Chapter 28: Reluctant Obedience
(Royal Castle, France)
"I heard that you were back." Archduchess Cecilia said as she approached him.
"How have you been?" Danny asked the Archduchess who was being followed by her compelled ladies-in-waiting.
"I have been doing well." Archduchess Cecilia said.
"No problems with finding your food?" Danny asked.
"No, this place of full of delicious treats." Archduchess said.
He knew what she was doing. So many nobles walking around that just wanted to talk to her. Give them a simple hint or suggestion of getting alone with her was enough for her victims to come to a secluded place safe from the eyes of others. One compulsion later and they walked away without a memory of what happened. The guards he left behind made sure that she did not go too far. He did not need rumors spreading about her yet.
"Do you know where Queen Catherine is?" Danny asked.
"Not really." Archduchess Cecilia said.
He was not surprised. She had spent more time with King Henry than the queen when she had first visited the castle and now it was still the same. Now it was just that she was punishing him for killing her by draining him of his blood and making him perform foolish tasks.
"We should talk again soon." Danny said as the Archduchess bowed before him with her ladies following her actions before they left him.

Danny took a deep breath as he sat on a chair he created and looked ahead the five coffins that were in front of him.
Each one of them contained a Mikaelson vampire. They were going to be sent to a secure room once they reached his castle through the Antarctic Chappa'ai. They would be kept behind a locked door that only reacted to his specific power signature.
"Have you picked out new bodies for them?" Esther asked as she appeared next to him.
The coffin that Niklaus kept Esther in was also in the room but that was more so he could get a genetic base to make new bodies for the Mikaelsons. The original plan had involved kidnapping villagers and altering their looks, but this had less victims.
"The process is ready to begin." Danny said. "They are going to be living in a land where no one would has ever heard of them or been a victim to their progeny."
"You will give Rebekah the happiness she has been denied all these years." Esther said.
"I have every intention of doing so." Danny said.
Rebekah was the first to get a new body and the moment she woke up would be the start of the life she had dreamed about. He was still undecided on when he wanted to wake the others up. He knew the order he would be releasing them in. It would go Finn, Kol, Elijah, and finally Niklaus. He and Rebekah could talk it over.
Finn was the first brother because he had lost centuries to the dagger, and he felt like he had suffered enough. Elijah was second to last because despite their dislike of each other he could be convinced if he saw that his other siblings are happy.
Niklaus is last because of his anger issues.
"I remember so long ago how innocent they all were." Esther said. "I had made MANY mistakes in their lives but now they were finally getting the chance to be human and live how they wanted. I do not know where that ring of yours will lead them, but it would be better than the lives, they led for the past half a millennium."
"I could bring you back to the world of the living as well." Danny said.
Esther's body had been perfectly preserved. It was no big deal to bring her back to it. If she still wanted to die, he could take her to another world and kill her there surrounded by her family. That way she could reach whatever afterlife was waiting for her.
"No. My life is over, and I want to respect the cycle nature intended. If you want to do something for me free Freya." Esther said. "Still there is something that I want to ask you for."
"I have already gone this far." Danny said.
"I wish that you save my other daughter and grant her freedom as well." Esther said.
"Very well. One she wakes up from her sleep I will try and free her as well." Danny said and watched as she cut the connection between them.
Now that he is alone, he activated the Chappa'ai that had been moved from the Antarctic to inside King Henry's castle. That way the original could make sure that it was guarded and be alerted if it was activated without his permission. They had planned to use the one in Egypt but the presence of the Medjai had caused them to abandon it.
It could rest where it was for a while longer.
Two duplicates lifted the coffins with telekinesis and stepped through the portal.

(Marseilles, France, November 1558)
Danny sat in his castle and waited for his guest to arrive. His B.I.R.D.S. sent images of them entering the area to the Ha'tak which were then sent to him. He used that time to read the files the original had made when he transferred the information Qetsiyah had given him.
"My king all vampires have been recorded as having entered the country." Kada's hologram said to him.
"Then activate the B.I.R.D.S.'s sonic scream." Danny said scrolling through the next page of information.
The B.I.R.D.S. that were spread through had the ability to shriek at an intense and repeating frequency. Humans and animals could hear it and be fine, but he learned through Laurent that for Vampires it could cause a painful migraine that they could not escape from. After a few seconds it would render them incapacitated and soon unconscious.
His Jaffa would pick them up soon after and bring them to the castle. They had instructions on how to deal with the vampires. They would place headphones in each of their ears so that the vampires could not wake up and start slaughtering Jaffa so they could try and make an escape. The next step was to give each one a bracelet that would allow him to track them wherever they were in the castle and their daylight amulets were to be hidden in secret compartments in their rooms that they could not access without his permission. The doors had been replaced with electronic ones that would shut down at his command.
"Now I have the Mikaelson's first generation of progeny." Danny said as he teleported to the cells in the castle's dungeon.
"Hello Lucien." Danny said as he looked at his prisoner.
Through the study of Lucien and Eric that is still on the ship (not to mention the Medjai vampires trapped in the village of Kleak) and knowledge from Esther he learned that the Sirelink allowed him to send psychic messages. He was gathering the one hundred and fifty vampires that descended from them to gather at the castle that Tristan and Aurora used to live in but still owned.
The duplicate he was made from had the Jaffa bring him here after he had sent the Mikaelsons off world and captured the castle.
"What do you want?" Lucien asked.
It seemed that he was angry about being brought back to his homeland.
"I just want to talk with you." Danny said as he sat in front of his prisoner.
Truthfully, he felt kind of bored as all he had to do was let a couple hours pass by while the Jaffa finished setting things up. They were hanging up banners with Nirtti's symbol, replacing the de Martell portraits with images of him and Nirrti, and taking all the gold and treasure back to Kleak, Vendru in the Bahamas, and Takris in New Spain for holding.
"You have held me prisoner for weeks and this is the first time that you have come to speak with me." Lucien said.
"You have to admit that we did not part on the best of terms. You were threatening to maim me." Danny said.
"Have you gotten over it? Is that why you are here? Or did you gain the urge to torture me?" Lucien asked.
"I have come here to tell you that you are going to be released soon." Danny said.
"What?" Lucien asked.
"I have plans for you. Plans that you cannot help me with if you are locked in a cell." Danny said.
The original wanted the Trinity to help form the top of the vampire hierarchy he was building.
"Why would I ever help you?" Lucien asked.
"Being stubborn is not going to help you. You are going to learn that dealing with my whims is better than refusing. Most importantly I am going to give you something that you have always wanted. Power." Danny said.
"What do you have in mind?" Lucien asked interested.
"Don't worry. You will find out soon enough." Danny said. "Would you like to play a game?"
In front of him and in front of Lucien a screen with an Othello board appeared.
"Where are we exactly?" Lucien asked as he made his move.
"A place that you know very well." Danny said.
0-0-0-0-0-0
"How long until they arrive?" Danny asked as he sat on the throne and basked in the history of the room.
This was where The Originals and The Trinity would first meet each other. Where Lucien introduced the Mikaelsons to the de Martells.
"They should be there soon my king." Kada responded.
"Good. I have been waiting for this for hours." Danny said and watched as the one hundred and fifty vampires filled the throne room.
They had a variety of feelings as they looked around his new castle, but the older ones refused to show it on their faces. They had already been caught off guard once and did not want it to happen again. "Hello vampires gathered here today."
Others were not that smart.
"Who are you?" Godbrand demanded. "Are you the stranger that had called them here?"
Godbrand is a vampire that belongs to Kol's bloodline. He was turned four decades ago. He was a vampire known for his impulsiveness and bloodlust. He is a short man with red hair, goatee, and pale skin. He did not wear a daylight amulet believing a vampire's true time was the night. He disliked all vampires that walked during the day. He enjoyed the terror that he caused as he rampaged through an unsuspecting village.
"Yes. I am." Danny answered.
"Then you are the reason behind those drums going off in my head like my head was exploding!" Godbrand yelled."
"Yes. I had worried that you lot would have ignored the summoning if it was not for the pounding headache." Danny said.
"I am Daniel Masters." Danny said. "I am the king of Dinai and the new lord and master of all vampires."
"What?" Carmilla hissed at him. "What sort of madness are you suffering from witch?"
She and her sisters Lenore, Morana, and Striga were recent members of the Strix. They were turned by an older vampire named Magnus that she ended up killing when he made the mistake of lowering his guard around her.
Danny felt her bloodlust rise and was certain that before the night was over, she is going to feel like murdering him ten times over.
It amused him greatly.
"I know you vampires have heard what I said. It is the benefit of having enhanced hearing." Danny said as he faced Carmilla then turned to the others. "I know all of you vampires are used to being nomads and travelling where you wished. I am here to tell you that is over now and all of you are going to work for me."
"Carmilla is right. You are insane." Godbrand said as he rushed at him.
"This is going to be a good. Let what happens to Godbrand be a lesson for all of you." Danny said as he looked at Godbrand and activated another function of his gauntlet.
"What?" Godbrand asked before he groaned in pain when the bracelet on his arm started electrifying him and brought him to his knees.
"You vampires have been disorganized mess for far too long. Travelling like nomads and causing death wherever you land. I am here to change that." Danny said.
"I am going to rip your head off of your body and use your skull as a drinking cup." Godbrand said as he struggled to rise.
"You make me wonder if I am going to get to try all the functions on the vampires before the night was over." Danny said.
The damage that happened to them would heal in seconds after all.
"What gives you the right?" Sophie-Anne Leclerq asked.
Sophie-Anne is a beautiful red-headed woman that looked to be in her 30s. She is a vampire that belonged to Rebekah's sireline. She had been a French prostitute before she was turned one hundred and one years ago in 1458.
"I am doing this to you because I have the power to. The same reason so many of you have destroyed so many families." Danny said. "I see a use in the lot of you that have wasted your immortality and so I am taking command."
"There is no way I am going to follow your orders." Godbrand said as he struggled to reach his feet even if the bracelet was shocking him. "No agreement exists that makes a slave of Godbrand."
He knew that the only reason Tristan and older members of The Strix were not saying the same thing even if they felt it was because they wanted to see what cards he had to play before they made their move. They were content to let Godbrand sacrifice himself as he was not a member of their group.
"That is where you are wrong." Danny said as he used his technopathic powers and activated another button which controlled the contact orb placed in the ceiling.
Holographic screens appeared before the group of vampires showing the images recorded on them. The faces of the Mikaelson siblings in their coffins and he could see the looks of surprise on each member of the Trinity's faces. He was so glad that he released Lucien and Eric back into the vampire population. The looks on their faces were something to see. It was even better since all of this was also being recorded.
"How did you capture the Originals?" Godbrand asked shocked as he like all the other vampires understood the wrath of the Mikaelson family and feared it.
There were legends told of the fates of fools that had dared to cross the Mikaelson siblings.
"How I captured them does not matter." Danny said. "What does matter is that I have them."
"Why should we care what you do to the Mikaelsons?" Aya Al-Rashid asked him. "I hold no affection for the family and would not let the fact that Elijah was his prisoner stop me from ripping out the throat of the witch that thought he could make them his slaves."
"You should care given the link between them and you." Danny said.
"What link?" Aurora de Martel asked.
She is the first vampire turned by Rebekah. She had jumped out of her family's castle after being fed Rebekah's blood in a desire to spend eternity with Klaus. Elijah shattered that plan when he compelled her and left with his siblings.
"The blood they gave you that turned you into vampires formed a connection from them to all that followed. A sword hanging over your heads. If the Mikaelsons were to die, then so do all of their progeny." Danny told them. "It is a good enough way to keep you in line. If a single vampire commits a crime, I will punish that vampire but if too many of the line proves troublesome, I will just end the Mikaelson that they descend from, and I do know who comes from which line."
"You can't kill an Original." Roman said gaining his attention.
He was standing next to his sire.
"I have plenty of the needed wood and I know the spell to turn people into Originals. I can end all of your lines and start over with kidnapped villagers. I am just giving you the chance to serve me." Danny said.
He could feel the fear and hatred rolling off of them. They liked being vampires and to be free from all the fears that they held as humans. Now they learned of a new fear. One that they could not ever escape from.
"Now let's talk about what I want." Danny said with a smile as he activated their bracelets and brought them to their knees in front of him.
As he looked over the vampires bowing down before him, he could not help but wonder which one of them would try and challenge him first.

There is a knock at the door.
"Come in." Danny said as he caused the door to open.
"May I introduce Lady Katherine Pierce." Lady Gabrielle said as she walked through.
"Thank you." Danny said causing the door to swing open and the female vampire walked through it. "Hello Katherine."
"I am honored that you wish to talk to me." Katherine said as she curtsied before him.
He could tell that she was curious about what he wanted yet also afraid of what it could be.
"I have a task that I want you to do for me." Danny said.
Katherine had spent some time in England in the 1400s. It was where she had met Niklaus and Elijah Mikaelson. Where she had almost become a sacrifice to free Niklaus from his curse. She had escaped due to tricking Trevor and forcing Rose to turn her into a vampire.
She had spent the last century running from Niklaus and his anger.
"What do you wish for me to do?" Katherine asked.
"I want you to go to England and spy on Queen Elizabeth." Danny said.
"I am not sure I could do that." Katherine said.
"Nonsense I know what a great manipulator you can be when you put your mind to it." Danny said.
"What would I get in return for helping you?" Katherine asked.
"I will tell you something that you have wanted to know for over a century." Danny said.
"What?" Katherine asked curious.
"I know what happened to your daughter." Danny said and watched as her eyes widened. "Take your time to decide I have others I need to talk to."
He also already had Nadia in a deep sleep so she would not ruin the surprise.
Katheirne walked out feeling a mixture of emotions.
"Arcadius was right. The doppelganger is an interesting person." Danny said.
Still, he had more conversations to have.

"Let the next one in." Danny said to Gabrielle.
Sage walked in feeling anger and annoyance. "What do you want?"
"That is rather rude." Danny said.
"You summoned me here to tell me that you are forcing me to work with you. You should not be surprised." Sage said.
"I don't know. I think we can work together very well." Danny said using his powers to pull a tangerine close to him and start peeling while floating in the air.
"What do you want?" Sage asked.
"I want you to help me control the vampires that descend from Finn's line." Danny said as while she was younger than the trinity, she is the first vampire Finn ever turned before he went into his forced sleep by the Brotherhood of the Five.
"What do I get out of this?" Sage asked. "I am not the type that does too well with order and discipline."
"In return for your help I will give you back your beloved Finn." Danny said.
"Do not threaten him!" Sage growled as her face shifted and her fangs descended.
"I am not threatening him. I made a deal with his mother to give him a life free from his coffin. Whether that life includes you or not is the question I am currently facing." Danny said as he bit one of the tangerine pieces. "Go and think on it."
He waved his hand and Sage was teleported to her room because he could tell she was too focused on other thoughts to listen anymore.

"May I pronounce Carmilla of Styria and her sisters." Gabrielle said introducing the next group.
"Hello." Danny said as he watched the sisters enter the room. "I hope you have been enjoying the food my Jaffa have prepared."
"I can say for my sisters that we have never had anything like it." Lenore said as she walked to the front of her sisters and curtsied.
Lenore is the diplomat in the group of four sisters. She is also the most attractive of the sisters. Her pale skin drew attention to the redness of her hair and eyes.
"I will tell them that you enjoyed it." Danny said
"Why have you called us forth if you do not mind me asking?" Morana asked.
Morana is the opposite of Lenore. Where Lenore was short Morana was tall, Where Lenore had pale skin she had dark, Where Lenore's eyes drew you in Morana's were hard to get a clear look at (Not for him but regular people). Morana is also the administrator in the group of four sisters.
"I want to tell you my plans for you sisters." Danny said.
"What do you want us to do?" Lenore asked.
"I want you and your sisters to train a vampire I know." Danny said.
The archduchess had the basic abilities down but there was a lot that she would have to learn both about being a vampire. These sisters were pretty much perfect for her to learn from. She could learn ambition, diplomacy, administration, and martial skill. There was a chance she would learn too much from Carmilla, but he was prepared for that too.
"What would we gain through such an endeavor?" Lenore asked.
"I will allow you to rule all of Austria." Danny said.
The Archduchess would compel the Archduke to give the four the tile necessary to watch over those lands. It would still belong to the Hapsburgs but in truth it was a land where they could rule as queens in all but title.
"Are you serious?" Striga asked.
She is the buffest of the sisters and the warrior of the group. She led their humans in battle. She and Morana are in a relationship.
"Yes. You should enjoy the honor. I have not given any other vampire or group of vampires the gift of ruling their own country overtly. Not even the leaders of the sirelines." Danny said with a smile.
"The Hapsburgs would not allow such a thing." Morana said.
"The vampire I want you to teach is the sister to Ferdinand Archduke of Bohemia The next Holy Roman Emperor." Danny said and watched as their eyes began to plot and scheme how they could take advantage of such a deal. "Think on it."
He watched them leave.
The door opened again. Gabrielle walked in with Reina.
"My king." Reina said holding a data pad. "There is something that you should be aware of."

"Run! Run for your lives!" Peasants cried out as they ran away in terror.
Above them giant clouds formed and brought down lighting on the assembled group leaving nothing but burned corpses in their path. The city was breaking a part as the ground broke apart and sent shards of cement flying. Trees were knocked down and burned a green flame.
"You do not find this to be cruel?" Elizabeth of York asked as she watched besides King Daniel.
"Ironic maybe. I wonder how these priests feel as they receive the wrath of the heavens." Danny said as he brought the green flame together and shaped it into the form of creatures that ran through the town. "Anyway, I like to think that I am doing a good thing."
"How can you possibly see it that way?" Elizabeth of York asked as she saw pillars of smoke rise from the burning shops.
"They were going to burn one of our people at the stake as a demonstration. She is innocent but they are going to kill her so they can comfort the population of their city." Danny said pulling out the deck of playing cards he created when he met Queen Mary.
Mercy Lewis had been an innocent English girl charged with crimes of witchcraft when she had cured a boy that had been suffering from eating hallucinogenic mushrooms. The bishop had believed the boy to be possessed and had not liked being proved wrong. He had convinced the father to sell his daughter and so she had been brought far away from her home to die.

(Next Night)
"I hope that I am not bothering you." A voice said.
"Hello Sophie-Anne." Danny said as he turned around to see his newest servant.
"I wished to talk with you." Sophie-Anne said as she came closer to him.
"About what?" Danny asked as he turned his whole body around.
"I wish to know more about the man that has become king of the vampires." Sophie-Anne said coming closer to him.
He could tell that she was curious about something.
"I can always find time to talk with a pretty woman." Danny said as he landed on the ground.
"I find that wonderful." Sophie-Anne said with a smile. "I wonder perhaps we could talk in the garden?"
"What do you wish to know?" Danny asked.
"I wish to know how long you intend to keep us here?" Sophie-Anne asked.
The vampire had found out that if any of them tried to leave the castle the bracelets activated and brought them pain. They were trapped in this castle during the night and given their daylight amulets were gone they had to be especially careful during the day.
"You would think people that had an eternity had a higher tolerance for the passage of time." Danny said. "It has barely been three days. I left you plenty of thing to entertain themselves with while I was busy."
"Well people tend to get rather agitated when they are kept like prisoners." Sophie-Anne said. "Who knew?"
"I only need to talk with certain vampires for the next two days and after that I will return your daylight amulets and let you leave." Danny said.
"Then my second question is that I wish to know what you plan to do with a vampire army?" Sophie-Anne asked as she gently moved her thumb over his palm
"It is simple. I have some tasks that I need done and I think you and your people are perfect for it." Danny said.
"You really think the other vampires will be content working for a witch?" Sophie-Anne asked. "The history between our species is not the best."
"It does not really matter what they want. They can try and fight me." Danny said.
They would learn how terrible an idea that was soon enough.
"I guess that I can make an exception for such a beautiful woman." Danny said with a smile as they started walking through the castle.
As they passed through the castle, he could hear footsteps coming their way. It sounded like it was a group of three people.
"What a wonderful surprise." Danny said as he looked upon the trinity.
"I hope that you are enjoying my castle." Tristan said with a calm tone.
It did not hide the hate that he felt.
"It is useful for the meeting." Danny said. "This place could serve as a nice vacation home."
He had no intention of giving the castle back to the vampire.
"I am glad that you are enjoying it." Tristan said.
"Good. I wish you enjoy this night." Danny said as he and Sophie-Anne started walking past them.
"May I ask what happened to the humans that were guarding this castle?" Tristan asked.
"I am afraid to say that they were all killed by my Jaffa." Danny replied as they left them behind.
"I hope you do not believe Tristan will take this so easy?" Sophie-Anne asked.
"I am aware how he feels about me. He better get over it." Danny said.
"Vampires are proud creatures. It would probably help him if you gave us back our daylight amulets." Sophie-Anne asked bringing up the subject again.
"I have something planned that I believe will change his mind." Danny said as they walked out of the castle and into the garden.
0-0-0-0-0-0
"So, you finally wish to talk?" Tristan asked standing beside his sister.
"I already know Lucien told you about my plans for you and I want your decision." Danny said.
"You really think that we would work with you? Trust you?" Aurora asked.
"If you want to live? Yes. I do." Danny said.
"You harm either my sister and I and every Strix vampire and with we have will rain blood down on the country of France. Whatever plans you have will end in ruin before you even get started." Tristan said.
"So, we are going to resort to threats. Good thing I had come prepared." Danny said. "Raina gather all vampires in the castle that are awake."
"What is the purpose of this?" Tristan asked.
"Something I have been waiting to do for a while." Danny said as a giant projection appeared before them.
He had kidnapped a group of vampires in the castle that he knew were going to either be annoying or trouble. The group included. Aya Al-Rashid, Ann Flannigan, Don Santiago, Luis Patino, Kibwe Akinjide, Jorge Alonso de San Diego, Godbrand, and Diter Braun.
"What are you planning to do to Aya?" Tristan asked.
"Let's watch and see." Danny said with a smile.
The group of vampires were placed in a simulation of the maze outside the castle. The Ha'tak ships all had a room with a projection cube. It gave him and the Jaffa the ability to be around familiar things when they got homesick or wanted an adventure. The Jaffa used it mostly for training with projected enemies or dangerous missions. Afterwards they would study what was done in both their adventure and the original and see if they could improve. They were updated every once in a while, so they would have new options to choose from.
This one was placed at the top of the dome to prevent them from getting rid of the scenery.
"What are we doing in here?" Godbrand asked.
He had teleported them while they were sleeping in their rooms. They could not leave the simulation room without his permission.
"I think that you should be less worried about where you were and more what is locked inside with you." Danny said with a smile.
"What do you mean by that?" Godbrand asked enraged.
He was whirling around as if he was a dog chasing his tail.
"You are being hunted. The creatures will follow you until they bite you and inject their venom inside you." Danny said.
"You think some poison is going to scare us. I will destroy whatever creatures you send after me." Godbrand roared.
"Do that. For any of you that are sane you should know that the venom they have is werewolf venom." Danny said and feeling the horror rising inside them. At that moment he began playing Terror Time.
0-0-0-0-0-0
"You are aware that injecting a vampire with werewolf venom will kill them?" Sophie-Anne asked as she watched the monsters hunt her fellow vampires down.
"I know. I also know how to cure them of it. If they are unlucky and manage to get bit, then I will wait until they get near the edge then heal them. I want all the vampire to know about the punishment that they will face if they decide to rebel." Danny said. "If they reach the end of the maze there is a room that my zombies will not follow them to. I just want to see how long it takes for them to get there."
"You know how to cure werewolf venom?" Sophie-Anne asked. "I had never heard of such a thing before."
"It is not beyond me." Danny answered.
"How?" Sophie-Anne asked.
"You do not need to know. Just know that is in my possession." Danny answered.
He had found out recently that Niklaus's blood could cure vampires that had been bitten by werewolves.
"You will stop this." Tristan said as he walked over to him.
"Aren't you curious about who will reach the end of the maze first?" Danny asked Tristan with a smile.
