Chapter 2: Hope Renewed and the hollow morning

In the sterile confines of room 413, the Heeler family gathered around Bingo!Chara, their minds consumed with uncertainty and apprehension. Bandit and Chilli exchanged solemn glances, silently conveying their shared determination to seek further medical attention for the body now inhabited by Chara Dreemurr.

With a heavy heart, Bandit immediately left the room and looked for a nurse to immediately call the doctor who treated Bingo earlier. He's hoped that there was still a chance to save Bingo's body: who now are the vessel occupied by Chara, to bring about some semblance of healing and restoration. After explaining to the nurse to call the doctor, Bandit sat in the available seat near him, thinking about what he should do now. but then, he remembers Pat who was broken by the news that Bandit told him earlier outside the hospital. "I have to... tell Pat about Bingo's current condition."

Meanwhile, outside the hospital walls, Pat sat alone on a bench, his heart heavy with guilt and sorrow. He replayed the events of the day in his mind, each moment filled with regret and self-blame. The sight of Bingo's lifeless form haunted him, a constant reminder of his perceived failure to prevent tragedy.

As Bandit stepped out of the hospital, a sense of resolve settled over him. He knew he had to deliver the news to Pat, to offer a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness that threatened to consume them all.

Approaching Pat with cautious steps, Bandit cleared his throat, his voice tinged with emotion. "Pat... I need to talk to you," he began, his gaze meeting Pat's weary eyes.

Pat looked up, his expression a mask of grief and anguish. "Bandit... I-I'm so sorry," he choked out, his voice barely above a whisper. "I should've been more careful... I should've..."

Bandit placed a comforting hand on Pat's shoulder, his heart aching for his friend's pain. "It's not your fault, Pat," he reassured him, his voice firm yet gentle. "And... there's something I need to tell you... About Bingo."

As Bandit delivered the news of Bingo's miraculous awakening, a flicker of hope ignited within Pat's eyes. "She's... she's alive?" he breathed, his voice tinged with disbelief.

Bandit nodded solemnly, his heart heavy with the weight of his own deception. "Yes, she's awake," he confirmed, choosing to withhold the truth of Chara's presence within Bingo's body, at least for now.

As Pat's expression softened with relief, Bandit couldn't shake the guilt that gnawed at his conscience. He knew the truth would eventually come to light, but for now, he chose to cling to the fragile hope that had been reignited in the wake of tragedy.

Then after that, it ends with Bandit and Pat sharing a moment of silent solidarity, Bandit clasped Pat's shoulder firmly, his eyes reflecting both sympathy and determination. "Listen, Pat, I know this has been tough on you. But blaming yourself won't change what happened. We need to focus on moving forward, together."

Pat's gaze dropped to the ground, his fists clenched in frustration. "I just can't shake this feeling that I let everyone down," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "I should've been more careful with Bingo... I should've prevented all of this happening to her."

Bandit sighed, his heart heavy with the weight of Pat's guilt. "We all wish we could go back and change things Pat, but we can't. What we can do is support each other and make things right from here on out."

Pat nodded slowly, his resolve beginning to strengthen. "You're right, Bandit. I can't keep dwelling on the past. I need to focus on what I can do now to help."

With a reassuring smile, Bandit squeezed Pat's shoulder gently. "That's the spirit, mate. Now, why don't you head home and get some rest? I'll stay here with the my family and keep you updated on Bingo's condition, yeah?."

Relief washed over Pat as he nodded gratefully. "Thanks, Bandit. And... I'm sorry again, for everything."

Bandit shook his head, his expression softening with understanding. "No need to apologize, Pat. We're all in this together. Just take care of yourself, alright?"

With a nod of agreement, Pat turned and headed towards the hospital exit, his heart heavy with a mixture of regret and determination. He knew he had a long road ahead of him, but with the support of his friends and family, he might be able to forgive himself and make amends himself to Bingo and the Heeler family.

As Pat disappeared through the hospital gate with his car, Bandit couldn't help but wrestle with a nagging doubt that lingered in the back of his mind. "What if Pat knew the truth?" he muttered to himself, his brow furrowed with concern. "Would he still be able to handle it, or would it break him?"

But Bandit quickly pushed aside his doubts, knowing that revealing the truth prematurely would only add more turmoil to an already delicate situation. With a deep breath, he squared his shoulders and resolved to focus on supporting his family now.

With renewed determination, Bandit strode back into the hospital room where his wife and two precious daughter is, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. He knew that the road ahead would be fraught with uncertainty, but he was determined to stand by his family's side, come what may.

As Pat sat behind the wheel of his car, the events of the day weighed heavily on his mind. Bandit's words echoed in his ears, urging him to go home and take care of himself. But as he draving his car to his home, a wave of uncertainty washed over him. How would he explain everything that had happened at the hospital to his family? How could he make sense of it all when he himself was struggling to understand? As he pondered these questions, something in his car slid and brushed against the back of his foot. Startled, Pat glanced down to see Lucky's flying disc lying there, hidden beneath his seat all this time. A surge of mixed emotions flooded through him—confusion, frustration, and a tinge of disbelief. "This must be some kind of sick and twisted joke," he muttered to himself, his grip on the steering wheel tightening as he tried to make sense of it all.

Janelle sat on the couch with her two boys watching TV, she was wondering what could've happened to Bingo for Pat to sound extremely panicked. Chucky was too focused thinking about Bingo to actually relax "Why is she in the hospital? What's happening?!" Lucky noticed his brother's behavior but couldn't find the words to cheer him up or calm him down, all they could do was wait.

Not too long after, Pat had walked into the home and everyone's eyes focused on him, Janelle then finally spoke "Pat, what's happened?" Pat let out a long and deep sigh, he began to tell them the events of everything that happened in nearly perfect detail, including the fact that it was his car that hit Bingo and he initially felt remorse as he told them all, about how he was told by Bandit that she didn't make it.

Chucky's hair began to stand, he couldn't catch his breath and he felt sick, But..! then Pat continued, "...but she's miraculously alive again."

Chucky couldn't believe what he just heard, his emotions shifting from despair to hope in an instant. "Alive? How?! What happened to her?" He asked, his voice trembling with a mix of disbelief and relief.

Pat nodded, tears still streaming down his face. "I don't know how, but Bandit told me again that Bingo is alive again. after he... Initially told me that she didn't make it then he went again to the room where Bingo is being treated." he said, his voice choked with emotion.

Chucky's emotions overwhelmed him, but this time, it was tears of joy streaming down his face. He hugged his father tightly, feeling a rush of gratitude and disbelief. Lucky watched the emotional scene unfold, his heart filled with relief and happiness for his family.

Chucky, who was very happy and grateful that Bingo was fine, asked permission from his family to go to his room to process what his father had told everyone earlier.

After Pat's announcement and then a little chat about what they all did while Pat waited at the hospital, everyone eventually decided to retire for the night.

And after a while each was in their room however, Lucky remained preoccupied with thoughts of what Chucky would do once allowed to go to his room first. He then came out of his room and entered his little brother's room to check on him. calling out, "Chucky, are you okay?" Chucky turned around, his face radiating happiness. He wiped away his tears, feeling a wave of relief. "I'm... I'm okay. Bingo, sh-she still alive... I-I'm so glad she's okay, Lucky." Lucky smiled, relieved to see his little brother finally finding some peace.

Lucky took a deep breath, feeling a weight lifted off his shoulders. "Me too, Chucky. Me too. It's... really a miracle that happened to her." he whispered, his voice filled with awe and gratitude. Chucky nodded in agreement as they embraced each other, knowing that their family had been given a second chance to still create a good memories and cherish their time together with Bingo and her family.

...

After the tumultuous events at the hospital, the Heeler family decided to returned home After saying goodbye to Bingo!Chara and the shocked doctor, their hearts heavy with the weight of uncertainty and grief. As they settled into the familiar comforts of their house, a somber silence descended upon them, each member grappling with their own thoughts and emotions.

"It's been a long day," Bandit finally spoke up, his voice tired yet resolute. "I think we all need some rest."

Chilli nodded in agreement, her eyes weary from the emotional strain of the day. "Yes, a good night's sleep... might do us all some good," she murmured softly.

With a collective sigh, the family dispersed to their respective rooms, seeking solace in the embrace of sleep. Yet, even as they closed their eyes, the events of the day lingered in their minds, casting a shadow over their dreams.

...

The next morning dawned with a hollow sense of emptiness, the air heavy with unspoken grief. As the family gathered around the kitchen on breakfast bar, the silence was deafening, each member lost in their own thoughts.

Bluey pushed her food around her plate, her appetite dulled by the weight of sorrow that hung in the air. Bandit and Chilli exchanged worried glances, their hearts aching for their daughter's pain.

"We need to talk about what happened," Bandit finally broke the silence, his voice heavy with emotion. "We can't ignore it, no matter how much we wish we could."

Chilli nodded in agreement, her eyes brimming with Deep sadness. "I know, but... I don't even know where to begin," she admitted, her voice wavering with uncertainty.

Bluey looked up, her eyes filled with a mixture of sadness and confusion. "I miss Bingo," she whispered, His voice was filled with pain and guilt for what she did to Bingo at that time. "But... I don't know how to feel about... about what happened."

The family sat in silence, the weight of their grief palpable in the air. Yet, amidst the sorrow, there was a glimmer of hope, a shared resolve to navigate the uncertain road ahead together.

As they lingered at the breakfast bar, each member found solace in the presence of their loved ones, knowing that together, they would find a way to heal from the pain of loss and forge a path forward.
