Some time after Shinnok was defeated by Raiden back in Mortal Kombat X, Dark Raiden now consumed by the amulet has been torturing Shinnok ever since. Shinnok laughs and said that he has been changed, and there's no way back now. Raiden strikes another lighting at Shinnok and told him to be silent.
Shinnok said why would he need to be silent, he is an Elder God. And then mocks him saying that not even him can kill an Elder God. Raiden says, that they are fates worse than deaths. Then Raiden takes Shinnok to a strange sea of blood. Raiden proceeds to say may the elder gods help you here, and then throws Shinnok in the sea of blood. Leaving him in an endless loop of falling into the sea.
Raiden then goes to Earthrealm, worried about what would happened if Liu Kang and Kitana could attacked Earthrealm. He calls Sonya Blade, saying that this is an important message that he needs to say. Sonya goes to where Raiden is.
Sonya Blade asked what happened, Raiden's response was "The NetherRealm." Then he explains that Liu Kang and Kitana might be wanting to attack Earthrealm and conquer it. Johnny Cage was also there, he proceed to say that if Liu Kang and Kitana wanted to attack Earthrealm, he would have done it by now.
Raiden said that they become silent after the events of the another Mortal Kombat. (MKX) So he proposed that they attack Netherrealm before Earthrealm is attacked.
Johnny was about to decline the proposal, but Sonya accepted. Saying that they might be doing the wrong thing, but he's right. NetherRealm has gone silent after the events of MKX.
So, Sonya called all of his soldiers including Cassie Cage and Jackie Briggs. And they go now to the NetherRealm in a portal done by Raiden himself. Raiden was keeping the demons busy with kombat. So Cassie, Jackie and Sonya could get to the tower and lower their defenses. Everything was going pretty okay. Until Liu Kang and Kitana came, saying that they have no rights to be in here.
Sonya moves away Cassie and Jackie, saying they're not ready yet. Sonya fights Kitana and Liu Kang alone. Sadly, it was one vs two. So Sonya falls in battle. Kitana was going to kill Sonya after. Cassie came in anger, telling them to stop hurting his mother. Kitana then makes a fatality to Cassie Cage. Cassie Cage is death. Sonya was in complete shock. Johnny Cage came in the scene and saw everything that happened now. Johnny was furious.
Johnny got a strange green aura in him. Then, he won a one vs two battle against Liu Kang and Kitana. Liu Kang was about to get furious, Kitana stops her saying that she needs our appearance. Johnny questioned who's she. But didn't question it that much due to his daughter being death.
Raiden came in and asked how everything went, Raiden seeing the situation now. He said that he died like a warrior. Johhny got furious and said that his daughter just died in front of his wife eyes. Then proceeds to say that he never got a family and that's why he doesn't know this feeling.
Time passed a little bit and Johnny Cage is comforting Sonya Blade.
