A strange man suddenly appears during Link's ceremony who claims to have traveled with all past versions of Link and Zelda. Zelda decides this is a gift from Hylia and asks him to tell them of all the past journeys in the hope of finding a way to awaken her powers and stop Ganon. Link wishes to know if he will truly live up to his predecessors.

On the verge of burnout as graduation approaches, Zelda's friend, Mipha, encourages her to take a night off to see a local college alt-rock band. That is when Zelda sees Link, the band's bass guitarist, for the first time and falls hard; but when her insecurity and Link's best friend Ganondorf's drug addiction threatens their budding relationship, Zelda must learn to trust Link.

After defeating the Calamity and reliving the harsh realities of their past thanks to Maz Koshia and his trials through the Champions Ballad, Zelda demands that Link returns to their home in Hateno to rest their minds and bodies. Though Link reluctantly agrees, he can't shake the feeling that something is wrong. This is a sequel to Couple of the Wild(Zelink) and will reference it.
