Warning: Broken Glass/ Self-harm/ Hearing voices/ voices in your head/ Talk about sharp objects. Also pretend a certain dino movie is more gruesome than it is
The sudden sound of glass shattering and unfamiliar footsteps made Diluc jump to his feet in slight shock. After seeing that a maid had accidentally knocked a vase off of a pedestal near where Kaeya was sitting. The maid profusely began to apologize and started to clean up the mess. After realizing that it was just a vase Diluc looked over to Kaeya seeing that a piece of broken glass had slid over his upper arm and left a small cut. Kaeya was looking at if mesmerized by the cut. Diluc turned to the maid "Please go get bandages and disinfectant." She quickly nodded and went to get what was requested. In the short time where Diluc had diverted his eyes from his brother, Kaeya pocketed a piece of the broken glass. He couldn't help it, he didn't want to but he felt like he needed to. He needed to have something sharp with him at all times. He knew that his friends and his brother would never understand. The desperation of having something sharp on him at all times. When he was without anything sharp he could feel himself start to panic and the voices got worse and worse. When he had a sharp object on him, he was calmer and more rational. After a few moments he noticed Diluc staring at him with worry bleeding into his red eyes. "Hey Diluc, sorry for zoning out on you. What's up?" Kaeya asked as Diluc sat next to his brother taking his arm and cleaning the new cut. "Diluc, please don't be too hard on the maid. She looks like she's new and you probably scared her." Kaeya felt bad knowing how intense Diluc could be, especially when it involved him. "Maids that are clumsy, and injure one of their master's should not receive any mercies. We have enough maids regardless and letting her go was the right course of action." Kaeya's eye widened in shock "What do you mean 'letting her go'?" Diluc pulled his brother into a hug after he was done bandaging his arm. "I mean she no longer works here. From what I hear she wasn't good in the first place and caused many issues. This was her third day too." Kaeya couldn't help but feel bad for the maid. Diluc let Kaeya out of the hug then called a new maid to clean up the shards from the vase.
Kaeya was forced out of the room as Diluc wanted him away from anything sharp for a long period of time. Kaeya sighed feeling bored. Diluc was working on his school work and had to go over the winery paperwork. Kaeya sighed and whipped out his phone.
Kaeya: Dude I'm so bored. If I can convince Diluc to let me come over/ let you come over, would you?
Childe: Yeah, I'm free. I think you'll have more luck with me coming over. Your brother letting you out of his range of sight or hearing probably won't be happening anytime soon. You know how overprotective he can get.
Kaeya: Tell me about it, earlier he fired a maid because she broke a vase... it ended up cutting me with one of the pieces and he kind of... yeah
Childe: Yeah but to be fair, she did hurt you. Even if it was by accident. I'm pretty sure that if it was anyone but Adeline or Elzer, they would have been fired regardless.
Kaeya: ... You're probably right. I still feel bad though because Diluc can be terrifying without even realizing it.
Childe: Yeah... especially if you piss him off... and you're not his brother. He doesn't let anyone else off easy. You're lucky.
Kaeya: I know... I'mma ask if you can come over brb.
Kaeya walked over to Diluc and hovered for a moment before gaining Diluc's attention. "What do you need? Is everything alright?" Diluc asked directing his attention to his brother. "Hey, Diluc? Umm... could Childe come over for a bit?" Diluc's lip twitched and Kaeya added "Please?"Diluc sighed and nodded. "Yes, he can come over. If you get into anything dangerous, you will both be in trouble. I mean it." Kaeya nodded and quickly texted Childe back letting him know.
Kaeya: Diluc said that you could come over but we're not allowed to do anything dangerous.
Childe: Cool, honestly though, we shouldn't push ourselves too hard. Maybe just watch a movie or something?"
Kaeya: We can decide when you get here.
Childe: OMW be there in a bit.
Kaeya smiled a bit. He was feeling stir crazy but was hoping that hanging out with Childe would fix that. Kaeya went downstairs to their parlor and started to go through his games and movies setting aside the ones that he knew Childe and he enjoyed. After a few moments the maids let Childe in and Diluc came down to greet him. "Good Evening Childe. Let me know when and if you need a ride home." Diluc politely offered. "I might just take you up on that offer." Childe answered with a small smile before plopping next to Kaeya. Diluc watched over the two for a while only retreating to his office when they both agreed and started a movie they both agreed on that Diluc approved of. After a few hours Diluc noticed that it was getting quite late and made his way to check on Childe and Kaeya. They had both fallen asleep, their heads on each other's shoulders. Diluc shook his head at the scene before walking over to the pair and gently shaking them awake. "Hmm... oh Master Diluc... What time is it?" Childe stirred first. "It's almost eleven at night. Kaeya, wake up!" Diluc shook Kaeya a little stronger getting small mumbles before Kaeya grabbed Diluc's arm and curled up to it. Diluc sighed as he gingerly took his arm back causing Kaeya to wake up. "Hey Kaeya, we need to drop Childe off." Kaeya stared up at him and blinked a few times. "Oh okay." Kaeya got up and jumped on Diluc causing the older to stumble slightly before regaining his footing. "Really Kaeya?" Diluc slightly sighed adjusting his grip on Kaeya before starting to walk towards the kitchen signalling with his head for Childe to follow him. "I'm sorry about not having you just stay over. I just don't want him to get too overwhelmed." Diluc said gently to Childe. "Hey, it's cool but it may help him to be with more of his friends. Kaeya... he can get lonely real quick y'know..." Childe trailed off deciding that the scenery outside was more interesting than talking with Diluc about this. Diluc was watching out the window keeping an eye on the ginger. He knew that he could unintentionally hurt Kaeya without realizing it but in a way he was right. Diluc gripped the steering wheel tighter than he was. "Y'know for someone who's actually really smart, you act dumb. He's my kid brother, regardless of anything, and I just don't want to see him hurt in any shape, way, or form... And he's extremely fragile right now. No matter how he tries to present himself... no matter how much he tries to hide it... you can tell too, can't you?" Childe only nodded at Diluc's question and knew exactly what the redhead meant. Kaeya began to mumble something in his sleep causing Diluc to quickly spare him a glance before making eye contact with Childe in the mirror. "We're here." Diluc said pulling into Childe's driveway where Diluc noticed a different car than normal in the driveway. Childe looked at it as well in shock. "New car?" Diluc asked the ginger who shook his head. "My cousins here... I didn't realize he would be here today..." It seemed as if Childe was now far away and someone else took the reins. Suddenly the dazed teen sighed, shook his head, and stretched. "Thanks for the ride home! See you later!" He climbed out of the backseat and quickly went inside. Diluc made sure that Childe had got in before he pulled out of the driveway.
Kaeya found himself in his bed later that night when Diluc was sleeping in his. Kaeya figured that he must have fallen asleep at some point of the car ride and his brother decided to be merciful and let him sleep instead of waking him. He quickly noticed he was the only one up at the hour and suddenly the knowledge of the glass shard had been regained by him. Kaeya quickly and quietly made his way over to the bathroom quickly closing the new door behind him. He took out the shard and stared at it. He wasn't sure why he had it, and he knew that it would be better to get rid of it but he felt like it was needed. Just something that can help him when everything gets too much. Then Kaeya thought 'Should I cut?' which was only answered by the temptations of blades and to slash at his thighs, arms, hips, anywhere he could until he could just feel nothing, or his mind was fuzzy and empty. Some may not understand it but for Kaeya, it was the most calming sensation in the world, everything would just melt away and he would be in bliss albeit a short period of time. Kaeya sighed as he pulled his pants down just enough to expose his thighs. The cuts that were infected now looked as if they were healing and slowly becoming scars. Kaeya hated his scars more than anything else of his body. The scars would always be there as a reminder, and beckoning him to continue the cycle of self-harm. Kaeya knew his brother would likely end up wanting to check his cuts on his thighs despite the fact they were healing. Kaeya pulled his long sleeves up to his elbow and pressed the glass shard against his skin. It wasn't hard enough to draw any blood but it wasn't soft as it left an angry red impression on his arm where he had pressed it. Kaeya hesitated for a moment before being unable to stop himself and pressing the shard into his skin. It made him slightly flinch and the cut stung for a moment before the sensation turned into a kind of buzz for Kaeya. His mind already started to feel like cotton as he added another slash, this time only feeling full relief. Kaeya added three more cuts to his arm before pocketing the shard and watching the blood drip to the bathroom floor in a trance-like state. After the blood started to dry up, Kaeya started to do the quiet clean up first and cleaned the blood from the white tiles on the bathroom floor. Once he got up all the blood he could, he quickly cleaned the dried blood off of his arm with soap and water, along with the newly added cuts. He then disinfected them then started to bandage them. Once he was done he turned off the bathroom lights before retiring to his bed. He quickly fell back asleep but felt refreshed.
When Kaeya woke up, he was exhausted and groggy. He didn't want to wake up and turned on his side covering himself in his blanket. Suddenly he heard heavy footsteps come towards him. "Kaeya" His brother was using his 'strict' tone reserved for when Kaeya was either in trouble or needed to listen. "I told you that you needed to be up by now. You were asleep before me how are you still this tired?" Kaeya groaned stretching under the covers before yawning out "I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't fall asleep. Why did we need to be up this early today?" Kaeya looked out from his cocoon of a blanket with his eye staring up at Diluc. Diluc crossed his arms shaking his head. "Jean wanted to do something on the weekend for my birthday but we were all too busy last weekend." As soon as Diluc mentioned his birthday, Kaeya broke out of the blanket and quickly started to get ready. Diluc shook his head before going downstairs to make sure he had the stuff he agreed to bring over to Jean's. He went over to the stairs to wait for Kaeya to come down. After waiting three minutes he heard footsteps and saw Kaeya start coming down the steps. Suddenly Kaeya missed a step and started to fall face first before being caught against his brother's chest. "Be careful! Are yo okay? You seem out of it." Diluc asked him while looking the younger over before Kaeya smiled "I'm alright, just very tired. I'll sleep in the car, after all Jean's is a bit away." Diluc nodded as he walked him to the car before getting the bags filled with what he would bring over. When Diluc got into the car Kaeya was already basically asleep. Diluc started the car and began his drive to Jean's. About halfway to Jean's Kaeya began to stir and yawned tiredly. "You can sleep a little longer if you need to Kae." Diluc spoke softly. "I don't think I can sleep anymore no matter how tired I am." Kaeya sighed sitting up. "We'll be at Jean's soon. Just try to relax until then, okay?" Kaeya only nodded as he pulled out his phone to see that he had a few messages.
Lumine: You're going over Jean's right?
Lumine: I'm guessing you're sleeping. Xiao, Aether and I will be heading over there soon. I am honestly glad to be getting out of the house other than going to therapy.
Kaeya: Hey, yeah I was asleep and I know right? That's how I felt when Diluc let me hang out with Childe. It felt like I was "Normal" again.
Lumine: Yeah. Do you know who's gonna be there?
Kaeya: No but I can ask Diluc.
"Hey Diluc? Do you know who'll be there?" Kaeya asked his brother who looked thoughtful for a moment. "I know Jean and Barbara will be there for sure. I believe that Aether, Lumine and Xiao will be there. And wherever Jean is, Lisa is never too far." Kaeya nodded at his brother's reply. "Why?" Diluc asked. "Lumine texted me asking who was coming. Told her I'd ask you. "Ah, I've heard that she's been a bit stir crazy lately. I bet you're the same way. Who knows, this may help you feel more normal than you've felt in quite some time. 'Oh, you have no Idea, my dear brother. It's essentially like old times.' Kaeya thought bitterly gently rubbing his forearm. "You okay?" Diluc looked over to Kaeya. "Yeah, just peachy." Diluc only slightly frowned before turning off the exit and pulling into the last stretch of road before arriving at Jean's.
Kaeya: Diluc thinks that it'll likely be Jean, Lisa, Barbara, Aether, Xiao, him, you and I there.
Lumine: Cool. Thanks for checking for me. I wish that we could just have more freedom, y'know? It's kinda suffocating to be watched 24/7
Kaeya: I know. I don't have my own room anymore. It took forever to convince Diluc to move his work to another room.
Lumine: That workaholic will likely move everything back to his room at some point.
Kaeya: You're probably right but while I'm his roommate I won't let it happen.
Lumine: Yeah. I'm just glad your able to rely on each other.
Kaeya:...
Lumine: ? What's wrong?
Kaeya: It's nothing... just overthinking...
Lumine:... I understand. It'll be okay. I'll see you in a bit. Later.
Kaeya: Bye
As Lumine and Kaeya ended their conversation, Diluc pulled into Jean's driveway. First, Diluc went inside with Kaeya and was greeted at the door by Jean, Lisa, and Barbara. "Good morning guys! I thought you were going to be here earlier." Jean smiled. "Sorry about that... I was having a hard time waking up this morning. I just feel so tired." Kaeya started to lean on Diluc somewhat before he was guided to sit down on the couch. "I wonder if it's a side effect of your medications. One of them is technically a sedative but normally it doesn't affect you this bad" Diluc started to mumble before shaking his head. "Anyways, I will be right back, I just have to grab a few things from the car. Please watch over him for a moment for me." Diluc requested only to see Lisa hug his brother and slightly hold him on the couch. "Hey there, cutie. I haven't seen you lately. Are you doing okay?" Lisa asked the blue haired teen gently. Kaeya only blinked before falling back asleep against the comfort of the couch and Lisa's calming perfume. Jean, Barbara and Lisa all shared a look before Barbara retreated to get a blanket. "Lumine, Xiao and Aether won't be here for a bit so if he needs sleep, he should sleep." Jean stated to the other two who nodded. After a few moments Diluc came back carrying in the bags he brought with them. "Thank you so much for bringing those Diluc." Jean smiled at the bags of chips, some desserts, along with a few appetizers. "No worries. Sorry about Kaeya, If I had known this is how he'd be feeling, I wouldn't have suggested today." Diluc said gently. Jean shook her head "Nonsense. We're happy to have you both, plus we haven't seen Kaeya in so long so we don't mind." Barbara smiled and quickly brought out a drink. "This is a cinnamon energy drink. It might help him when everyone gets here." Diluc thanked her and was pulled into a seat next to Jean. He saw Lisa patting Kaeya's hair as he slept and knew that he was okay. "How's he been doing lately? Aether says Lumine is getting stir crazy and seems lonelier than normal." Jean asked softly which gained everyone's attention. "I think he's been a bit stir crazy and lonely himself. I let him have Childe over for a bit last night and he enjoyed that for a while before they fell asleep. If we had the guest room set up, I would have let him stay over. I'll have Adeline and the maids get a guestroom or two ready." The others smiled softly to him as a comfortable silence rested over them. After a few moments Jean and Diluc started to politely converse while setting up the coffee table with drinks, chips, and goodies. Barbara and Jean were both going to make dinner once everyone was there. Kaeya started to stir and groggily sat up only to be pulled into a bear hug by Lisa. Diluc spared his brother a sheepish grin before Jean took Kaeya and hugged him tightly. When Jean released Kaeya from the hug she smiled "Barbara made you an energy drink. It's cinnamon flavored." Kaeya smiled and gave the drink a quick sip. "This is good. Thank you Barbara." Kaeya ended up gulping down his energy drink to the horror of everyone. "Kaeya, there was CINNAMON in that. You could have choked!" Diluc's voice cracked as he stared at his brother. He was considering smacking him or just shaking his head. Diluc looked towards his brother only for him to see Kaeya zoning out again. "Kaeya?" Diluc said gently grabbing Kaeya's shoulder. Kaeya's head jerked and he quickly shook his head. "Sorry. I don't know what's wrong with me. I'm okay" Kaeya closed his eye and smiled at Diluc. The redhead looked him over for a moment then nodded pulling his brother down next to him on the couch. "We're still waiting on Aether, Lumine, and Xiao. You can rest longer if you need to." Kaeya shook his head as best he could with being squished between Diluc, Jean, and Lisa. "I think I'm good now. Sorry about crashing Jean. I don't know why I've been so sleepy today." Diluc looked over Kaeya and quickly felt his head and cheeks. "You feel okay but maybe I should keep you home tomorrow just in case..." Diluc trailed off fussing over Kaeya. "Luc, I'll be fine." The redhead sighed and sat back down. Jean put on a movie for them to watch while waiting for the others to arrive.
As the movie's credits rolled Aether, Xiao and Lumine arrived. "Sorry we're late. We hit some traffic" Aether smiled politely. "Happy belated birthday Diluc!" The redhead nodded towards him in thanks with a small smile. Xiao sat in the corner of the room looking over everyone, mainly focusing on Lumine and Kaeya. Jean and Barbara got up to cook dinner for everyone. Lisa and Aether ended up getting into an intense conversation. Lumine took the seat next to Kaeya while they talked about anything or anything that they could. Diluc was next to them just having a silent conversation with Xiao. After a few moments Xiao joined them on the couch taking a seat next to Diluc and enjoyed the comfortable silence. "I still can't believe that happened. I'm glad that everything got deescalated." Lumine shook her head. "Did something happen? Were you in trouble?" Xiao asked and Lumine quickly pt his worries at ease. "I'm fine. While Kaeya and I were in our outpatient program, one of the members had a bad reaction. It happens but we were all safe. It was just surprising because the person is normally quiet and if something is wrong, she goes to the mentors." Kaeya nodded signalling that it was the majority of the story. Xiao and Diluc let out the breath they were holding before going back to their silent conversation. "Hey, think we can go outside? It feels too crowded here..." Kaeya asked softly. "Of course, just make sure someone is with you." Jean said as she retreated from the kitchen to grab a few items she had left out. "Lumine, want to head outside?" Kaeya asked only to be replied by Lumine standing up and almost bolting straight to the back porch. After they went out Diluc and Xiao both stood up only for Lisa to stop them. "I'll keep an eye on them for you guys. It may help them to feel like they're not being watched." After Lisa finished she quickly climbed the stairs and went on the balcony above the porch Kaeya and Lumine were on. "Kaeya, have you had any temptations?" Lumine had asked while looking out to Jean's backyard. "... What do you mean?" Kaeya asked. "It feels like something keeps beckoning me to purge all of my meals. It feels like I need to and when I can't the desire to cut is so strong." Kaeya was silent. "I don't want to talk about it..." After that Lumine continued looking over Jean's backyard and Kaeya took a seat in one of the chairs on the deck. "Ah, I see. You've already lost a battle. It's okay." Lumine said gently as Kaeya looked down. "That's... I couldn't fight the thoughts. The outpatient program is great but... at the end of the day it's answering on a sheet of paper and it's so easy to just say 'Hey, I'm fine' and be done and over it." Lumine only nodded with a small smile.
After a few moments Barbara came out to get Kaeya and Lumine "Hey guys, dinner's ready!" While Barbara was collecting Lumine and Kaeya, Lisa went back inside and tapped on Diluc's shoulder. "We need to talk before you leave" She mouthed with urgency to him and Diluc nodded. Once Lumine and Kaeya came back in with Barbara in tow. They all took their seats, Xiao next to Aether and Lumine, Diluc next to Kaeya and Jean. Barbara took her seat next to Jean and Lisa sat next to Kaeya. As everyone ate, they noticed Kaeya and Lumine taking less food. Xiao grabbed Lumine's plate as Diluc grabbed Kaeya's plate and put a good serving of everything on it. "I can't eat that much" both Kaeya and Lumine called out. "We don't expect you to finish, but please eat more than what was originally on your plates." Lisa asked gently which prompted a nod from them both. After about an hour they all were done. Diluc helped Jean clean up the plates and put away the leftovers. Lisa came in and tapped Diluc on his shoulder. As they left Kaeya caught sight of them going to a private area. After a few moments Diluc and Lisa returned. Lisa went straight to Lisa's side hanging with her and sitting on top of her counters, making Jean sigh. Diluc stayed around Kaeya who was chilling with Lumine playing Mario Kart. Diluc took the seat on the couch behind Kaeya, who was sitting on the floor next to Lumine. Xiao was next to Diluc and behind Lumine. Diluc and Xiao spared each other a glance before paying attention to their game. Kaeya and Lumine were neck and neck and throwing out everything they could at one another. After their first round they both yelled "Fuck" as Lumine was in second, and Kaeya was in third. Xiao, Aether, and Diluc all said "Language" while scrolling through their phones. After the third match Diluc pulled Kaeya up next to him and took the controller away. "Enough. You're both getting way too worked up." Diluc said as Xiao did the same with Lumine. "I need to make a phone call. Kaeya, you're staying home tomorrow. This isn't open for a debate." Diluc said as he stepped outside. While he stepped outside Kaeya pulled out his phone reading through a few random articles. When Diluc came back he sighed as he sat down. "I called out for you for tomorrow. Their call out system is awful." Kaeya smiled mischievously only for Diluc to say "Don't." Kaeya sighed and got up walking towards the kitchen before promptly turning and running at Diluc full speed knocking him off the couch. "KAEYA!" Diluc shouted as everyone else shook their heads at their antics. Diluc flicked Kaeya's forehead with an unamused pout. "I told you not to do that. Yes, that's what I meant by 'don't'." Kaeya was holding his forehead with a slight pot. No, his eye wasn't watering because it didn't hurt... that much. Jean went over to the two to make sure both were okay then shook her head at their foolishness. Kaeya decided to cling to Lisa and Jean milking Diluc's flick for all it was worth. Lisa played along because she missed Kaeya and was more than happy to give him as much attention and love as she could.
After an hour of everyone goofing around, they decided to watch a movie together. Diluc stole Kaeya from Lisa's clutches and had him sit next to him and Lumine. Lumine was next to Aether while Xiao was in front of them on the floor. Lisa sat next to Aether and Jean, Jean sat next to Diluc, and Barbara sat next to Jean. They decided to watch Jurassic Word and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom as the newest one would be coming out soon. At some of the more gruesome or slightly bloody scenes, Kaeya and Lumine would cringe. Kaeya would hold onto Diluc tightly not understanding the reason why these scenes made him feel almost like he was sick but not sick at the same time. Lumine would turn into Aether's side. The older siblings both rubbed circles on their younger siblings backs. "If this is too much for you guys, we can put on something else." Jean offered in concern. "It's alright. I don't understand why this is making me feel the way I am... I think the rest of the movie should be fine." Kaeya said quietly. Diluc tucked Kaeya into his side and so that if any other possibly bloody scene came on he could hide it from Kaeya's eye. Kaeya ended up curled up listening to his brother's heartbeat to calm him down while Diluc continued rubbing his back. Lumine ended up being in a similar position with Aether. Soon the ending credits rolled. "Let's watch something we can all enjoy." Jean said getting up and going through her streaming platforms. "It's okay." Lumine said softly. "Please don't stop watching the movie just for us. We'll be okay" Kaeya finished slightly softer than Lumine. "We want to watch a movie you can enjoy too." Barbara said softly. "Why not Frozen II? It's good and always ends up being enjoyable." Lisa suggested. Everyone nodded and Jean put the movie on. Lumine and Kaeya both bolted out to Into the Unknown and Show Yourself. Towards the end of the movie Kaeya was leaning into Diluc's side sound asleep. Lumine had ended up somehow in Xiao's lap asleep.
"Do you guys want to stay over? Kaeya and Diluc can share a room and Aether, Lumine, and Xiao can share another?" Jean offered. After looking outside and realizing the time Diluc sighed. "I think I'm going to take you up on that. I'm just glad I packed Kaeya's medicine just in case." At that the redhead picked up his brother and followed Jean up to their guestroom. After laying Kaeya down on the bed and tucking him in, Diluc returned downstairs. "Dain said we could stay over as long as Xiao is with us. So if it's okay with Xiao, we'll be staying." Aether said gently before noticing Xiao carrying Lumine waiting for Jean up the stairs. When they returned they joined the other's on the couch. "We put Lumine and Kaeya in the same room for the time being. The door's open and we figured it would be better than having them alone in a room." Aether and Diluc nodded in agreement. "I think that's a good idea. I don't really want Kaeya alone right now. Especially after what Lisa told me she overheard." Diluc said as he stared outside. "I know, it worried me as well. Anyways, do you need Pajamas? We have spares for everyone." Everyone nodded yes and Jean retrieved them, including ones for Kaeya and Lumine. "I'm guessing they both have medications that they need to take soon so I got some for them." Jean smiled. "I want Kaeya to rest for a bit longer. Why don't we watch something, then we can wake them up, have them take their medicine and change." Diluc suggested. They all quickly took a spot on the couch and put on Fallen Kingdom. Half-way through Kaeya came back down rubbing his eye looking for Diluc. The redhead quickly got up and led his brother to the kitchen. He got a cup of water and has Kaeya take his medicine before pushing a black tee-shirt, and royal blue flannel pants into Kaeya's arms. "They're to sleep in. Put them on. You can join us or go back to bed after you change." After that Kaeya disappeared into the bathroom. After a few moments he came back out and Diluc noticed the bandages on his arms. Seeing how groggy Kaeya was, he decided not to ask about it until tomorrow. He had a feeling about what losing a battle meant but needed to hear what happened from his brother. Whenever Kaeya was tired or in a half-asleep state, he'd always be clingy or cuddly. So it was no surprise when Kaeya had hugged Diluc and followed him out to the living room where everyone else was. If they saw the bandage, they didn't mention it. Kaeya curled up into Diluc's side as the movie progressed quickly falling back to sleep. Once the movie was over, Diluc carried Kaeya back up to their room. Xiao trailed behind them and woke up Lumine to have her take her medicine and get changed as well. After that, Xiao, Aether, and Lumine went to their assigned guest room while Diluc quickly used the guest bath to get dressed. When he was out, he planted into bed and spared Kaeya a quick glance before sleep over took him.
The sun was glaring through the window onto Kaeya's caramel skin. Kaeya enjoyed the sunlight and loved to bask in it as best he could. After a few moments he started to stir. He stretched and looked around for a moment before realizing they must all still be at Jean's. He started to smell the sweet scent of bacon in the morning, probably courtesy of Barbara. "Good morning, Kaeya" Diluc yawned and quickly stretched as he got out of his bed. "We need to talk." Diluc said with a sharpness in his voice. Kaeya went to grab and rub his arm on habit realizing that his bandaged arm had been exposed. 'Oh' was all that Kaeya thought before realizing his brother came and sat next to him. "Why's your arm bandaged?" Diluc asked gently grabbing Kaeya's arm and trying to see if he could see any type of injury. Kaeya knew he could trust his brother but was scared of telling him the truth. Kaeya didn't understand the feeling of needing to hide this from his brother. It didn't make sense but Kaeya ended up curled into himself. Diluc released Kaeya's arm and let Kaeya's head lay in his lap. After a few moments Diluc gingerly patted Kaeya's hair helping his brother calm down. After Kaeya was calmed he stayed on Diluc's lap as he went through his head detangling his blue locks. "Promise you won't be mad." Kaeya said softy. Diluc immediately replied "I won't get mad at you. I'm just very concerned and want to make sure you're okay." Kaeya was surprised at how gentle and sincere his brother was and started to cry a bit. "Kaeya? Are you alright?" Diluc stopped afraid he hurt his brother only for the blue haired teen to hug him hiding his face in the crook of his neck. Diluc rubbed circles on Kaeya's back until Kaeya's sobs subsided . "I'm sorry" Kaeya's voice was raw from crying. Diluc rubbed his back "There's nothing to be sorry about. What happened to your arm?" Kaeya hesitated before replying "I couldn't stop myself. I tried but it's so hard to fight when it's dark and you're alone." Diluc squeezed Kaeya tighter. "We need to talk about all this soon. If you feel like you're going to hurt yourself, please talk to me, Adeline or someone. You're never going to be alone Kaeya. I don't care if I am asleep, if you feel like you're going to hurt yourself please wake me up." Kaeya nodded as Diluc gently put Kaeya down and got up. "When we go home, we're going to wash, disinfect it, and re-bandage it. For now, let's go downstairs for breakfast." Diluc led Kaeya downstairs where Barbara was up and cooking, Jean was enjoying her morning coffee, and Lisa was groggily leaning on Jean looking half asleep. "Good morning! Aether, Lumine, and Xiao have yet to wake up so we were gonna wait for them. Diluc and Kaeya nodded agreeing only for Xiao to come down. "The twins are still sleeping. I figured it would be best to come down so I didn't wake them." After that Xiao sat next to Lisa and went on his phone. Kaeya pulled his out and scrolled through a few posts before putting his phone on the table before it vibrated causing the entire table to vibrate with the sound it made. Kaeya quickly picked up his phone and saw a text from Albedo. It was a photo of Klee with Dodoco and what looked like a fox. Kaeya couldn't help but smile at the photo and replied to Albedo.
Kaeya: That's adorable!
Albedo: I know, right? She misses you by the way.
Kaeya: I miss her too. If you need a babysitter I could convince Diluc to watch her while he's watching me as well.
Albedo: Smh. Anyways I'll talk to you later. Gotta stop Klee from terrorizing Mond's fish.
Kaeya: Later then.
When Kaeya looked up he noticed that everyone was looking at him. "So, what was that you were smiling at, Cutie?" Lisa said smiling. Kaeya tapped on the photo of Klee and showed it to everyone getting 'awws' from Lisa, Barbara, and Jean. Xiao nodded at it and Diluc just smiled softly. After a few moments the twins came downstairs rubbing their eyes and yawning. As they sat down, Barbara finished breakfast. Jean helped Barbara bring the food over to the table as Diluc aided in bringing the drinks over. Lisa put a cup of coffee in front of Diluc who nodded gratefully. After everyone was settled and had food on their plate, Xiao made Lumine's plate and Diluc made Kaeya's, they started their breakfast. Once everyone was finished, they got dressed and started to get ready to go home. "Thank you for letting us come over and stay over, Jean. It was nice to be with all of you." Diluc said as he guided Kaeya to the car.
After a long ride, Diluc and Kaeya arrived home. Elzer and Adeline greeted them as Diluc guided Kaeya upstairs. Once they were upstairs, Diluc softly unwrapped Kaeya's bandages and started to clean and disinfect his arm. "Don't hate me for this, but inside you're banned from wearing long sleeves inside. It probably won't help but it makes me feel better. You know you can always come to me, no matter what time it is or the issue, right, Kaeya?" He nodded at the redheads words and was pulled into a hug. "We're having that talk, today." Red eyes met lilac-blue eyes as Kaeya nodded knowing that he would be unable to talk his way out of pushing it off for later now. "Can we wait until later today to talk about this?" Kaeya was playing with his hands and starting to rock back and forth. Diluc looked him over before replying "Your anxiety will only get worse if you think about it too much. It's just a talk. We can wait until you calm down, but you're not going to get in trouble for anything you tell me. I promise. This is to help you Kaeya." After that Kaeya started to talk about everything, from how he felt after they lost their father to the stress he felt like he was under. Diluc listened as Kaeya explained everything from how he got involved in drinking alcohol to how he started to cut. Kaeya was being held as he finished talking about everything. Once Kaeya was done Diluc pulled Kaeya into a hug. "No matter what, I am always going to be here for you. You can always come to me. You can go to Elzer, Adeline, email your therapist or your mentors. You're not alone, and I will never leave you alone. No matter what, come to me first. We can figure something out from there." After Kaeya stopped crying, Diluc pulled him up. "Tomorrow is outpatient for you. Then there's a long weekend. It may help to go on a short trip, right?" Kaeya looked up and nodded. "A few others may join us but I'm not sure yet. I'm waiting for them to respond to see if they'll come." Diluc said as he stood up and stretched. "For now, let's just rest easy." After Diluc said that he went into his office while Kaeya rested. He liked the sound of going out and getting out of their house. He decided to annoy Diluc by signing him up for cat facts. After ten minutes Diluc came in "Remove cat facts off of my phone now. If you do it now, then I'll only scold you." Kaeya started to make a face almost like he was considering his options. "I will change the WiFi password and not give it to you for a week. I will also take away your phone while you're at home." Diluc threatened. "Wait no, not my phone. Music helps me." Diluc looked like he wanted to chase or slap Kaeya for a moment before Kaeya went in to unsubscribe him from the facts. "Every thirty seconds. Really Kaeya? That's not even an option. How did you manage to get that done." Kaeya shrugged and decided to follow Diluc into his study. After Diluc worked for a while, he got up and went into the bathroom. Kaeya smiled playfully as he went through his brother's desk silently. He found the item he was looking for and silently laughed as he started his work.
