Another morning dawned in Etheria; three years had passed since the events of Horde Prime and the world was saved, making for a peaceful and tranquil day at Bright Moon Castle. Well, it was — originally.

The Queen of Bright Moon persistently searched for Adora's whereabouts as she called out for her from around every corner with the help of Bow, teleporting to locations that Glimmer figured she'd be at. The sooner they find her, the better. And with two people searching, it was bound for one of them to find her.

"She's not here either," Glimmer sighed disappointedly, noticing Adora's absence from her bedroom. Turning to Bow, who was approaching, the queen raised an eyebrow at her best friend. "Did you find her, Bow?"

Bow shook his head, "Nope. Still no Adora."

Glimmer frowned, arms crossed as a huff was let out. "Bummer. Guess it'll have to wait until she gets back..."

"Hm? What will have to wait?" Bow asked, curiously looking at her. Following the question, Bright Moon's queen turned her attention to him, blinking.

"Well," Glimmer started, "I wanted to show Adora something I did, or... At least tried to do."

Bow carefully observed Glimmer as she pulled a writren sheet of paper, accepting as it was handed to him before taking a closer look to inspect the paper. Admittedly, he was in awe.

"Whoa! You write songs?" His tone expressed amazement upon finishing his read, returning the lyrical sheet back to Glimmer with a smile. "I didn't know you could do that!"

"It doesn't have a tune yet..." An awkward laugh emitted from Glimmer, putting away the paper. "It's not finished, but it's supposed to be a surprise for Adora's birthday."

"So you wanna get Adora's opinion first, without telling her what it's actually for?"

Glimmer chuckled softly, giving a slight shrug as a gentle blush appeared on her cheeks. "Yeah, something like that."

"That's so sweet, Glimmer!" Bow happily stated, smiling broadly. "I'm sure Adora's going to love it!"

"I hope so, if only I could find her first though." The queen muttered, a soft blush on her cheeks though it wasn't visible. It wasn't long until Glimmer's head struck with another possibility. "Of course, she's probably be with the people of Bright Moon right now! How could I forget?!"

Today marked the day Etheria was rescued from the chaos caused by Horde Prime, resulting a celebratory festival was being held later in the evening - Etherians gathering for food, dancing, and laughter. It was only natural that Adora would be helping; everyone would want the heroine who saved them present. Glimmer quickly hugged Bow before she'd hurry to find the Princess of Power.

"I'll talk to you later, okay?" She responded with a broad smile, receiving a nod from Bow and a reciprocal smile. The queen, with excitement, immediately departed to find the blonde.

Adora, clad in her She-Ra attire, was helping out with the preparations of the festival for Bright Moon while interacting with the people who made conversation with her. It wasn't long before Glimmer found her, finishing a nearby task.

"Adora!"

The familiar voice reached Adora; blue eyes fixed on the approaching queen, before a smile touched the blonde warrior's lips with a twinkle in her eyes.

"Glimmer!"

She reverted to her original form as herself, greeting Glimmer with an embrace before pulling away. "Do you like the decorations?"

Glimmer carefully examined each decorative element, a subtle smile playing on her lips. "It looks amazing! I can't wait to see it tonight."

"Oh, that's not all! I was also working on a little something!" Adora exclaimed with a radiant smile illuminating her face, her evident pride catching Glimmer's interest.

"You were? What is it?"

"Oh, uh," Adora glanced back at the ongoing decorating, then turned back to face her best friend. "I'll have to show you in private."

"Ooh, something that can't be shared with everyone else, huh? I can teleport us to the courtyard then." Glimmer effortlessly accomplished this, purple shimmer enveloping both of the women, transporting them to the castle courtyard. "Okay then! Show me what you've been working on."

Adora nodded, a musical instrument appearing in hand, with a smile still plastered on her face. Glimmer's expression shifted to confusion - followed by intrigue, captivated by the golden acoustic guitar Adora now held. Remaining silent, the queen followed the blonde to a nearby bench shaded by a tree. She seated herself beside the Princess of Power, her gaze alternating between the guitar and Adora. A brief pause before the rich sound of the guitar filled the air.

Glimmer listened attentively as Adora began to hum. Her voice was soft, gentle, and yet it possessed a strength. A faint blush appeared on the sparkling pink and purple-haired woman's cheeks before leaving then. A smile was brought to her face, a pleasant chill to her spine as she listened to the talent Adora displayed; the initial surprise gave way to pure enjoyment on Glimmer.

The Queen of Bright Moon closed her eyes, listening to Adora's humming voice while slowly drifting into a state of relaxation. The atmosphere was serene, almost feeling as if nothing else mattered other than the two of them. The humming and guitar ceased, causing Glimmer to open her eyes and find Adora looking at her expectantly, as if seeking her opinion. As if she had heard the other woman speak, Glimmer gently shook her head to rid the dreamy feeling.

"What was that, Adora?" Glimmer finally asked after a few seconds.

Adora replied, now sounding a bit more clearer to the aware royal, "I asked, did you like it?"

"Oh! I loved it," Glimmer replied then, dusty pink eyes lit with curiosity, "Did you make that song up?"

Adora glanced the guitar, lightly playing with the strings of the instrument. "About a week ago, maybe?"

Glimmer's attention drew to the melodic implement, raising a brow. "And you play guitar? Since when?"

Adora let out a chuckle and looked at the instrument. "I'm a woman of talents, Glimmer."

The sparkly-haired queen tried to think of more to say and asked again, "Did you give it a title?"

Adora paused, frowning some, "Not really. I haven't thought of it yet."

Glimmer pondered on the melody she heard, a slight click of the tongue in thought. "If you'll allow a brief analysis from me... It sounded as if you were reflecting on your memories; maybe some heartbreaking and sad, yet it was okay in the end."

Adora listened attentively as Glimmer continued her analysis, hearing her voice soften. "In those moments, there was hope... Hope mixed with positive moments created those positive memories. And it's okay, because those moments and the people that you have in your life now, make it okay."

The blonde smiled faintly. "Huh... I think you just gave me an idea to title it, Glimmer."

Looking at Adora with a puzzled look, Glimmer tilted her head slightly. "Huh? I did?"

"Melody of Reflection," Adora hummed, a soft yet firm grip on the golden guitar, "How does that sound to you?"

Glimmer blinked, taking a moment to let the name sink in. "Melody of Reflection... I like it."

Adora donned a thoughtful expression, thinking some more with a gentle smile plastered on her features. "Your heart will sing with the song, unraveling memories of your own."

Glimmer stared at her friend for a moment before popping a question. "Can I hear you play again? I'd like to know if I unravel memories of my own."

A snort-laugh escaped Adora. "I'll completely move your heart."

She picked up her guitar and started playing again. Glimmer felt all sorts of old memories and feelings bubbling up — she couldn't quite figure it out, but something was definitely there. For now, though, she'd just listen to Adora's musical talent.

Melody of Reflection.

The queen found the title fitting, happy to have helped Adora find the name to her song. It wasn't long before Glimmer allowed herself to be moved by the music, softly humming along with Adora; although she didn't notice, Adora was smiling.
