Chapter Eleven: Secret City
He sensed an intense feeling of anger towards him.
"What is the problem, Lady Kenna?" Danny asked as he turned from the carriage with the Archduke and the duplicate pretending to be Prince/King Francis.
"You are a monster." Kenna said glaring at him.
"Hurtful but what gave you that opinion?" Danny asked as they made their way back to the interior of the castle.
The servants are moving about the castle using the time to set up a grand party tonight for King Henry and the Archduke Ferdinand. He wanted to do something for this celebration as well. Perhaps something with music.
All great feasts needed great music.
"I heard that you have abducted Sebastian as well." Kenna said.
He looked into her mind to see who told her that information.
(Flashback Begins)
"The guards told me that you wanted to speak to me." Kenna said as she stood in King Henry's chambers.
"We can no longer be together Lady Kenna." King Henry said as he looked out his room windows.
"What do you mean?" Kenna asked. "You said that you would help me find a husband in court."
"The sorcerer is forcing me to end our relationship." King Henry said.
"You aren't the type of man to let others tell him what to do." Kenna said.
"He has taken Sebastian as well. I fear what is going to happen to them if I do not do as he says." King Henry said turning to her.
"Is there nothing that we can do?" Kenna asked.
"Not at this moment." King Henry said as he walked to her. "He has weapons beyond belief. We can only hope to try and gain some advantage over him but that will take time."
(Flashback Ends)
He hid a scowl as he saw the scene.
'Great job King Henry.' Danny thought with annoyance.
He had wondered what stupid thing the King of France would do to annoy him. He had expected it to be secret letters to the Vatican. Some attempt to raise an army and steal back his son or kill his Jaffa. Instead, he had told Kenna and got her angry with him.
The King was going suffer for this.
"You do not understand Lady Kenna." Danny said as he held her hands.
He used their connection to increase her feelings of trust and patience towards him. The only problem is that is temporary and depends on the individual. It is why he wanted the Nish'ta. Total loyalty that would not disperse with distance.
"I had to do something. Letting King Henry continue his path would have only ended terrible for you and those around you." Danny said.
"What do you mean?" Lady Kenna asked him.
Her anger was fighting him, but her curiosity was piqued and that was helping him along as he held her hands.
"I told Queen Mary that I could help her take England. I want to help her because I have the seen the path her life takes without my help. My gifts allow me this knowledge." Danny said mixing a bit of the truth and a lie together. "I can see your fate as well. Your romance with King Henry only ends in misery. You thought that by Queen Catherine getting rid of Diane would help you. It has only placed you in more danger."
"What do you mean?" Kenna asked surprised and trying to move backwards.
In the original timeline Kenna had told Queen Catherine that Dianne had been trying to get Sebastian legitimized. Queen Catherine made a deal with Diane that in exchange for her life that she would leave the castle. Queen Catherine however had seen the dangers that Kenna posed to her and requested Diane to kill her before she left to save her the time.
For some reason she decided not to.
"King Henry is sick and he is only going to get worse." Danny said.
"You cannot be serious?" Kenna asked as she tried to remove her hands from his.
She had doubts and that is what he focused on.
"Let me show you." Danny said as he put his hands on Kenna's head and brought her into his head to see his memories of the show.
"What are we doing in the King's chamber?" Kenna asked looking at him.
"Look at the bed." Danny said as he turned Kenna around to see what remained of the King's lover Anna.
Anna is a prostitute that had been hired by the king. The three of them had spent the night together.
"What in the world?" Kenna asked horrified as she stared the strangled redhead before them lying next to her sleeping body.
"The King is going to grow violent with time. You were going to be next." Danny said lying slightly.
Kenna may have been a victim of King Henry eventually, but Prince/King Francis killed him before anything might have happened to her.
"This cannot be." Kenna said staring at what might be awaiting her.
"I can show you something else." Danny said as he snapped his fingers and the room shifted to the night that Francis pushed Sisilia the sister of the Archduke of Bohemia out of the window in his chambers.
"This is horrible." Kenna stated falling to her knees in shock.
"And there is only more awaiting the lot of you which is why I came here." Danny said. "There are so many dangers facing you and your friends."
"So that is why you told me this? This is why you kidnapped Francis and Sebastian? Why you are staying in the castle?" Kenna asked with rapid fire.
He could feel her spinning into a spiral of despair.
"If I had not arrived King Henry would already be planning the deaths of Prince/King Francis and Sebastian. I am not going to say that my goals are not selfish Lady Kenna, but I do want your friends to live long lives and for you to be happy." Danny said as he pulled Kenna to her feet, brushed her hair from her face, and dried the tears running down from her eyes.
"What do you want?" Kenna asked.
"I want many things but among the top of the list Lady Kenna, I want you." Danny said conjuring the image of the bracelet and putting it back on her hand.
"This cannot happen. I am a catholic and you are a heretic." Kenna said backing away again.
"Lady Kenna you would have nothing to fear. No matter what the Vatican and the Catholic Church tried I would not allow them to hurt you." Danny said.
He would like to see the Catholic Church try to rise against him. His Jaffa were counting down the days before they could begin burning the city to the ground.
"How can I be sure any of this is real. Not just some trick that you have conjured up to scare me?" Kenna asked.
"Nostradamus could see the future. If you doubt me then you can talk to Lady Lola." Danny said.
"Lola knows of this?" Kenna asked him.
"Of this? No. Lady Lola has her own secrets that she would prefer not getting out." Danny said.
"What secrets?" Kenna asked him.
"She is pregnant with Prince/King Francis's child." Danny said as he whispered it in her ear.
He brought them back to their respective minds.
"What?" Kenna asked but he released her from his mind and backed up a few steps from her.
"I think you should go and talk to your friends Lady Kenna." Danny said.
"I have to go." Kenna said as she started walking off.
He watched her go with a smile on his face.

(Jade Arrow, Mars)
"Hello Raki." Danny said as he stood on the other side of the cell.
"What do you want?" Raki asked glaring at him.
"That is a rather harsh way to greet me." Danny said. "I wanted to see if you had changed your mind about my offer."
On the night of the full moon at the beginning of the month Danny had released Raki to run around the forest around Kleak. He had wanted to see how werewolves reacted to being free during the transformation against being locked up.
"You placed a collar on my neck that shocked me if I ran to far." Raki said gesturing to her neck. "As if I am an animal. Why would I ever work with you?"
"To protect your people." Danny said.
"What do you mean?" Raki asked.
He wanted to work with the werewolves because of what he had found in Laurent's memories. Vampires made it a habit to hunt down and kill werewolf tribes whenever they found them. Witches tried to keep the balance between the species and guide them, but they are more often than not manipulated by vampires and burned alive by baseline humans. They were too busy to keep the peace.
The reason that vampires hunted them is because the bite of a werewolf is lethal to vampires. The symptoms of the bite included intense fever, vomiting, and hallucinations. The infection would then take a day to spread through the vampire's system and kill them.
There is a cure to the bite but the only ones that knew it are the upper echelon of the Strix. He wanted to know how they developed a toxic bite given that vampires came to exist after the werewolves.
How did they even find out about that fact?
He intended to ask Qetsiyah if she could look for the spirit that had the answers to his questions.
"Werewolves and witches have a lot in common. They are used, betrayed, and hunted by people that fear them." Danny said.
"You say that like you aren't going to be using us." Raki said with a scoff as she walked deeper into her cell.
"True I want you in my army but that is because I see the potential in you." Danny said. "You want to return home but if you do then you would have to deal with the Spanish coming to take more of your land."
"You say that as if we cannot deal with these invaders." Raki said. "Even with the amount that you killed we will stand and fight for our home."
"A group here or a group there are no problem for you but if the Holy Roman Emperor decides that he wants to crush you." Danny said. "After he learns what you are and the gods that you worship, he will send waves of men from his and allied kingdoms to destroy you."
"Think on it." Danny said as he walked away.
He had a mission to organize.

Danny stood atop the stairs as he looked at his Jaffa waiting to be deployed.
"This is Nova Roma." Danny said as he waved his hand and activated a holographic projection of the city. "This is the city that we will be attacking."
With the information the B.I.R.D.S. had provided during their week of scouting informed him that the city had been created in the roman fashion. The people that walked the city wore the clothing that would have been common during that time. The buildings are built with cement and the city had a working aqueduct.
Setesh keeping to Goa'uld tradition ruled this city with the people believing that he is a god and ruled in the biggest estate at the edge of the town.
"The plan required us to split into two groups. The group led by my duplicate is going to the corners of the city and placing a barrier projector to seal off the city. Afterwards they are going to seal the doors and make sure that nobody escapes."
Unlike the attack on Honduras, he is not letting anyone leave here alive.
The holographic projection demonstrated his plan.
A hand is raised.
"Yes Veda?" Danny asked.
He had told her ahead of time to ask these specific questions.
"Will we encounter enemies while we are securing the city?" Veda asked.
"The chance of encountering enemies is high." Danny said bringing up a new image.
"This woman is named Selene. She holds the position of High Priestess. She is also a vampire. Her role is to makes sure that the people in the city worship Setesh and obey his every whim."
He believed he kept her around because she saved him the effort of using his supply of Nish'ta.
"Any vampire you encounter is to be killed with no hesitation or mercy." Danny said.
He did not need people zealously searching for Setesh in an attempt of a rescue.
"Setesh sleeps in his estate guarded by his honor guard."
The guard consisted of vampires under the influence of Nish'ta. That made them believers that are prepared to fight and die in his name against anyone that would try and assault or escape from the city.
"The masks that you have been given will protect you from the Vampire's compulsion." Danny said.
Vampires needed eye contact to compel another individual. He did not know if it would work on Jaffa but with the target, he was chasing he did not want to risk it. the mask would also protect them from the Nish'ta in case Setesh decided to use it.
"Now that you are aware of the plan board the Al'kesh and prepare for battle." Danny said.

(Nova Roma, Brazil)
"Have we arrived?" Danny asked looking at the Jaffa on the other side of the door.
"We are above the city my king." Veda said from behind her mask.
"Time to begin." Danny said as he stood up and moved to the hangar bay.
The Al'kesh transportation rings took them to the estate yards.
"You know your role." Danny said to the duplicate that he created.
"Yes." The duplicate responded. "Squad two move out."
The group that he leads is heading into the estate to capture Setesh. Any vampire that they across is to be killed with a staff weapon. He can get their memories after they are on the Other Side.
"Time to start." Danny said as he turned blasted the doors of the estate inside.
As he entered, he could see Setesh's symbols hanging off of banners. Food was laying in abandoned plates, wine was spilling out of fallen cups, and There were female bodies that were lying down out of what was clearly sexual exhaustion.
It seems that Setesh wanted to make sure that his people tried to emulate Roman society as much as possible. All the way down to the orgies.
'At least they will be passing onto the next world happily.' Danny thought walking past the sleeping servants.
He heard the sound of staff weapons firing. Then he heard the sound of people running towards him. Look like the weapons had alerted the guard that they are here.
Danny shifted his vision and saw that a group of four guards are coming towards him.
"Die intruder." Two of the men said as he appeared before the group.
They raised their spears and ran at him, but Danny just grew a smile on his face.
He accelerated his perception and reaction speed. Time slowed to the point that he could run laps around them, and even with their enhanced sense they would never notice.
He moved to the first vampire, He placed a stasis chip on his forehead, and then he kicked his legs from under him and sent him flying to the wall. He then moved to the second. He placed another stasis chip on his arm and chopped his shoulder hard enough to dislocate it and send him to the floor. The third he gave a stasis chip on his neck and gave him an uppercut that would send him to the ceiling. The last he placed on the back and used telekinesis to send him flying through the wall.
He returned to the spot where her started and his perception back to normal so he could watch it happen in real time.
"Poor fools had the terrible luck to run into me." Danny said as he looked at the fallen and frozen bodies and went deeper into Setesh's residence.
As he turned through a right hallway, he found Setesh's bedroom. He shifted his vision to see through the walls and found that the bed had been put against the wall revealing a secret passageway.
"Setesh is trying to escape." Danny said to his team as he entered the room. "I am going after him."
He jumped through the tunnel and found himself facing three tunnels. He enhanced his hearing so he could hear the footsteps and find the correct tunnel.
'It's the one on the left.' Danny thought as he started running.
He found himself facing Selene and three vampires blocking his way.
Selene has dark hair that reaches her shoulders and a dark roman stola.
"Who are you? How did you get here?" Selene asked.
"I have come to conquer this city." Danny said.
"You will suffer for your arrogance!" Selene shouted. "Defend Nova Roma! Defend Setesh!"
The two guards in front of her ran at him.
Danny tapped his foot on the ground and transmuted the ground to spikes that stabbed through the vampires.
'Now to find Setesh.' Danny thought.
"Where is Setesh running?" Danny asked while walking closer to Selene.
"Do you think that I will betray Setesh?" Selene asked pulling out a dagger.
"No but then again I can just take the knowledge from you." Danny said as his eyes began to glow.
"Stay out of my mind!" Selene shouted as she tried to fight him.
He blocked her kick and tossed her to the wall. She ran at him with her knife that he deflected to the side before grabbing the extended arm and punching her in the stomach.
"I know where to go now." Danny said placing his hand atop hers and setting it alight with purple fire. "Thank you."
He learned through her memoires that Selene had been turned during the time of the Eastern Roman Empire. She and Setesh met one night when she was starting out and on the hunt for food. She had fallen under his influence and followed his decision that they should make their own city away from the rest of the world where they could live as they wanted without enemies after them. They could rule without having anyone question them or attack.
The plan had been working for them pretty well. At least until he found them. Setesh is heading to his secret bunker where he planned to watch and observe how the situation developed.
He used his superspeed to race down the tunnel.

Danny found the silver door that led to Setesh's bunker.
He placed his hands on the door and transmuted them so that they would open.
"Hello." Danny said as he entered the bunker and looked at the Goa'uld watching his city be captured. "I hope that you are ready to surrender."
"Why have you come here?" Setesh growled at him rising from his chair and turning from the monitor. "Who do you serve?"
His current body is a tall Caucasian man with brown eyes and black hair.
"I am Daniel king of Dinai." Danny said looking at the Kara'kesh on his hand. "My Jaffa worship Nirrti and I have come to capture you."
"The Goa'uld have come back to the planet?" Setesh asked.
"There is no need to worry about these things." Danny said.
"You will pay for what you have done to my city." Setesh growled as he raised his hand again and fired an energy beam from the Kara'Kesh.
"I do not think so." Danny said as he raised his free hand and created a shield around himself to protect him from the energy beam.
"How did you do that?" Setesh asked looking at his hand. "I do not see you wearing a Kara' Kesh. Has Nirrti finally accomplished her experiments?"
"That is another piece of information you do not need." Danny said as he used his power to break the Kara'kesh. "All you need to know is that soon you will be joining your siblings."
"You dare threaten a god?" Setesh asked with the voice of the Goa'uld making it a deep booming growl while tearing the Kara'kesh off of his hand and tossing it to the floor.
"That look probably intimidated the people of Nova Roma but it does nothing to me." Danny said.
His eyes began to glow as well.
"I demand to speak to Nirrti slave." Setesh growled at him.
"I am not a slave and Nirrti is very far from here." Danny said, "I have some questions, and you are the Goa'uld that can answer them."
"You must be a very arrogant fool to believe that you can capture and torture a god." Setesh said. "You will pay for what you have done to my home."
"It is amusing to hear a Goa'uld talk of arrogance." Danny said as he brought Setesh to him and sent a shock through his body knocking him out.
Danny opened a portal to the ghost zone.
'I have captured Setesh, good luck exploring.' Danny thought to his duplicate.
He did not understand everything that he had taken from Selene's mind, but he knew that Setesh had some very interesting objects lying in a vault nearby.
