Chapter Five: Ravenous "Darkness"
"This is interesting." Danny said looking at the data pad before him.
The scans taken of Sebastian revealed that he had the ATA gene.
Carrying the gene is what allowed people to use the Alteran/Lantean technology. Through time and evolution, the Alteran people developed special abilities thanks to the gene. When the Alteran people seeded world with their created versions of humans they turned the gene dormant. To die out with few even holding the trait for it.
During the time of the show only a few people had the trait.
According to the scan not only did Sebastian have the gene but it was active. Not as strong as a pure Alteran less than even a quarter but more than the humans he had found in other worlds he had scanned for safety precautions.
He wondered if that was the reason that he had those psychic gifts of his.
Could it be possible that the gene was the source behind the abilities of the psychics and if the answer was yes could it not be the same for the witches?
An unforeseen path of evolution? The Alterans/Lanteans developed superpowers while the humans of this world developed magic? Perhaps the people on this planet just describe their abilities as magic because of the time period.
They shared many of the same abilities and the only reason that he thought of them as a result of scientific evolution and mutation was that the original watched the show, and he had the memories of an advanced civilization.
Have they developed through versatility while their ancestors had understanding and power?
It was possible and because that many of them have been hunted down for witchcraft they decided to hide their abilities and ended their family lines.
He wanted to look into it further.
"I really want to study a witch now." Danny said as he ran his hands through his hair.
His contact orb broke his thoughts.
"My King we have found the creature." Kada said.
His data pad signaled that he had received a message.

(Pallen, France)
"Are you sure this is the correct cave?" Danny asked Kada while placing his hand on the rock.
He knew he was in the right area given the abandoned houses that Sebastian and Nostradamus had found.
At his speed it only took about ten minutes of flying from the royal castle before he found himself in front of the cave he sought.
"Yes, we are sure. The memories of the woman Olivia reveal the man you are hunting stays in this cave during the day." Kada said. "The B.I.R.D.S.''s vision also revealed that someone has been dragging human-sized bodies to this cave."
The B.I.R.D.S had the ability to see in different frequencies and different scales. From microscopic to macroscopic.
"The only problem is that there is a giant boulder blocking the entrance." Danny said.
That meant that the man behind this had strength higher than a baseline human if it could move the boulder whenever it went to get victims and remove it when it came back.
"Do you require reinforcements my king?" Kada asked.
"I doubt it, but I will go in through a duplicate so that you will not have to worry." Danny said creating four duplicates.
One to act through and three to defend him while he is doing this.
He placed his hand on the rock and traveled through it to the other side.
There is a high chance he is dealing with a vampire and exposing him to sunlight could wind up killing him.

'Impressive.' Danny thought as he looked at the rock from inside the cave. 'Something strong had to have done this.'
The rock that sealed the cave may have looked solid and whole on the outside but the other side in the cave is filled with holes the size of fingers. The fingers prints were lumped together in a pair of five. That meant that whoever had done this had done it single handed.
His hand's glow produced all the light that he needed.
"Who resides in this cave?" Danny called out as he walked through the cave.
His guard is up because nothing was going to be sneaking up behind him to try sneak up on him from behind. If the poor bastard even tried it was going to be in a world of pain.
There was a noise as his foot had stepped on a bone.
"It seems that people are not the only thing this beast likes to eat." Danny said looking at the dead corpse laying before his feet.
Looking at the bite marks on its neck he could see how the bear had died. As he put the clues together, he felt his eye beginning to twitch.
He stopped moving as he heard something start to move around him.
Heavy steps are echoing off the walls.
"How did you get in here?" The "Darkness" asked as it ran around the cave.
"I said the secret password." Danny said as he tried to focus on where the feet were moving. "Now I want you to come out and answer some questions I have questions for you."
With each second, he was getting better at it. He could almost tell exactly where the "Darkness" is.
"You have questions?" The "Darkness" asked with a chilling laugh. "Do you know who I am?"
"You are the beast that has been abducting villagers and drinking their blood." Danny said as he heard the sound of feet get closer and closer to him. "Convincing families to kill in your name and hang the victims from trees. I have come to put an end to this."
"Then you have chosen to face an early death." The "Darkness" said as it appeared behind him. "You do not have the power to stop me."
Danny twitched his finger and used telekinesis to send the beast flying away from him into a wall.
"The fact that you are saying that only proves your ignorance." Danny said.
"What are you? A witch?" The "Darkness" asked as he glared at him and rose up.
"No, I am something a lot more dangerous." Danny said looking at the red eyes and man with long teeth sharpened into fangs glaring at him. "You should give up. There is no way you are going to get the best of me."
"You are full of arrogance." The "Darkness" said as it rushed around him again. "I will enjoy telling the others what you tasted like."
Danny tapped the ground with his foot and transmuted the stone into a hard wall.
The "Darkness" had given everything into his jump and so could not be stopped from crashing into a wall.
"One of us may die but I very much doubt that is going to be me." Danny said looking through the wall at the body on the floor.
"You will regret that." The "Darkness" said standing up.
Danny teleported behind him and grabbed his arms pulling them backwards. "You think so?"
He gave him a kick to the back that sent him crashing through the wall.
"You will not make a fool of me." The "Darkness." said as he tried to claw his throat out.
"You talked about others." Danny asked moving out of the range of his claws. "Is there a nest of vampires behind this? What is your reason for doing all of this?"
"You will get nothing from me." The "Darkness" said as he tried to move back and gain distance.
Danny did not let that happen. He leaped at the "Darkness" and slammed his palm into his face.
The "Darkness" growled and started punching his hand through the cave floor.
"Are you trying to run away?" Danny taunted walking towards him. "I can tell that is the sanest decision you have made in a long time."
"Enjoy your jokes for the moment." The Darkness said picking up the small rocks into his hand. "Your people will weep after I am through with you."
Danny formed a barrier to protect him as the vampire started throwing the rocks at him so fast that if he were a baseball player, he would be world famous.
He raised his hand and lifted the vampire off of the ground again.
"I will get the information that I want but you can decide if the process will be painful or not." Danny said as he placed his hand on the sword of Telchak.
He was not too concerned about the vampire's pain as he could see that any pain that he felt disappeared shortly thereafter. He saw that all the bones that had broken were in the process of healing though the sound they made as they realigned gave him goosebumps.
It seemed this species had high pain tolerance and healing capabilities.
"Will you explain your plans?" Danny asked holding him in place midair.
"I will never betray the others." The "Darkness" promised. "Kill me if you must but know that when you do the stars will fall and plague shall sweep the land."
It seems like he is going to force his hand.
The "Darkness" was sent crashing into the walls of the cave for a good five minutes.
"I am not going to kill you. I still have so much to learn about your species." Danny said.
Also, he wanted to work out some issues that he had with the Wraith through this vampire.
"Get out of my head." The "Darkness" growled with hatred in his voice.
"You can sense the attack huh?" Danny asked as he began to use more power. "I warn you to not do that. Fighting me is going to take all the strength you have, and you will still lose."
"AAHHHH." The "Darkness" yelled in pain.
The sound echoed through the cave. He wondered if the others could hear it.
"I told you that you should not try and fight it." Danny said looking at his captive.
He had learned that Laurent is a recent member of The Strix. The Strix are the oldest and only vampire society on the planet. They were created by the Original Vampire Elijah Mikaelson and were now being led by his first sired vampire Tristan De Martel.
Laurent had joined the organization fifty years ago.
The purpose of Laurent being here is to cause fear and terror in the land of France. His actions were meant to be an explanation for the dead bodies through the country caused by other Strix vampires. If someone finds a random body bitten and drained of blood, they will blame the "Darkness".
A witch working in the Strix's coven had placed a spell on him that if he were to die it would unleash a plague to make his threats and prophecies seem to be true.
If Laurent could do this for a decade, he would be given a daylight ring which would allow him to walk during the day as if he was a normal man. It seems that he would not have to come up with a way for his new servants to survive during the day.
"Thanks for your help." Danny said to the vampire twisting its face in pain.
Laurent might have tried to hold his head with his hands if he had been able.
"The others will avenge me." Laurent repeated as he started to get up.
"Then all I have to do is take them out as well." Danny said.
Deciding that he had heard enough he twirled his hand and used telekinesis snap Laurent neck.
With vampire regeneration it was more like sending him to a nap than anything.
Danny released control of the duplicate.

"Kada." Danny contacted the Jaffa.
"What do you need my king?" Kada asked.
"Send an Al'kesh to pick me up." Danny said. "I have captured the target and I want to bring him back to the Jade Arrow."
"Where do you want us to place him?" Kada asked.
"When you send the Al'kesh departs I want you to prepare a cell for him on the second level of the prisons."
"As you command." Kada said.
"Kada, I also want you to go and activate the B.R.A.I.N. network for that cell." Danny said.
B.R.A.I.N. is an acronym. It stands for Biological Recollection and Index Nextwork. It is a technology that he developed once he studied the Halmush. It would allow him to access, copy, and store the memories of the individual in the cell. It had started as a way to tell the innocent from the guilty during trials.
"As you wish." Kada said.

(Jade Arrow, Mars)
"Ly'kta, J'Neri." Danny greeted the Jaffa that stood guard over the prison levels.
They had served him and Nirtti as his guards at the castle on Dinai. On Dinai he changed the guards every three years to prevent boredom, laziness, and so that it became difficult for an enemy to learn any of his secrets.
"My King." Ly'kta said as she greeted him. "Kada."
"I am here to bring in the prisoner." Danny said gesturing to Laurent that is lying on a hover board.
"Will you need reinforcement." J'Neri asked as she looked towards the stasis chip on Laurent.
Laurent had woken up while on Earth and so he had to break his neck again. Afterwards he placed the stasis chip to halt the healing process.
"I should be fine on my own." Danny said.
"As you command." Ly'kta said pressing the keys that lowered the energy barrier on the passageway that closed the prison levels off.
J'Neri pressed the button that unlocked the door.
Danny walked into the prison and listened as the imperial march began.
If there was any theme song to use for his arrival to the prison cells it was that. It was programmed to play the moment he stepped foot in this area of the ship.
"Should I place the prisoner in the cell?" Kada asked.
"There is no need." Danny said.
He used telekinesis to place Laurent inside and to remove his stasis chip.
The barrier activated while Laurent's healing started again.
"Where am I?" Laurent asked as sat up and tried to look around.
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you." Danny said gaining his attention. "All you have to know is that you have been captured and put in a cell."
His victims might say it is a better outcome than he deserved.
"You think I will tell you what you want if you torture me?" Laurent asked growling as he approached the barrier.
"There is no need to torture you for information." Danny said. "I find torture to be a waste with the tools that I have available."
"What?" Laurent asked.
"You do not need to worry about such things." Danny said.
"How should we treat him?" Kada asked.
"Do not bother feeding him." Danny said. "Starving him out may make him more agreeable."
The vampires of this world had many similarities to the Wraith. When a vampire was denied blood, they started to desiccate, and they enter into a sort of stasis. Unable to move, unable to use their psychic abilities.
He wanted to record the process and see how it actually happened. It could give him an idea of what to do if the Wraith ended up in this galaxy.
Though there are lots of other tests that needed to be conducted.
"My king." A Jaffa named Ze'tal called out as she walked to him.
"Yes?" Danny asked turning away from Laurent.
"We have found the temple you have been looking for my king." Ze'tal said.
"Already?" Danny asked.
"We have only done our duty." Ze'tal said. "We apologize for taking so long."
"You have done good work and send any other information send to my data pad." Danny said.
