Chapter 27: Capturing the First Family
"I really hope this works." Danny said as he took a drink of his ale wondering what Rebekah's answer would be.
He liked to think that with the cruelty that Klaus has dealt to her the past several centuries would be enough for her to understand that she should take his side.
"That is some nasty scheme you are brewing." Danny heard Lucien say as he turned around to see Lucien Castle and Eric Northman.
They are vampires that belonged to Niklaus' s sireline. Lucien was the first vampire ever turned back in 1002 and Eric Northman was turned fifty years later.
"Great Kalus is aware that we managed to avoid all the compelled humans that were sent to spy on us and now Klaus is sending vampires." Danny fake complained. "It is not nice to listen in on people's conversations."
He wanted to figure out the easiest way to deal with them. His Jaffa were supposed to be doing the fighting, but they were not around, and it would take too long for them to arrive.
"It is not nice to betray the one you call a friend." Lucien countered.
"So, what do you think we should do with him Lucien. I am thinking of ripping his heart out." Eric said.
"As much as I would like to mutilate him Klaus would probably like to punish him himself." Lucien said.
"Like you really care what Niklaus wants." Danny said. "You guys can walk away and pretend that you never heard any of this. I am giving you the option."
Lucien hated the Mikaelson family. Reason One being Niklaus stealing the love of his life and two because of Elijah compelling him, Tristan, and Aurora to believe they were the Mikaelsons for a one hundred and twelve years. He had not gotten over that and was planning on getting revenge on them.
"You really think you can take both of us. We could kill you before you could chant a spell." Lucien said.
"You may believe that but that does not make it the truth." Danny said as he rose from the table.
The moment the two of them tried to run at him he twisted his hand and snapped their necks watching as they dropped to the floor in unconsciousness.
"Just great. This is definitely going to move up the timescale." Danny said. "Raios I need you to bring a group of Jaffa down to keep two prisoners secured."
Niklaus would eventually get suspicious when he failed to receive word from these two.
"We are coming my king." Raios responded.

Danny whistled as he walked into the Mikaelson estate. His Jaffa were in the sky looking down at the mansion from the Ha'tak. Any sign of violence happening, and they were to fire down on the estate while he was intangible. Reduce the place to rubble and then they would capture the Mikaelson siblings.
"I see that you have arrived Danny." Niklaus said as he walked down the steps.
There was a smile on his face but truthfully the man was a swirl of rage and malice.
"How are you Niklaus?" Danny asked knowing the answer but wanting to know why he was currently feeling this way. "I was expecting Rebekah."
"She is still mulling over that offer mother wants us to take." Niklaus said. "Come in."
Looks like Rebekah had told them after all.
"Don't look so annoyed. Rebekah has learned her lesson from the last time someone promised her a cure for vampirism." Niklaus said as he walked into the estate. "I can still remember killing Alexander and the other members of The Five."
"I don't doubt it. You had to spend over four decades in a tempest of madness and hallucinations due to the curse that comes by when you kill one of their members." Danny said. "Would it not be better to take the deal than worry if you will have to deal with such a situation again?"
"So, my mother has been telling you the stories of our past." Niklaus said.
"She wanted to give me context when she reached out to me." Danny said.
"You cannot trust my mother." Niklaus warned.
"I can understand why you would see it that way." Danny said.
"You can? Really?" Niklaus asked in a sarcastic tone. "I hear you say that, and I feel like using the decorative sword that you had given me and use it to cut your arms off. Then you can maybe understand a tiny fraction of the pain that the woman had put me through."
"She told me how she had you stabbed by your father to become vampires." Danny said.
"That's it?" Niklaus asked before letting a mean smile fill his face. "Of course, my mother would rather hide her shame and portray her actions as that of a mother that only tried to protect her children. Anything other than meant that she would have to face the truth. Let's have a seat and chat."
"I am kind of waiting on Rebekah." Danny said. "We can talk about this later."
"Rebekah will be taking a while to get dressed. We have plenty of time." Niklaus said as he walked pass the compelled servants and walked to the parlor. "Have a seat. We have a lot to talk about."
"Alright." Danny said as he took a seat on the couch and looked up at Niklaus.
"In my experience my mother could lie to someone for years and never feel bad about it. She would rather lie and manipulate than tell someone the truth." Niklaus said.
"She did not go into that much. She said it was because you could not control your bloodlust." Danny said.
He wondered how a therapist would react if they could interview the Mikaelson family.
"Let me tell you why I killed her." Niklaus said as he moved forward in his seat.
"After I was turned into a vampire, I found myself overpowered with the desire for blood. The moment I first felt a sip of blood I was intoxicated. As the first taste of blood hit my tongue all I knew was that I wanted more. I drained six people that had lived in our village. That was when I activated the curse." Niklaus said.
"Curse?" Danny asked.
"It turns out the man that I thought was my father wasn't. My mother had slept with the man that led the tribe of werewolves near my village." Niklaus said.
"That means..." Danny began as he thought over the implications.
"Yes. I am both Vampire and Werewolf. A hybrid." Niklaus said with his rage was increasing on the inside even though his face was calm. "Thanks to my mother's lies. I had spent so much of my human life trying to receive the love of the man I thought was my father."
"Mikael." Danny said.
"Yes Mikael. Do you know his title?" Niklaus asked.
"The Hunter." Danny answered.
"Yes. Do you know why they call him that? In his desire to end me he has burnt towns to the ground, slaughtered thousands of werewolves, and wiped-out hundreds of vampires to one day put a stake in my heart. The reason being that my mother lied to us both and he will never forget that."
"I have never heard of a vampire able to turn into a wolf." Danny said.
This caused his heart to beat even faster at the being in front of him. No doubt that he could hear it. Niklaus was a victim of Inadu's curse and blessed with vampirism by Esther Mikaelson. This was a very rare being standing in front of him. It was like standing in front of a unicorn. He could not wait to capture and study him.
"That is because my mother cast a curse on me. She made it so that I could never tap into that power. Then the man that I had called father slaughtered the tribe of Werewolves so that I could never know my true father." Niklaus said.
"So that is what started the war between the Vampires and the Werewolves?" Danny asked.
There are still some parts of the story that he was missing. He wished that the original had searched the memory cube for more useful things than just editing memories to make movies. Werewolves when had to make a choice between a human and a vampire for a target they would more often than not chase right at the vampire. Not to mention how their bite was fatal to regular vampires.
How did that happen when Werewolves came first? Shouldn't it be the other way around given how they were made?
"Yes." Niklaus said. "The surviving werewolves of the tribe never got over what Mikael did to them and so whenever they found a vampire under a full moon they would try and kill it. That caused the vampires to start hunting Werewolves every day and night except under a full moon and for hundreds of years the species have fought each other."
"Does it affect you or your siblings?" Danny asked.
He could not imagine Niklaus letting such a weakness be known or survive even if he was related to them. He was also using his powers to slowly influence Niklaus's emotions. His anger was helping him. If he was focused, he had little doubted the Hybrid would notice what he was doing.
"No. I am immune to it and all it does to my siblings is drive them to hallucinate for hours." Niklaus said.
"So, the curse of the sun and the moon?" Danny asked.
There were rumors all around the world about what made it so that Vampires were burned by the sun and Werewolves shifted during the moon. The tales shifted in region about who cast the curse and the reason but whether it was on Roman parchments, Aztec drawings, or African tribal etchings they all agreed that for either Vampires to walk in the sun or Werewolves to never shift again during the full moon the curse needed to be broken. Plenty of reason for both sides to look for a method to do just that. The only reason most were not trying now was that special ingredients were needed.
"I made it up to fix what my mother did to me." Niklaus answered uncaring of those that died trying to break the curse.
"Best way to find something is to have two warring species looking for it?" Danny asked.
"Right." Elijah answered causing him to turn to the door.
"Hello Daniel." Salome said as she walked in after Elijah.
She was turned into a vampire in the year 1223. She had lived in the Byzantine empire. She had an attractive face, but he felt that her short hair ruined it.
"Hello." Danny said as he waved at them from his seat. "How are you doing, Elijah?"
He could feel the tension rising in the room as they blocked the door leading out of the room.
"I am alright though I have to admit that learning you are familiar with my mother threw me for a bit of a loop." Elijah said.
"I can understand that, but I believe we know lots of the same people." Danny said.
"Really?" Elijah asked.
"Yes. In fact, I have met members of certain organization that you started. The Strix I believe they are called. I believe the last time that you had seen them was after the fall of the Byzantine Empire." Danny said and saw Elijah's eye twitch and his arm tense.
"You have met with The Strix?" Elijah asked.
"Certain members. I believe that they are currently led by Tristan de Martel and Aya. They are close acquaintances of yours are they not?" Danny asked and he could feel that question set Elijah off.
Given what he learned from Lucien he understood why Elijah was so angry. Tristan had been turned because Elijah wanted to hide from his father. A few centuries later The Strix chose Tristan to lead them over Elijah after he abandoned them.
It seemed that Elijah was still pissed over that.
"Would you fancy a drink?" Elijah asked him.
"No thanks. I am good." Danny said wondering what was going on with Elijah.
They rarely talked to each other for long. Elijah felt that he was no good for his sister but kept quiet about it as long as his sister was happy.
"Do you know what happened to Lucien and Eric? Those two were supposed to report back at nightfall but they never showed up." Niklaus asked.
"Not a clue." Danny lied. "Have they run into some sort of trouble?"
"They were following someone of interest to Klaus." Salome said.
"Do you need help locating them?" Danny asked.
He wondered when they were going to get straight to accusing him. He could lie and play uninterested for a very long time. His Jaffa were listening in the skies above to every word being said. It would just take a thought to get them ready.
"Could you cast a spell and find them for us?" Niklaus asked.
"You got a map and some salt?" Danny asked.
"We can get some." Elijah said as he turned around and opened the door revealing a compelled servant waiting to be ordered or drained of blood.
Danny took a quick look in his mind but had to hide the irritation when he saw that the servant had no idea about Rebekah's whereabouts.
"Excuse us for a moment." Niklaus said as he and Elijah walked out of the room.
They were probably trying to get to a distance that they thought he could not hear from.
"So how have you been Salome?" Danny asked while they waited for the time to pass and for the servant to return.
"I am doing wonderful." Salome said.
"That is always wonderful to hear." Danny said. "So, who was it that Lucien and Eric were following?".
"Just a new friend that turned out to be scheming against the family." Salome answered.
"Sounds terrible. You people should hire bodyguard so that sort of thing does not happen." Danny said.
"That sounds like good advice." Salome said. "I am wondering what meal they would have to pair with his blood when he was drained dry."
"You would have more experience with that than I." Danny said shrugging.
"I just wish that the torture does not ruin the taste." Salome said smiling as she looked at him. "I have found the blood of tortured meat tended to be unsatisfying when they were drained. It was like the pained and anguished soul ruined tainted the blood. I want this meal to cause a happy memory that I can always look back on."
He exchanged a conversation with Salome while listening to the Mikaelson brothers plot against him. They even started speaking faster than normal as a precaution.
"That vile woman is still scheming to make my life miserable." Niklaus said. "Not even death seemed to be able to stop her."
"It would also explain why Danny came looking for us." Elijah said. "Mother's newest weapon."
"Why is he so calm?" Nikaus asked. "He had to have been behind their disappearance."
"That is yet to be discovered." Elijah said. "I am sure that Rebekah had told him of what they had done to all of her previous suitors, but he shows no fear to any of us."
"It is foolish if he does not believe they will do the same to him if he dares to think he can deceive us." Niklaus said.
"You must have patience brother." Elijah said. "First let us see if he will tell us what happened to Lucien and Eric."
"This test of yours is pointless. I say that we pluck his eyes out and force feed them to him." Another voice said. "There is no way that he can fight off three originals."
So Niklaus had decided to awaken Kol. He was the youngest of Rebekah's undead brothers. So, it seems that Niklaus had daggered Rebekah. According to Esther he never had Kol and Rebekah out at the same time.
The pair could be too troublesome.
'Great now I am going to have to read their minds to find out where she is.' Danny thought.
"I rarely agree with Kol but this time I believe that he is right." Elijah said. "If Eric and Lucien are still alive, we can find another witch to find them. No matter where he had hidden them but this man in front of us is too dangerous to live.
"We need to know if we can turn him against our mother." Niklaus argued.
"You know how mother is." Kol began. "If we do not take her offer here and now, she would probably use force to make us take this cure. That cannot happen and you know why."
"The enemies we have made over the centuries would come out of the shadows." Elijah said.
Elijah felt that it was his duty was to protect their family and keep it together. It is basically his whole reason to keep going. Despite how they hurt each other he always forgave them. It is his strength and his weakness.

Once they were done plotting Niklaus and Elijah returned with a servant holding the necessary materials.
"Now I can start." Danny said as he used telekinesis to bring the supplies to the table in front of him.
He rolled out the map and used telekinesis to unscrew the jar that held the salt. He had seen the memories of enough witches and watched Qetsiyah do it in person, so he knew what they expected. "It looks like they left town. Probably scared of failing Klaus." The trail of salt led to outside of the village and trailed off as that was the extent of the map.
Truthfully, all he did was draw a long line of salt from one edge of the map to over the other side.
"Really?" Elijah asked in a suspicious tone of voice.
"Yes." Danny lied with a straight face.
Before anything else could be said there was a knock on the door.
"Maybe that is Rebekah?" Niklaus asked.
Even without his knowledge or powers Danny would have doubted that.
Elijah calmly walked and opened the door and in walked Kol Mikaelson.
"Greetings chum." Kol Mikaelson said with a smile.
Many people would consider that face full of boyish charm. Those same fools would probably be surprised when that charming face ripped out their hearts or bit into their necks with that same smile. Kol was just as bloodthirsty as Niklaus. It was a coin toss to decide who was more impulsive.
"Hello Kol." Danny said as the youngest original vampire walked towards him.
"So, you're the newest guy to have taken advantage of our sweet sister." Kol said.
He was giving off large feelings of malice.
"I don't think so. I think that I am giving Rebekah what she always wanted. A human life." Danny said.
"Rebekah wants something different every day." Elijah said turning from the now locked door. "You are just a rather recent desire of my sister. She will move on eventually."
"Since we are waiting in this awkward room here, I may as well ask what your answer to your mother's offer is?" Danny asked the Mikaelson siblings.
"We don't want it." Niklaus said.
"That is the wrong answer." Danny said with a sigh as he stood up.
"You are going to regret the moment that you plotted against my family." Elijah said as he tried to rush him, but they made no contact as Danny started vibrating at the speed of air and passed right through him.
He watched as Elijah tripped over the couch.
"At least you had a soft landing." Danny said with a smile. "Really?" He asked looking at Kol who had thrown a fire poker through him.
"You are going to have to turn solid eventually. Even if you try to run and hide, we have all of your life to hunt you down." Elijah said.
They were confident of that. It was one of the upsides to being immortal with mortal enemies. Even if they did not meet again, they knew that one day their enemy would die.
"Not to mention we have Rebekah." Kol said the grin still on his face, but his eyes had grown colder.
"I am not leaving Rebekah." Danny said as he turned solid. "She wants to be human and so she will get her wish."
"You must be mad to think we would let you take our sister away from her family." Niklaus said as he leapt at him "You have put these stupid ideas inside of Rebekah's head and for that you will be punished."
"You misunderstand. You will still all be together." Danny said as he punched Niklaus to the ground and lifted him up with telekinesis and threw him to the wall behind him and held him there.
Neither he nor the original version needed hand gestures to use telekinesis, but they made it look cooler, so they stuck with it.
"I should have killed you when we met." Niklaus growled.
He was trying to fight it, but he was not strong enough.
"That is hurtful." Danny said. "I liked to think that we would one day enjoy backyard celebrations together. Maybe one day call each other family."
"You will pay for that." Elijah said as he rushed in now that Danny was solid.
"That did not work for him and it's not going to work for you." Danny said as he picked up a book from the library and used it to smack Elijah in the face.
The strength of the impact caused him to lose his balance and tumble to the floor. He kept him held there stuck on his stomach.
"Now what are you two going to do?" Danny asked Kol and Salome.
He looked cool and composed but he was bluffing. He would have liked to keep playing around but he could feel himself getting weaker by the second as he held Niklaus against the wall. It was time to summon the Jaffa.
"Let my brother go." Kol yelled as he picked up the sword he gifted Niklaus and ran at him.
The next moment an energy blast was fired down from the Ha'tak through the Mikaelson estate. People were probably going to think that it was a sign of a god smiting someone, but the Mikaelsons were going to learn that it was just a sign of more trouble.
"What is going on?" Niklaus asked as a transportation ring came down from the ship and twenty Jaffa stepped out as a group.
He took a position in front of the locked door. If they wanted out, then they were going to have to break through the walls and even for them that would take time.
"Jaffa kree." Danny called out as they started blasting.
The vampires growled in irritation and started running at the Jaffa. They clearly believed that they were in no danger. When a vampire was injured, their damaged bodies reverted to the state they were in pre-injury, and they knew they were stronger than mortal men. So even with these strange weapons they believed that they could win.
The thing about Jaffa staff weapons was that they could fire consecutively with no need for reload which was not true for the weapons of this time period. So even though a few Jaffa were dropping with broken necks there was still more than enough to bring them to the ground while they expected a reload time. It also revealed to him those older vampires were stronger than Jaffa. So, in rankings of strength, it would go from bottom to top Werewolf, then young Vampire, then Jaffa, and then older Vampire.
"Report injuries!" Danny commanded as he looked around at the bodies lying about and the holes in the walls, ceilings, and floor.
"Kobu and Jneri have entered stasis mode." Febras said looking down at the Jaffa.
"Make sure that they are brought to a medical chamber and healed." Danny said. "The original will make sure that there is a grand festival on Dinai."
Stasis mode. A new function of the amor that he had been working on since he learned of the Other Side. He did not need any Jaffa dying and joining the Other Side and sharing unneeded secrets. It activated when the Jaffa got injured beyond a set point. Their suits locked down and froze them in a protective shield stopping them from being injured further.
It was good that he had them wear it on the miniscule chance that the Originals could dent the trinium armor.
Looking outside the holes he could see that some servants had been caught in the explosions and were bleeding out. If the original were here, he would have used the ancient healing device to heal these people, but he did not have that would have to make use of what was around him.
Good thing that there were some vampires lying before them.
"Take some blood from them and use it to heal the injured servants in the estate. If there is any sign that they are waking up strike them again." Danny said to the other Jaffa.
Now to find where the Mikaelsons had placed Rebekah.
"You have completed your promise." Esther said.
"All that is left is your husband." Danny said. "Have you had any luck finding him?"
The Vampire hunter Mikael was the only original vampire left. Soon he would have all the sirelines and he would have control over the vampire species.
"Not yet. The search goes on." Esther denied. "Somehow Mikael is able to avoid my tracking spells. He must have made some ally that was cloaking him."
"Very well." Danny said. "Now I have to find out where Rebekah and Finn are."
He walked over to Niklaus and started searching through his mind.
When he was awake the potential Hybrid had tough psychic barriers up preventing people from accessing his mind but now that he was unconscious, they were easy to break through. It looks like they were being held in the cellar of an old man named Gaius that lived in the woods.
He smiled as he accomplished his mission. He had almost all of the Original Vampires and the coffins had been completed. The Ha'tak would send him the coffins in the next transportation ring landing. They would need to be moved off-world so even if a witch performed a locator spell, they would be unable to retrieve them. There were White Oak trees being grown in France and some would have to be transported to Dinai as well just in case.
'So, the job for the next duplicate is to gather all the vampires of Earth to the same place.' Danny thought to himself as he went over which location to bring them to.
There were plenty of places to do it whether because of their origin or whether because he thought it would be atmospheric and cool. He went around and around in his head for five minutes before deciding to let the duplicate handle it.
It was best to get this started.
