Whatever meager track to his train of thought Cobra put down gave up and derailed. "Wha-" he began.
"At first I wasn't sure if it was really you that I saw out of the corner of my eye. But then all I had to do was behind," the stranger gestured with a twirl of his hand, "and I knew it could only be you! So I thought I would introduce myself. But not with so many eyes. I know you have a lot of things to keep secret still."
The more words that came out of the man's mouth the more Cobra seriously considered if he had never actually woken up this morning, and that everything that had occurred was a lucid nightmare of Macbeth's creation. His words were said in a tone that implied familiarity, even understanding. Yet Cobra had never seen this man before today…he assumed. Plus, some of what he said simply made no sense at all. How did he even see Cobra if he'd done his best to stay hidden by the sides? That, and given how he sounded inside…there was a very real sense of danger surrounding this man. Despite his otherwise normal look.
The dragonslayer bared his teeth in warning. "If you're here to blackmail me, tough luck, someone's already beaten you to it. And if you're one of those weird fans of criminals, I can always add you to the list of things that put me on the wanted list. Either way, I need you to do me a favor and cut the chit-chat and answer some of my questions."
"Oh I don't want to blackmail you," the other man continued, without a trace of fear in his voice, "and I'm not a fan, not like that at least. I just wanted to introduce myself…and I suppose to also thank you as well."
"Thank me? For what?" Cobra sneered.
"Why, for making my experiment a great success! And for giving me the things I've always wanted." In tandem with the serene smile that crossed the man's face, the pieces Cobra had forgotten up until this moment finally clicked into place, and he looked on in horror. "My name is Percy. I'm the reason you've been playing love doctor this week."
