Chapter 17: Melody Returns
A young girl who was the same height as Misty frowned as she made her way through the deep forest that she had gotten lost in as the girl sighed. She had red hair going down opposite sides in the back and long bangs, as well as fair skin. Her clothes consisted of a green cap, yellow sunglasses, two necklaces with an orange or blue gem, a pink and blacktop, blue jeans with large leg cuffs, an orange belt, and cream sandals.
"Damn it, why did I listen to my sister and decide to visit Ash," she asked herself with a frown, reflecting on a conversation she had with her sister after hearing about Ash's recent travels through other regions. Along with the fact she had developed a crush on him ever since the events with Lawrence III, the Legendary Birds, and Lugia. "Then again, I'm pretty sure he has gotten closer to Misty since then, and who knows, maybe they might've gotten together."
A small blush crept onto her cheeks the moment she thought about her meeting with Ash and Misty; then again, she did find the young boy to be cute despite having a feeling the orange-haired girl with him also had a liking to him. "Okay, Melody now's not the time to think like that," she told herself, wanting to stay focused on the reason she even came here, and that was before learning about the growing infection spreading across the entire Pokémon World no less.
It did not take long before the girl named Melody by her friends and family then saw something speeding past her, and she turned around, only to see there was nothing was there. "I could've sworn that I've heard something," she said to herself with a frown as she examined the exact spot where she thought something or someone speed by her. She did not have any luck in finding out the identity of whatever it was, which caused her to give out a small sigh after a bit of searching like someone had been attempting to play a cruel prank on her.
After some more searching, Melody gave a small sigh as she took off her sunglasses and revealing her blue eyes in the process. "Well, there's nothing to be found here. Maybe I'm starting to hear things? I mean, being in this place is starting to get to me," she concluded upon eventually giving up on her search entirely as it seemed that her having gone to another region all by herself. Even if it was to check up on some old friends, maybe it wasn't such a good idea after all.
She frowned even more as she thought about turning back and heading home; unfortunately, that might be a problem if her home was long since infected entirely, which worried her. On the other hand, it's not like the boat that brought her here would still be at the docks that it arrived at anymore. "No, please, no!" she heard a female voice coming from the right, which immediately got her attention as it did not sound anything like Misty, that's for certain.
"What was that?"
The red-haired girl did not know what to make of this, but she knew whoever it was, they were in danger and needed some help right now. "I really must be out of my mind right now," she said to herself as she immediately headed off in the direction of whoever was crying out, praying that she was not too late to help them out, whoever they were.
As she ran towards where she heard the female voice, Melody could hear it again, but this time, it seemed like she was happy suddenly. "Ahh feels good," it's starting to make her wonder whether she's either slowly going crazy from being alone, or this infection she's heard about along the way when coming here might've had something to do with what's transpiring. Still, she started shivering more and more at the thought of potentially becoming infected since she lacked any protection.
"Okay, now I'm starting to get worried here," Melody said to herself, praying that it was not either a trick played on her or even a trap getting set up, but at the same time, she needed to make sure whoever cried out earlier was okay. Then there's the matter of Ash, Tracey, and Misty because part of her wanted to see if they were alright. It's more than ever before since this was the reason why she even came to this region in the first place.
Melody soon felt some chills going down her back and looked around the forest. "Okay, I don't like this," she said with a whisper as everything went silent.
"Ahh yes!" the female voice cried out from within the forest, and Melody knew that it was close to her.
Melody soon started to move where she could hear the moans coming from, but she was still concerned. "What is that?" Melody asked with some fear filling her body as she moved closer.
As Melody reached where the sound is coming from and what she noticed shocked her. "What the hell," Melody said with a whisper watching what's happening.
As right before Melody's eyes, the girl noticed two females kissing the other. However, that wasn't the only thing that Melody noticed from the two females. One was a young girl with bright red hair and had wings coming out from her back, and even her neck was longer.
"What the hell," Melody said with a whisper in her voice as she looked at what's happening. Melody continued to watch, unable to turn away from this.
The woman, from what Melody could tell, had transformed into a Charizard hybrid. Melody then noticed some green vines grabbing the Charizard girl's breasts as the hybrid cried out in pleasure. "What the hell," Melody said with a whisper.
Melody had no idea why they are doing this, but she noticed the torn clothes on the ground and frowned. "Hmm, I love you," the Charizard woman said with a grin, and Melody noticed an Ivysaur hybrid.
The Ivysaur hybrid giggled and kissed her lover back and soon looked in Melody's direction. "It seems someone is watching us my love," the Ivysaur woman said.
Melody was frozen in fear, hearing this with one thought running through her head. "I need to get out of here, I need to leave," Melody thought, backing away from the two.
"What the hell," Melody said; shock and confusion filled her face, still not knowing what's happening. "How the hell could something like this happen, what is happening?"
Melody started to back away from the sight, but she could hear the two girls giggling. "Do they know I'm here?" Melody thought as she frowned with fear.
As Melody started to move away, she felt something warp around her waist. "Huh?" Melody asked and then looked down to see the green vines.
"Now, where do you think you're going, my dear?" The Ivysaur hybrid said with a seductive smile.
The Charizard woman hugged her friend and lover as she looked at Melody with a grin. "Hmm, it seems that she has no idea what's happening."
"What are you?" Melody asked with fear. Melody still didn't know what had caused this, but the two hybrids smiled at the girl they had captured, knowing what will happen.
The two hybrids smiled as they looked at each other. "Hmm, it seems she doesn't know what's going on," the Charizard woman said, her attention to the Ivysaur girl.
Melody was still shocked and frozen in fear looking at the two females standing before her. The Ivysaur girl had brown hair and blue eyes, while the Charizard woman had blonde hair and green eyes.
Melody wanted to know what the two women are talking about, but it made her wonder if another threat to the world. "What are you two talking about?" Melody yelled after getting lost in the forest; she was both tired and hungry.
When the two heard this from Melody, it made both women smile. "Hmm, it seems that she doesn't know about the rebirth then," the Ivysaur woman said as she looked at Melody before turning her attention to the Charizard woman.
"What rebirth?" Melody asked; she had no idea what the two talked about with this rebirth, but it began to worry her. "What the hell does that even mean?"
The two hybrids looked at each other with loving smiles. "Aww, I think that this will be cute," the Charizard woman said as the Ivysaur woman nodded.
"What will be cute?" Melody asked, starting to grow tired of them not giving her answers. "I need to get out of here but who this freak has her vines around me," Melody thought, looking at the Ivysaur woman.
"Oh, you will become like us," the Ivysaur girl said with a giggle as she began to tell Melody what she has missed, thank to getting lost in the forest.
As Melody heard this, the girl began to wonder how many people had become infected. "No, is my sister okay, what about my friends," Melody thought, but she continued looking at the two hybrids.
"I can see your thinking about loved ones," the Charizard woman said with a smile, looking at the expression Melody has on her face. "Now, you don't have to worry, after you change you'll find them."
"You might even find a mate, maybe even a boy you might even like," The Ivysaur girl added as she looked at her mate. "I know I found mine. We've been friends for years but never told the other how we felt."
"Please just let me go," Melody said as the two looked at each other and laughed at what she wanted.
"I'm sorry, but that's something neither of us can do," the Ivysaur woman said, looking at Melody, knowing many other humans have said the same thing. "Can't you see we are building a new race, a better one?"
Soon the Ivysaur woman used her vines to tear Melody's clothes, leaving her now naked. "Ahh, oh no, you've torn apart my clothes!" Melody cried, her face turning red with embracement.
However, the other two hybrids smiled as they looked at Melody. "There we go, much better. All we need to do next is infect you with the virus, and then you'll transform into a hybrid like us," the Ivysaur woman said with a grin on her face.
"No you stay the hell away from me!" Melody yelled at the two hybrids, but all the two did was laugh, seeing it was pointless fighting it. "Stay away from me!"
"What's wrong? Don't you wanna be one of us?"
"I agree," added the Charizard woman, knowing that it's only a matter of time before the girl started changing her way of thinking soon enough. "Besides, the process wouldn't take that long, and it won't even hurt either."
The Ivysaur woman nodded back at her companion. "Indeed, and trust me we were starting to become bored but now that you're here, it's about to change," she said as she was once again looking down towards Melody, all while having a seductive expression on her face the more she thought about having a new mate with the two of them.
Melody didn't like this as she knew that they are planning something. "What do I do? What can I do?" Melody thought, but she closed her eyes, still hoping this was a dream.
Just then, a powerful attack which looked like an Aura Sphere came down and struck the Ivysaur woman and the Charizard woman before they could have their way with Melody, causing an explosion and knocking the poor girl back a bit in the ensuring process. "What was that?" she asked herself before she soon saw that it was a male that looked exactly like a mix between a human and a Lucario who appeared before her. "Oh, my god it's another one."
"Are you alright?" he asked, attempting to get closer to her, which made her even more worried than ever.
"Stay away from me!" she cried out in fear, believing that he wanted to do to her what the Ivysaur woman tried to do and started throwing dirt at him in the ensuring process, much to his dismay. After all, it brought back memories of the Sand Attack he received when he attempted to catch a Pidgey when he first started as a Trainer.
"Hey, cut it out! What are you doing, Melody?"
Upon hearing the voice say her name, she stopped almost immediately. She then realized something; that very same voice sounded familiar to her and soon felt rather embarrassed upon finally recognizing who it was. "Wait a minute, Ash?" she asked the young man, now covered from head to toe with dirt. "What in the hell is going on here anyway?! Why do you look like that, Ash?"
"It's a long story…" began Ash as he was busy getting all the dirt that Melody tossed onto him earlier off his body.
Although Ash was worried about Mallow since he previously told her and Bounsweet to flee into the forest while he was busy dealing with Jack earlier on, then again, Ash knew they didn't go that far. Hopefully, he'd be able to find them before something else went wrong, but at the same time, he never expected to see his friend from the Orange Islands all the way here in Kalos. "Now that I think about it, how are you in Kalos?"
Melody frowned, still shocked at the whole ordeal and the fact her friend, whom she had a crush on, was now completely different from what he used to be. "I'll explain later," she replied as she looked at Ash, wanting to make certain her eyes aren't playing tricks on her. "Still, you need to tell me about what's happened? I mean, why you and those women from earlier had been transformed all of a sudden."
Ash sighed, knowing that Melody had no idea what was happening, so he told her everything. "That's everything, Melody," Ash said, happy to see that she was okay.
Melody was shocked hearing this, thinking back to what the two women said. "So, they were telling the truth then?" Melody asked Ash, knowing what is happening to the world.
"Yeah, I have no idea what has caused this, but soon," Ash said but stopped as Melody looked at him. "Look, Melody, you need to leave and head back home," Ash said as he turned away.
"Huh, why Ash look? I'm sure someone is working on a cure, and I don't want to stay here all alone," Melody said, still scared from what the two women tried. "Damn I also need some clothes," Melody thought with a blush forming on her face.
"Melody I can't do that," Ash said, still having his back on her, and she was growing tired of this. "Please just leave while you can okay."
"What the hell, Ash, I mean you're going to leave me here all alone!" Melody yelled at Ash; she wanted to know why he was acting like this. "Tell me why you at least owe me that much."
"I need to go, Melody," Ash said as he could feel the primal desire start to fill his mind. "Go on Ash, mate with her," the voice said with a whisper.
"Hey!" Melody cried out, she can tell that something is wrong, and she wanted some answers. "I want to know why you are walking away like this!"

"Mallow, we can't do that," Ash said, looking at the girl, hating what had happened to her. "I'm sorry I failed you."
Mallow smiled as she looked at Ash and the new girl. "Well, I don't mind what I've become, Ash. Since I love my new form," Mallow said with a grin forming on her face.
"What are you saying?"
"Isn't it obvious?" asked Mallow as she continued glancing towards the two in question, not fazed by the question that the young man from Pallet Town."Besides, it'll be good to have mates of my own before anyone else arrived to claim you. Just saying"
It was then that Ash noticed something else, the Pokémon that Mallow had with her wasn't present, which made him worried. "Where's your Pokémon?" he asked, wanting to know about what became of the little Grass-Type that accompanied the greenette. "You didn't kill her, did you?"
"You mean Bounsweet?" said Mallow with a shrug, although at the same time, she couldn't help but understand why Ash would ask her that question given how the female Grass-Type was still her Pokémon regardless of being a hybrid or not. "Don't worry, she's fine, I asked her to wait for me while I went back to find you and trust me, I'm certain she would be happy to see that you're okay."
It was then that she decided to change the subject for the time being. "Still though, I wonder how you were able get past that hybrid you were fighting against earlier," she asked of Ash, remembering how
All Ash did was give a small sigh. "It's complicated," Ash said as he then reflected on the battle that he had against Jack along with how he wanted Mallow and Bounsweet to get away from that exact area while they still could.
Flashback
Ash, Mallow, and her Bounsweet watched in fear, seeing Jack flying in the air. "What is he doing?" Ash thought, making sure Mallow was safe from the Murkrow hybrid.
Mallow looked at Ash, still thankful that this hybrid had his human mind, but knew she wasn't safe. "I think we might make it," Mallow said with a smile on her face as she looked at Bounsweet.
Bounsweet nodded with a smile looking at Mallow. 'Yeah, we just need to get to the trees,' Bounsweet said, seeing the trees ahead. 'If we can get there, we should be safe from him,' Bounsweet said, hoping to reach the forest.
Ash continued to look at the two and remembered what he learned from his two friends and Jack. "Damn, Mallow, I think he wants to bite your Bounsweet so that she can infect you!" Ash cried out to her, making Mallow's face turn white.
Mallow didn't like that as she looked at her Bounsweet, seeing the same look of concern. 'Don't worry, Mallow. I won't do that to you.'
Ash nodded as he looked at Jack, seeing he can hold the Murkrow hybrid off to give Mallow the time she needed. "Okay, Mallow, run to the forest. I'll join you when I've dealt with him," Ash said, looking at the flying Jack.
Mallow looked at Ash, unsure about this but knew it was the only thing she could do without getting infected. Mallow and Bounsweet ran into the forest without thinking about it, hoping that Ash would join them soon.

Mallow smiled as she told Ash the rest from becoming infected and having her rebirth. "So, you see Ash, it's not all that bad," Mallow said as she continued to smile as she looked at the two. "So, what do you both say just give in and let the change happen," Mallow told Melody and Ash.
"No, Mallow, I can't do that," Ash said, knowing that he shouldn't have battled Jack, and then this wouldn't have happened to her. "I know that once a cure is at long last made for us, we can all go back to our normal lives."
Mallow sighed as she knew Ash still had his human mind the one that had infected her told her that many do keep their minds, well, for a while. "Ash, why keep fighting it?" Mallow asked as she looked at the Lucario hybrid and then Melody. "I mean, sooner or later, you'll join the rest of us."
Ash frowned hearing this from Mallow, and while he hated what the girl was telling him. Ash knew full well that Mallow was right in what she's telling him. "I can already feel my mind going, but how long do I have left?" Ash thought but knew he needs to keep fighting it. "I won't give in Mallow."
Mallow smiled as she noticed a female Pikachu acting odd and knew what was wrong with the Pokémon. "Oh I think I know what is happening with the little thing," Mallow thought, knowing it was time to infect Melody.
Mallow watched the female Pikachu wander around until it was close enough for her to attack Melody. "Come over here little one!"
Ash looked over, wondering who Mallow was calling until he saw the little Pikachu. "No, Mallow, don't do it!" Ash cried out, seeing what she was about to do.
Melody looks confused, but before she could ask, she felt something bite her leg. "Ahh get of me!" Melody cried out in pain, looking to see what had caused it, only to see a Pikachu biting her.
"No, hold on!" Ash cried out only to get tackled to the ground by Mallow, and the Lucario hybrid could see the lust building in her eyes.
"Sorry, Ash, but I can't let you do that," Mallow said, smiling as she looked at Ash and then turned to look at Melody. "Let's watch her transform okay, my dear mate."
"Get off me!" Melody cried as she shoved the crazed Pikachu off her; the female Pikachu growled before running away from her. "I don't feel so good," Melody said, holding her leg and feeling dizzy.
Melody cried out in pain as Mallow giggled, seeing the girl getting infected. "There we go, now all we need to do is watch Ash," Mallow said with a smile.

Ash only smiled as he wanted to focus on impregnating Melody first as he looked at Mallow. "Yes, and once I've impregnated Melody here; it's your turn Mallow."
"Hmm, I can't wait, since I want to become a mother Ash," Mallow said, smiling at the thought of becoming a mother.
Ash smiled, hearing this from Mallow, knowing that once he had finished with Melody, it would be her turn, and he could feel the burning lust building inside; he wanted to mate with Mallow. "You don't have to worry Mallow," Ash told her as he grunted, still having sex with Melody.
The Pikachu girl was now crying with pleasure. "Ahh, Pika, yes Ash harder!" Melody cried with joy with each thrust.
Ash continued to growl like a wild creature as he trusted harder into Melody as both hybrids moaned. "Melody, I'm..." Ash cried out before coming inside the Pikachu girl.
Sir Aaron and his Lucario were left in absolute shock, something that had not gone unnoticed from Sherry and Dawn. "What's wrong?" Sherry asked, becoming rather worried about Ash since he should have been back from the mission he went on by now.
"Damn it to hell, we should've seen this coming!"
"Saw what coming?" asked Dawn as she looked even more worried same with Sherry, knowing that something bad must have happened for the two spirits to show the look of dismay and realized it's only a matter of time before they suffered the same fate. "It's Ash, isn't it?"
'Yes, we've just sensed his human mind fading away and if we don't do something quickly. I fear it'll be lost forever with no means of restoring it,' explained Lucario via his telepathy, knowing this was something he and Sir Aaron had hoped would never happen. 'I don't even know what could've happened, or what led to it.'
"What?!" Dawn was left speechless same Sherry, knowing there needed to be something they could do to help Ash out before he fully lost his humanity. "We better go and help him fast!"
"That's right, go and help Ash!" came a voice that made the bluenette even more concerned, knowing it was a matter of time before it eventually caused her to start enjoying her new form too. "You know you want to be with him right now, and you just don't want to admit it."
"Dawn!" began a concerned Sherry, going towards her friend and prayed that she was alright as it looked like she was about ready to freak out right now. "Don't do this to us too, besides, we need you and Ash more than ever."
It was enough to calm the young girl from Sinnoh down. However, this still left Sherry, Sir Aaron, and Lucario worried since they still hadn't started the training just yet, which only amplified the problem that they currently had. "Listen, Dawn and I will head over to where Ash is located," suggested Sir Aaron, knowing it was for the best that Sherry stayed behind with Lucario, more so given that there were still girls with them who had already lost their humanity.
"Are you sure?" asked Sherry, looking at the deceased Aura Guardian as it was clear that this was considered crazy and that they could use some help. "I mean, Lucario and I can…."
"I know that you want to help, but in this case we can't risk both of you potentially losing your humanity," said Sir Aaron, wanting to make it clear that it's too dangerous at this point. "What matters is that you and Lucario remain here in case something else was to go wrong."
Sherry nodded as she watched the two leave and the Pachirisu girl sighed. "I hope they can help save Ash," Sherry said as the girl heard a giggle from behind her.
Sherry looked back to see it was May, and the Eevee girl had a happy smile on her face. "So, I heard that Ash is now like us, am I right?" May asked with hope in her voice.
Sherry didn't like this, knowing that May would head off with the others to ensure Ash didn't get his human mind back. "Damn I need to stop them from leaving," Sherry thought as she looked at May. The Eevee girl still had a smile on her face.
"Why stop her? Why not join her and the others," the voice whispered inside Sherry's head. "I mean, you have already had fun with Ash. You are even pregnant with his child," it whispered to the Pachirisu girl.
Sherry closed her eyes, not wanting to listen to the voice, but she is also worried about how soon she might lose her human mind. "I need to keep fighting this," Sherry thought but felt something hug her.
Sherry opened her eyes and saw it was none other than May. "Come on give in, to this new and wonderful life."
"No!" Sherry cried out, pushing May off her, and looked at the Eevee girl. "Look, I won't give in, and once we have found Ash and saved him we're going to make sure we never end up like you and the others," Sherry said, and she knew that May didn't like hearing this. "Please come back soon," Sherry thought, hoping Dawn and Sir Aaron can save Ash.
Meanwhile, Ash had finished mating with Mallow as both she and Melody smiled at their new mate, and Ash was smiling at them too. However, he knew that he still had other girls with their human minds, Dawn and Sherry. "I need to help them you two, they both need to know how great this feels the power, which our bodies have."
Melody nodded as she cuddled up to Ash with a content smile on her face. "Hmm, well I hope we can free them from their humanity," Melody said as she looked at Ash.
Mallow smiled as she agreed with the two, but she knew that Ash also wanted to find Misty. "But I know you want to do something else first don't you Ash?" Mallow asked with a smile, and she could see the smile also forming on Ash's face.
"Yes, I need to find Misty," Ash said, already thinking about mating with the girl, but he then looked at Mallow and Melody. "Who knows we could find other mates while looking for her."
The two girls giggled at this, and deep down, they hoped they could find more girls to infect. "Then what are we waiting for!" Melody cried as she got to her feet and smiled with joy. "Let's go and find Misty!"
"Who's Misty?"
Ash and Melody turned towards Mallow when she asked this, especially as they didn't blame her for not knowing who Misty was or what she's like as Mallow had not seen the girl. "She's a friend of ours, Ash travelled with her for quite some time prior to meeting me on Shamouti Island," the female hybrid told the greenette with a smile on her face. "You're going to love her, more so when she becomes our mate."
"Is that right?" Mallow asked, becoming even more curious than ever at meeting with Misty and was looking forward to hearing all about her from Ash once they departed to find her. "If that's the case, I really want to meet her in person."
Ash had a smile on his face, nodded; he wanted to find Misty. "Don't worry, Mallow, you'll get the chance to see Misty, and then the others who are my mates," Ash said, smiling at the thought of seeing the rest of his mates.
"What?! What do you mean you still haven't heard anything from Ash or the others?!" asked Gary as he was contacting his grandfather, Professor Oak, via the PokéGear and frowned, knowing the situation was far more serious than he originally thought. "Are you sure about this?!"
"Sadly, I've not heard anything from anyone ever since the infection began," Oak explained via the PokéGear, knowing that he had spoken with Brock at one point to inform him, Clemont, Bonnie, and Cilan about what transpired earlier on. "The only one who did contact me apart from Misty's sister was Brock himself."
Nearby, Zoey stood next to Gary's Umbreon and her Leafeon, both of which continued to keep watch, worried they might come across any of the infected residents in the area. "I see," said Gary with a frown, starting to wish that he found Ash by now and so far, neither of the two Trainers was having much luck, which was kind of ironic given how he used to have a head start on his former rival up until the Johto League Silver Conference. "Well, if you hear from them, let me know okay, Grandpa?"
"Okay."
"Hey, Gary!" came Zoey's voice as she felt that she would like to talk to Professor Oak since he might know of a means of restoring everyone who became infected back to their normal states. Especially her rival and close friend Dawn since she had heard that the bluenette wanted to take on the Wallace Cup in Johto, and Zoey wished she went there. Hence, she decided to check up on her there until things started taking a turn for the worse. "Mind if I talk with your grandfather?"
Gary turned towards the red-haired girl from the Sinnoh region with slight surprise. "Are you sure?" he asked, still having to admit that she was cute similar to his cheerleaders. However, he hoped they would be okay since they seemed upset that he lost to Ash at the Johto League and were even more shocked at his decision to become a Pokémon Researcher after the tournament came to an end.
"Yes, I'm sure and besides, I've never really got a chance to properly interact with the authority on Pokémon from the Kanto region," Zoey replied with a reassuring smile on her face, seeing the spiky-haired young man as a real cutie in her opinion. "Besides, we'll have our Pokémon as lookouts just in case the worse comes to it."
Gary nodded as he looked at Zoey and knew they needed to get back so they both could meet with his grandfather and work on this cure. "Yeah, I know the longer we stay out here, the higher chance we also could become infected," Gary said, knowing it was a risk to stay here longer than they should.
Zoey nodded the thought of becoming a hybrid, and then god knows what she would do when she and if she became one. "God just the thought that we could become one of those things," Zoey said, knowing what happens after getting infected.
Gary sighed and agreed with Zoey he had seen two people get infected. "Yeah, I saw what happens," Gary said as he remembered the moment that the male had finished transforming; he then infected the girl he was with, changing her.
"Then again from what we know others are looking for their mates, or family," Zoey added as she began to wonder what she would do if she got infected. "Who would I go after and try and mate with?" Zoey thought, but her eyes turned to Gary, who was looking around.
A blush was slowly starting to form on her face, thinking that she would want Gary to be her mate if she did indeed get infected. "Okay, I say tomorrow we head to a city still standing and we leave Kalos," Gary said, snapping Zoey from her thoughts.
Zoey nodded at Gary Kalos was lost, and other regions are trying the hold this infection back. "Yeah, we need to leave. I don't want to get infected," Zoey said as they heard a few twigs snapping from behind.
The two turned around, ready to face what was coming their way, but they also hoped that there wouldn't be too many hybrids. "Great, I thought we could get some rest," Gary said with a whisper.
Zoey nodded as the two looked around as she scowled. "We better watch out, who knows how many are heading this way," Zoey said, keeping her voice low.
Gary nodded and began looking around, seeing a fallen tree. "Good that can help us hide," Gary said as Zoey nodded, and the two ran to hide behind it.
"Let's hope this works," Zoey whispered to Gary, as they could hear a female voice off in the distance coming closer to them.
As they waited, the two humans noticed a Vaporeon hybrid and three Pokémon with her. "Okay, I need to stop Pikachu," the female Vaporeon said, and Zoey could tell she sounded tired.
"Wait, that sounds like Misty," Gary said, looking to a confused Zoey. "She's Ash's old friend," Gary said and looked up to see Misty was a hybrid. "Damn, they got her too."
"Yeah, but look at her something isn't right," Zoey said with a whisper as she looked to see Ash's Pikachu with her and a Bunneary and Glaceon. "Wait, I think that's one of my friends Pokémon with Ash's Pikachu."
Gary nodded as they watched Misty sitting down on a rock. "At least I got my bag," Misty said, hoping to call her sisters using her PokéGear. "Great it's broken," Misty said, putting it back in her bag.
'It will be alright Misty,' Pikachu told Misty with a smile sitting next to her as Misty turned and looked at Pikachu with a smile.
"Thanks, Pikachu. I think I needed to hear that. I mean, this is all messed up," Misty said, looking at her blue scaled hands, and she wasn't alone either.
'At least you still have your mind,' Glaceon said, seeing all the other hybrids that have met this far. 'We were worried that you also had succumbed to your new form.'
Misty smiled, knowing what Glaceon was talking about as she sighed, remembering the one that infected her. "Argh, I hated having to do that. Sorry I worried you three," Misty with disgust in her voice, knowing she had to play along.
'I agree, besides Pikachu hasn't fully recovered from earlier so it's best he stays out of battles until then,' added Buneary, both she and Glaceon needed to make certain that Pikachu's recovery goes without any more surprises since none of them had any means of healing him, whether it be healing items or otherwise. 'If anything, he might take a day at most before eventually being capable of helping us proper.'
Hearing the news from Buneary only caused Misty to frown, as the Vaporeon hybrid wished she could do something. However, no matter what she tried, nothing came to mind; Misty knew that she would soon become another threat sooner or later. "I just wish there was a way to put an end to this whole thing," she said silently, fearing the prospect of one day attacking the Pokémon in question and prayed to Arceus that would never happen.
However, as Misty was thinking about the whole ordeal, she began to hear a voice whisper in her ear. "Aww, now come on, my dear," it began making the Tomboyish Mermaid frown, having witnessed what transpired earlier on. "I think that you will love it once you embrace your new life."
However, Misty closed her eyes, blocking the voice out from her mind. "I won't listen to you. So leave me alone!" Misty mentally said to it, anger in her voice. Misty already had a lot to worry about without further complicating matters, especially after promising Pikachu, Glaceon, and Buneary not to make them think she was fully succumbing to it again.
The voice within Misty laughed at this, seeing how the Tomboyish Mermaid was still trying to fight this. "Oh, you're such a silly little girl. There is no fighting this. I mean, how long do you think you will last before eventually giving in?" it stated to her. "After all, you won't have to worry about running the gym for your sisters anymore if you accept your new self."
Misty's breathing became rapid as the voice kept taunting her, whispering that she and the Pokémon were hoping to accomplish, knowing it's all pointless. 'Misty...Misty.' Pikachu called out to his friend, becoming even more worried than ever when noticing the expression.
After a while, she seemed to have calmed down. "Damn it..." she muttered to herself as she thought that the voice would've won out by now, and this was something she didn't want to happen, more so when it came to the Pokémon that was currently with her. Not to mention Ash wouldn't forgive her should anything happen to Pikachu, who happened to be his starter and his best friend throughout his entire journey.
'Are you okay, Misty?'
Misty smiled as she nodded her head weakly. "Yeah, I'm okay sorry about that, Pikachu," Misty said, knowing that Pikachu was deeply worried. "I'll keep fighting what's happening to me, Pikachu."
'I hope Ash is still okay,' Pikachu said since he had no idea what will happen next, but he knew one thing.
"Wait, someone is here, and they are watching us," Misty said with a whisper as the Vaporeon girl began sniffing the air. "I can smell them, you three."
Glaceon began looking around, now picking up on the smell, but it was hard to tell if they are human or something else. 'Yeah, but I can't tell if it's a hybrid,' Glaceon said with fear as Pikachu moved closer to her.
Misty then sighed deeply, still worried it could be yet another male hybrid. "I think we better turn back," Misty whispered to the three Pokémon.
The three Pokémon nodded since none of them wanted to get caught up in a fight. All four started to back away, not sure where they could get attacked.
Gary and Zoey looked at each other. "I think that Misty still has her human mind," Gary said with a whisper towards Zoey as she nodded her head.
"Yeah, but Gary listen should we honestly talk to her? We have no idea how much longer she might last," Zoey says in a worrying tone.
Gary soon thought about it, as he knew that Zoey had a good point. "You're right, but we need to know for sure maybe this could be the chance we need to cure everyone."
Zoey only cursed under her breath. "I guess that you're right, Gary, but let's still watch out. We don't know if she'll infect the both of us."
Gary saw the points that Zoey made and nodded as he got to his feet. He could already see that Misty was getting ready to leave. "Misty, wait!" Gary cried out as he and Zoey watched as Misty stopped.
Misty looked back and saw Gary and another girl with the same color hair that she had. "Gary, what are you doing here?" Misty asked, shocked to see Ash's old rival was here.
Zoey looked at the Vaporeon girl and then at the Pokémon with her and smiled. "Hey, Buneary," Zoey smiled now, looking at her rivals and friends Pokémon.
Buneary smiled as she looked at Zoey. 'Hi Zoey, I'm happy that your okay,' Buneary said, happy to see someone she knows, but she wished that Dawn was still here.
Gary, for his part, was looking at Misty, seeing the frown on her face. "Are you still you?" Gary asked as he looked at the Vaporeon hybrid, who soon scoffed hearing this. "I'm only asking since I want to be safe."
"Do I look like the others?" Misty asked as she had a frown on her face, but she continued to look at Gary.
Gary only raised his arms and laughed, not wanting to get her angry as he had no idea what it would do. "Whoa, sorry there, it's like I said I don't want to get infected."
'Misty, please, come on we have to watch out still remember,' Pikachu said as he looked at his old friend. The yellow mouse hoped that seeing Gary and Zoey would be some good news.
Misty turned her head to look at Pikachu, and she nodded her head before looking at Gary. "Yeah, sorry about that, just too stressed right now," Misty told the two humans.
Zoey nodded, looking at Misty as she had seen a few water hybrids. "I guess it hurt?" Zoey asked as she watched Misty nod her head.
"Look, Misty," Gary began looking at the girl, hoping that if she came with them, she could also get cured. "If you come with us, my grandfather is working on a cure."
Misty began to think that maybe once she got cured, she and the others could do the same for many others. "But, what if there is none," Misty thought, knowing that there are other risks if she went with the two.
As Misty was thinking about what she should do, she soon heard the voice whisper once again. "Aww, come on, why do you have to go with them? Is it to become a weak human again?" the voice said with a low whisper.
"Why can't you leave me alone?" Misty asked the voice, but she knew it was pointless, as it wouldn't leave her alone. "What the hell are you anyway?"
The voice laughed as Misty looked at Gary and Zoey talking to each other. "Gary what if she loses her human mind?" Zoey asks as she looked at Misty.
"I am you, Misty," the voice said, and Misty wasn't sure if this was a lie. "I know that it's hard, but I am you, well I should say the new you that you have become."
"How, can you be me?" Misty asked the voice; by now, Misty started to worry that she had lost her mind.
However, the voice laughed, and it began speaking once again to Misty as he laughed. "You see, anyone that gets infected should enjoy their new form right away. However, for some like you and others who have their human mind. And for the ones who do have their human mind," the voice said as Misty was shocked hearing this.
"Oh yes, the virus everyone is infected with, as it unleashes your true desire. So you can say that I'm what your true self should have become when you got infected by that prick," the voice said with anger in its voice.
"Now why don't you go and infect them both," the voice told Misty as she looked at Gary and Zoey as the voice giggled a little. "After all, the human race is over Misty."
"No, I won't do it!" Misty thought knowing this was what the voice wanted and the last thing that she was going to do is give it what it wants.
"Oh, really Misty and why not infect them? Is it because they're your friends or is there another reason? And don't bother trying to hide it either, because you and I are exactly the same."
Gary and Zoey looked at Misty, and the two noticed that something was wrong with Misty, and it worried them greatly. "Misty, what's the matter?" Zoey asked as she looked at the hybrid.
"No, I'm not," Misty told the two as Pikachu looked at Misty; the yellow mouse Pokémon looked at her. "I'll soon become like the others who got infected by this virus. I keep hearing this damn voice in my head telling me to infect you both, so you'll become hybrids like me."
Gary and Zoey didn't like hearing this, but they were not going to leave Misty alone. "Misty, look we can still help you," Gary said as Misty began shaking her head.
"I'm not sure how long I have before I eventually succumb to the infection…" began Misty with a frown, hating what the voice had told her earlier on and especially when it came to Ash himself. Someone who she had hoped wouldn't do anything reckless since she's no longer able to travel with him due to her role in looking after the Cerulean Gym as its leader. "So, I want you to promise me something, if I ever attempt to try and infect either of you, get yourselves out no matter what and take the Pokémon with you as well."
"Wait, are you serious?!" asked Zoey as she looked at Misty in disbelief. "You can't expect us to leave you, especially like this… how do you think Ash would feel if it was the case?"
"Ash would understand where I'm getting at if he were here, please trust me on this."
Zoey was not sure what to say since this was her first time meeting the Tomboyish Mermaid. Well, and combined with the fact that she retained her human mind, she did balance out having to survive this whole hellish infection spreading throughout the entire Pokémon World. "Sorry Misty, but I have to agree with Zoey on this one," Gary told the orange-haired girl from Cerulean City, all while giving her a stern look. "Besides, my grandfather told me that he and the Professors from the other regions are currently working on a cure."
"Huh?" Misty asked Ash's former rival with slight surprise, and deep down, she hoped it was true so they would be able to help everyone who was infected and turned into hybrids. "When did they start working on it?"
"Not too long ago or at least, that's what my grandfather told me," Gary replied as he thought back to a previous conversation that he had with Oak and Tracey regarding what happened, and Gary could only hope there would be some more news regarding its progress. "So far it's going pretty well, however, I'm not sure how long it'll be until the cures ready nor do I know how many doses of it we'll be able to create."
The Vaporeon hybrid was relieved when hearing the news, although the part where Gary didn't know how long it would take for it to get finished or how much would need to get made raised her concerns once again. "I can only hope the Professors won't end up infected themselves," Misty said, showing a frown on her face. Then there's the matter of her sisters. Misty wondered what's happening back at the Cerulean Gym. Misty was worried since none of them were capable of leaving at all because of the pandemic.
"We hope so too," said Zoey as she knew that Gary previously talked with his grandfather not long before they found Misty and the three Pokémon that were present. However, something clicked into the back of her mind since she knew that the Glaceon with Pikachu, Buneary, and Misty felt just awfully familiar to her. "What's May? Is she with you?"
'No, she was infected just like Ash and Dawn were,' Glaceon answered for Misty, still visibly upset over what became of her human mother as things had been going well for them until the brown-haired girl from Hoenn had become infected.
The others are shocked to hear this as Misty sighed and nodded her head looking at Gary and Zoey. "Yeah, it's true this hybrid that infected me told me that Ash and Dawn are hybrids."
Glaceon nodded as she sighed. 'And I watched May changing into one,' Glaceon told the two humans.
Gary sighed as he knew that time was now against them, as Pikachu's ears soon picked something up and looked towards the sound. 'Something is coming our way,' Pikachu said, looking at Misty and then at Glaceon and Buneary.
Misty only frowned and sniffed the air. "Pikachu is right, hybrids are coming this way so we better leave," Misty said with a whisper at the two humans.
Gary and Zoey looked at each other as the two noticed the three Pokemon were now also picking up on something coming. "Then let's go!" Zoey cried but not so anything coming would hear her.
Gary nodded, hearing this and picked up everything that he could grab, and then looked at Misty with concern in his eyes. "Hey, you still coming with us?" Gary asked, not taking his eyes off the Vaporeon girl.
Misty nodded her head as she looked at Pikachu and the others, who hoped that Misty would come with them. "Okay, I'll come, for however long I can last before I lose my mind," Misty said as she looked at Gary and Zoey.
'Don't worry, Misty, we'll help you if you start to lose your mind,' Pikachu said with a smile on his face as the Vaporeon girl looked at Pikachu and nodded her head.
So, without the group wanting to say anything else to each other, the new group headed away from the approaching hybrids heading their way, not wanting to stay. Once they had all left the area, three hybrids showed up, the three smelling the ground and air.
The three Hybrids are none other than Ash Melody and Mallow. "Someone was here," Melody said as she sniffed the ground, as she then looked at Ash and Mallow. "It seems like two humans, three Pokemon, and a hybrid."
"Hmm, I don't see any destroyed clothes," Mallow said, looking around the area seeing that the two humans hadn't transformed into hybrids, as Mallow frowned before looking to Ash. "It means that this hybrid still has its human mind."
Ash frowned at this, but he didn't care. "Well, they will later give in," Ash said, looking at his two mates. Ash smiled, looking at the two as he heard the sound of flapping wings and watched Jack land before them.
"Well, it seems that you have joined us then?" Jack said, having a smile on his face as Ash nodded. "Well, good that you joined us then. I know that I have found a few other girls you know too Ash," Jack said, still having a smile on his face.
Ash was confused by what Jack was saying until he heard something from behind and looked back and smiled. "Hi Ash," three voices said simultaneously, and Ash saw it was Summer, Spring, and Autumn; all three Miltanks girls smiled.
A/N Okay, so sorry how long this took. I wanted this up this weekend, but thanks to Grammarly screwing me over, I needed to go and fix some past chapters AGAIN! I mean, make up your mind, you stupid site is it fixed or not, and yes, I could ask a beta reader, but fuck, they take forever, or they stop helping you.
