Four months had passed, bringing with them days filled with excitement, adjustments, and constant anticipation. These months were marked by one constant vision: the big day. Tony and Pepper's wedding was scheduled for October 2nd, and the excitement was palpable. For many, fall is seen as a season of farewells, where the leaves fall and the days grow shorter, symbolizing the end of cycles. However, for Pepper, the season had always been a time of renewal and reflection. It was a time of year that represented change and transformation, a time to prepare for a new spring. She loved fall for its ability to balance the crisp coolness of the air with the coziness of slightly colder days, creating the perfect backdrop for outdoor events, like the wedding that was to be held in the mansion's garden.

The space chosen for the ceremony was divided into two distinct areas. The first was where the ceremony would take place: white chairs, adorned with roses and hydrangeas, were set on either side of an aisle leading to a central, flowered arch. The second area, reserved for the post-wedding dinner, was illuminated with twinkling lights and candles, creating an intimate and welcoming atmosphere. Two tents had been set up, under which were tables and chairs elegantly arranged, complete with golden dinnerware, utensils, and glasses. The décor was simple but sophisticated, complemented by the same flowers that beautified the ceremony space.

The garden was stunning, reflecting the couple's desire to create a more private event, with only their closest loved ones in attendance. The significance of that day was not only a milestone for the couple but also a moment to share their love with those who truly mattered. Inside the mansion, preparations for the big moment were in full swing. Pepper was in the room getting ready when Iris and Erin entered, their eyes sparkling with excitement at seeing their mother nearly ready.

"Mommy, you look beautiful!" Iris exclaimed with a radiant smile.
"Yeah, Mommy, you look like a real princess!" Erin added, admiring the floral lace dress their redheaded mother was wearing.

Pepper smiled, touched by her daughters' affection. They were equally dazzling in their ballerina-style dresses, in a soft ivory shade.

"Thank you, my loves. You two look spectacular as well," she said, pulling the girls close and spinning them around.

Sasha, moved, stood at the doorframe, watching the scene with a proud look.

"They're right, sweetheart. You really are beautiful," the older woman said, her voice filled with approval.

"Thank you, Mom," Pepper replied with a grateful smile. "And where's Avery?"

"With Tony. He's a little nervous, so I thought it best to leave her with him."

"Nervous in the sense that this will be the best day of my life, or in the sense that there's still time to run?" Pepper asked, a bit apprehensive.

"The first one, dear," Sasha answered with a reassuring smile. "He's completely ready for this. And you?"

"Are you kidding? I've never been more ready," the redhead laughed nervously.

"Good, because it's time," her mother said, checking the clock.

"Now that you mention it, I'm starting to get a little nervous too."

"Trust me, once you see him at the altar, all the nerves will disappear," Sasha said with her usual confidence.

Pepper tried to hold on to that, taking a few deep breaths before starting her walk down the aisle. And her mother was right… The sight of Tony, emotional and eager, made all her anxious thoughts vanish. For both of them, that moment represented the fulfillment of a dream, the culmination of a journey filled with challenges and triumphs. They were about to become husband and wife, and the happiness they felt was beyond what anyone could imagine.

"Wow… you look…" Tony began, his voice faltering as he finally stood beside Pepper at the altar.

"Tony Stark at a loss for words? That's a first," she replied, a smile lighting up her face.

"Babe, I can't find the words to describe how beautiful you are right now," he confessed, gazing at her with admiration.

"And you're not looking too bad yourself, Stark. Definitely not something to throw away," the redhead teased, and Tony had to control himself not to lean in and kiss her right then.

Luckily for him, the officiant started the introduction shortly after, and midway through the ceremony, Avery was comfortably seated on the grass between her parents, refusing to be picked up by anyone else. A few moments later came the most anticipated part: the vows. Tony and Pepper prepared to exchange their promises of love.

"Remember what I told you when you proposed? If you make me cry, I won't forgive you," she warned, half-joking but with a serious look.

"I'm not sure I can promise that now…" he replied with a sheepish smile.

"Just don't mess it up," she said, trying to keep things light despite the emotion.

"I'm sorry, Pep, but I think I'm going to disappoint you because I didn't prepare any vows. How can I express the depth of my love for you? Or my dreams for our future? Or the fact that I'll fight for you every day? Words just can't convey that. They don't do it justice," Tony spoke sincerely. "Before I met you, my world revolved around one thing: myself! I liked things my way, until I met you. You taught me to trust, to let someone into my life, and you showed me what it means to truly fall in love. I thought I had everything I needed to be happy, but I had nothing to compare it to. Then you came along, and I realized how empty my world was without you, and that from now on, I wouldn't be happy unless you were by my side." He paused, took a deep breath, and continued. "Pep, when we met, my life became extraordinary. You've taught me more about myself than I ever thought possible. You are the joy in my heart. You're the last person I want to see when I close my eyes at night. I love you. I want to spend the rest of my life exploring the mystery that is you. I promise to love you, to be your friend, your partner in crime and in life, until death do us part. For the rest of the best time of our lives."

"I thought you didn't prepare any vows, but after everything you said, it's hard to believe that," Pepper said, wiping away a few stubborn tears. "Now you've put me in a tough spot because I need to live up to everything you just said."

"Babe, even if you didn't say a word, your look says it all," he commented, making her smile.

"I love you. I love you deeply. You make me the best person I could ever hope to be. You are so many things to me... You're this brilliant genius, the tough superhero, and at the same time, you're this hopeless romantic who takes my breath away. You're still mine when you're tired, stressed, or grumpy. When I feel your head on my shoulder at night, and I see you so calm and vulnerable. I love every one of these parts, and that's why I want to have you as my partner for the rest of my life. I look at you, and I see my best friend. Your energy and passion inspire me in ways I never imagined possible. Your inner beauty is so strong that I'm no longer afraid to be myself. I'm not afraid of anything. I never thought I would find someone to love who would love me unconditionally." She sighed. "When we were apart, I suffered immensely, but then I realized that even when separated, you were always with me, and you were always my soulmate. You give me purpose when I feel like I have none. Without you, my soul would be empty, my heart broken, and my being incomplete. I thank God every day for having you in my life, and I thank you for loving me. I want to live my life in the warmth of your smile and the strength of your embrace. I promise to love you and be your friend, your partner in crime and in life. Always."

By the end of the vows, not only were the couple's eyes filled with tears, but you could also hear a few guests discreetly sniffling.

"I bet a hundred dollars it's your mom," Tony joked, trying to lighten the mood.

"I'll bet another hundred that it's Natasha, and she's trying to cover it up by comforting my mom," Pepper replied, and the two laughed, glancing at the chairs with a knowing smile.

When they turned their attention back to each other, the smiles on their faces seemed to reflect a series of memories, like they were watching a movie of their lives together. It was as if they were reliving every important moment that had brought them there, feeling like it was all worth it. And indeed, at that moment, nothing else mattered. They were completely immersed in their own moment, ignoring the officiant who declared them husband and wife and gave permission for the kiss. The couple simply got lost in each other's gaze, and when their lips finally met, they forgot they were in front of an audience that was clapping and cheering.

After the ceremony, the night continued with a dazzling dinner, surrounded by friends and family. Kate and Happy, the couple's best man and maid of honor, gave a touching toast, praising the love and happiness radiating from Tony and Pepper. Sasha, Bruce, and Natasha also joined in the celebration with their own toasts, reinforcing how much the couple was loved and admired. Erin and Iris surprised everyone with a beautiful musical performance, while Avery, who had refused to leave her father's lap throughout the event, tried to imitate her sisters.

As the party unfolded and most of the guests began to say their goodbyes, Pepper stepped aside to watch her husband playing with their daughters in the garden. His smile, so genuine and bright, reflected the joy and love he felt for his family. The scene was so perfect that Potts lost herself for a moment in her own thoughts.

"Enjoying the view?" Sasha asked, approaching Pepper, noticing she was alone.

"They're beautiful, aren't they?" The woman replied, looking at the family with a happy smile. "I really got lucky, didn't I?"

"They're lucky too, my dear. Having you around is an invaluable gift for all of us," Sasha commented with a caring look.

"Thank you," she said, her tone sincere.

"A thank you? I was expecting something more along the lines of 'mom doesn't count.'"

"I just didn't want to spoil the mood," Pepper laughed. "But seriously, thank you for always being there. From the beginning. I wouldn't be here today, with any of the four, if you hadn't helped so much."

"Sweetie, you two always loved each other. In the end, everything would have turned out fine."

"But you made a big difference, especially with Erin and Iris... And after Tony and I got back together."

"I didn't do much after that," Sasha tried to brush it off.

"The talk with Tony at the hotel? At Christmas? All those hints you dropped? We both know you were practically a cupid."

"I just said what you two needed to hear. I didn't do much."

"You really love him, don't you? You never did anything like that for any other boyfriend of mine, not even back in school."

"I learned to love him by seeing how much you loved each other. With him, it was always different, Pep. But I must confess, it wasn't always like that."

"You had reservations too?"

"Yes, I knew him as Tony Stark, the womanizer, scoundrel, irresponsible. When I realized you were getting involved with him beyond professionally, I was really scared. I didn't want you to get hurt, to be just another one on his list..."

"What changed?"

"I got to know him better and realized how much he loved you. Eyes don't lie, Pep. I knew his feelings were real, but he wasn't ready to deal with them."

"I guess neither of us was really ready to handle what a relationship demanded of us at that time."

"Maybe, but I'm glad you found your way," Sasha commented, looking at her son-in-law and granddaughters. "By the way, I think it's time to leave you two alone," she added, noticing Tony was approaching.

Pepper nodded with a smile.

"Hello, love," Tony greeted his wife with a soft kiss on her lips. "Did I interrupt something?"

"No, not at all," she replied. "But what did you promise this time to get them to leave you alone for a few minutes?"

"What?" The man feigned innocence.

"Oh, please, we both know they wouldn't let you go without something in return," the redhead insisted with a playful look. The little ones could be quite persuasive when it came to having their father's company.

"It's our little secret," he replied with a mysterious smile.

"Chocolate pie for a week or a whole week without carrots?"

"Do you really think I'd let them gorge themselves on chocolate?"

Pepper didn't answer immediately.

"Relax, okay? This time, the deal was a week without that horrible green smoothie of yours," Tony said, winking at her.

"Horrible isn't exactly the word. It's delicious and very healthy."

"You have terrible taste!"

"Love, you're the one who only appreciates whiskey."

"And tequila..." Tony added, leaning in to kiss her neck as his fingers lightly trailed down her arms. "Remember that trip to Mexico? The tequila, the salt, the lime, our bodies entwined... I think we should go back there for our honeymoon."

"Nice try at changing the subject, but we can't just travel like that. Erin and Iris have school, and Avery isn't even a year old yet."

"We have plenty of babysitters available to take care of them."

"We can't take advantage of our friends like that."

"We could bring them with us."

"A family trip?"

"As long as you're mine at night, why not?"

"We can think about it, but tonight, I'm all yours," Pepper replied, her eyes shining seductively.

Tony smiled and pulled her into a long, passionate kiss. They were officially married, husband and wife.

It was just the beginning of an incredible journey.
