Chapter Six: Warriors in the wild

"My King, I have brought the man you requested." Kada said as he entered the room.

"Hello Kada." Danny said as he looked up from the glowing map in front of him. "King Henry."

King Henry is clearly annoyed to be ordered about in his own castle, but he also knew that there was nothing that could be done about it at the moment.

The soldiers in the castle would never get close to him if it was not what he wanted. Even with a castle full of soldiers he had the ability to bring them to their knees with a thought.

"Is there something that you want?" King Henry asked annoyed.

"That is rather rude." Danny said. "This is what I get for cheering for you during your match?"

King Henry had won his match against Antoine and would move on to the next bracket.

"Do you have another demand for me?" King Henry asked.

"Yes. Starting tomorrow I have a task for you and Queen Catherine." Danny said. "I need the two of you to find me a witch."

"You want us to find you a witch?" King Henry asked.

"It should be an easy enough task." Danny said. "There are plenty of witch trials going on in the country. From what I have read Christians had been burning/drowning people for the crime of being a witch for a very long time."

He was being vague, but he was hoping that they found Delphine. She is the French witch that pretended to be a sister of the Catholic church as she traveled the country and healed the sick and the injured. She would have been Sebastian's love interest until she had been killed by Cristophe. A serial killer that Queen Catherine would have been blackmailed by.

"What do you need them for?" King Henry asked.

"You don't need to know." Danny said. "Let us call it a test. I want to see how well you and Queen Catherine can respond to a challenge of mine. Even just the lead on a witch would be fine."

"Do you not think you should be more subtle?" King Henry asked "The Pope will hear of this eventually. Bishop Bossuet has been inquiring about your men and whey they do not attend mass."

"You should warn the bishop that he should be careful." Danny said. "My warriors have spent their lives fighting those who serve different gods. I doubt the bishop's chances if they start something."

"If you hurt the bishop word will spread to the Pope and he will want to investigate." King Henry warned.

"I am not afraid of Rome or the Pope." Danny said. "If it come down to do it, I will deal with them."

He would have to burn the city down eventually.

"The Papal Army is not to be underestimated." King Henry warned him.

"Like I told your son I have more than enough weapons and soldiers to deal with any army." Danny said with a smile as he leaned on the table.

The hologram warped around his hands as they met the wooden surface.

"What is that?" King Henry asked looking at the table.

"This is a map." Danny said.

"I have never seen a map like this before." King Henry said putting his hand on the holographic image and watching as it moved through the image.

The King moved his hand back in surprise as if the map was a pot that had been held over a burning stove.

"Do not worry about it. I am just planning a little trip." Danny said.

"Will you require assistance?" King Henry asked worried.

Looking into his mind he could see that it was not so much about worry over his life as much as he was the only one who knew where the man's son was being held. If something happened to him then he would never know where he was.

He could also see that were waiting to try and find out where he is holding their son so he could send soldiers to try and get him back.

"I have enough men to assist me on the trip." Danny said. "You should be happy. I will be out of your way for the next few days."

"Where are you going?" King Henry asked.

"Honduras." Danny answered the man's question as he turned to look back down at the holographic projection.

"That is in the New World." King Henry said shocked and worried.

"Yes, it is." Danny said as he raised a hand and the image focused on the highest source of Naquadah in the area. "My people lost something a long time ago. I am just going to get it back."

If the B.I.R.D.S. are right this is where the temple where the ancient healing device is located.

In the hands of the uneducated and less advanced species it just led to madness and aggression.

Something the Goa'uld already expressed openly but there is a reason that he was going after it. If he and Nirtii could come to understand how it worked than they could improve life and medicine in his kingdom.

Nirtti's temples could help more of their servants throughout the kingdom.

"The journey would take months, and you may not survive." King Henry said.

"Relax, King Henry, everything will be fine." Danny said looking at the blinking red dot that signaled his target area. "Our story is nowhere close to being over."

He planned to take a Tel'Tak to Paris and then would be picked up by an Al'kesh to continue his trip.

"Wonderful." King Henry muttered.

"Yes." Danny answered as the viewing screen projected Nirrti's image.

"How are you doing beloved?" Nirrti asked him with a smile on her face as she sat on her golden throne.

"I am doing well." Danny said. "Right now, I am studying one of the native people I have captured from this planet."

"What is so exciting about them?" Nirrti asked.

"They are the descendants of my people." Danny said and watched as her eyes widened.

Nirrti like most of her kind were obsessed with what happened to the ones they referred to as "The Ancients".

"Do they also have abilities like yours?" Nirrti asked.

"Smaller in scale than what I can do but similar enough." Danny said. "How are things on your end?"

He had given her information that he had gotten from the Alteran repository of knowledge on Parsas. It is the planet name of the first repository found by SG-1.

It dealt with the creation of city-ships and creating massive amounts of energy.

He had taken this adventure because building something like that was going to take decades with the Jaffa at the level that Nirrti liked to keep them.

"Things are going as can be expected with the Jaffa." Nirrti said lifting a cup and eating the Dinai equivalent of a grape. "They need to be watched constantly, or they are going to make a mistake."

"Please try to be kind to them." Danny said.

"You still care too much for the Jaffa. They were created to be servants. If one breaks, we can replace them." Nirrti said.

"You know very well that I do not believe that." Danny said. "They work for me so that means they are mine. I do not like to lose what is mine."

"I so love to see your possessive side, but I did not call to discuss the Jaffa." Nirrti said.

"Is something the matter back on Dinai?" Danny asked.

Three hundred years of ruling over six planets in three different star systems had gotten to be a bit tedious and so he talked Nirrti into letting him explore.

He had been busy with finding empty planets and adding them to his kingdom. The number of planets a Goa'uld like Nirrti (ignoring exceptions and gifts by Ra) could rule was limited but that only mattered if they had people living on them.

Working on them is a separate matter.

For example, when he conquered Earth he planned on building colonies on Mercury through Pluto that would perform duties regarding farming, growing animals, and making clothes. That way even in the case of a plague there would be ways of bringing food and water.

He still remembered the plague that sent Atlantis fleeing from this galaxy and he did not want such an event to occur again.

"I am calling you to tell that I have been summoned to a meeting and want to bring you with me." Nirrti said.

"Who is going to be there?" Danny asked. "We both know that I cannot stand Zipacna or Marduk or Sobek."

It was not just their actions on the show that caused him to hate them. It was something about their faces as well. It made him want to just destroy them. The only reason he had yet to do so was because they were either too important or knew Goa'ulds that he did not want to mess with yet.

"It is Kali and Amaterasu." Nirrti said.

That caused his eyes to widen. The two of them are currently System Lords with hundreds of planets under their control.

"Why are they coming to you?" Danny asked.

Nirrti had long been out of the System Lords for her to be useful to them.

With the number of planets, they had under control it was not like they were a threat to them either.

"I do not know. That is why I want you here as protection." Nirrti said.

"Tell me when the date is, and I will be there." Danny promised.

"Thank you." Nirrti said before she ended the call.

"How long do you plan on watching me?" Danny asked to the room around him.

"Do you feel no hesitation? no regret?" His "aunt" Oma Desala or mother nature asked as she appeared in a flash of light.

She was his many times over ancestor but calling her aunt is easier.

Aunt Oma looked exactly like on the show.

A tall woman with peach skin and light blonde hair. She was wearing a white robe that covered her entire body.

This was not the first time he had run into his aunt or the other ascended after waking in this reality. After learning that the Goa'uld existed he tried reaching the planes of ascension. Not enough to ascend to a higher level of being but to gain some attention. He wanted to see how they would react with their whole vow of non-interference.

It turns out that they did not like him.

They felt that he was taking advantage of the less advanced species. Bringing chaos and misfortune to improve his life without giving anything positive back.

He had a feeling that they thought he was only a bit better than the Ori.

It was a worry of his that they would decide to do something about him even though he was just a mutation of a Lantean and not an ascended one. They might decide to one day just shove him off into another dimension and trap him there but for right now they were watching his actions.

It seriously annoyed him in the beginning. He could feel them watching every move he made. It was another one of the reasons that made him want to come to Earth. Merlin's weapon would come in handy if the lot of them ever decide to change their policy about intervention or he ever just felt like wiping them out and taking all the power for himself.

"You will have to be clear I do a lot of things that others would hold against me." Danny said as he floated a strawberry to his mouth.

"You kidnap the innocent and extort their family members, enslave sentient people, work with creatures that only know tyranny and cruelty." Aunt Oma said in a judgmental yet soft tone of voice.

She wanted him to see reason and accept that what he was doing was wrong.

"I will admit that your words hold some truth but if we are being honest most royal and nobles houses on this continent do something similar." Danny said.

Many countries were travelling to Africa and North/South America taking slaves, land, gold. They schemed and plotted against each other in an unending wheel. "These people are very similar to the Goa'uld except they do not have access to space. I can show you what is happening in what they declare New Spain."

"That is a very cynical take on these people." Aunt Oma said as she opened up a screen showing images of children laughing and playing. "These people..."

Aunt Oma began what was probably a large and planned speech about how wonderful the people of Earth were not knowing that he had memories full of Earth and what life was like.

He understood the good and bad parts of people. It was how he was created after all but that did not mean they did not have their uses.

"How do you feel about the vampires?" Danny asked Aunt Oma.

Who to his surprised actually frowned a bit.

During his time of observing the Earth from Dinai he had learned like in his universe that humans were not the only sentient species on the planet. Along with the vampires there were also werewolves and witches. They were not the result of a Goa'uld experiment because the Goa'uld were not the type to be modest. If they had the ability to create immortal hosts without the use of a sarcophagus, they would boast to all the others in an attempt to become a system lord.

"They were an accident." Aunt Oma said with an annoyed look in her eye.

It was rare for an ascended to get angry on a topic that was not concerning him, but Aunt Oma was more emotional than most of the ascended so if she had a problem with a species than that just made him curious.

"An accident on your part?" Danny asked.

Aunt Oma was more involved with the lives of the un-ascended than the others in this part of the galaxy. She had a temple on the planet Kheb where she helped people begin the process to ascend by spiritual means. So, since she had no problems helping others, she might have created this creature in an attempt to save lives. The result was clearly a mess and he wondered just how she could have made such a mistake.

"This was not a creation of mine. The vampire species was born out of a mother's love. Oma said. "It just ended up being a plague on this planet."

"The road to hell is paved with good intentions." Danny said and another bit of light dimmed in Aunt Oma's eyes as clearly started thinking about the past.

Danny just let the ascended woman think. Anubis was able to bring such chaos to the galaxy because of what she started. It was such a danger that it actually got the ascended to work together and intervene.

That is how much trouble the galaxy was in due to her good intentions.

Before he could even start to ask about the witches and the werewolves Aunt Oma vanished.

Looks like he was going to have to hunt some of them down to get some answers to his questions.

How were they created? Who was the first vampire? How were they connected with the witches/werewolves? what were there abilities?

Maybe he would give one of them as a gift for Nirtti.

His contact orb activated.

"Have we arrived" Danny asked.

"Yes, we have." Nadu confirmed.

His data pad activated showing a projection of the path he needed to take.

(Honduras, New Spain)

"?" A voice called out as they approached the village.

Danny looked up and saw a man standing atop the wall holding an arrow that he was ready to let loose if the need arose.

Who was he to let go of such a nice opportunity? Before the man could ask another question Danny pulled him towards him and his armored hand wrapped around the man's throat.

The bow and arrow fell to the ground and while the man was paralyzed, he went through his mind. Learning his language and seeing his memoires.

"What are you?" Seto asked him as he struggled to rise.

"The Spanish inquisition." Danny answered with a smile.

It is what he told his people to say when they questioned who attacked them. If there were any survivors to tell of the attack, then they would blame the Spanish. At a time like this when Spain was either attacking or conquering lands it would be easy to believe. Then Spain would have to deal with a massive army raging against them.

"What?" Seto asked not understanding what he meant.

"Nothing for you to worry about." Danny said before snapping the man's neck.

His body hit the ground a second later now that it no longer held a purpose.

As the body lay there, he could what looked to be his spirit rising.

'What?' Danny thought seeing something completely new.

Despite the centuries that he had lived he had seen nothing like this on any other world.

Then he saw holes in space opening. Other dimensions that only existed for the dead to reside in. There were three such holes. One is cold and distant, the second felt hot and gave off a feeling of terror, and the last gave off nothing. Whatever is on the other side beyond the portals is something that he could not sense. The cold and distant one closed first.

He watched as the spirit teleported away.

"My King?"

Time to get back on mission.

"It is nothing." Danny said as the ten Jaffa lined up ahead of him and prepared to fire at the huge wooden wall in front of them. "Jaffa Kree."

The Jaffa started firing through the door and causing explosions on the other side and probably sending a lot of people scattering. The villages warriors are probably fine so they could probably lead people away until it was safe for them to come back.

"Forward." Danny said as the Jaffa stood up and started marching past the rubble that used to stand in their way.

The moment they passed the rubble though was when arrows started flying down towards them. There were at least fifteen arrows in the first volley. It did not matter though as he rose a green shield to protect his Jaffa.

"Be prepared the people in this village are stronger and faster than the standard population on this planet." Danny said

According to the memories of Seto the warriors of the village are werewolves, but the Jaffa did not need to know of it to complete their mission. Their symbiotes made them stronger and their armor would keep them well protected.

"When you have them stunned place a stasis chip on them." Danny reminded.

"Yes King Daniel." The Jaffa said aiming their weapons and taking aim.

He was not here to wipe out the village. He had discussed with the Jaffa that they were to capture on-third of the village, kill one-third of the village, and let one-third of the village escape. He might give some of these villagers as a present to Nirtii.

She would probably like to study these humans that could shift between man and wolf.

The Jaffa went running in separate directions to accomplish their goal while he started walking straight ahead.

Any arrow that came near him was deflected and sent flying at their comrades.

Eventually they would learn that their arrows could not touch him.

The temple ahead was not built in the standard pyramid design of the Goa'uld. Instead, it looked to be more of a Mayan theme.

There were steps on each level of the rising temple, but they led to nowhere as there were no entrances. It looked like someone had cut square blocks out of the ground and started stacking them on top of each other until it reached the clouds. That must have meant the only way to access the inner sections was probably by Transportation Rings or some secret entrance.

He could wait for the Jaffa to finish their attack and scan the temple, but it was more than likely that Telchak had left traps in the temple to kill whoever thought of going for his treasures. Goa'ulds did not like sharing about as much as the loved power and treasure. A search by Jaffa or scans from a ship would probably activate a trap and set off a self-destruct or some other weapon to destroy the entire area.

Even after they were dead the Goa'ulds loved to deny their enemies anything.

"Step away from there outsider!" A voice yelled at him making him turn his head at the person running towards him with a knife in hand.

According to Seto's memories that was Mayushika. A warrior that traveled beyond the village so that they could eat meat.

"Go and fight my soldiers. You can at least hurt them." Danny said as he tossed the man with telekinesis.

"We will not let you steal the treasure inside." Mayushika said.

Shandor really had some reckless villagers.

"You are not going to stop me." Danny said and blasted a hole right through him. "Now that I know there is treasure just makes me want it more."

He turned back to the temple. "Lets us see if I can phase through the door."

His hand began to vibrate faster and faster until it turned to a blur. It passed through the solid wall without hesitation.

"Nadu." Danny contacted.

"Has something happened my king?" Nadu asked.

"I found a way into the temple" Danny said. "I am going ahead in now. Do your best to make sure no one comes in after me."

He took a step through the outer wall and found himself facing a giant hole when he came out on the other side.

Looking down he saw that the hole went down for miles and at the bottom were sharp wooden spikes stabbed through bodies. Some bodies were so old that they were just skeletons. Whatever clothes they had been wearing had long turned to dust. Look this pit was either a trap for people attempting to rob this place or for executions.

It might be both.

"Which way am I going to go now?" Danny asked as he stared down the stair structure and to the different passageways. "Guess I will just have to check everywhere."

Danny created five duplicates.

"Go."

He took a seat and watched as the duplicates each jumped to a different path. He planned on connecting with each duplicate so that he could see through their eyes and experience what the passageways contained.

0-0-0-0-0-0

(Duplicate 1)

"I hope there is something good at the end of this tunnel." Danny said as he landed on the passage.

He projected a light from his hand to see if there is any writing on the tunnel. That way even if this passage led to nothing if they found ancient stories then the original would consider it a win.

The walls told the story of Shandora and thanks to the memoires of Seto he could understand it.

Many centuries ago, when the gods (Goa'ulds) walked the earth, this village worshipped the brothers Telchak and Ach Pu.

Telchak is a mayan god of life

Ah Puch is a mayan god of death.

Ah Puch grew jealous as the people of Shandora prayed and paid tribute to Telchak to more than they did to him. Eventually Ach Pu cursed the village and placed a plague upon the villagers.

Among the infected villagers was Mousse. She had been the daughter of the village chief Kalgara and had been a favored subject of Telchak.

Telchak begged his brother to end the plague and release the woman he "loved" but Ach Pu denied his brother.

As villagers started to die Ach Pu visited the village. He had wanted the villagers to learn a lesson and declared if they wanted the plague to end, they had to perform a sacrifice.

The villagers that wanted the plague to end agreed to his terms and gathered slaves they had captured when their enemies came to raids.

Ah Puch did not want a meaningless sacrifice. Instead, he chose Kalgara's daughter Mousse.

Ah Puch wanted to hurt both the villagers and his brother.

The villagers were horrified and begged their god to choose someone else.

It failed Ah Puch remained determined.

The door closed behind him trapping him.

'Take the story to the grave huh.' Danny thought as he closed his eyes and sighed.

'Did you get all of that?' he thought back to the original

'Yes.' The original responded appearing next to him.

He opened them again to see if he could go further with x-ray vision and saw pipes carrying acid towards him.

'What should I do now' Danny thought looking to the original.

'I'll check.' The original thought before disappearing.

(Duplicate 2)

"So, the first duplicate passageway is a trap?" Danny asked.

'Yup." The original replied. 'Though it did have part of Telchak's story on the wall.'

"Which probably explains why this part here seems like a fragment." Danny said pointing to the wall.

Mousse decided that she would sacrifice herself and the villagers agreed to Ach Pu's terms

Telchak would accept no such term. He used his "divine knowledge" to bring Mousse back to life.

Ah Puch became wrathful at the violation of his domain.

Ah Puch put a curse upon the woman that had cheated death that drove her to madness.

Mousse eventually chose to return to the peace of death.

Telchak now separated from his "love" for eternity dedicated his life to making it so that he could help those near death live longer.

"Good story if kind of cliche" Danny said.

'It is not like the Goa'uld are the type to be nuanced. It is either their way or death' The original responded.

"Do you wonder which parts true and which parts are lies?" Danny asked as he turned left at the end of the hall and found himself at a dead end.

'That does not sound good.' The original thought as he saw a floor tile sinking lower heard than the others.

The sound of machine gears activating only made that feeling seem worse.

A giant slab of wood covered metal crashed to the floor.

"I hope the others are having better luck than I am." Danny said as he ran past the trap before it fell again.

'I will go and check.' The original said leaving.

(Duplicate 3)

"This tunnel is no good." Danny said to the original as he watched water fill into the room.

0-0-0-0-0-0

(Duplicate 4)

"Looks like I found something." Danny said to the original as turned solid and took a look at the room he is in.

There were many statues around him, but they were so old that it was hard to tell.

A part of him was tempted to transmute the ground into a bat and just start breaking things but he was here for other reasons. He was heading to the top of the temple to see if his prize was there.

'Maybe Telchak was lazy and wanted to keep his treasure at the top near his quarters. Make sure that it was never far out of his reach.' The original thought to him. 'Do you want the others to come and help you?'

"I am fine." Danny said. looking at the switch his food had just stepped on. "I have already made it this far on my own."

Two walls on the side of him came down revealing holes that were probably filled with arrows that may or may not be poisoned. They were not a problem because by the time they left their hole he had already blurred past the trap and watch as the walls just shot at each other.

"That is some truly nasty stuff." Danny said and watched as the stone walls began to melt from whatever poison had been laced on the arrows.

'If it stabbed into a baseline human, I doubt that they would last longer than ten minutes.' The original thought.

"Telchak must have really wanted his enemies to suffer." Danny said. "Let's see what else is here."

There had to be something that made all this effort worth the defense.

It did not take long for him to find something.

Or rather someone.

"Halt intruder." Raki said as she stood in front of him.

She is holding a long spear and glared at him with hatred.

"I think it is a little too late for that." Danny said as he looked at the werewolf in front of him.

How had she found him?

'Since Telchak had been dead way too long for these people to know him, they must have found some records of how to navigate the temple. It is probably how they managed to enter and find him so fast.'

"Why have you attacked us?" Raki asked him.

"This temple has something that I want, and I doubt you people would give it to me." Danny said.

'The people of Shandor are a brave lot.' The Original thought to him

It is true. They had terrible luck all around but they were brave. They would defend this village that they had called home for millennia.

"You will suffer for the pain you have brought to our home." Raki said before charging at him with a wide swing.

"Fine. Let's see what you can do." Danny said as he kneeled and put one hand on the ground.

As his hand rose so did a one-handed sword. At the edge of the hilt was a large circle with his initials carved into it. He put one hand behind his back and got ready for the fight.

"Witch." Raki growled at him.

"No but I am looking for one." Danny said. "If you tell me where to find one, I would be ever so grateful."

"The only thing I am going to give you is a painful death." Raki said as she charged at him again.

The original vanished leaving the two of them alone.

0-0-0-0-0-0

(Duplicate 5)

Danny gave a whistle as he looked at all the treasure around him. 'Looks like I am the one that found the treasure.'

Gold and jewels that were stacked in piles that led to the ceiling. Paintings and statues encrusted with jewels.

Standard stuff for situation like this but he never got tired of finding places like this.

"Stay where you are thief!" A voice yelled out.

Danny turned to see that it was Wyper son of the village chief. He was one of the fiercest warriors according to Seto's knowledge. He was also Raki's brother. Seto had looked up to Wyper but if Danny had to make a choice between siblings, he would choose Raki ten times out of ten.

Wyper had a lot of anger issues and he did not think it was because he is a werewolf.

"Walk away from here." Danny said as he spread his senses throughout the room. "You will live longer that way."

There is a high chance that this room was full of traps. One wrong move and it would be activated.

"You will not move one step further." Wyper said before taking out his weapon.

It was like he combined the spiky part of a Morningstar with a whip. Of course, the moment he pulled out the weapon is when the room started to shake.

Danny teleported all of the treasure to the ship the moment the room started shaking. He did not know what kind of trap had been activated but he was not going to allow it to take any of his prizes.

"What have you done?" Wyper asked him clearly getting ready to us his weapon.

"It does not concern you. What should concern you is whatever this trap is." Danny said as the temple walls started moving revealing two giant bodies.

These giants were over ten feet tall. Their faces were the kind that you would see on Halloween mask that people would wear in the twentieth/Twenty-first centuries. At the edge of their hands and feet were steel claws.

"Ah Puch?" Wyper called out in shock.

'What is this?' Danny asked.

'Telchak must have created these creatures so that whoever disturbed his tomb would awaken these defenders' The original though to him. 'No wonder he hated his brother if this is what he told people that he looked like.'

'They are most likely programmed to kill whoever reached this area' The original said.

"Good luck with all of this." Danny said watching as the eyes on the guardians began to glow red as they marched forward.

"Where are you going?" Wyper questioned him.

"I have already got what I wanted. I do not need to stay and fight these things." Danny said before looking at the original 'If you want to fight these things than you are more than welcome to it.'

He turned to mist.

(The original)

"Well, that was a surprise." Danny said as the last of his duplicate's memories came back to him.

"Is something the matter my king?" Nadu asked on the communicator.

"No. Just dealing with the last traps that Telchak had left behind in his temple." Danny said looking at the monstrous guardians that were now climbing the walls of the death pit to try and reach him.

The broken and disturbed rocks and dirt were falling down the dark hole.

"Do you need help?" Nadu asked.

"Not really. I am thinking of keeping them as toys." Danny said.

His other duplicates are already on the way to the treasure room to fight those simulacrum of Ah Puch.

It would be so cool to use them as tool when he went to conquer other worlds. It would just be a regular day for those people and then before they knew it giant demons fell from the sky shooting death lasers.

It would not be that hard all he had to do was connect with the programming that controlled them and change how they identified friend from foe. He saw that it worked when their laser eyes turned from red to green.

"How many prisoners have you managed to take?" Danny asked.

"We have captured eighty of them my king." Nadu answered.

'This vacation is turning out amazing.' Danny thought to himself.

He is going to take everything this world had to offer him.

Starting with what is inside this temple.
