How are you feeling?" Riley was just peering at the young doctor and said, "Sore!" Doctor Savannah asked, "Who did this to you?" Riley said, "Strigoi!" Subsequently, Riley was the victim of the Strigoi attack and comprehended the reason behind her five-day unconsciousness. Dr. Savannah felt Riley's forehead to be sure her fever had returned, but it hadn't. She reached up, took her stethoscope from around her neck, put it in her ears, and used the other end to listen to Riley's heartbeat.

Riley was examined by the young physician after Christian and Adrian had released go of Riley. "Guardian Belikov, I came to take your place to guard Riley under Granny orders." Mikhail uttered. Riley's recovery from a coma will make Granny happy." "I also need to warn you that the house is a war zone." Dimitri said, "Not again." Riley asked, "What do you mean that my house is a war zone?"

Mikhail turned to face Dimitri and saw that he was nodding, indicating that he would inform her. Mikhail stated, "Vasilissa, Adrian, Christian, Abe, and Granny have been getting into a lot of disagreements about everything."

Riley said, "Does it have anything to do with Granny's Game show's hours?" Christian said, "Yes and no!" Riley rolled her eyes, knowing that she had to go home and enforce her will on everyone to stop arguing. Riley remarked, "I would like to go home now," As she turning to face Doctor Savannah. "I will return in a few days for more tests." "But how long will it take you to finish the papers for discharge from the hospital?" "About ten minutes," stated Dr. Savannah. Riley exclaimed, "Good, you might want to get started."

Mikhail and Dimitri exchanged glances as they attempted to decipher Riley's mind. The door to Riley's hospital room closed behind Doctor Savannah. Adrian asked, "What in hell are you thinking?" Riley responded, "I don't know if you didn't realize that having too many Moroi in one place is never a good sign." Dimitri asked, "What do you mean?" Christian said "Walking buffet to strigoi," Riley stated, "Bingo! Two Moroi are easier to move; then a group of Moroi."

Adrian said, "Hold your horses for a minute and explain what you mean." Riley said, "Sorry Romeo, you have to be sent back to Royle Court to help figure out why they want Granny dead and why they sent me to prison." Eddie said, "Riley, want to know who is pulling the strings?" Riley said, "Yes, Bear, We all know Vasilissa and Rosa love stinking their noses where they don't belong." Eddie and Christian nod their head and would agree with that statement.

Adrian said, "That's fine; we will send Vasilissa and Rose back to court." "But I am staying here with you and Mason." Eddie, Christian and Adrian could see the surprise expression on Riley's face, and as she said, "Mason!"

Eddie said, "When Adrian and I discovered the old run-down motel, Mason was sitting next to your unconsciousness body, and your fever had returned." Mikhail asked, "Do you remember what happened to you while you were with the strigoi?" Riley showed disappointment and said, "Yes!"

Mikhail had walked over the chair that was across the room, picked up Riley's clothes off the chair, and walked back to Riley, giving them to her.

"Riley said, "Thank you! Mikhail."

Mikhail said, "You are welcome!"

There was another knock on the door, open, showing a female nurse, and she said, "I'm here to help get Miss Mazor dressed." "If the men could please leave the room so that Miss Mazor could dress, that would be helpful." Adrian didn't want to leave the room and would love to see Riley in full nude. Eddie walked over, taking Adrian by the arm and leading him to the door, while Dimitri and Mikhail followed behind them. Christian smirk and walked out door thinking about Riley nude body.

Mikhail said, "Yell, if you need help, we are outside the room.

"Riley said, "Thank you! Mikhail."

Dimitri's cellphone started ringing, and Riley said, "Yeva call." "You might want to answer it. Dinka!"

When Dimitri realized that Riley knew his Russian nickname without being told by him, unless Yeva told her a spirit dream or vision, he stopped walking, turned his head, and peered over his shoulder at Riley in disbelief that Riley knew. Until Mikhail started pushing Dimitri out of Riley's hospital room and letting the door close behind them.

(Riley Home)

Mikhail, Eddie, Dimitrii, and Riley looked up and down the street to make sure there were no strigoi when a black SUV they were riding in pulled up in front of Riley's house. Eddie said, "It's almost dusk, and Strigoi will soon be out hunting for Riley or food." The sooner we get both of you inside, the better, Dimitri added. Mikhail nodded his head.

Riley saw her neighbor, Miss Ozera, standing on her porch and drinking her coffee.

Riley said, "Miss Ozera is outside again." Dimitri turned around in his seat, peering at Riley. Everyone else noticed the older Moroi woman standing on the front porch, which caught everyone's attention. "Where is her guardian?" Adrian inquired. Riley stated, "Not every Moroi has a guardian."

Christian said, "She is my grandfather's sister." Riley said, "Did she married a human?" Christian said, "Yeah!"

Adrian conveyed conversation by rolling his nose. "Stop that!" Riley exclaimed. "Recall that there wouldn't be any dhampiers in the world if Moroi hadn't interacted with humans." "A millennium ago, we would have seen the extinction of the Moroi race." "We were born because we were meant to combat the strigoi." "But you, Moroi, seem to forget that fact."

Christian smirked at Riley's snappy comeback. Adrian loves hearing Riley think about the matter, or any matter. Dimitri, Mikhail, and Eddie looked at Riley and could understand where she was coming thought to himself, There is so much more he needs to teach her. Dimitri found it impressive that Riley was wise, while Rose, on the other hand, was stubbed. They were so alike and so different at times, and he would find it impressive.

Mikhail noticed the way that Adrian and Christian kept looking at Riley on the car ride home. Mikhail didn't like the way Adrian was acting around Riley. He knew Christian lived with Riley, and they were close friends. which he didn't know how close they were. He plans to find out. But Adrian, on the other hand, was a player. He heard stories about Adrian and planned to keep Riley away from him.

Riley opened the passage door, she slowly stepped out while still looking up and down the street as Dimitri and Mikhail got out of the SUV. Eddie noticed Miss. Ozera turn her head to peer at the SUV and, putting her hand up, started waving. Christian said, "That didn't take long for Miss Ozera to notice Riley." Eddie asked, "She's going to be a problem." Christian said, "No! She loves Riley to death." "She doesn't like my Aunt Tasha's with stinking her nose everyone business." "She lets everyone just be themselves.

Dimitri notices an older woman calling Riley out. Riley said, "Hello! Miss Ozera, "How are you doing today?" The older woman said, "Great! "Where have you been for the past month?" "Their are strange people living your house?" Riley said, "So I have heard." "I'm guess that I going have to clean house." "Call you later." Miss Ozera said, "I would love that dear." Well, need to get inside before the strigoi come out. Talk to later sweetheart.

Mikhail, Dimitri and Riley watched Miss Ozera enter her house. Riley said, "Sweet woman, odd at times." Must be the Ozera blood line or something." Christian said, "I heard that." Adrian busted out laughing. Dimitri smiled.

Riley made their way up the stairs with friends to the front door. She reached into her pocket and took out the house keys. As she placed the key into the lock, she turned right, then left, leaning across, pulling the sign down to the number of the house, and placing her fingertips on the scanner. In order for the fingerprint reader to read her fingerprints, When the door opens automatically, they can hear screaming from inside.

Riley moved forward, while a group of friends followed behind her until they arrived in the living room to discover that Vasilissa, Tatiana, Rose, Abe, and Janine were having a heated yelling match over something.

Mikhail placed two fingers in his mouth and whistled, making everyone stop yelling at each other and turn their heads to notice Riley was standing in the doorway with a pissed-off look on her face.

Before anyone could say anything, Riley said, "There are too many generals and no privates in this goddamn house." "When there is only one general and everyone else is a private," "I did not want to come home to discover my house in the middle of a war zone." "What in the hell is wrong with you people?" "Bullshit ends here." "If you don't like it, you could leave." "It's your fucking choice." Give me fucking break."

"I'm sorry!" exclaimed Vasilissa. "This isn't the homecoming that you should have gotten." "Please forgive us." Rose could see why her twin sister felt that everyone was to blame for her finding a home in a conflict zone.

Adrian was standing behind Riley and could see her aura light up with sickness and darkness at the ends. The same darkness that Rose had around her. The ends looked like little strands reaching and moving across the living room head to Mason. Adrian realized Riley wasn't what she appeared to be.

Before Janine and Tatiana could yell at Riley for her outburst or her language, Riley had spun around, leaving everyone where they were standing in disbelieve. Disappearing from sight in a matter of seconds. Mason stood up from his chair, and walked passed everyone to following Riley. Adrian stands, realizing the truth before him. He wanted to make sure that his theory was right before he expressed anything to anyone.

Christian responded, "You know Riley is right; we have been acting foolishly over little things at each other's throats." "When we should have realized that Riley had gone to threw hell and back twice." The strigoi have bite her and beaten her every day for month." "So give her fucking break." "Stop, fucking wake up from living dream world that we been living in and stop acting dumb."

Abe said, "Right Christian, we have all been acting foolishly over dumb over stupid shit."

(Music Room)

Dinner was being prepared for everyone in the kitchen by Mikhail and Christian. Sitting side by side, Janine and Abe are discussing Riley and her outburst. Abe could see he daughter's possible point of view on walking inside home to discover a war zone with Moroi and dhampiers. Janine thought Riley needed to watch her mouth around Queen and their family.

Riley translated Anna's first two books as Vasilissa and Rose read and discussed the first book. Both them understood why Riley prevented the strigoi from obtaining these texts and recognized Riley's reasons for feeling the way she did. When everyone else stopped and peer around to watch Queen had get up from seat. Abe heard Riley's beautiful voice, she started singing a song while playing the piano at the same time. Everyone started getting up from where they were sitting and moving behind the queen as she opened the door to the music room. They could hear Riley's beautiful voice fill the house.

Riley's lovely singing voice caught Vasilissa, Rose, Adrian, Mikhail, Dimitri, Rose, Eddie, and Janine off guard. Christian and Abe recollected finding Riley in the cell, singing to herself, even though they were already aware of Riley's musical voice. It still surprise them how beauty voice was as it was hidden guardian mask.

Tatiana approached her chair and took a seat, enjoying her nightingale playing and singing Hallelujah. Mason sat nearby and observed Riley as she performed and sang, displaying her heart for all to see.

Riley played started to play text song, "Can't Help Falling in Love with You" by Elvis Presley as the next song. Tatiana recalls that Riley's use of music as a calming agent was a component of her therapy with her counselor. Perhaps Riley should schedule a follow-up session with the counselor. She believed that she would have instructed Christian to schedule another meeting with Counselor Mary Ann.

Riley moved on from the next song, Christiana Perri: Jar of Hearts. Vasilissa came to realize that Riley was suffering and asked for help. However, they were too blind to notice it, as they were squabbling over little matters to perceive the reality that was before them. But Vasilssa was on the right path and still hadn't realized that more was to come in the days ahead.

Janine learns something new about one of her daughters by watching her play and sing along to every song. Rose quickly discovered that her twin sister's emotions were reflected in every song being sung and performed. Being aware that her sister's needs should take precedence over Vasilissa's.

Riley moved on to next song and started playing Titanium by David Guetta ft. Sia. Mason, Dimitri, Eddie, Mikhail, and Dimitri understood that Riley used that song to express how she faced danger head-on. By the way, as guardians, we would stand tall like Titanium and never fall as the world threw everything at them. They knew exactly where Riley's thoughts were at that very time.

Riley moved on to the last song she was going to sing, called My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion. Everyone notices that Riley's voice has a high notes as well as a low notes in the song and brings them together in harmony.

Riley's passion of singing and playing the piano for hours on end was a source of great affection for Adrian, Tatiana, and Christian. It was also one of the reasons Riley avoided them all. Riley looked up as the song was about to end and saw that everyone was either sitting or standing around the piano as she was playing.

Riley responded, "Did you all enjoy listening to me play and sing?" Tatiana responded, "I always enjoy your singing and playing the piano." "My little nightingale." "Everyone can now see you now and the suffering you're carrying around with you. Everyone realized Riley had just show them the truth threw music.

It surprised Vasilssa, Rose, Mason, Eddie, Mikhail, Dimitri, and Janie a great deal that Riley kept it a secret from them all. Riley's lovely voice didn't surprise Christian or Alb because they remembered finding her singing to herself in prison. However, nobody realized Riley managed to survive her time with the strigoi. Riley simply shut down and returned to her prison.

Adrian stood up from his chair and moved across the room over to Riley. As he reached down, he pulled Riley off the bench into his arm and lean down started kissing in-front everyone. which made everyone's mouths drop open in surprise that Adrian acted without thinking. Tatiana smiled to see that her nephew was showing his true feelings for Riley in which kept hind from everyone, meanwhile Riley looked like a deer in headlights.

Abe jumped out of his seat and yelled, "Adrian."

Adrian pulled away from Riley to glance at Abe and Janine's pissed-off faces. Adrian dashed for the door. Abe and Janine dashed threw the door behind him to chase him around the house.

Riley just stood there, started blushing, and looked surprised. Christian moved forward, grabbed Riley's hand, and led her out of the music room. Tataian smiled and was happy that her nephew knew the truth. Mikhail and Dimitri laughing while Vasilissa smiled and Rose looked surprise that Adrian act like in-front of everyone.
