Chapter 35: A Mother's Love
(Nottingham, England)
"Wow." Danny said as he looked at the data pad in front of him.
His dinosaurs seemed to be doing rather well in the mars' zoo. He had the memories of the Jurassic Park series and decided to avoid their mistakes. He had started small when creating his dinosaurs. One biosphere on Mars where he could see how difficult it would be to raise and feed such animals. It was also why he started with the Herbivores. With his people's knowledge of transforming barren planets into ones capable of generating flora and sustaining fauna it was easy to create enough trees to feed them for several lifetimes.
"Looking at your pet monsters?" Qetsiyah asked appearing beside him.
"Just because you do not like how they appear does not make them monsters." Danny said.
"Then why are you watching over the farmers and other servants you sent to tend to these beasts?" Qetsiyah asked.
"I just like to make sure that everything is going well." Danny said as he put his data pad off and moved it to the table next to the bed.
"I only hope that you are putting as much effort in your current missions." Qetsiyah said.
"Your doubts hurt Qetsiyah." Danny said walking to the window of his room to look outside the Inn and the people walking on the street.
The people below walked through the city with no idea the danger that was walking through it. He could see a man wearing a baker's hat walking through the area with a tray of bread for people to buy, old men getting their hair cut, and women buying food for their children. There was one woman that looked like she is close to running off into the wild as she tried to buy eggs with her six children hanging off of her. It seemed like a nice place. He saw two men walking off most likely to go hunting. The taller one of the pair had people staring at him as he walked through the town.
"So how do you plan to deal with Jeremy?" Qetsiyah asked.
"I plan on injecting him with a sedative that will render him helpless while I take the information that I want from him before I kill him." Danny said.
"When?" Qetsiyah asked.
"After I learn what the Halliwell sisters are like." Danny answered her.
Patty had told him that Jeremy's target is the middle child, but he wanted to know what her siblings are like as well.
"I assume this is all so you can get your hands on the coven's lost treasure?" Qetsiyah asked.
"If you are gambling with spirits on the Other Side tell them that that you win." Danny said as he turned from the window to her.
"That is not all though, is it?" Qetsiyah asked.
"I am thinking of reforming the coven." Danny said.
"Who are you thinking of inviting?" Qetsiyah asked.
"Survivors of the Rouen coven, lost witches on their own, people looking for a group to belong to, and those people looking for someone to follow." Danny said.
He had plenty of time until it got dark, and he had to go to Gardenia and see whether the rumors about Lady Lalaurie are true.
"I assume you will want me to help you?" Qetsiayh asked.
"We have already come this far together." Danny said as he walked to the door of his room.
"Hello master Daniel." Simon the owner of the inn said.
Simon is a rather tall and round man with a bald head at the top and hair above his ears. Thanks to Nish'ta he did not have to worry about the man asking unnecessary questions
"Good day Simon. How are the workers I gave you doing?" Danny asked.
He had two Jaffa working in the kitchen so that he did not have to worry over whether he could trust or tolerate the food.
"They are doing great." Simon answered.
"Can you come with me for a bit. I want to talk to you." Danny said as he walked down the stairs and sat at a table.
"It is no problem. What did you want to talk about?" Simon asked following after him.
"I want you to tell me all that you know about the Halliwell family." Danny said as he placed a B.I.R.D. on the table to record everything that he said.
"I know that the family consists of the Grandmother Penny, her son-in law Victor, and his three daughters. Their names are Prudence, Piper, and Phoebe. Their mother Patty died thirteen years ago." Simon said.
"Do you have any idea what happened to her?" Danny asked.
He had not asked Patty how she died. He figured that she might not be over such an event yet and so steered clear.
"I heard that she had been working on their farm when she got stung by bee. The word is she broke into some sort of rash. It took her quickly." Simon said.
A terrible reaction to a bee sting. That was how King Aethulwulf I of Wessex had died. He had just been reading a book when he happened to get stung. All it took to kill the recently elevated king. He had no idea what was even happening. The medical practice was still primitive, so they had no idea what had been happening. They had tried potions, tinctures, and leeches.
Horrible medical practices that are still around today.
When the churches of Nirtti are set up on the planet they would be prepared to deal with it but that would not begin util his vacation is over.
"Where do her daughters spend most of their time?" Danny asked.
"The Halliwell family has no boys, and their father cannot work so each daughter is working to take care of the family." Simon said.
"Why can't their father work?" Danny asked.
"He had fought in King Henry's war against France and injured his leg. The injury was so bad it had to be cut off." Simon said.
"That's horrible." Danny said as he wondered how he could use the information to his advantage.
"He is an alright guy. He tries to do what he can around the farm and visits his daughter here. Personally, I think it is so he can be as far away from his mother-in-law as he can." Simon said.
"They don't get along?" Danny asked.
"From what I hear Penny never approved of Victor." Simon said.
"Do you know why?" Danny asked.
"No. whatever the reason Victor does not talk of it." Simon said.
Very well. He could ask Patty about it. There are still other things that he needs to learn about the family.
"How old are the sisters?" Danny asked.
"Prue is twenty-one-years old, Piper Halliwell is eighteen-years-old, and Phoebe Halliwell is sixteen-years-old." Simon said.
"What are the sisters like?" Danny asked.
"Piper the middle child and wants to become a baker and so she spends a lot of her time here apprenticing under the cooks, Prue spends her time working on the family farm, and Phoebe spends her time helping both out, but everyone knows that she wants to leave." Simon said.
Danny could sense that Patty is coming and so he needed to hurry up.
"Thank you. You have been a great help." Danny said as he caused the B.I.R.D. to be apported back to his room.
"Is something the matter master?" Simon asked.
"Don't worry about it." Danny said and watched as the owner nodded and stood up to return to what he had been planning on doing before he took his attention "Now you can get back to what you were doing before we started talking." He got up and walked out of the inn.
"How do you like my city?" Patty asked appearing next to him.
'It looks like a nice place.' Danny answered her.
Qetsiyah hated when he answered her psychically but that was because of how she felt about psychics on principle.
He hoped that Patty would feel differently.
"I loved it here. The animals, the people. I hoped to live a full life here with my family." Patty said as she twirled around.
'What is the problem between your ex-husband and your mother?' Danny asked her.
"My mother never approved that I married a mortal. She felt that I was wasting my potential. Even more so when I stopped practicing and made her hide our history from the girls when she lived with us." Patty said.
'Is your grandmother aware of the threat that is aiming at your family?' Danny asked.
"Yes, I told my mother, and she is aware that you are coming." Patty said.
'How does she feel about that?' Danny asked.
"She is reluctant, but she agrees that we must do whatever it takes to protect our family." Patty said.
'Very well. Once I am inside, we can talk more about it.' Danny said as he walked up to the Halliwell Farm.
The main house is a two floored building with an attachment on the side that held their kitchen and dining room. He could see that a few miles away there is a barn on the land that was connected to stables. If he wished, he could actually smell the animals that he could see on their farm.

"Hello." Danny said as the door opened revealing the old woman on the other side.
Penny Halliwell is a short woman with dark brown hair and eyes. She wore a green and orange dress. On her neck is a rather large necklace that may be made out of bronze, but he is not interested enough to look scan deeper to find out.
"This is the one that is supposed to help us?" Penny asked Patty.
"Be kind mother." Patty said.
"Let's get this started." Penny said as she gestured for him to come in.
"This is a nice place that you have." Danny said as he looked around the house.
"Thank you." Victor said as he sat on the couch.
His missing leg drew his attention as his pant leg was cut short and was closed by a button.
"Can we skip the pleasantries. We all know why you are here." Penny said.
"You see what I had to deal with?" Patty asked.
"I don't think that I am too harsh." Penny said.
"Who are you talking too?" Victor asked.
"We are talking to Patty." Danny said as he gestured at the part of the house where Patty is standing.
"I don't understand." Victor said in a confused tone of voice.
"It is no surprise you are after all a mortal." Penny said.
"There is nothing wrong with that. Grandpa was mortal." Patty said.
"I have nothing against them. I just wanted more for you and we all knew that you could do better." Penny said.
"Thanks Penny." Victor said.
"I think it would be better if we could all see and talk to each other." Danny said waving his hand and causing Patty to become visible for everyone in the room.
"Hello Victor." Patty said.
"Patty, I have missed you so much." Victor said as he extended his hand.
"I know." Patty said as she started walking closer.
"I should warn you too that I just made her visible to him. If the two of you try to touch you will pass through each other." Danny said.
"How is this possible?" Victor asked.
"Let me explain. When a witch dies, they go to an alternate plane of existence to spend the rest of eternity. I used my gifts to project an image of her that you can hear." Danny said.
"Why are you here?" Victor asked.
"I am here because Patty came to me and asked me to save your daughters' lives." Danny said.
"What's going on?" Victor asked.
"It seems that there are some people that want your daughter Piper to try and gain access to an ancient safe haven their ancestors created.." Danny said.
"How do you plan on doing that?" Penny asked.
"I plan on taking them with me and hunting down the evil witch that is after them." Danny said.
"What?" Victor, Patty, and Penny asked.
"Something the matter?' Danny asked as he tilted his head.
"If you are going to hunt down and kill the person after them then why do they need to go with you?" Victor asked.
"Obviously since a group of evil witches has shown interest in one of them once chances are that more are going to follow hoping to succeed. If they come with me, they are going to be protected as best as possible." Danny said.
"You cannot do this. They should not have to run and hide." Victor said.
"The men after them are violent and I doubt that they will mind burning this city to get what they want. Do you think your daughters will just sit by and let that happen?" Danny asked.
"How would we even explain this to them?" Patty asked.
"I think that the lot of you should just tell them the truth. They should know their history and why they have to leave." Danny said.
"I am just supposed to trust you with my daughters. Take them some place that I will not be able to see how they are doing." Victor said.
"There is no need to worry. I will give both you and them a device that will allow them to contact you any time you or they desire." Danny said.
"Prue will not want to leave the farm." Victor said.
"That's easy. We tell her I can loan you workers to help while they are away. You do not have to pay them as I will take care of that. They are used to working on farms and they can protect him from anyone that comes looking for your daughters." Danny said.
"What are you going to have them do?" Victor asked.
"From what I know of Piper I know several places she can continue her apprenticeship and learn how to one day start her own chain of inns through the continents." Danny said thinking of the Totsuki students he had duplicated and forcibly grown. Some are still learning how to make western foods, but it would probably be a good experience for them.
"What about Prue and Phoebe?" Victor asked.
"I believe that I can find them something. All it will take is a conversation to find out what they wish to do." Danny said. He had stuff going on all over the world. Finding them something should not be too difficult. Phoebe is in the same age group as Queen Mary and friends. If everything else failed, she would have friends to talk with.
"And you promise they will not be harmed?" Victor asked.
"I have many ways to protect them, and I have countless men that can fight to defend your daughters in case their enemies come to attack him." Danny said.
He had vampire blood that could heal almost anything. Even in the rare chance that they encountered something that it could not heal he had the original healing device as backup. If the need or desire arose, they could be given the same option as Rebekah and leave this world behind for another in his kingdom.
"While we are talking about what I can do for your daughters I was wondering if you wanted something as well?" Danny said.
"What do you mean?" Victor asked.
"I meant if you wanted a leg to replace the one that you lost?" Danny asked.
"You can do that?" Victor asked.
"Yeas. I will admit that the surgery will be painful, but you will be able to stand on your own again." Danny said.
It is a good thing that Victor and Penny are not drinking tea because the way they are feeling now would have resulted in them spitting it out all over him.
"How bad?" Victor asked.
"The pain in the surgery is due to the moment that the nerves connect with the machine. The replacement limb would read signals sent by the brain and respond how a person's natural limb would. I can give you further information if you choose to take this option." Danny said.
"Do you have somewhere to be?' Penny asked.
"I have another promise that I intend to fulfil, and it requires me to leave shortly." Danny answered her.
