"Diluc. Kaeya's a very smart kid. He literally has so many blocks on his location, it's making it difficult for me to track him." Scaramouche called out to the redhead pacing around the table as he typed manically. Diluc turned to him "Does that mean you can't?" Fear bled into his red eyes. Lumine, Childe, Xiao and Aether along with Jean, Lisa, Rosaria and Barbara were looking for Kaeya while Diluc was told to stay home in the case he came home. Scaramouche needed WiFi to lock onto the younger Ragnvindr's location so he stayed with Diluc. "I said difficult, not that I can't. Once I pinpoint his location, you're going after him right?" Diluc locked eyes with Scaramouche for a second before he went back to tracking. "I thought so."
The breeze against his cheek was cold and crisp as the air from Dragonspine. Kaeya's eye opened and he realized he was still in the apple tree near the winery. He did a quick look around before jumping out of the tree and heading towards the pathway towards Liyue. He didn't know where he was going but he didn't want to go home. He heard his phone buzz a few times but he ignored it. Kaeya just wanted to be left alone. His mind was fuzzy and he felt numb. Kaeya continued to walk the path he was on until he couldn't recognize his surroundings anymore. As he continued down his path he bumped into someone "I'm sorry, sir- Mr. Zhongli?!" Kaeya's voice raised an octave in surprise and before the brunette man could say anything the blue haired teen sprinted past him and towards the path once again. The brunette called after the teen requesting him to stop only for his pleas to be ignored. He sighed and pulled out his phone calling a friend. When the call went unanswered he went to texting.
Zhongli: Scaramouche? I tried to call you but it went unanswered.
Zhongli: Scara? Is everything alright?
Scaramouche: What the fuck do you want blockhead? If it's about her, shove it.
Zhongli: While I personally would like to see you reconcile with her, it's about something else. You said that Kaeya ran away, yes?
Scaramouche: Yes, what of it.
Zhongli: Well he just ran/ bumped into me before sprinting off before I could stop him. Don't worry, I have Keqing keeping track of him. Seems like he's stopped around Wangshu Inn.
Scaramouche: Damn, thank you. I guess I owe you one...
Zhongli: Listen, anything to help the kids I work with is reward enough.
Scaramouche: Diluc and I are heading there now. Keep us updated if anything changes.
"ARCHON'S DILUC! SLOW DOWN" Scaramouche said clinging onto anything he could while Diluc sped through everything to get to Wangshu Inn as soon as possible. He was silent as he focused on getting to the Inn as soon as possible. As soon as he noticed a mop of blue hair next to a purple haired girl, Diluc parked the car and ran to his brother gathering him up in his arms. "Don't scare me like that again!" Diluc yelled keeping Kaeya in a bone crushing embrace. "I- I can't breathe" Kaeya choked out only for the hug to slightly loosen but his brother refused to let him leave his arms. "Excuse me, Diluc? Are you planning on going home tonight or are you going to stay here?" Scaramouche asked as he watched the brothers. Diluc looked down at Kaeya "Let's go home." As Diluc guided Kaeya to the car, Scaramouche sniped the car keys from Diluc's pocket "No way I'm letting you drive after all that. Get in with Kaeya in the back." Scaramouche said as he started Diluc's car and waited for the brothers to get in. After they were both in safely he began the drive back to their manor.
"Oh, thank goodness, Kaeya! You're alright!" Jean pulled Kaeya into his umpteenth hug that night. Diluc was letting everyone stay over due to how late the search ended and everyone wanted to check on the blue-haired teen who was currently being crushed by Lisa and Jean while Barbara tried to get them to release him. The redhead knew that this was just the calm before the storm and before he knew it he had an armful of little brother pushed into his arms. "Kae, come with me for a minute." He said while leading them up to their room. "Childe told me about what happened, are you alright? I'm sorry about not asking you about what happened. You know you can always let the staff know what happened as well. Please let them know what happened and apologize for taking it out on them. As for you being grounded, just disregard it. I'm not going to punish you for shutting down. Oh, and Kaeya? You know I love you so so much. I can't lose you. You're the last piece of my family that I have. Please don't run away, please just talk to me Kae." Kaeya nodded with a small "Okay. I won't run away again." Diluc pulled Kaeya into another bone-crushing hug before releasing him. "We should get some sleep, after all we have to be up early." After tucking Kaeya in and making sure the blue-haired teen was asleep Diluc went downstairs briefly to update everyone who only nodded and turned in for the night as well.
"You really should get checked out before you go across the sea..." Il Dottore tried to talk to Signora in hopes of her changing her mind. "Would you quit it, I'm just fine. I need to finish packing." She waved her cousin off who decided to hold his ground. "You've been losing weight without trying, you've come down with a fever multiple times this week, and honestly you seem paler." Signora scoffed at him before turning away and packing more for her trip. "Thank you for your concern, Cousin, but I assure you everything will be fine." As she finished saying this she zipped up her suitcase before beginning to walk past the family doctor. "Signora, just be careful out there..." He watched as she left and felt a weird stroke of melancholy. He wasn't sure why he was feeling this way but every fiber in his being wanted to run after her and drag her back. "Il Dottore? Miss would like to see you" One of the servants called out to him. Unfortunately, this wasn't someone he could refuse on a whim so he sighed as he followed the servant to her.
Signora looked back upon the manor before her car pulled up behind her "My lady, we will ensure a comfortable trip to the airport for you." One of the drivers said. She sighed and nodded allowing them to lead her inside the car. She took out her phone and brought up her second to last contact.
La Signora: I'm en route to the airport.
Scaramouche: Let me know when you get to the airport.
La Signora: Hey Scara? There's something I need to tell you. Do you think it could just be you when you come and get me? I also want to get Childe a present and I'm not sure what that kid likes.
Scaramouche: That shouldn't be a problem. I can ask Diluc to watch him for a bit.
La Signora: Wait, Diluc as in Diluc Ragnvindr?
Scaramouche: Yes. Is there a problem.
La Signora: No, none at all. I'm at the airport. I'll let you know when we're boarding.
Scaramouche: Alright, stay safe.
Signora put her phone away as she went to her gate and waited to board. When she was in her seat she sent a quick text to her cousin letting him know she was on board the plane. After about a half-hour she was on her way to Mondstadt.
Kaeya was numb. He didn't want to go back home but he knew he had to. His brother wouldn't hesitate to get everyone, including the connections he tried to hide from the blue-haired teen, involved to find him. So Kaeya went home and let everyone hug him, and celebrate his return. After he thought everyone was asleep he started his way out to the balcony. He looked up at the stars in a way to feel something when he felt a warm breeze behind him. "You should be resting." Kaeya said before hearing a scoff. "I was about to say the same to you. Your brother will probably wake up in a few moments and panic at not seeing you there." The starry-eyed teen sighed as he leaned against the door "What about your two brothers? They'd freak out." The two laughed as they just talked into the early morning hours. Despite their teasing, it was actually Scaramouche and Childe who found the pair. The elder of the two sent them off to bed before he waved them goodbye.
