Chapter Nine: The First Immortal
"Hello Lady Lola." Danny said.
This time when he appeared in her dreams, he found himself standing on a grassy field as she and her friends played a game similar to croquet.
"Again?" Lola asked.
"You don't sound happy to see me?" Danny asked watching as Greer hit the ball with the mallet.
"I would like to not worry about you being in my mind." Lola said.
"I just came because I have some questions." Danny said. "Queen Catherine had been worried about something when she came to see me."
"Yes, her son is being held by a pagan that might sacrifice him in some unnatural ritual." Lola defended.
"That only part of it." Danny said. "There is something else that she wants to avoid."
"What makes you think that I would know?" Lola asked hesitantly.
"I have no doubt that she told Queen Mary and I believe that Queen Mary would talk about it with you and her other ladies." Danny said.
"Even if I did know why I would tell you what my queen shared with me?" Lola asked.
"Think of it more as helping Queen Mary solve a problem." Danny said. "If I know the issue, I may be able to come up with a solution."
Lola sighed. "Very well. The Archduke of Bohemia is on his way to France."
"I know of him." Danny said.
In the show The Archduke of Bohemia Ferdinand had been visiting because archduke's trading vessel had been sunk by French ships and sent to the bottom of the sea. King Henry ended up sleeping with his sister Cecilia and due to his madness, he ended up tossing her out his window and to her death. Queen Catherine helped him cover up the crime and used Olivia's murder of a priest to create a scapegoat.
Now without Olivia there is a huge risk that France and Bohemia could end up in war.
"There was to be a dinner with the royal family when he arrived." Lola said. "With Francis missing it will be rather embarrassing."
"I can see how there is a problem." Danny said rubbing his chin with his fingers.
He snapped his fingers "Do not worry. I have a solution."
"You are going to release Francis?" Lola asked hopefully.
"Don't be ridiculous." Danny said. "I just need them to think that Prince/King Francis is in the castle over his sickness."
"The "sickness" that you invented." Lola reminded sarcastically.
"Exactly." Danny said. "Well thanks for the information."
He pulled himself out of the dream.
Danny took the Helmash off of his head and placed it on the table.

(Royal Castle, France, July, 1558)
Danny could hear the sound of rain as it hit the ground outside the castle.
It had been almost a month since he started living in the castle.
"Hello My Lord." A voice said to him gaining his attention.
She is a tall woman with long blonde hair and a dress that drew attention to her chest. He remembered her through Vlad's memories. Lady Gabrielle is one of Queen Catherine's Ladies-in-waiting. They are called the Flying Squad. Their role was to seduce men for their secrets and report their findings to Queen Catherine.
"I was just wondering where you were going and if I could join you?" She asked as she put her hands behind her back.
She had a smile on her face, but he could sense her nervousness. Just like the rain pouring outside he could hear the beat of her heart and it was pounding like a rabbit running being chased on a dog track.
He looked into her mind and saw that Lady Gabrielle had been sent by Queen Catherine to get close to him. To find out where his ship that held her son hostage her son was.
"If Queen Catherine wants to see her son so badly then tell her that all she has to do is find me a witch." Danny said.
The king and queen so far had been very unlucky in this regard. All the people they brought before him are simple villagers sacrificed by their neighbors for some gold or because of some grudge. For an age that was known for its witch hunts these people were very bad at finding actual witches.
"I do not know what you are talking about." Lady Gabrielle said.
"Very well." Danny said as he continued his walk.
She would probably regret that she asked to follow him, but he would let her discover that on her own.

He eventually saw Queen Mary and her ladies sitting at a table. That seemed like as good a place as any to sit.
"Hello ladies would you mind if we joined you?" Danny asked as walked over to their table.
"There are not enough chairs." Kenna said.
"That is fine Lady Livingston." Danny said as he tapped the floor with his foot. "I can create my own."
"You ask questions, but you only ever accept your preferred answer." Queen Mary said with a sigh. "They are less questions and more demands."
"Sometimes they choose the wrong answer." Danny said pulling out a deck of Uno cards from his satchel. "How about we stay nice and calm and play a game of Uno."
"How do we play?" Lady Kenna asked him.
He gave the group instructions.
"Where did you learn of such a game?" Lady Greer asked him.
"I invented the game." Danny said lying without a care.
No one could prove anything he said was a lie as the game would not have been invented until the 1900s.
"You must have a lot of time on your hands when you are not kidnapping people." Queen Mary said as she placed a blue four on the table.
The turns started with him then Lady Lola after her it was Lady Gabrielle followed by Queen Mary and finally Lady Kenna.
"I am a very good multitasker." Danny said. "You have to be with the amount of land that I rule."
Since the moment he had teamed up with Nirrti and was named king of Dinai he had been focused on making sure that his empire was protected from any that would to bring it harm. This universe was full of beings that would see his worlds burn and try to gain the knowledge he had. There was Anubis, The Wraith, The Ori, The Replicators and so much that he could be unaware of.
He had spent the next three hundred years conquering six planets in three different systems. He had explored all the continents so that his people would not have to worry about issues with the land.
The number of planets a Goa'uld like Nirrti (ignoring exceptions and gifts by Ra) could rule was limited but that only mattered if they had people living on them.
Working was a separate matter.
For example, when he conquered Earth, he planned on building colonies on Mercury through Pluto that would perform duties regarding farming, growing animals, and making clothes. That way even in the case of a plague there would be ways of bringing food and water.
He may have had to conquer other worlds and turn other in their systems into colonies, but he tried to make sure that his people were safe and cared for.
"What land are you from?" Queen Mary asked. "You claim to be a king, but no one had ever heard of you before you took Francis and I hostage."
"That is a complicated question, Queen Mary." Danny said as he put his cards face down and looked at the group before him. "You know tales of the land my people come from. You know of the land my soldiers' ancestors come from. Beyond that though is where the tale gets complicated.".
They stared at him nervously because his eyes had started glowing the more, he talked and thought about the Lantean city-ship that was remembered here as Atlantis.
It may have been a long time since he woke and even longer when the Lantean city-ship fell, and he entered hibernation in the ghost zone, but it still hurt to think about.
"Are you alright?" Lady Kenna asked.
She felt concerned and nervous about what was going on as she is a devout Catholic and he was an admitted pagan with powers beyond her understanding.
"I will be fine in a minute. You servant bring me and the woman some wine." Danny said as he pointed at Leith.
He felt bad about what happened to Leith's love life but that would not stop him from snapping the young man's neck if he hesitated in confusion any longer. He had a starving vampire on the ship and there were plenty of experiments he had wanted to perform. The only reason he had yet to do so was that nobody had annoyed him enough.
"Right away milord." Leith said as he went to the table where wine was being stored.
"Thank you." Danny said taking the wine from Leith.
He transmuted to cleanse it of any possible poisonings.
"I believe that you will enjoy the wine." Lady Gabrielle said. "It comes from one of King Henry's favorite vineyards from Champagne."
"If it is as good as you say I may have King Henry give me a tour of it later on." Danny said.
"It is time." Qetsiyah said appearing behind Queen Mary.
"It seems I shall not be able to taste it tonight." Danny said standing up.
"What is the matter?" Lady Gabrielle asked.
"I have made a deal with a spirit and now she wants me to uphold my end." Danny said. "I will see you all tomorrow."

"Where are we going?" Danny asked Qetsiyah as he picked up his sword.
There is a death glider waiting atop the roof of the castle.
Qetsiyah warned him that Silas had incredible psychic abilities greater than any vampire on the planet. Once you were on his island, he just had to sense your mind and he would be able to reach you. It is how he spread his legend.
It made sense. if Laurent was barely capable of speaking and moved slower while being starved for a few weeks, then Silas who was being starved for over a thousand years besides a few drops of blood must be near frozen.
So, he decided to go on his own to prevent him from messing with the minds of his Jaffa.
In return for his killing of Silas Qetsiyah promised him the knowledge of the Other Side. She as the creator of that alternate dimension could tap into the knowledge held by those that resided inside her purgatory. He would take that information from her and then form a database of all that knowledge.
The baseline humans may have forgotten a lot of their history, but the spirits watched, and they remembered. They may not know a lot individually but altogether hopefully it was a different story.
Not to mention Qetsiyah was going to do a locator spell to locate Setesh for him. No matter where he hid, he had her guarantee that her spells would find him. She just needed something connected to him.
Luckily, he had two siblings of his waiting on the ship.
"Here." Qetsiyah said placing her hands on his head while she started chanting.
Instead of the calm and peaceful method that his psychic invasion usually had he could feel like an electric knife was stabbing him through his head.
"I can read your mind a lot less painfully." Danny said with a grimace.
If he was not what he was then he probably would have crashed this death glider killing himself in a fiery explosion.
"No. I hate psychics, and I refuse to let anyone inside of my head." Qetsiyah said. "This is better."
He had a feeling that there was something that she was keeping from him and that was why she did not want him in her head. It was not like he was not used to dealing with people keeping secrets from him. Most deals he was involved with contained one group keeping secrets from the other. That is why he tried to know all of the secrets of those involved.
"That was annoying." Danny said shaking his head free of Qetsiyah's hands.
Now he knew he was going a few hundred miles off of where Nova Scotia would one day be.
Qetsiyah had been really determined on making sure nobody found this guy.
"How physically strong is this Silas guy?" Danny asked.
"Beyond his psychic abilities and immortality, he is about as strong as your average mortal." Qetsiyah said.
"Alright should only take me less than hour to deal with this." Danny said as he brought the death glider in for a landing in an area of only rocks above a cavern.

"We're here." Danny said as he took the death glider down to the island.
"I cannot believe it is finally happening." Qetsiyah muttered.
He turned and watched a smile grew on her face.
"Well, I can believe the pain I felt was plenty real. So, let's finish this already." Danny said as he parked the death glider.
"Lead the way." Dany said as he and Qetsiyah floated to the entrance of the cave.
He combined pyrokinesis and telekinesis to create floating green flames so that he could see where he was walking.
"The tomb is directly below us." Qetsiyah said as she stopped in front of him.
"Then Let's go below." Danny said as he created a hole in the ground and floated the rock to the side. They floated down through the hole and there, they found the tomb.
He could see the door is barred with a sort of force field that gave off some sort of dark energy.
"What is that?" Danny asked. "How did you make this?"
Due to his empathic abilities, he could sense intense feeling of hatred, anger, envy, and bitterness.
"I created this to make sure that he could never walk away." Qetsiyah said. "To do so I had to use dark powers and touch places I would rather not think upon."
He would definitely come back to it later.
Qetsiyah held out her hand and started chanting in another language. He could feel the power in she was channeling in the reaction the cave was displaying.
The cave was shaking so much he wondered if it was in danger of caving in, the stalactites fell to the ground and shattered, the wind grew colder and started flowing faster around him to the point he saw scars being formed in the rocks around them. The puddles around them were ignoring gravity and rising up to the ceiling.
He really wanted to study a living witch to learn the difference between Qetsiyah and them.
A few minutes later the spell guarding Silas broke and the area returned to what it was before Qetsiyah started chanting.
"Who are you?" The voice of Silas rang through his mind even though the body before them was not capable of moving.
He could feel Silas trying to get into his head. To see who he was working with but it was easy to keep him stuck at the surface of his mind so they could talk.
"I have come to kill you, Silas." Danny said.
"Qetsiyah must have sent you." Silas said forming an image of himself.
He tried to make himself look like a monster. "You must help me. This agony Qetsiyah left me in is a punishment no one should have to endure."
"You deserve everything you have gotten." Qetsiyah said to him.
"You will not be able to trick me. I am a pretty good psychic and Qetsiyah is here watching as well." Danny said sensing the illusion.
"She always did know how to ruin someone's fun." Silas said taking another form.
He was five foot eleven with brown hair and green eyes.
Given his handsome face he could see why Qestiyah would fall for his lies.
"Is this his true form?" Danny asked Qetsiyah.
"Yes. That is his true face." Qetsiyah said. "The one he wore when he told me he wanted to marry me."
"It has been centuries since then. When are you going to let it go? Have I not suffered enough? When will this end?" Silas asked getting angrier with each sentence.
"Never." Qetsiyah said "If you want it to end then you should have taken the cure."
"And spend eternity with you?" Silas asked. "That would just be trading one torment for another."
"How dare you." Qetsiyah said.
"I am going to end this before it gets even more awkward." Danny said walking closer to the tomb.
"Whatever deal you made he would just break it." Qetsiyah said. "The cure is in his hands."
"You do not have to do this." Silas begged "Let me go and we can work out a deal."
Danny walked closer to the hands that were holding the box that held the cure in it.
"I am sorry, but I already promised Qetsiyah." Danny said as he phased the box out of Silas' hands.
"Qetsiyah may act like she is the victim in this story of ours, but I bet she has not told you everything." Silas roared.
"Have some dignity in your last moments alive." Qetsiyah said with an intense look in her eyes.
He opened it and found the red liquid suspended in a crystal vial.
"Now pour it down his throat." Qetsiyah said.
"Stop. You cannot do this." Silas said trying to plead for his life. "I will be trapped for the rest of eternity without my true love."
"Sucks to be you." Danny said using his ability to transmute the ground into a cup atop a pillar.
He poured the cure into the cup and tilted it so that it fell down Silas's throat and he watched as Silas' skin began to regain color as he turned from an immortal back to a mortal witch. He had learned from Laurent's lesson that a witch lost their ability to do magic if they are turned into a vampire. The transformation somehow blocked the ata gene.
Seemed like a terrible deal.
"You will regret that." Silas said as he started to rise.
"No, I won't. Now is the time that you die." Danny said as he used telekinesis to bind Silas to the wall.
He used the same power to lift the sword of Telchak at his side sent it flying at him.
The blade caused Silas to widen his eyes in surprise as it stabbed down into him causing the physical death of the world's first immortal man.
He watched as the man's soul appeared before him.
"No!" Silas yelled.
"Hello Silas." Qetsiyah said looking at him. "I believe it is time for us to have a long overdue chat."
The same portal opened from when he killed Seto and it took Silas away.
"I held up my end of my deal." Danny said.
He could feel Qetsiyah's contentment at the death of her former lover.
"And in return I will hold up mine." Qetsiyah said with a relaxed posture and happy eyes. "All the knowledge the Other Side has and help locating your target."
